This is the second review I am making for this establishment. They consistently give new reason to not use them for contacts, frames and/or lenses. I do think the optometrists do a fine job, and I think the prescriptions they give are at least correct. Which is great considering what they want to charge people for contacts and frames/lenses. Unfortunately, that's where the positive review ends. The main reason I cannot recommend Abba is their inconsistent and unreasonable pricing for lenses. It feels very sketchy and unprofessional, especially for a medical establishment -- as if the prices are set arbitrarily by a broker rather than based on the actual product. I can get basic plastic lenses with anti-glare anywhere else for around $80 or less per pair. At Abba, I was quoted $240 for one pair of the exact same basic lenses. That is absurd. It genuinely feels like they absorb whatever funds they see available from insurance and inflate the pricing accordingly, instead of charging a fair, standard rate for the product. It comes across as highly unscrupulous. My insurance benefits aren't "free money" -- I pay for my coverage and expect it to be applied appropriately to my medical needs. read more

I go to Dr Garwood every year. Jesus is usually the one that helps me with my glasses and contacts. Everyone has always gone out of their way to be helpful. The two of them are amazing. I have some unique challenges because I got the short end of the gene pool stick when it comes to my eyes. Dr Garwood has come up with genius solutions for me. I love them. I had my appointment this Wednesday June 10th 2026 with Dr. Heck. I wanted to make sure my left eye was healthy because I have been having headaches and also wanted to see if I may need eye corrective surgery. While Dr. Heck was doing the testing on my left eye which is my bad eye. It was really hard for me to see the letters from the distance she had it. I also at times would have a really hard time picking which slide was clear or not because I literally can not see well from that eye. I would tell her which one was clear or not and it felt like she started to become irritated because I was choosing the ones she felt should be clear. She literally stopped flung her arms down in aggravation and explained how I should be doing the test. I understood the first time and was doing that but if its not clear or if its blurred to ME I'm going to tell the truth. When I spoke to her about the pain and other concerns that I had she seemed to brush them off and blame it on because I'm in my 40s. Then proceeded to continuously bring up her problems because she's 48. First of all I've been blessed to not have to say Oh this is happening to me since I've turned 40. Everything I spoke to her about I've been dealing with since I was a child with my lazy left eye. She would cut me off when I would try to speak. After a while I just stopped talking. When we walked out of the room she went to the front desk. I was behind her taking a seat in the waiting area right next to the front desk where they walk in and out. She didn't notice where I sat or I'm sure she wouldn't had went to the tall lady that had glasses with salt and pepper hair complaining to her that she had to repeatedly ask me which one and to just pick one already. The salt and pepper haired woman took me over to where I was supposed to look at glass however I told her that I just wanted to leave. Very humiliating. It seems that Dr. Heck doesn't have patience and I really hope she doesn't treat children the way that she did me. Thumbs down never ever coming back here. I have been here twice. I have no idea why some people have placed negative reviews here. All of the staff members are outstanding. They offer additional services without pressure to buy. The prices are in line with other providers. Dr. Heck is outstanding! In 50 years of eye exams, I have never had a better exam than the ones I have had with her. read more

One of the doctors is actually the rudest person. She act's like coming in for glasses is bothering her (even though it's her job). She has multiple times been incredibly rude to me. read more

gals are nice there but getting a refund out of these people is like pulling teeth with a razor blade you have no way to get a hold of someone to see where the check is and get voice mail sooo unprofessional business they cant even get the prescription right I went in there like 4 times finally gave up and asked for a refund. They need to let their patients know ahead of time if they don't take their insurance. Put my insurance info in on line, but when I got there I was informed they no longer accepted Humana. Ended up paying over $800 for a pair of glasses. Then after bothering from them for 3 weeks I called asking for a status and they had no idea my glasses hadn't passed the vendors QC. The doctor I saw was knowledgeable, efficient, and kind. The person who helped me pick out my glasses appeared to know their job, but made a huge mistake. I was dealing with an urgent need to fill my distance prescription. They were handed two documents by the front desk person. One had my computer prescription on it, and the other had my distance. I told them I needed my distance glasses filled, as my husband ran over my old ones. Which left me living in prescription sunglasses for the last almost month. The gentleman helping me said it would take 2 weeks. It ended up taking 3 weeks, and when I finally got my glasses sent to the right store (after 3 phone call attempts), I tried them on, and found out they had the wrong prescription in them. The staff at the Woodmen location were condescending and never once acknowledged the error. Instead, they said it was the "other" location. To which I said, all locations are "ABBA". The only thing they offered was a refund. Never offered to correct the issue, or even apologized. Anytime I brought up a point of issue, they just stayed silent. I told them this was an awful experience for me...but again, no response. CONCLUSION: Go to Costco Eye Center Instead - I got the correct glasses and prescription in 6 days time, without the attitude. Overall - Poor experience for too high of a price. 1. The different locations do not communicate to each other, and treat each other as just separate entities not representing the same store. They regarded each others locations as separate teams, not one team working toward a common goal of customer satisfaction. 2. Overpriced glasses, incompetent and possibly unintentionally rude staff. (I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but this case was hard to ignore their condescending and arrogant silence as I told them of the issues I had had.) 3. No acknowledgment of error, or willingness to fix in order to keep my business. Therefore, no more of my business. read more

They have a 2.6 star review for a reason! Take the reviews seriously and buy elsewhere. Other than Dr Garwood (who is awesome!), everyone else is rude, condescending, and lacks knowledge. Went in for new glasses. The young man assigned to me showed me 3 pairs of glasses and then walked away to do something on a computer- never said excuse me or I'll be right back - just disappeared. Terrible service. I left. I went to the Abba store on Nevada and had the best service ever! The woman explained everything and looked up my vision plan to let me know exam try wavy was covered. Additionally, the Nevada store cleans every pair of glasses that people try on, whereas this store just puts them back on the shelf. Ick!! read more

I've been coming to this ABBA location for 3 years. I always have them the benefit of the doubt. They try to oversell you and the front desk staff are very inconsiderate. I came exactly 8 minutes late (they have a 10 minute late policy). The front desk lady was assisting others and asked me to wait. When she finally spoke to me, 5 minutes later, she said I had to reschedule because I was more than 10 minutes late. I mentioned how I tried calling and no one picked up. Lenses are expensive: $332 after insurance (Only $40 of that money I paid was toward the frames) and they told me that it would take 2 weeks to get the glasses if they were on top of things. I need my glasses within 2 weeks before I go on vacation, but we shall see how long it takes. I may update my review later. Now, for the positive feedback. The staff are really friendly, and the doc is really attentive. They treat you really well. Plus I like that it is a newer building. I remember when it was built. Great Place. Many reviews I have read through are rating the time frame in which they receive their glasses. It does take some time to receive them. So plan accordingly. Too easy. The service from the second I walk in to the second I leave is nothing short of caring and professional and makes up for the few weeks you wait on glasses. The staff as a whole are great. They take their time with you and give their honest opinion towards the look of the glasses you try on or like. They do not favor certain frames and push you to buy certain frames. I have been going here for years. Now as a veteran, I was so glad to see that my military voucher for glasses accepts ABBA. Now I really do not have to go anywhere else but here. read more

I came into town for a family member who passed away; I tore the contacts I brought with me. I had gone to another place to see if I could purchase just a trial of contacts and they didn't help me. We decided to go to ABBA eye care. As soon as I walked in I was greeted so warmly. I asked if they could help me and the lady went to see what they could do. (I had my eye Rx on me) next thing I know A man by the name of Frank came and gave me a trial pair. I almost cried over everyone being so gracious. Love this place. I hadn't been to an eye doctor in three years. My husband received patient (as in tolerant, good natured) service here, though, so when I had an eye emergency concern I called here. Even though I was not yet a client, they fit me in same day. The doctor who examined me told me if my symptoms increased I should come back immediately because I probably needed emergency surgery. Scared me heartlessly and apathetically. But she is no longer there. The doctor I saw yesterday (when I came in thinking I had increased symptoms) educated me and reassured me that I indeed was not going blind (lol). She let me ask her ignorant questions and, as I said, educated me on what has really been going on with my eyes. This was only my second time seeing them and yet again they fit me in last minute. People need to have realistic expectations when they visit a place. No one "lives" to make you feel good. When someone like the doctor who saw me happens to end up making me feel good, that's above and beyond, in my opinion. read more

The most horrible experience I have had with an eye center. Had an appointment at 8:30 waited 30 minutes to be told the doctor never showed up. They only had one other doctor in for the day and she was kind enough to squeeze me into her schedule. The issue I had was the lady at the front desk horrible attitude she gave off a no care attitude to me when I checked in. The gentleman who checked me out for my contacts gave me attitude about me not understanding what my insurance covered. At this point I've been there now for 2 hours. I asked him how much longer this will take and he rudely said I can call you with a quote. I asked can I have the information on the rebate and he rudely said NO you don't buy today you don't get to take the information on the rebate. All you are is a number at this place with them trying to make commission on who buys what. Don't waste your time or money on this place! read more

Edit** I upgraded to 4 stars because Laura worked with me on alternative options. I decided to get prescription sunglasses and contacts in exchange for the glasses that did not work well for me. She was able to alter the pricing so I would not be responsible for the out of pocket difference to offset my troubles, which was a significant savings. I was placed into a pair of glasses with lenses I could not see clearly out of. The optician wasted an hour of my time adjusting where they sat on my face and concluded he didn't know what was wrong and I should "try them out a few days". I brought them back the next day and asked to be helped by someone else. I was given to an optician with less than three months experience who had no idea why I couldn't see clearly. A doctor sensed my frustration and stepped in, reexamined me and suggested tweaking the prescription. The changes seemed reasonable and logical. I came back to pick up the adjusted lenses and I still cannot see clearly. I have no problem seeing out of my 4 older pair of glasses from other eye care specialists. I don't understand why it is so hard to get it right. The optician today was thorough and seemed to have a reasonable explanation for "why" I'm having difficulty but has no solution. She also suggested I try them out a few days. I have never been so frustrated. Of course all I want is my money back so I can go somewhere else; but there are no refunds. I refuse to settle for glasses I can't see out of but at this point after dealing with two different doctors and three opticians I don't feel confident they will resolve my issue. read more

My husband went to ABBA in July and ordered glasses. They talked him into getting progressive lenses. He doesn't even need reading glasses, mind you, and doesn't do computer work. He kept them for a couple weeks and went back to tell them telling them he could not wear the glasses. Basically they told him ""so sorry" we can replace them with regular lenses, but can't give you any credit for the expensive progressive lenses." When we got our explanation of benefits from our insurance company we found out he was overcharged $211. I started calling ABBA immediately. Then they had me calling their billing company. It is now FIVE months later and we still have not been reimbursed the $211. I will NEVER go back to any ABBA. read more

The front seat staff is wonderful but the actual people who fit you for your glasses and place the order will lie to you and say it will be "rushed" and then come to find out it's 2 1/2 almost 3 weeks out till I can get my glasses. Mind you, I have no current glasses so I am in need of my glasses sooner then later. If I would have known this I would have just went to Walmart or another place that can do in house. I had such a positive experience with Abba that it is going to be my permanent eye care place. From my first order with Cheyann to my frame adjustment with Melvin it was top notch. With Cheyann she must have been with me an hour because I couldn't decide what frames I wanted. She was patient and explained the types of lenses and frames that were covered on my insurance and what the warranties were. My frames came in a week early and I got a timely call. Melvin was awesome and also very patient adjusting my glasses for even the smallest adjustments. He gave me a cleaning cloth and a bottle of cleaner and even explained how to wash it! I don't understand the criticism because I was treated like a queen!! Thanks Abba! read more

I wish they told you up front that they don't actually have a lab to make your glasses here. The customer service is good. Nice, friendly people. Doctors are wonderful. But after all the exams, picking frames, lenses, sitting down and sorting out the bill, etc...THEN you find out, it takes two weeks to get your glasses. I lost my glasses. I can't drive without them. What am I supposed to do for TWO WEEKS? I could've gone to Lenscrafters or somewhere else and had my glasses by 5pm. read more

My husband and I visited this Abba location for the first time and it was GREAT! The building is conveniently located for us, is super clean, contains big fancy doors and spacious rooms, and a fabulous staff. We were scheduled for a Friday afternoon which is an easy time to rush through and skimp on care, but they were incredibly attentive to our needs. The staff got us in and out quickly, but not in a way that felt like they were just pushing us through. Kodie explained the alternative to dilation picture option and took our pictures quickly and efficiently, Zach, the tech, suave dresser I might add, was super friendly, Arianna the Refractionist popped in while I was waiting to see the doctor and ensured that I was doing ok and whether or not I had further questions, Dr. Garwood (also a fabulous dresser) was like talking with an old friend, explained my eye situation in a way that I could understand without being condescending as some doctors can be, and was just really genuine which was so nice, and we were both done in less than an hour with Rick, the Optician, finishing up our appointment with measuring our PD. They gave us our prescriptions upon checking out and not once did they pressure us to buy specs from them which is also a nice reprieve from other eye care places I have been. Only 2 suggestions, 1. mention to customers that they will need to get their PD measured if they plan to order online, my sister didn't know to ask when she had her appointment so we had to run back, but Rick was happy to oblige and 2. Write the numbers on the prescription a little more legibly (we had to use our sleuthing skills and hopefully properly determine whether it was a 2 or a 0. Overall, great building, even better staff, and will always handle my eye business there in the future :-) read more

I'm a Vet with disabilities and the VA helps me pay for my eye glasses. I went to Abba because they were on the VA list of places to go and they always say they support the Vets. I gave them the VA authorization letter and I ordered some glasses from them. I have used the VA authorization letter at other places and have had no problems. I paid for the frames and the VA would pay for the lens. I was told it would take 2 weeks, I thought that was a little long but OK, well they didn't come in two weeks so I called them, they told me that they don't even start on the glasses until the VA pays for them. So now it been over a month and still no glasses. Never will I use ABBA again. Happy 4th of July ABBA. read more

Horrible customer service! I took unpaid time off from work to go to my eye appointment this morning. Unfortunately, their online reservation service decided to cancel my appointment. Despite this being Abba Eyecare's error they were only willing to give me two choices : reschedule without any concern that I lose family income when I take time off or wait two to three hours "while they figure out if anything can be done". I was just another number ($) as far as they were concerned. This treatment of patients is horrible. Take your business elsewhere like I am doing!!! My husband & I went here last year for the first time, having been with a husband & wife Optometrist team for around 15 yrs. We tried Abba, because of proximity to our house. We were both shocked at the price tag, and thought it to be excessive. I went in yesterday to ask about repair on my glasses, after an accident over the weekend had injured my eye badly, resulting in broken glasses & 9 stitches. The lady at check in was very nice & empathetic when I told her what happened. I then waited for the young lady (same one who sold me the glasses) to come over. She never once even looked at my eye, nor did she ask what happened. She got my chart & informed me that my glasses were two months out of warranty. She then suggested I could "amazon" the frames as they no longer carried them & I could bring them in, as she'd be happy to put the lenses in. This entire time - no eye contact - no curiosity as to what happened to my glasses. I asked her about gluing the stem back in place, to which she first said "I can try, but no guarantees it would work" - then after she gave me a repair guys card, I asked her again about gluing & she replied "I wouldn't be confident & we're not supposed to do that" - Basically this is a high priced boutique. Their skills seem limited to selling you a fancy frame, & adding in all of the bells & whistles they "definitely recommend". NO after sales service. We will be returning to our former Optometrist soon, and we look forward to having proper care & full service again. read more

I have been going to Abba for the last two years. I have been to both the Lake Plaza and Woodman location. Both places are wonderful with great doctors and staff. My last visit at the Woodman store was just as awesome as the first visit. I received a nice call a day before my appointment reminding me of the time and all information regarding the visit. When I arrived, I was greeted right away and offered coffee while I fill out my paperwork. The doctors assistances were very polite and patient with me. Dr. Sallecchia is a new and young doctor at Abba and she was absolutely amazing. She explained everything she was doing and noticed since my last visit. Not once did she make me feel uncomfortable when answering the questions I had. Although the glasses were high priced, you get what you pay for and I still love my Tiffany glasses with top of the lines lenses. I was never pressured into buying something I didn't want. After I was finished with my glasses an hour and a half had already passed (I spent a lot of time on my glasses, every question and concern I had was answered and I had a lot) , I was ready to wrap things up. I was checked out by a young lady named Sasha. She was very professional and helpful. She created small chat complimenting me on my glasses decision. I requested an itemized receipt for insurance and she was so kind in explaining all of charges billed to insurance, my charges, my payments, and my balance. Because she was the last person to assist me and with such a positive attitude I left Abba with such a great feeling. When I came back to pick up my glasses a couple people including Sasha remembered who I was. I will be returning this office for all my eye care needs. Best place ever!! read more

ABBA Eyecare - Eyewear & Opticians Near Me - Colorado Springs, Colorado

Didn't get an exam done here but I did order glasses through them. I used the VA voucher and in a military city, you would think they'd have some sort of expedited plan in place for eyeglass payment, especially with the VA payment office being less than 60 miles away in Denver. I placed my eyeglass order a month ago and called them yesterday only for them to tell me that they just placed the order last week and they'll be in around the end of next week to the beginning of the following week. In total that'll be THREE WEEKS!!! Really!? It's the 21st century where there's companies out here making glasses and shipping them to your door in two days and better yet, companies that are local that can produce prescription eyeglasses in an hour. The person on the phone's excuse was that the lab is backed up...solution, find a new lab!!!! Absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. I don't recommend. If this is how they treat customers who NEED their glasses, then I can only imagine how they treat you with exams. read more

This place is a complete rip off 800 for ONE pair of glasses. This is not a place for affordable eye care. More like an eye boutique. Everything is an upsell. Then they call back 3 days later and tell me insurance won't cover my glasses so I can pay $800 out of pocket or cancel the order and get my part of the payment back. I've been a patient of Dr. Garwood for the past few years and couldn't be happier. Dr. Garwood is extremely thorough and clearly cares about her patients. During my first visit ~ 2012 she corrected an eyeglass prescription I had received from another optometrist (non Abba) the year prior. I couldn't believe how much better I could see with my new prescription. Needless to say, I was sold on her skill at that point and I will continue to be her patient as long as she's in town. I left an honest review for the prior Barnes location a few years ago that was very negative and truly did not want to give my business to Abba. Last month, my eye was super inflamed and I needed quick help so I booked an appointment. My eye was so bad that I needed to come in every week for five weeks and I saw a different optometrist each time. The first eye drops prescribed did not work. The second prescription was $40 for a tiny bottle, but it helped slowly with the inflammation. One eye doctor gave me some samples to offset the cost. That was kind. I was getting ok service, but frustrated my eye was still painful and red and needed a reason so I could treat it. Then I spoke with Dr. Garwood. She was fantastic. She told me what the problem was and what my options were for the future. We discussed preventative measures to assist with keeping the issue at bay. She answered all of my questions and was fully knowledgeable. I felt relieved. Since then, the inflammation has ceased. I'm so grateful for her help and she reinstated my trust in Abba. Unfortunately, I don't believe she is a regular at this location. read more

If you want to be lied to about price, go here. I was quoted $550 for a years supply of contacts BEFORE a $200 rebate and insurance. When I went to order them a week later after I completed the trial, it was going to be over $800 AFTER the rebate and insurance. I ended up having to switch brands of contacts to something cheaper. I was told this new brand of contacts had the same $200 rebate and I agreed to go ahead and order them. They told me the doctor said it was fine not to do the trial because it was a very similar lens to the one I had already tried. They told me they went ahead and ordered the years supply and that they would be in within a week. A week later they called and I went to pick my contacts up but all they had was the 10 day trial, even though I had already paid (half upon ordering, going to pay the rest upon pickup) and was told they had been ordered. The contacts came in the end of that week, I picked them up. When I went to go apply for the $200 rebate, I find out its only a $100 rebate. Not only that, but the reciept they gave me doesn't have half of the information I need to redeem the rebate. I called and no one can tell me why I was told all of the wrong things over and over again. These people need to get on the same page as each other and get their stuff together. My family and I will be going somewhere else from now on. TLDR; They have no clue what they're talking about when it comes to prices and will lie to you over and over again. read more
