Aura texted us in the morning on Monday to let us know that he was in the area and could pick up my car. We agreed on a time after I got off work and we agreed on a place (near a major home improvement store). When he got close to the area to meet him we met him there. I had already paid a 50% deposit so he took the keys and our car and loaded it onto his really nice rig. Off he went. On Thursday morning he coordinated with my sister and he was able to take it to her office and deliver to that parking lot rather than my driveway so she wouldn't have to take off a lot of work time. I had a decent experience with ABC Auto Shipping itself. It was my first time ever shipping a car, and Arman broke the process down for me and made sure I understood every step. He was able to get my car on a transporter in the timeframe I requested, and I had a great experience with the actual driver of my vehicle. Overall, the process was very smooth. My only complaint is that I was originally quoted $1,200 and up to $100 more per vehicle. My understanding was that I could be liable for up to $1,300 for this shipment. The day before pickup I was notified by Arman that a transporter could do it for $1,400. I told him that that was $100 more than I was quoted, and he stated that I was confused about what I had been quoted and that the quote some how meant up to $1,400 total. I was frustrated, but I needed a transporter. So I expressed my concerns to Arman, and he was able to drop it to $1,350 (still $50 more than I anticipated). My car made it safely to my destination and in the same condition they loaded it up in. I would just make sure to clarify with them and make sure of what they are quoting you because I ended up paying more than I thought I was going to have to. **Addition** I was contacted by Arman and asked to update my review to "reflect the facts," so I am attaching screenshots of our text messages along with a screenshot of the email quote. I also took the time to respond to Arman and ask him to provide me proof that I was ever quoted anything other than "$1,200 & up to $100 more per vehicle." Until then, my review will not change. We first contacted Arman after reading his reviews on Yelp and looking at other companies and agents on various auto shipping websites. We used the "Request A Quote" tab on his web page, and got a response shortly afterward. We had not yet booked a flight to our destination, and weren't certain of a window to request for having our car picked up. I mentioned concerns about the possibility of the driver not arriving before our flight departure, and Arman replied that we could drop the car off at his house for a small fee, and he would get it inspected and loaded. None of the other half dozen companies that we contacted made similar offers. After about 10 days of somewhat hectic planning for our move, we booked a flight, and decided to have a family member, living farther away, ship our car after we left. That person booked shipment with a different company closer to their residence. Arman was very understanding, and continued to provide advice and counseling. So even though we didn't use his services in the end, his continuing straightforward communications and advice were very helpful to us. I am by no means not against a business making money--especially a small business--,but I have an issue when a business portrays an image that is inaccurate. The company conveys a "we have your back if anything happens; your car will be insured" facade. However, if something goes wrong, ABC Auto shipping is likely to claim zero responsibility and excuse itself as only a broker of the transaction, regardless of whatever happens to your vehicle. ABC Auto Shipping offered me $90 as a courtesy for $180 in storage fees I paid because the carrier that was going to pick up my car arrived three days late. I suppose the business hoped the refund would make me remove this review; however, I refused to agree to a quid-pro-quo arrangement. In the end, ABC Auto Shipping back-pedaled on the $90 and cited the service contract as the reason--not a problem. I have been calm, reasonable and cooperative throughout my interactions with a representative of the business and the delay in communication, which is true, was due to a misunderstanding on my end. I shipped my car from Maryland to California in Feb 2023. Car shipping could be a nervous experience. Having no other ways to learn whether a carrier was good or bad, I relied on online reviews. So I did lots of homework forehand and looked for reliable brokers with Yelp / Google reviews etc. Arman did a great job and made this a smooth process. PRE-SHIPPING JAN 16TH - JAN18TH: I contacted Arman on Jan 16th, and I needed to ship the car with a reliable carrier in 5 days. P.S. Jan 16th is Martin Luther King's day, he started a search immediately I told him I need to ship this car ASAP. I paid the $100 fee, then he started working on finding me a carrier. He asked questions regarding the pickup and delivery deadlines. In each communication, he was quite proactive and provided clear instructions. Very responsive and when he negotiated with the carrier it was done quite efficiently. Eventually, he found me a carrier the next day with a contract through email regarding the pickup and delivery and price, etc. The contract was long and came with quite some details of instructions, he made two revisions in the email thread reply so if there were constructive criticism I would recommend just providing a contract with the contents scrutinized to avoid confusion and unnecessary anxiety. This is understandable given we were working on it in a short window. PICK-UP JAN-20TH The carrier is called Unified Auto Transport Corp. Their Yelp review is 3 / 5, so it got me worrying that day whether they will do a great job, it turned out to be a quite smooth process so I am not sure why they had a medium score. I had been called by the driver Jae one day before the pickup as instructed by Arman. Arman gave me the dispatch number as well, if not contacted by them then I can reach out. I had been studying my area for some large parking lots to make the driver's life easier and I send out several locations to the driver. We met at one of the locations. Jae inspected my car, pulled out an inspection sheet to record the condition of my car, and I signed on the paper. The dispatch and the driver were pretty polite and did their job in a professional manner. PRE-DELIVERY JAN-28TH It takes around 7 -10 days to ship my car so the communication was pretty silent between me and Arman. I called once to the dispatch office once I prepared the cash once the car is delivered so I can get it to the driver. Arman texted me on the 27th since the 28th is the first day the car is expected to arrive. And I respect him for it -- he should have earned the broker fee but he reached out to me to give me a head up. DELIVERY JAN - 31ST The car was delivered in 11 days. And I actually don't have any complaints because the dispatch did contact me 24 hours prior to delivery with clear instructions on the location. This is just as expected from what Arman told me. The car has quite some dirt on it. For it has traveled across the country on an open trailer I could expect that. I looked at the tire, and try to nudge the dirt to make sure those were not scratches. The first thing I did was to have a car wash. And the vehicle just was in the same condition as it was shipped on the east coast. SUMMARY I was pretty satisfied with Arman's work. He did a fantastic job in scheduling the transportation and remained professional at each step. The carrier he found was also professional and polite. I used this service based on all the Yelp reviews - big mistake. I wound up paying so much more than I should have. Arman said it would be a extra for the timing that I needed the car to be picked up. Mind you I contacted Arman 2 weeks in advance from my ship date. I spoke to the shipping company and they said they might not be able to pick up the car on time. I told them that I had paid extra to get this done on my timeline. They were surprised and said they had given Arman a $100 discount. As soon as Arman received the money he tried to wipe his hands of answering questions. There was a possibility that my car would not be picked up on time. It was his job to communicate with the trucking company to let them know that I would be leaving a day after the car was picked up, but instead I had to explain this to the trucking company because Arman failed to communicate. Oh that is why he told me I was pay more because of my tight schedule the same schedule the trucking company knew nothing about... It turns out he lied and the shipper was getting $400 and $400 was going to Arman. So I paid $800 in total. I understand paying a $200 commission, but not $400 for a person that just makes phone calls. Save yourself some time and money and do not use a broker. I understand a $200 commission, but not $400 and lying to me and saying I had to pay more when he pocketed the $100 discount. Unethical and don't tell me I had a contact Arman. A contract is not an excuse to rip off another person!!!!!!! Arman complaines that I don't follow instructions...
