I visited Abby Glass several days ago and was greeted by a young fellow with a pleasant greeting and a smile. I explained to him that I brought 2 pieces of window pain glass to be used as templates to cut 2 replacements for the broken ones on my outside post light , the young man said, "there's plenty of people out back and should be able to cut them right up for you". Awesome customer service, which I have received over the years at Abby Glass, both large and small jobs. Well here's where things went drastically wrong, resulting in a 1 star post. Out of nowhere comes a female authoritative figure stating, " if you didn't by it here, or we cut it wrong, it will be 1 -2 weeks " so I as any customer, took it as if she was basically saying ,"I don't want your business". Well both the young fellow and I were taken aback by her statement, to kind of smooth things over, he replied, "probably has to do with the pandemic or something ". The kid was polite and really trying, it turned awkward for both of us and I felt bad for him having 2 sons roughly his age. Keep in mind I live on Cape Cod and numerous times through out the years I've fought summer traffic to get good service, heck I pass at least 3 glass company competitors for Abby's service, not the darn glass, heck I can get that at HD. Which is not only within sight of Abby glass, it is on my way home. In and out of HD in exactly 21 minutes (Thanks to digital watch) . Heck , I bought the glass from them and they cut it for me for free ! Hence the lack of customer service on behalf of the little guy in many cases is why the so called " Ma and Pa " owned operations are fading away. It's not that their products are unique, it's the "hassle-free/personal service " that is what gives you the "edge " over the Big Box store , without it , well... read more

On the Cape for a few days to open a summer house for summer rentals, I live in Florida. I stopped in Abby glass (where I go every year) to get a piece of jelouse glass. I was told it would be 1-1/2 half weeks to cut a piece of glass. I explained that I needed it bad because I had to leave town, and couldn't she please help me out since it would only take 3 minutes to cut the glass and I would be leaving on Friday. Made no difference to her, no compassion to go out of her way even a little bit to help a customer. Bottom line if you want customer service or appreciation for your business go somewhere else. P.S. Went to another glass company in Brewster (Mayflower glass and mirror) and got the piece the next day. They were also busy but went out of their way a little bit to help someone out. read more

Were more than a month late on scheduled install date for 18 window sashes. Were very unfriendly and uncooperative in trying to get the install done as soon as possible after scheduled date even though I was scheduled to leave town to get to a job. Quoted $90 per hour, but when received invoice was billed $180 per hour - noticed in the fine print on the quote that the $90 was per worker. The 2nd worker had never done this type install before so it was an expensive training session although he came up to speed quickly. Once again very unfriendly and uncooperative when told them the bill did not match the quote. Quality of work done was good. Would not hire them again or recommend. read more

I brought my car to have a a windshield replacement for my car and they put in the wrong glass when I told them that it was wrong and that since they put it in I've been having electric problems they made it seem like I did something wrong....yelled at me on the phone,was very rude,no customer service at all,or any kind of professionalism..if you want to be treated like a human being please do not contact them to get your car or anything done by abby glass definitely not the one in Wareham. I will never bring my car back and would tell anyone who would listen to not do so also..never never never...bring to anyone but them..your welcome in advanced... read more
