Different faces mostly but attitude was obvious. Staff too young and badly in need of social skills. The ophthalmologist iced the cake as to rudeness. Rude, distant, and downright insulting -- said "go see Dr. Haas or doctor somebody else` if I needed "hand holding" Told me he was 'done" when I asked about scheduling a 3 month checkup since I have cataracts forming. Told me "what for ?'. When I tried to explain I wanted to ride herd on the problem to monitor the situation and decide how soon I might need surgery he said "it's up to you if you want to walk around in a fog forever." -- he told me "I don't do anything when there are cataracts" as if I had no right to set out my own health progress. Told me he was not liable if I fell (I am disabled but trying) once I stepped outside . Then he said "be careful until you're out of the parking lot -- I am liable if you fall until then." I left angry and insulted. My wife will not use them now. People better remember that patients are not a nuisance or an interruption -- Patients ARE THE REASON THEY HAVE JOBS. I don't care if you like my jokes and casual demeanor, and I do not care if you are having a bad day because I am not and I will never have a healthy, pain free day ever so put a smile on and be happy to see me or go flip burgers. They can have a good day -- ill patients cannot. If all of that means "hand holding" then so be it in his world but it is called being professional and compassionate in the rest of the world. The front office staff are nice and getting an appointment was easy but Dr Arbaugh is not friendly. He always seemed annoyed and in a rush. When my contact lens prescription went from toric to sphere he commented how it was good for me but bad for him because my contacts would be cheaper. I found that to be an odd statement. read more

Today was my first visit to Alpine Vision but definitely not the last. I could not have been more pleased. From the moment I entered the door and received a warm and pleasant greeting from Chenoa, who got me all checked in. Then at the beginning, meeting Staci, who answered questions I had regarding my insurance coverage, before I started my appointment. I appreciated how kind and patient she was to explained everything to me before and after my exam. Then met my Tech, Samantha. She was so sweet. Dr. Audrey M. She was so friendly, kind and thorough with my exam and answered all my questions. Lastly leaving, I met Rio. And she was as pleasant and friendly as all the other ladies I met there today. The faculty was very warm and inviting. This was an absolutely great first visit and I look forward to seeing them again. I would definitely recommend Alpine Vision. read more

I never want to go to Alpine Vision again - Dr. Merryman made me wait an extra 15 minutes to be seen (even though I had an appointment). There was no apology for the wait. When I had questions, Dr. Merryman was impatient while explaining things to me and even argued with me. She didn't seem to care about knowing my eye health throughout years and what's specific to me. The office also didn't have my contacts on hand, so I had to wait an extra week for trials, then go in again, just to get my contacts prescription. I don't plan on returning. read more

Was not surprised at all to see this business had some of the lowest ratings among eye vision locations in the city. They are all about the money and not about the customer. I had multiple, multiple issues related to contacts I had purchased from them and they kept referring me to the contact company. The issues occurred on two different visits over 2 years. I had glasses made at alpine vision. I bought these glasses for work to read a computer. The reading strength is too weak. I have to bob my head up and back continually to see properly. It is something I cannot get fixed by alpine. Stay away. Drugstore bifocals are working better than prescription. Until I visit a competent optometrist my job is at stake. Bad communication and frustration throughout entire experience. Waste of money for me. read more

UPDATE: Since moving to beautiful Tucson, AZ the problem was fixed within a day. Went to a REAL optometrist and almost instantly she told me the lens was not sanded down (not sure what that means), but they were able to fix it asap. read more

I am beyond impressed by Alpine Vision. They've exceeded my expectations without a doubt. Walking in the area is clean, with a waiting area that offers free bottled water. The staff will immediately greet you with a smile and offer their assistance. I've purchased frames from Alpine before with a high quality and timely experience. So, I returned here when my 8 year old son was getting of headaches and squinting. The young girl performing the initial tests (long dark hair) did a decent job working with him. I explained to her that my son was on the spectrum for Autism, so he may not understand all of the tests. She didn't exactly do the best job...she told him the eye drops to dilate his eyes were going to hurt, so my son was terrified and about to panic. She struggled with him for 3 minutes asking me to hold his head still while he was crying. Enter Dr. Christopher Arbaugh: He came in with a calm yet assertive demeanor and told her to get out. He calmed my son down and just told him to raise his chin and close his eyes. He didn't need to do anything. My son was relieved the drops and the Dr. put in without a single complaint... He started the typical eye test. My son was seeing black dots, numbers, stars, and it... was a disaster. I explained to him... Little autistic boy here, remember? Do you have a test for kids with special needs? He said, "got it! Let's try this". He switched to a simple test where my son only needed to point which direction an E was facing. Within 1 minute, he had a perfect prescription. He definitely needed glasses. The ladies up front were adorable helping select frames that our insurance would cover, making certain that they fit his face well, and explained to him very clearly what to expect. It was definitely a turn around. This optometrist was fantastic, knowledgeable and fast at his job. He turned an experience that was about to be filled with tears into a fun one for my son. The glasses were done in 2 days. We picked them up without an appointment and received the same "happy to see you" attitude from the ladies up front, got them fit and we left happy and without a wait time to be seen. We'll definitely make this our main eye doctor for my son. read more

Zara at Alpine was the most incredibly helpful person I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I got stranded in town a few days longer than expected but my luggage made it back to my home state with my glasses and contacts in tow. I called and explained the predicament, that I wore dailies, AND my prescription was bad and Zara hunted down a trail pack for me to get me through the extra and unexpected days I was in town. I was so panicked I would have to spend the week and navigate the airport blind, but Alpine and Zara came through for someone who isn't even their regular patient. If I was a resident in the Springs, this office would have my business for life. I can't thank them, and Zara especially, enough for going above and beyond for me in a time of panic despite not being a patient. THAT is what genuine, consistent, and quality care looks like. Was very happy with all aspects at this office. Easy to find on Academy, had no wait at all to start my exam. Got fit with new contacts the first visit, they took neat pictures of the inside of my eyes top. Went home with supply of contacts the same day. First and foremost, the doctors are very knowledgable and friendly. They both truly care about your eye health. The office is impressive. Clean, decorated beautifully with a Colorado theme. I feel like I just got ripped off. I went to my appointment for a contact lens exam with Eye Med insurance. When I checked out they said I had a specialty appointment and my bill was $162.00. The receptionist said my insurance only pays 10% on specialty exams. I never asked for a specialty exam and was really pissed to have to pay that much without them explaining it to me beforehand. So I have been coming to Alpine Vision for many years. I have never had any issues up until recently. The receptionists are extremely rude and have no sense of customer service. I called to order contacts because I ran out before my insurance was going to kick in again. The lady was talking to me like I was just stupid. I finally got them ordered and they said about 7 days until they will be ready. I had not heard from them in a little over a week so I decided to call. Once again, the receptionist was extremely rude. She said, "It looks like we contacted you on September 28th" I said, "Oh okay. What did you guys contact me through because I never got anything?" This lady said, "through text... like always". The way she said it was so condescending. I will pick up my contacts here in the next few days, and then will be finding a new eye doctor. Do not trust your vision to this place!! I had to go to multiple appointments and see 2 doctors and they still do not have my prescription correct! In the meantime they have me wearing glasses with the wrong prescription. My vision is worse now than what it was before I went to see them. There are too many other eye doctors in the Springs to choose from for anyone to risk losing their vision by coming here. Besides that, the girls in the front are rude and they talk down to you. I have never in my life had such a horrible experience with any eye vision place until I came to Alpine,The only reason why I gave one star was the one receptionist she was always nice to me. Lets start with the fact that with I came there I asked about a benifit my job offered is a second pair of glasses for computer vision. I was told that I did not have that benefit, that I only had half off a second pair of glasses which was not what I was asking about. Second issue I always had progressive lens in my frames after paying $340 out of pocket they did not add the progressive lenses. I had to go back and pay an addition $120 for the progressive lenses which took over a week for them to correct the problem. After filing a complaint with my vision insurance provider they finally agreed to refund me my money for charging me for a second pair of lens instead of the computer glasses I originally was asking for and give me the correct lens for my computer glasses which by the way I still don't have. I normally do not write reviews, but because of Susan was so rude and non caring when I came back to get my computer glasses lens put in,.. which by the way did I mention that I still do not have???. This woman never once apologized, if there was a misunderstanding I could accept that but the fact she never acknowledge that there any wrongdoing or misunderstanding. And flat out told my insurance provider that I never asked about the computer glasses benefit which was a lie. how can you remember speaking to one customer about computer glasses when you deal with dozens of customers a day? They are fine when spending your money but once you tell them they made a mistake there is no more nice guy they get down right mean, what made this even worst Susan still tried to not refund all my money owed by adding on things to my computer glasses I told I did not want, I had to keep telling her no I don't want anything added. i really love this place and these people. I don't like wearing glasses and they made me feel better about doing so. I am treated like a friend....family when I go in there. The staff are so polite and friendly. They help you find the right glasses that fit you and make you feel more comfortable about having to wear them. When speaking with the Optometrist, I felt like they really cared about me being able to see and not go blind. I was explained the entire procedure and the possible effects of not wearing my glasses. I can be extremely stubborn but i was made to feel like i was cared about which helped me to see things in another way then my own. i just love this place and will continue to go there. I recommend that everyone go here. The experience of transitioning into your glasses will be made easily and with love. You can tell these people care about you and your vision.
