My husband and I have been going to this dentist office for over a year and have had the best care by Dr. B that I have ever had in Contra Costa County. These people are crooks. Stay away. First off, they charged me $17 just to be seen. Red Flag right there. So I needed a crown, they told me my insurance wouldnt pay for it. Quoted me almost 2 grand to get it done. It's ALWAYS smart to get a second opinion, I went to Diablo Hill Dental and it was NO CHARGE to be seen, and big surprise, they accepted my Insurance no problem. ABC just wants to burn your wallet. The receptionist at the front was SO RUDE ! You walk in and she acts and looks like she hates her job. Roz from Monsters Inc. has a better attitude than her. I do not recommend this place and would advise anyone to think twice before making an appointment here. If you do, remember this is a COSMETIC practice and their priority is on making money with no regard to client care. The staff was very friendly when confirming my insurance and taking my money; they kept mentioning what GREAT insurance I had (red flag). I'm 30 years old and have never experienced a toothache in my life. I came in for a cleaning and after 2 and a half hours of waiting, I was consulted instead for Invisalign and told to come back another day for a cleaning. Against my better judgement, I came back and was told I needed some cavities filled. It had been a while since I've been to a dentist so I trusted and believed Dr. K and paid almost $800.00 upfront to get this done. After the cleaning and fillings, I had a swollen face for a week and I've been in pain with toothaches and headaches everyday since my appointment which was in February! I tried to leave amicably to go to another dentist and get a second opinion on what was done but Dr. k and his supervisor Vicky were far from gracious. They made it so difficult for me to get my X-Rays and still charged me $30 so I can have copies of my own X-rays, they didn't offer any type of refund. Instead, I received a condescending and insulting call from the dentist as well as a sarcastic remark that I must be a 1 in 1000 case of someone who has a reaction to composite fillings. He did offer to try and fix what he did but after the horrible experience I would never step foot in there again. I regret coming here and I advise anyone not to trust this practice either! read more

The receptionists are rude, the dentists push a bunch of unnecessary treatments on you like you're at a used car sales lot, they do not notify you of changes to their participation in your insurance, even when that means your costs are 20% higher. When i called the office to discuss the changes in my dress, Vicky was rude, condescending, and hung up on me when she didn't like my response. Very unprofessional, unethical, uncaring. I recently had a root canal treatment done and it was such an excellent experience! The staff were friendly, the dentist himself (Dr. K) was really chill, experienced, and gave me such a quick and painless procedure since this was done on a front tooth and I was shocked by how fast it went (less than 30 minutes even!) I listened to music during it all and before I knew it they were done and I was good to go. They really take extra great care of you to make sure that you're in good hands with them, I'd recommend this practice to folks out there who opt for quick procedures like them, worth it 100% read more

My family and I have been commuting from the East Bay to ABC dental in Antioch for many years now, so it's unfortunate that we encountered an unpleasant experience today. My father was scheduled for a crown procedure at 4 o'clock today. Stuck in traffic, he called the office to let them know he was running late, which to the employee said was fine. Soon after, he received a call from the office and was told that they could not longer take him in (understandable), but that he still had to come in to fill out some paper work and give a co-payment. Once there, the employee with red/brownish hair stated that she could not schedule an appointment for my father unless he gave a co-payment for the procedure -which my father had no problem with. However, it turns out that the "co-payment" was not actually a co-payment and instead, it was $470 for a procedure he had not undergone yet! To be clear, my father did not have an issue with giving a co-payment. The problem here is that the employee refused to give him an appointment unless he payed $470 dollars upfront which has never happened to us before. Not only did he have to commute two hours -with traffic- to get there. Once, he was there, the staff were unkind and turned him away. As a result, we're forced to look for another dental care provider. read more

I called to have my sons braces removed. Since we relocated here, we have not had funds to continue his care. I explained this when I called for an appointment. They said come in for a consultation and we will give you an estimate. We went for the consultation and Dr. Abolfazlian said he would remove them and that he was sending someone in to discuss price. However, when the woman entered, she said they will not remove them unless they put their own on. The exact opposite of what the doctor said! When I asked why I was getting two different stories, she said the doctor doesn't tell patients these things. Update: I am updating my one star review. Dr. K reached out to us immediately! He called and apologized for the confusion and scheduled an appointment to help my son. He sincerely wants patients to have a positive experience and worked with us to find a solution to help my son. I went in for a cleaning and some unexpected repair work on the back tooth that was extracted all of that went great I had a crown put in the fronts due to replace table so I'll be a bad guy so I'm giving him five out of five stars about the doctor and that is what grade are used to new technology to help the ground which is great. read more

Ok so I needed to get work done and I was willing and ready to do everything they said I should get done until I really went in depth on the pricing! They were forcing me to get a cleaning because they wanted me to pay out of pocket! They try and charge you for things that your insurance doesn't cover by they way is optional work ! He then tried to put me off because I didn't want to pay for two teeth cleanings and all I needed was an extraction! They're all about money and you can go in there and everything you need done in your mouth your insurance covers so the dentist will then look for anything possible for you to pay out of pocket ! They work does not last , my cap came off and before that the tooth had already go infected and this was 3yrs ago ! Find another dentist abc ain't it ! I am very happy I found this dental office. My wife actually found it. She went to ABC dental to get a crown. She was telling me how happy she was with the whole team there. She knew I was looking for a dental office for some work I wanted to have done. So I made an appointment and have been so pleased. From the time I walk in till I leave. When I arrive I am always greeted with a happy face. I always arrive early. They seem to have me come in almost right away anyway. They get me settled in. Go over what the visit is about and what questions I have. Dr khayatan is the best dentist I have ever had. He is very clear about what he suggests and why. He gives you options from type of procedure to timeline. He tells you everything to expect. When he is actually performing the work he makes sure you are comfortable. There was a time I still had a little discomfort while he was working and I just raise my left hand and he stops. Asks me about the discomfort and the gives me some more anasteisia. This was very important to me. I dont do well with pain and especially dental pain. Overall I cant say enough good things about Dr khayatan Another person I do want to mention is Vicky. she runs all the numbers gives all the options down on paper for you. She gives you all the financial info. She shows you how she uses your insurance benefits to your full advantage. She is very accommodating. When I had multiple appointments scheduled she would call me if they had an opening to see if I wanted to come earlier. I really appreciate that. Yesterday I called about moving forward with some more work. I asked how quickly i would be able to come in. She told me they just has someone cancel and so I have an appointment today!! My 5 year old had an appointment this afternoon, it was quite possibly the worst experience we have ever had. The dental assistant could clearly tell she was going to have a difficult time (my son has had some dental work done, so he's not too fond of the dentist) and she was not afraid to show it. She was most definitely unpleasant, but I commend her for at least making an effort. The dentist, I believe her name was Dr. Hamed, decided to intervene during the cleaning, right when the dental assistant got him to calm down. He saw the tool in her hand, and once again my son became difficult. After his first cry, she decided that the appointment needed to be over and suggested that we see a dentist that specializes in children. She had spent maybe 5 minutes with him?! Now my suggestion to you, Dr. Hamed, if you do not specialize in children, do not schedule appointments with children. I'm sure there are children far less difficult that my son, but I am also sure that there are children far more difficult. read more

Our experience was very negative so beware and always shop around as much as possible. My daughter in law called ahead and they told her that they accepted our insurance plan with Cigna and yet we still paid $225 (they claimed it would have cost $460 otherwise!!!!) just for a cleaning and x-rays. They then proceeded to tell her that she needed 8 fillings for $1300. We asked for a copy of the x-rays and they charged us an additional $25 for that (not sure that's even legal). We went to a different dentist with those same x-rays for a free second opinion. Turns out she only needed 3 fillings and the cost would only be $380. It is my opinion that they are running a racket here to rip off new patients. Very disappointed. read more
