ABC Dental rocks! They are very sweet and caring people. It hurts me to see the other poster say that he was treated poorly. But if you look at his other opinions, they are all one star and mean spirited. Maybe he was not treated as well as they treat everyone else but my guess would be that was rude to them as he is to all the other businesses that he rated so low. I shopped around before choosing a orthodontist. I figure that if I have to see them for 20 minutes every month for two years they have to be good people. I was thrilled to meet the dentist, orthodontist and all of the assistants at ABC. They are very patient and explain everything. I did not choose them solely on the price but they were $1000 cheaper than the other orthodontist. They are also super understanding about adjustments and reglueing brackets. I have been a customer at ABC Dental over 10 years and I love this place. Staff are extremely friendly and the place is very clean. Dental office is not my favorite place to go; I will try to put it off as long as I can. Also I am very picky on having the right person to work in my mouth. THIS IS A LENGTHY REVIEW. If you are considering going to this practice, it will be worth your time to read this review. It will save you pain, time, and money. Cliff notes: This practice will try to sell you and upsell you on dental treatments that you may not need immediately. They lie to insurance. When their staff screw up, they do not take ownership. They offer a $25 discount for positive yelp reviews. Long version: I was seen by Dr. Hamed for a check up on 2/12/19. During that checkup, Dr. Hamed told me that my most urgent issue was to have a crown replaced immediately on a back lower tooth (#32). Once I said the crown was put on in 2014, suddenly, that crown wasn't so bad after all. It turns out my insurance will only allow a crown on the same tooth every five years. Miraculously, that crown would be just fine until 2020. Now, Dr. Hamed says my new most urgent issue is a crack in tooth #18. Guess what it needs? A crown or better still, a bridge. After Dr. Hamed convinced me that my teeth would start moving causing other, more severe issues, I agreed to go with the bridge. I get Care Credit of $600 plus another $632 on top of that on my card to cover the cost of the bridge. I set the appointment for the bridge prep on 2/16/19. On 2/16/19, I have been numbed in several places and have almost two hours of drilling, pulling, and scraping on the tooth when Dr. Hamed stops prepping my tooth for the bridge because she can't do it. First, she says, I need to have a root canal on the tooth and THEN I can have the bridge put on it. She has already drilled the top of the tooth completely away so she puts a temporary filling into the tooth until I can return for the root canal. When I go to schedule the root canal appointment I'm informed that my insurance benefit has already been maxed out on the bridge, so the cost of the root canal is 100% out of pocket. The cost is $718. I am pissed, numb, and bleeding. I argue that since the root canal will happen first, insurance should be billed for the root canal first. Then I ask if I can have the crown I was originally offered instead of the bridge. She says no because the tooth has already been prepped for the bridge. The next day, on 2/17/19, the temporary filling comes completely out. The nerve in that tooth is fully exposed. Compounding my pain are the injection sites from the anesthetic right at my jaw hinge. I am in pain that is indescribable. The following day, on Monday 2/18/19, against my better judgement and driven by excruciating pain, I go into the office and swipe my card for another $718 to cover the cost of the root canal. The root canal is scheduled for 2/19/19. The root canal goes as planned and I get a temporary crown. Afterwards my temporary crown falls off multiple times and is reglued multiple times. The swelling is still very bad also. Dr. Hamed tells me that what I'm experiencing is normal. By 2/23/19, I cannot open my mouth AT ALL. I chopping food down to the size of a pinhead and pushing it my mouth and swallowing it whole. I AM UNABLE TO CHEW, TALK, YAWN, BRUSH, FLOSS. I go back to multiple appointments, Dr. Hamed keeps telling me everything is normal. I call insurance to select another dentist. Delta Dental informs me that ABC Dental billed for and was paid for my permanently cemented bridge. The claim states that it had been cemented on 2/16/19. After talking to the agent, Delta Dental begins an investigation based on the fraudulent claim filed by ABC Dental. Out of nowhere, I get a call from Dr. K. He introduces himself as Dr. Hamed's boss and says ABC Dental is his practice. I realize that they must have gotten the letter regarding the investigation and are in panic mode because the permanent bridge is still at their office because I still cannot open my mouth wide enough for them to get it in. They're panicking because the insurance is demanding proof that it was cemented; proof they cannot provide. Dr. K explains that my jaw was stretched open for back to back appointments (2/16 and 2/19) which caused inflammation and a mild form of TMJ. He prescribes a muscle relaxer and a rinse to reduce inflammation and swelling on the tooth. In Dr. Hamed's haste to get my money and file the fraudulent insurance claim for services, she willfully and intentionally disregarded my health. Dr. K told me that those procedures should NOT have been scheduled so closely together. On 4/18, I got a call from Dr. K to call my insurance and let them know the bridge is cemented and I'm satisfied. Yesterday, I just received my grievance outcome letter from Delta Dental; I won. Delta Dental is demanding a full refund from ABC Dental and says I would have to pursue them with a civil action to get a refund. I see that Dr. K likes to respond to reviews. I hope he does. I will upload all of my appointment papers, the claim with the false dates, and the letter from Delta Dental. DO NOT COME HERE. read more

DO NOT GET TREATMENT HERE !!! Came here a couple months ago due to a tooth ache .Doctor determined I needed a crown . The day of the procedure the Dr said she was doing the crown on the molar which was different from the one I was complaining about. She said that specific molar was the one with the "large decay " so I let her do the procedure . A week later I went in because the pain due to the crown was unbearable and was keeping me up at nights . The doctor then said I needed a root canal . I asked her why she never explained what to expect after the procedure and she said "it's all on the consent form " turns out the pain was really coming from the Crown which went away in 3 weeks and if I would've took her advice she would've performed a root canal on a molar that does NOT need a root canal . I also told her I was never coming back and she said "well your pain will never go away unless you get a root canal " please do your research before coming here patient satisfaction is everything they will not be able to provide that here . read more

I wouldn't give this place any stars because their service was horrible. First off I was not greeted, and the receptionist talked to me like she was doing me a favor. The place looks run down and unwelcoming. It took about 40 minutes for me to get xrays, then another 30 for the dentist to see me. He let me know I had cavities, and I've seen my xrays a million times, the xrays didn't look like my teeth at all. He then told me someone was going to help me with the pricing. After giving me a speech about how I should get braces. I told him I wasn't interested now, and it's my own fault because I haven't worn my retainers, he kept pressing the subject. Then the woman came and also pushed the braces, I finally had to raise my voice and tell her I wasn't interested. Then the dental hygienist came in and barely touched my teeth, all she did was talk about braces and how I need them urgently. I only came here because I moved from SF and no longer am covered by my parents insurance. If not I would of stayed at my old dentist. I regret not looking around more because it felt like a kid was playing dentist with my teeth. Are staff suppose to email telling you to remove your reviews? The staff at ABC dental needs to be educated on how to book an appointment ! I made an appointment and when I checked in, the receptionist said they do not accept my insurance and that they tryed to call. She repeated my phone number to me which was a number ive never had. When i spoke to the girl on the phone who booked my appointment she assured me my insurance was covered. Brittany was wonderful. I have very sensitive teeth. Usually I white knuckle the cleanings. I've had facial fillings in an attempt to decrease sensitivity. Yes, it's true that I have only reviewed things when they are either spectacular or horrendous. I think that's actually pretty typical for most people who don't review on Yelp very frequently. My experience with ABC Dental was, obviously, horrendous. As for the "rude" comment, I've never met a single person in my entire life who would call me rude. I was worried when I first drove up to the offices, since it is located in a pretty dumpy part of town beside a closed down shopping center. However, the actual office is nice and clean. I was promptly admitted and the hygenist who took care of me (I believe her name is Brittney) as very friendly and efficient. As a bonus, she may have been the only hygenist I have been to that did not draw blood when cleaning my teeth. My teeth are very close together, which makes floss "pop" into my gums, which can be pretty painful sometimes. The dentist was also efficient and professional. He fixed a crown which had been pushing on its opposing tooth and causing inflammation. He was able to diagnose and take care of the problem very quickly. I was impressed! read more

I'm 58 years old and I've had over 10 crowns, a 3 tooth bridge, and a dental implant done for me over the years. These procedures were all done by our family dentist. His work was outstanding, however, he retired so we had to choose a new dentist. When my bridge needed to be replaced I chose a dentist that ended up failing twice to make me a new bridge! I had to move on to another dentist and just hope I was getting a quality dentist like my former dentist who retired. That's when I chose the ABC Dental Group and met Dr. Khayatan. I had Dr K give me a 3 tooth dental implant bridge to put an end to my bridge troubles. Not only is Dr. K a top performing dentist but his assistants are quality performers as well based on the dental work done on my wife, my son as well as myself. They lie and cheat you. you will go in for a cleaning and they will say you have a lot of work that has to be down NOW and you get it done. Then in a few years you will have to go back and have there work fixed. They will not give x-rays of the teeth that are hurting or having problems. I went a picked up a copy of there x-rays and the OWNER said they were before and after pics. So i took them to the board and to a new dentist and then i was informed they were only after pictures. I came in with a horrible infection in my tooth and the dentists here did the best they could to prevent a root canal, as opposed to just saying it was a root canal and charging me. Wasted my time today going to this dentist. I printed out a coupon from their website for a $75 consultation. After I got there and tried to use the coupon I was told I couldn't use it with insurance. I don't have full insurance. Absolutely nowhere on the coupon page did it say CASH ONLY. What's particularly telling is that another dentist I called afterward was running a special too, but his special price could be applied to insurance. Bottom line: if your damn coupons apply to cash only payment, say so. Maybe it's an innocent mistake but it still has the same bait-and-switch scam effect.
