Koren was super pleasant to work with all around. Fast, clear communication before the initial meeting. A lot of a great ideas during the initial meeting, for how to keep our project within budget, and where it was worth splurging or dialing back. We had requested a bid on two main projects (Kitchen and Primary Bathroom) and help deciding the scope for the remainder of our projects (Flooring, Guest Bath, Office, Patio, Etc.). We were shocked by how much of the "bonus" projects we could fit in, and yet felt very confident with Koren's insights that these were realistically within our budget. The formal quote came in REALLY fast after our meeting, and was very easy to follow and extremely fairly priced. Daniel ran the job and was fantastic as well. He had great insights, let me nag him about every possible question I could come up with, was flexible if I had any changes of heart about this or that, extremely easy to work with. All of his subs were top notch, which I can say as a business owner in the construction field myself is extremely rare. Plumbing, electrical, waterproofing, tile work, all were fantastic. He's surrounded himself with great people that get the job done right the first time. They didn't bat an eyelash at the art deco tile or the smart valves or any other unusual items I sent their way, they knocked it out with ease. We hired a Forensic Tile Specialist to come in to assess prior to filing suit to be fair to all parties involved. We knew work was bad however what was found truly reflected what we already knew-his "work" was a complete tear out and redo. His new positive reviews were an act of desperation as his court date neared. If this man has left you with incomplete, below standard work, don't be scared to stand up for yourself. We are thrilled justice was fairly served. We hired Luis who owns River City Fabricators in April to replace our countertops in the kitchen and two bathrooms plus replace our kitchen and bathroom backsplash. He told us 3 days to complete. It took 9 and job was not completed. He showed up late everyday but day one. Always left mid day for at least two hours. He asked for a draw a few days in which was not in the contract. We are nice people so we gave him a check. The day after he "finished", we went out of the country. As soon as we returned, we reached out with quite a list of corrections and damage repair that needed to be done. We even brought in a very experienced contractor to get his feedback on the work. He said it was a tear out and redo, the work was way below industry standard. Backsplash looks like a drunk toddler installed it. Very visible seams in countertops with an island piece measured and cut wrong. Big chip in quartz made by his worker. Damaged our marble in primary bathroom. Smeared grout and sealant on walls. Damaged our cabinets and walls. We have given Luis 7 months to make this right. Originally, he agreed to correct his botched work and fix things that looked bad. 7 months have gone by and we get nothing but dates he doesn't show up and excuses. He is very rude to me in communication. Our money was wasted on this. No value to work. Asked me to make a list of what he needed to fix so we can sign it and move forward. Now he refuses because he knows he is in the wrong. He emailed me today saying it's just a few crooked tiles, that's it. He is not happy we are calling him out on his terrible work. When Jovanne came out to estimate the project, he was friendly, knowledgeable, and confident in his abilities, as well as his team's ability to deliver the best outcome for me. A week later, I was on the schedule and Jovanne came out to begin grading my front yard with a skid. The man is an absolute surgeon with that machine. Although he worked quickly, he was very detail oriented and paid close attention when digging near the house foundation. The next day, Anthony and the rest of the crew came out to do the final laser guided grading and put down seed and erosion blankets. The final product is exactly what I was hoping for and Jovanne understood that right from the beginning. Communication with Janet and Shan was great.
