This is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE MARKET. The Chilean Sea Bass price is ridiculous. So is the filet mignon price. Also the fresh ground beef & pork (for meatloaf) is very inexpensive all the time. This is my one stop shop for fish & exotic meats. They clean up the fish for you and even deep fry the fish for you if you want for free. This is great for someone who wants a quick healthy meal or just can't cook lol. I rated 5 stars for the cleanness, the friendly service, and the food selection of food-to-go section. They recently have new stirred-fried pho item that they only make on the weekends. That's my favorite and I always stop by early to get it as it got sold out very quickly. Definitely a good market in the neighborhood for those who love to cook and those who hate cooking. I have 1 start for the cleanliness and the freshness of their goods, the down point is their management. They should fire the old fat lady at the lottery counter. Here is why: - I have been to this market since it opened. The cashier are very nice and friendly, even tho they are kind of slow, but I didn't expect much since they hire 35~50 years old employees which I understand they may be slow. This entire grocery store is extremely rude and problematic. Tell me if it's acceptable to ask a customer if the fresh meat she is buying is to feed dogs. Horrible customer service. I don't expect to receive a decent customer service in a supermarket, but the cashier lady that helped me out was so rude. I asked her for a change and she looked at me angrily without saying anything. When I asked her why didn't she gave me the change, she raised her voice and said a bunch of non-sense stuffs with a mad face. I told her that's enough, I got it already and she kept raising her voice. When I packed my stuffs to leave, she told the next customer what was just happening with a loud voice. I bought a lotto ticket and wondered to the manager why that lady acted like that, and the manager told me" I see that" without looking at me. This is the lunar new year, greeting your customers with a happy voice and explaining what the customer don't understand are normal act of kindness. Today we decided to go shopping at this supermarket for foods. At the checkout. The cashier lady didn't even ask us if we want to buy a bags for our groceries items. Anyway when we ask for two bags. She charge us 20 cents for the two bags and then she threw the bags at us and then she push all our groceries items down the end. Anyway we bags our groceries and left the supermarket. This market is close to my home so it's convenient, I come when I need certain Asian vegetables or condiments. However, some of the "butchers" are very rude and lazy, as almost every time we'd asked for meat that needed to sliced by machine, they'd throw fits and even heard one curse out loud in Vietnamese once. In addition, they throw the meat at you and I have seen some questionable health safety violations like putting raw meat directly on scales & meat left in slicer machine. Reminds me of a Ranch 99 store. You can find the same products here as you would there. A lot of fresh veggies and fruits. Their seafood department is great. You can get live lobsters or fish. If I could give this place a 0 star I would I went in today before I can go shopping my 6 year old son had to go bathroom really bad. We asked for code and got sent to customer service. The security guard comes over refusing to let my son get the code for the restroom because he said it was for paying customer. I explained that we would go shopping as soon as my son finished using the restroom. He was rude to me refused to give me his name and they refuse to give me access to someone in charge or a corporate number. So hell no I would not give them my money after all that!!! I usually come here just for fried fish. Grab a plastic tray, plastic bag for your hands, pick your fish and hand it to the guys. Crispy fish in about 15-20 minutes depending how many people are ahead of you. Tried the hot a la carte station a few times as well. Good prices and quick meals when you don't feel like cooking. Don't get intimidated with the menu since its not in English. Ladies behind the counter are very friendly and will explain and describe the items. Found this place by accident, I was looking for Dollar Tree store in the same area (closed down). The security guard was friendly when I walked in. There is a hot food section but no name labeled on the dishes so I do not have an idea what were the dishes. This is more an Asian grocery store. I found my favorite Tou Fu pudding being sold here. There were still warm. Yum! Yum! Another interesting thing I found here was the traditional mouse trap with no instruction for less than $5 bucks. Lol Since I tried the glue traps ( Mouse took off with it) & snap traps (Mouse took the cheese but did not trigger the trap, must be a Smart Mouse!) from 99 cents store did not work why not give the Asian trap a try lol.. actually the worst customer service. my mother and i bought a pack of egg noodles around 4:00 pm on may 26, 2019 and keep in mind i saw other packages of the same brand having the same green mold on the noodles, however as an inexperienced buyer i thought it was just something else and since my mom (who has terrible eyesight) bought it, i thought it was fine. I understand that I should've voiced my concerns to my mom however, if the store has many packages lying out like that to all vulnerable customers, we should trust them right? what happened to the manager who is supposed to check on the quality of their supermarket? turns out when we got home to open it up to cook it, my dad has pointed it out the it was mold. so we took the noodles to the customer service at the store around 5:00 pm and told them about what had happened. they said ok either you can have a refund or a exchange (keep in mind of those other packages that are moldy as well) and even blamed it on the brand when in fact it was the supermarket that kept the products past its expiration date. this was terribly dealt with because 1. had my mom not been able to see those molds and took the exchange, she would've still gotten the same products with the same mold. and 2. if a customer is there to complain for a package of egg noodles for 5.00 dollars, please assume that they are trying to help the store and don't laugh at the customer in their face and argue back with them (1. I have been extremely disappointed with this place with regards to the product quality, particularly, meat and poultry. It's been three times in a row during the last few months that I ended up with rotten cat fish, rotten brown chicken, and rotten raw frozen quails. It appears they don't keep the meat products at proper temperatures. The frozen quails appeared to be chemically treated before frozen. After deep fry, the quail meat is unusually red and tasted awful! This place should be inspected and shut down! Their produce section is lacking when compared to other Vietnamese/Asian supermarkets. Their face mask requirement is arbitrary and they do not allow for face shields. Some people have difficulty breathing and can not tolerate wearing a face mask. One of the so-called managers explained that a face shield was not a face mask; yeah, duh, I know that. I've seen people wear face masks just to get past security at the door, then pull their face masks down to breathe once inside the store. Whereas, someone wearing a face shield would have it on all the time because they can breathe. By the way, CDC recommends face coverings when indoors and social distancing is not possible. A face shield is also a face covering and people shopping in a grocery store usually keep a fair distance from each other. But, you can't reason with close minded people or people who don't even know English to read the CDC's recommendations. No other store I've visited has ever said "No" to face shields except this one which means I will take my money somewhere else. read more
