Do not go here unless you want to get ripped off. I had an extremely disappointing experience at this vet office. I brought my dog in expecting to pay for the office visit, rabies vaccine, and blood panel that were discussed with me beforehand. Instead, I was blindsided with additional charges that were never explained or approved. They performed a SNAP 4Dx test without ever discussing it with me, and they even charged separately just to take my dog's blood pressure something no one mentioned would cost extra. When I questioned the charges, I had to wait almost 40 minutes just to speak with a manager. The only reason they refunded the unauthorized SNAP test was because they "hadn't run it yet," not because I never approved it in the first place. They refused to refund the blood pressure charge even though no one informed me there would be a separate fee for that either. When I questioned it, I was told I "should have asked." I responded by asking if people are charged separately for blood pressure checks at their own doctor's office because most people would reasonably assume it's part of a standard exam. It felt like they were intentionally adding on services to rack up the bill without getting proper consent first. As a pet owner, I expect transparency and communication before being charged for procedures or tests. Hidden fees and surprise charges are completely unacceptable, especially when people are trusting you with both their pets and their finances. I will never come back here and would strongly recommend asking for a detailed breakdown of every single charge upfront if you choose to go here, because they clearly do not communicate costs honestly. read more

made a promotional $25 wellness visit appointment for new patients that stated a 40 minute exam.however when asked if he had any issues i said he had a loose stool .they then wanted to changed the wellness promotion exam to a full price exan of $80. then said they could discount that by 25%.asked to speak to the manager about this bait and switch .she said once there is an issue it is no longer a wellness exam .now it does state in the promo that any additional testing or finding are additional cost. but nowhere does it say if dr finds something wrong such as an ear infection that the promotional price is not valid and now you will be charge a office visit.i walked out and decided to go elsewhere.I rather pay more for a visit with a veterinary hospital that is honest and upfront. side note you must stay in your car in the parking lot till they come and get you.as there is no waiting room read more

We have been taking our dog to Abby Road Vet Hospital since she was a puppy in 2021. We used to have a good opinion of this veterinary practice until our last visit. The vet that works there wanted a urine sample to complete testing because our dog takes Apoquel for allergies, long term. Since this vet practice doesn't want humans inside their facility if the visit isn't for illness, a "new female tech" came out and took our healthy dog inside for the urine sample. When the "new tech" brought our dog out to us, our dog was limping!! The "new tech" said nothing about what happened to our dog after she took her inside. I said "She's limping!" The "new tech" said that our dog was "probably limping because she wants sympathy"! WHAT??? We said that she WAS NOT limping before she was taken inside. We were very upset because the limping was bad. We insisted on having the vet look at her. Well, the vet on duty that day claimed he did look at our dog. The vet claimed that he could not find the reason for her sudden "limping" after a urine sample was taken. The "new tech" was not included in our meeting with the vet. She should have been there since she was the one that took her inside the facility. She should have been honest and told us what happened during extracting urine from our dog, assuming that she is the one that did the extraction. We were not told who did the extraction, but we can only assume that the "new tech" took the sample. The vet repeated several times that he was not present when the injury occurred, so he had no idea what happened. He said that the "new tech" was very qualified. We did not see the "new tech" during our talk with the vet. As I commented previously, the "new tech" should have been there. We didn't see the "new tech" at all after this incident. So, the vet on duty came up with lame excuses. He told us that our dog had a fever and that she could have possibly been bitten by a tick. So, that's why she is limping? Of course not. We think he was trying to get our focus off of her obvious injury caused while taking a urine sample. So, he supposedly ran a test and of course, it was negative. Then he says Collies are known to have joint issues. All of a sudden, she developed joint issues after having a urine sample taken. We are not idiots. And our dog was somewhere in the facility all the while we spoke to the vet. We obviously were not allowed to see her while the vet was with us. Our dog was limping for FOUR DAYS after this incident. I know that accidents happen but, when they do, I expect accountability. There was no accountability for what happened to our dog during this visit. NONE. The vet on duty spoke about trust. We have no trust for this facility after this. Honesty is number one and this facility has failed. The "new tech" should have spoken up, but we have no idea if she said anything to anyone about what caused the injury to our dog. We assumed that she didn't say a word about the incident. Our dog was not limping prior to this visit. If there are security camera videos at this practice, take a look at them. They will show that our dog was NOT limping when she was taken inside. I wanted this incident documented and the vet on duty did not mention that she was injured at the practice in his email. He knew that I wanted it documented in case she had further issues with this injury. My opinion is that the vet on duty was only concerned about himself because he mentioned several times that he was not present when she was injured so he had no idea what happened. Here's an idea, why not ask the "new tech" how our dog was injured? By the way, I wanted to go inside to ask a question while the vet was checking our dogs' injury and they locked the doors so no one could get inside. How rude and ignorant is that? We never did like the way they run their office. Ever since the pandemic, they only allowed pets inside and they liked that idea so, those are still their "rules". No humans allowed unless it's a "sick" visit. If not, stay in your car, even if it's 100 degrees outside and wait until they have time to come out for your pet. When you call the office, a lot of the time the phone is not answered. We are so done with this place. read more

I got very little compassion for the situation i'm in with an older dog with pre-existing conditions. i took in my brother's older dog to help him out during covid. she now needs medical attention beyond an emergency vet center. she had a seizure and most likely has brain cancer. we realize her current medical issue is terminal. we're not looking for a miracle. just somebody we can consult as we decide how to move forward. I don't want a neurologist. I need a vet to do a follow up appointment after being in the emergency clinic. I need somebody to check that her meds are OK and to offer us a way forward, not necessarily in the direction of a neurologist. Worst veterinary place I have ever experienced. The staff is rude and their system is very unprofessional. They overcharge , and take your pat inside with the doctor giving a brief un empathetic phone call from inside. I had an overcharge on my bill which I asked to get refunded for, they said that they cannot do that.... I kept calling them multiple time with no help. My puppy continued having issues even with the medication... and when I called to schedule a FUP they said that they have deactivated my account. I was referred here by a friend because my corgi had an abscessed tooth and my usual vet told us it would be 2.5 weeks before they could see him. The office staff and vet were extremely friendly and were able to see my corgi within 2 days. They gave him antibiotics and pain meds and scheduled him for tooth extractions the next day even though they don't normal do surgery on Fridays. negative stars here!! i've had 3 appt cancellations from this place for a new pet, and only had 2 appts. scheduled. now, i know why they require a deposit on the front end of your first appt, so when they reschedule you a half dozen times, it makes you actually go, even if you are being inconvienced and have no extra time to be meeting their new appt time because their vet called out. in addition, 2+ wks later and i still didnt have an answer on medication for my pet. i wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, not sure how they stay in business with constant cancellations and only m-f hours. read more

Abby Road was our vet since recently switching to a different one. While all the staff was kind enough, I feel that we as pet owners select a vet office just as we would a pediatrician for our children, and expect to know and have a reliable office. After 3 years I have no idea what Dr. Abby even looks likes. The office would post on Facebook "sorry for the inconvenience but we'll be closing at noon" and scheduling appointments didn't come easily, if your animal needed to be seen that day, more times than not they would direct you to an animal hospital. This is why we have a vet. Upon comparing invoicing, my dog has been on long term medication, I was paying $47 through their office for 90 tablets and I was just filled for 360 tablets for $37.90. My office visit was $49, and $65 respectively. While my husband and I BOTH actively took part in every aspect of my dogs appointment. I wasn't worried about asking questions for fear of being elimatated as patient by questioning a medical opinion on MY animal. If you want reliable, and don't want to walk on egg shells without price gauging... look else where. read more

I switched vets after/ during pandemic needing my min pin chihuahua puppies a change in there vet services. ( mind you they are 11) I've been going to abbey rd since....for almost a year now.... Put in an order about a month ago for heart worm and heart guard meds for my dogs. I never got a phone call from abbey Rd needing to have my pets seen prior to this. So the week of needing there next dose of meds.... I reached out. I reached out to Brad which informed me after the 11 years of my dogs taking both of these meds they now need to be tested and made sure that they are working and no issues have been happening with these meds.... Mind you they have all my past records from my last vet prescribing them to them for the last 11 years. Whhhaaatttt. I placed this order moths ago are they now telling me my dogs senior profile blood work and being seen within this last year isn't enough to okay my prescriptions which are in no way threats to humans at all and what so ever can't be filled unless this other step is complete. This has nothing to do with money believe me I've spent thousands of $$ on my babies. But being a patient of this abbey Rd isn't good enough to for them to update meds for my dogs, continuous blood work or apts to be seen in order to do so. I will not suggest going to abbey rd. I will not be giving them anymore of my business due to there rules on what a patient is of a practice and what is not a patient of there practice. And what meds they will fill under there rules and regulations to make you spend more $$ to fill these meds under there rules they don't tell you about prior. Done and done. read more

Dr. Abby took our 8wk English bulldog puppies as new patients. Based on reviews we opted to use this practice. The visit went well she answered all questions. The problem. Our Jules had a UTI and needed antibiotic we left with the Rx and one month of heart worm for each. The problem is you must order online for other medication for flea and tick. The online store is difficult one week later and about 15 phone calls we were not able to have our flea and tick ordered. I received an email stating we were not to return from Brad the office manager. Our baby is scheduled for a recheck later this month. They really don't care if your pet is sick or recovering they want money. The online store as this is a franchise also just wants to make money. The problem is they make it difficult to order don't allow you use. 6mnths dose but want you to order monthly at a higher cost. Very concerned the way they dismissed care to a 8wk puppy with current infection with rearguard to animal health and safety. As a nurse of 30 years we never dismiss patients who are sick or under treatment. Think twice before you choose this clinic. The vet is only ad good as het staff. Brad. Needs in-depth customer service traing. He accused us of cursing at the online customer service representative which was not accurate. Very sad to have this experience with a good vet but horrible franchise. Please be careful when choosing this vet . We now have to find another vet without notice for our sick puppy. Also they are still not covered with flea and tick another health hazard. Very neglect ful choice for a licensed vet. Brad should find another line of work when dealing with living things. If you have to send a client an email and can't call them on a recorded line to dismiss them as patients it's a sign you don't care. Please don't take your pets to this clinic. Can't say enough about how great her staff is too :) Being new to the area and looking for a vet can be stressful, this clinic and staff have made it super easy and I know we've found our vet for the long term. Dr Abby came out to do annuals and vaccines for our elderly cats before the clinic even opened and have been wonderful about following up with our new puppy and all her vaccines and preventative treatments.
