I moved alot of furniture, plants and belongings to ensure everything was out of the way the night before and morning of. I got an uneasy feeling as 115pm approached so I called to to make sure everything was ok. I spoke to Irene who told me they were 1 hr behind. She apologized, and was courteous. I didn't receive a call that they were behind, or needed to reschedule and it was unprofessional. They ended up calling and had 2 ladies to my place shortly after 2pm. I had to help the ladies in, and up with their supplies as it looked heavy and there were only two of them (I offered to help when I saw them carrying everything). I had a walkthrough of my place with the Owner of Merry Maids 07/13 and was told there would be a team of 4 people for the initial deep cleaning. He was nice & personable. We talked about the great equipment/cleaning products used specific to Merry Maids (I was concerned when I saw the vaccume cleaner and that mine was pricier.) With two people of course they didn't do the work of 4 people and it took a little over 2 hours. My baseboards weren't cleaned, the kitchen countertops werent cleaned, the tops of doors, ledges weren't cleaned, half the mirrors weren't cleaned, only 1 of the 3 bathroom floors was fully cleaned (And I don't believe they do windows). The two ladies did clean and I don't want to discredit them, when they were short 2 people. The ladies were really nice, and hard workers, and I want to stress that they were short 2 people. They also confirmed that when you have a walkthrough there is a crew of 4 that does the initial deep cleaning, and they didn't know why 4 weren't sent. I have a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom with two sets of stairs. I only had 2 of the three bedrooms cleaned. I wish I could give more stars, but overall I'm disappointed with the service provided. It was a light cleaning at most and it wasn't money well spent on my end.

He also called a couple of days before the service to follow up on my request to have very high second story outdoor window cleaning as part of it. Once they were underway with the cleaning, Armando checked in now and then, asked my preferences on several mini projects within the cleaning, and delivered excellent results. I had a gnarly monstrosity of a stove top I'd breathed in scary amounts of toxic fumes trying to get clean and eventually gave up on. I'm embarrassed to post the pic but I want to just to demonstrate how great a job they did! (The black areas in the pic are where the paint was already scraped off.) However, towards the end…read morewhen the owner didn't accompany her husband and the other employees they weren't as thorough with cleanings (spilled cat food and didn't clean it up, didn't vacuum cat hair on the stairs). We overlooked it as the owner would still come with them about every other time and things went well when she was there and the rate was good. However, the last time they were there they left the house and completely left our back door completely wide open and our cat got out. This was a huge oversight, and when I reached out to the owner about it she responded by saying that her husband said we would just leave our back door like that, so it was on us. Unfortunately, we couldn't move forward with using them regardless of how thorough she had been because when her husband was here he wasn't thorough and lost our cat (luckily we found her later that night), and he also didn't even respect us enough to own up to something he did or apologize, so we didn't feel comfortable having him in our home again.
