I rarely leave bad reviews but I feel the need to warn others of my experience with Jamie and ABC Printing. I found him on Yelp and asked to print invitations for my wedding. I sent him the file and asked to see samples of card stock options. Every time I was told I could come into the office, there would be no one there. I'd email again, wait days for a reply and only was offered for him to leave something at reception. The order was time sensitive so I didn't have time to look around so I proceeded with working with them despite the extreme unprofessionalism and poor communication. I asked to have samples printed in 4x6 and 5x7 so I can pick the final size, to which he replied that the order was already printed in 5x7. So fine, I sent my fiancé to pick them up as I was out of town. He referred to him as a messenger and made him wait 45 min for them to cut them as they were not actually ready. My fiancé isn't very design oriented so he paid and brought them home. When I finally saw them I was appalled. It looked like I printed them at home and cut them by hand. The edges were uneven and the sizes were inconsistent. When I emailed Jamie a photo and asked him to help, he declined and said "no refunds" despite them being unusable. I'm embarrassed at the amount of time I spent communicating with them only to get low quality work and a rude attitude despite the many trips to his office when he was not there. Not sure about all these positive reviews but I would go elsewhere. Especially if your job is important or time sensitive. Look at the photos, they speak for themselves. If you have a complex printing project anywhere in the Los Angeles area, you owe yourself a conversation with Jamie. Do not be fooled by the humble storefront on Wilshire.  ABC Printing does amazing work, is meticulous with detail, fairly priced and fast. They own a printing facility in the South Bay and can turn your job around expeditiously.   I had a complex rush job and when I went to pick it up, Jamie was personally finishing the binding himself.  He was very responsive via email and phone - even after hours.  Please support local business like ABC Printing.  I don't know precisely how many years Jamie has been in business but I can tell you quite confidently that if he doesn't know how to do your job it probably cannot be done. read more

The West LA Location is not operating because of Covid-19, so they fabricated my item at another location and shipped it, which was great. I sent the a public domain design of a face-shield frame I found online that I wanted made. They quoted me, I revised the design which they accommodated for me, and they fabricated it quickly and accurately. They did a really nice job, and were great about communication, which mattered a lot, because I wasn't going to be able to walk in to the local storefront and face-to-face with them. read more

My fiance and I needed wedding programs and schedule slips printed within 10 days. I was extremely nervous because our pdf did not have any bleeds so the print and cut would have to be very exact. Jamie said it wasn't a problem, and sure enough he delivered precisely what we wanted three days ahead of schedule. Every program was perfect. Definitely call ahead to make an appointment. I was very lucky the first time I visited without calling- I ran into Jamie in the elevator! The building's doors do not have numbers, so you may have to call again to make sure you're at the right office. As we were planning our wedding, my fiancée decided to handle the design and art production of our invitations. The problem was we wanted and needed someone to do the thermography, finishing, and the actual production. I initially emailed a request in the late afternoon and received an immediate phone call the next morning. Jamie is professional, amicable, and responsive. He provided additional details and options for the card stock weight and color that would best fit what I envisioned for my invitations and RSVP cards. After having already looked around at other stores, the apparent choice was ABC Printing and Graphics, especially for its reasonable prices for top of the line quality and turnaround time. Jamie meticulously walked me through the printing process from viewing a hard copy sample to examining the fine and precise details of the finished product. It's been over a week now and I'm still fuming as I write this review... Initially, I was excited that this place is full service printer and in my neighborhood. I'm a designer with over ten years of experience and have worked with dozens of printers in the past. I had my invitations designed exactly like I wanted--paper chosen, envelopes purchased, etc. I decided to give these guys a shot based on their positive reviews, however, I now realize that a lot of those reviews are either solicited or fake. The end result? Sloppy. The invitations were not cut properly. The envelope liners were printed with a blue cast and cut so that there was a white border on the left edge. I even allowed a 1/8" bleed on my file, which means the cut was either off by 1/4" or they didn't set up the print right. Either way, HUGE disappointment. I think Kinkos would've done a better job. MY SERVICE EXPERIENCE On my first visit on a Monday morning, they were closed. I called Jamie and he said that they were "training" new employees so he wasn't there. Since they close before I get off of work, I decided to wait. I ended up waiting about 45 minutes before he opened. He apologized and seemed nice about it so I wasn't too annoyed. A few days later, I stopped by again at the same time. They were closed. I called and received the same excuse. "Training", huh? I wish I could go back in time and tell myself to trust my instincts and run away as far as possible. BUT since I'm an idiot and ignored all of the signs, I placed an order to get 160 envelopes, liners, and invitations printed. He charged me about $700 for everything which is really steep, considering I did all of the design work and all they had to do was print the damn things. In a nutshell: - I was never given an invoice - Jamie said he was only charging me for the paper he had to special order, but then charged my card the full amount and afterwards stated that if I wasn't satisfied that I would get my money back - The guy who sets up the files (Steve) doesn't know how to use excel or indesign. Are you kidding me?!!! I had to troubleshoot issues and basically teach him how to do it over the phone. COMPLETELY unacceptable. Not to mention, he had a huge attitude problem. - They couldn't print the addresses on the envelopes because it was wrinkling. He suggested that I press out the wrinkles with my finger which looked horrendous. It's unfathomable as to how that was an acceptable solution. The cherry on top: When I said I would print the envelopes myself at home, he couldn't even find the packs of envelopes I initially gave him to give back to me. He even sarcastically said "if you had come earlier, I could've given them to you". Sorry that I have a full-time job. Jamie said that he would drop them off at my place the next morning around 9am. Fine. Next day rolls around and I don't hear anything from Jamie until 11:30am. I called him to ask about the envelopes, and he said he was going to be there soon. When I asked what time, he HUNG UP ON ME. I thought we might've gotten disconnected, so I immediately called back again. I asked the same thing, got an answer, started talking again, and then--HUNG UP ON AGAIN. The funny thing is that I was trying to tell him that I was nearby and could stop by the shop. Furious, I decide to swing by the shop just to end this terrible nightmare. Guess what? NOBODY WAS THERE AGAIN. I ended up having to wait for him about 30 mins more until he finally showed up. After having my wedding invitations designed, I was researching online printing services (the usuals: Wedding Paper Divas, Zazzle, Vistaprint, Minted, CatPrint, etc.) and came across a few strong recommendations to try local print shops. As most know, the aforementioned online sites continuously have some type of sale or discount promo, so I was skeptical that a small brick and mortar could be competitive, especially given the 30% discount that I would have had with Wedding Paper Divas (WPD was the frontrunner since it seemed to be the only place that offered the 240 lb., 35 pt thickness cardstock). People, run to ABC, do not think twice. Not only did they offer thicker cardstock, but their price put WPD to shame. You know how you get nickel and dimed with every little add-on with wedding stationery? Not at ABC. I was going to hand stamp each of my invitations with a stamp; when Jamie saw what I was planning to do, he suggested that I send him the stamp JPEG so that he could just print it on the invite, free of charge. I wanted a specific font found only on an indie design website for the guest names on the envelopes, Scot downloaded it. I had to make a lot of last minute changes to addresses after I had sent the final file, not a problem. Would I like them to add our return address to the back flap of the envelopes free of charge? Is this a trick question? There were probably 5 instances where Jamie nonchalantly asked if I would like a certain feature without upcharging me, and I, being so accustomed to absolute garbage service and/or getting dinged for custom add-ons, just kind of stared back for a moment in bafflement before I could respond. Guys, when I went to pick everything up, the invitations were yet to be cut, and Jamie offered to home deliver my invitations later that day (I live about 3 miles away). My jaw was on the floor. TL; DR - Do not get tricked by online print/stationery website "discounts" or "sales." ABC Printing offers better prices and better quality than what you'll find online. Unusually excellent customer service that inspired me to write a mini novel. Very strongly recommend. read more

Dropped by this place on my way back to my car from tailoring a dress at Gustavo's, because the guy at Kinko's was a jerk. I'm glad I stepped in because the two guys working there were really nice and helped me with my custom print job. I had brought my own paper, because I wanted something really thick and heavy (300 lb) but they had one that was similar but BETTER! We ended up trying the print on both types of paper and I decided their semi-gloss looked better. :) I decided to make some edits to my image, so they have me their card so I could email in the file to be printed instead of having to come in in person. So convenient! After the consultation, I called Kinko's to get a price quote on a similar thing - all color 11x17 prints are slightly cheaper at Kinko's, but they require standard sizes and have a really small paper selection (hence me buying my own in the first place). ABC Copy & Print was so much easier to work with, and obviously their paper selection pleased me. I'll be back to print my final product for sure. read more

Came to these guys with some last minute printing requests that FedEx couldn't do. This company completely opened my eyes to how a printing company should be. Customer service 100% amazing. They did a test print of the job in front of me, made sure I liked it and made sure they could do it before the time I needed them by. Jamie was of great help. We had to print a very small amount of greeting cards within a very short time frame. We weren't sure of what option was best, given that small productions can get quite expensive. His precious advices helped us getting what we needed without having to spend a crazy amount of money. Jamie is a god-send. I'm a graphic designer / gallery & exhibit assistant working for a gallery called Taiwan Academy L.A. in Westwood, and we were lucky to have contacted ABC Printing and Graphics for the brochures, flyers and the posters that we needed for the exhibit. We needed these promotional materials in a pinch, and Jamie was very friendly and speedy in receiving our designs and printing them. Even with the digital printing option (we had to because of time constraints), the quality was impressive. Saturated, bright colors on really nice, sturdy cardstock recommended and provided by them. From placing the order to receiving the digitally printed brochures and flyers, the whole process only took about two working-days. For a large order like ours it was quite a pleasant surprise. Jamie is very knowledgeable about the printing process, and very honest about the price differences. He suggested the higher quality and cheaper Press Printing method to us if we weren't in a rush, and offered to press our brochures for a better fold. Overall a very enjoyable experience. This is the least professional printing company I ever used. Comments like first-class organization, professional, affordable are just some clues that make me suspect that their reviews are either fake or solicited. When I contacted this company to print two sets of architectural plans they quoted me $5 a page for 24" X 36" because it was the holidays and next day would just cost more. I asked how much would it cost to wait and they said $3. I said I would wait, only to receive the phone call two hours later with good news- the plans would be ready the next day. I could not help but think that I would have paid almost twice as much for the plans if I opted for a next day service. The plans were put together by my drafter so I did not have the count of pages. I paid what Jamie, the owner, asked for, as I never ever had any issues with printing companies when it comes to number of pages and paying. When I came to pick up the plans they were not completely printed. Because I live 45 minutes away I suggested I would wait somewhere in Westwood for them to print them and Jamie suggested he has a delivery service to drop them off at the restaurant. That was two blocks away from his shop, and I thought that was very nice from him. They dropped off the plans and when I got home and looked at them, I realized the plans were not correctly printed (many pages missing, and some doubles) and that I overpaid them over $200. Few months later I was still trying to print more stuff there because after going back and forth with Jamie, I realized I will never get my money back. On the last print job, I was about 10 pages over the $200 credit I was trying to use. He charged me $5 a page. When I complained later on the phone, saying that these same pages cost $3, he said that he has right to charge whatever he wants, and that I am not the one who sets the price. I went here to print out wedding invitations and let me just say that these guys were awesome. We needed wedding invitations printed out as soon as possible so we can send them out as soon as possible. They had no problem working with me and even suggested that if they didn't finish the prints, to come back the next day to pick them up even though they would've been closed that day. We had a little miscommunication about the number of prints needed, but the manager gave us no extra charge for the extra prints. He just wanted to make sure that I got what I was looking for and the prints came out even better than we thought they would. I highly recommend this place for professional color prints!! read more
