The last time I was probably at this supermarket was over two decades ago with my mom as a child. I've been wanting to explore more of where I grew up as an adult, so our weekend exploration led us to this supermarket. We were on the hunt for some condensed milk, the buddha brand, and the Cafe Du Monde coffee. This store happened to have both of those in easy to find aisles. Something that surprised me about this store was that they also sell restaurant togo items, like togo containers, plates, etc. for businesses! There's plenty of parking here, and in their extended lot behind the supermarket. I wouldn't say the store felt the most clean, but it was well-stocked, and not super crowded. Asian supermarket with an emphasis on Vietnamese ingredients and goods. Not a lot of frills, bells, or whistles at this market. Because of the low frills, this keeps the prices on the more reasonable side relative to other markets. The isles are organized and I was able to easily navigate my way around even if it was my first time (it's very possible I've been here a very long time ago if my parents were in the area and needed stuff to prepare a meal at a family event). Service is pretty standard - at least from my experiences - at an Asian market. You typically know what you want or if you need to ask for something you can find someone and you go to check out at the front. Really straightforward. Came in with my friend and his family. We needed to kill a little time before another place opened up, so we came to grab a few things. I got some condiments, but I saw some great deals on frozen dumplings. I couldn't buy any on this trip because I was going to be out and about all day and couldn't leave them in my car. If I have a specific shopping list and know what I need and would be heading back home afterward, this is definitely on a list of places I would go to. read more

It has all the produce items that I need and the prices are very affordable. I normally bring my own shopping bag and the cashier didn't help place my items in the bag. I don't know why she didn't help me bag my items. Perhaps they want their customers to pay for the plastic bags and customers who bring their own bags are required to bag their own. This place used some red dye on their spoil meats. The meats look unusually red. I only noticed when I put their meats next to the one I got at another super market. They also sold me some expired products (yes, I should've check the dates but why were the items not pulled if it was passed expiration?). Never retuning to this nasty market. read more

I went to this saigon supermarket and I was intimidated for no reasons by this vietnamese manager man who is about 40 something. he kept staring at me intensely as if i had been a criminal. on march 1st/2026, I bought some fruits and stayed at the check out counter to pay for my fruits, this weird manager stood few steps away from meand kept staring at me intensely. first Idid not pay attention at him until I recognized that he still kept staring at me. He was very rude, unprofessional, intimidated, and crazy the way he stared at me like that. I asked him why he kept staring at me and if he thought that I had stole some items in the supermarket. he did not answer my questions. I felt very uncomfortably and violated and intimidated by this strange Vietnamese manager of saigon supermarket. Other employees of this supermarket behave very professional EXCEPT for this weird manager man. I post this notice on so everyone who goes shopping at this place be aware of this crazy manager man. How great are the prices for produce here? They have fresh veggies and fruits at really low prices compared to where I live. I had fun walking all around the many aisles and seeing what they have to offer, which is lots. Tons of sardines, Vietnamese spices, fish, different Aloe juices than I'm used to seeing at the Korean and Japanese supermarkets, and really tons of other merchandise. SS is in the same plaza as Advance Beauty College. When I entered from a side entrance, it didn't smell that great. As I advanced into the store, things were a lot better. It's not bad, you can handle it. When I went, checkout was quick. I've posted pictures of sections of the store under the listing. I picked up fresh tomatoes and Persian cucumbers for my first visit. I'm sure I'll swing by again if I'm in this area. read more

Remind me not to go to OC's Little Saigon on a weekend, a holiday, and especially around Chinese New Years/Tet. We tried to go to a different, larger Asian supermarket, part of a strip mall whose parking lot entrance was off Bolsa Ave. Crazy! The traffic moved 2 feet in an hour. And you can already imagine the venomous epithets that fell from my mouth every time an SUV with no visible driver cut in front of me. That vehicle, dear Yelper, was probably 'manned' by a tiny Asian lady elevated by a pillow so she could peek through the openings in her steering wheel. Happened more than once today. Once Mr. B and I got in said parking lot, it was more of the same. Never did find a parking spot after waiting another 30 minutes. Parking was so premium, I suspect people hoarded their precious parking spots and walked home. We gave up. Yelp to the rescue, we were guided to a market that was more off the beaten path. That would be here, Saigon Market. Plenty of parking, less crowded, same clientele, and grungy exterior. Ahhhhh.....authentic. We were there to find a small cleaver for Mr. B. That was all. An hour later, we came out with $64 of fresh veggies, Asian flavored soup bases, bean thread noodles, raw peanuts, cute dishware, etcetera, etcetera. Oh yes, and we did remember to get the the knife. Happily one of our better non-dementia days. Cool store! Big....no....huge! Fascinating stock. Beautiful produce. A large selection of fresh-off-the-boat fish, molluscs and crustaceans in large bins of ice, aquariums, or pools. Why is that so hard to find in the big IE? So, here is my biggest complaint, and my simple-minded work around plan: I had a hard time finding employees who understood English. They would point when I asked for sesame seeds, but it turns out they were pointing at the cashiers (probably because they did speak English) but who were busy with their own jobs. My Plan: Allow yourself time. Wander methodically, amuse yourself reading labels, people watch, grab what they grab, and make sure you stop and smell the .......(fill in the blank, and it's not roses). You'll eventually find what you need, and probably lots more. It makes for an interesting day, and could lead to a healthy inspiration for dinner at bargain prices. read more

It's not the best looking grocery store but it has Asian ingredients that I need to make for my family to eat. Walking in is already a maze. It seems they are trying to get us to see everything they sell. Which makes the entire place feel clutter. I don't even bother looking unless I need something other than food. Vegetable and fruit are fresh. A lot of Choices and fresh is okay. It's a hit and miss depending on the day and time you go. Meat is alright. It looks good but Nasty at the same time hahah. This market closes at 8:20pm, not 9pm. I am currently standing here right now making this review at 8:23pm because the security guy turn me away saying they are now closed as he is closing the gate. It's an Asian supermarket in Westminster. It's not the cleanest I've been to but they sure have a lot of exotic produce like rambutan and Vietnamese squash. They sell pounds of frozen shrimp. They have some fresh fish as well. I went here with my mom as she was navigating the aisles. I picked up some produce for myself along with some lychee jellies, a splatter cover, and some baby bok choy. Some items are cheap but you definitely want to inspect everything you buy. I noticed they sold condensed creamer which is sort of like condensed milk but with palm oil added to make it cheaper. Gross! Read the labels! read more

i agree with christa that i hate shopping in asian supermarkets except 99 ranch in the better neighborhoods b/c of the lawlessness. NOBODY waits in line for anything. people will even try to cut into the checkout line! can you imagine what the meat dept is like? but i do all my shopping here b/c the prices are so incredibly cheap! when the brown onions are on sale, they're 10 lbs for a dollar! although sometimes you have to look through the rotted ones to find the fresh ones, but it's worth the search. bananas are normally 33 cents a pound, but will drop to 20 cents a pound when they're on sale. other vegetables are cheap on a regular basis then what i've seen at korean markets or food for less. i usually cook traditional chinese food and find almost everything I need including the ingredients and spices. one of the wonderful finds recently is the fillet mignon for $3.28 a pound! i buy a five pound piece every time. i don't buy more because my freezer doesn't fit it! you may ask how they have the best cut of meat for 3 bucks. well, don't. if you worry about where your food came from or what the animal was fed, this isn't the place for you. i buy now and worry never. one more note about the chaos. i try to get to know one or two specific workers. this seems to have worked for me so far as i'm helped without having to take down a seemingly innocent grandma. read more

Cool Vietnamese grocery store! I can't believe it's taken me this long to review this place. I've been coming here sporadically for years. I went tonight to get a little Vietnamese coffee filter (cà phê phin) to make iced coffee and some spearmint to make more mojitos. I also got some cilantro. Their herbs are very fresh and fairly priced. They also have a good seafood (frozen shrimp is great) and meat selection (cheap ribeye steaks). You can get any part of a pig or cow, including a bucket of pig blood...not sure what you do with that other than dump it on Carrie at prom, but they've got it. The store is fairly clean and bright but some areas can be pungent to Western noses. read more

OK. Asian supermarkets are for inexpensive produce, meats and seafood. They are NOT for friendly service, helpful people. That said, I'm a fan of this market because of their veggies and meats are inexpensive, and they carry KIWI KNIVES !!! Yes, I'm constantly on the hunt for Kiwi brand knives from Thailand, even though I bought my set of Wusthof knives 20 years ago. I find that the Kiwi knives stand up to cutting, is super super sharp, and easy to work with. And it's cheap. A paring knife is ~$1.35, an 8 inch long narrow cleaver is ~$5.00 and the steak knife is $1.35 each. They also carry the veggie cleaver and the meat cleaver. I am soooo impressed with these knives. These really do rival Wusthof. In fact, I don't have to sharpen the knives before using, and these are razor sharp. It's also lighter in weight, but if you use the right knife for the right job, the blade stays true. If you try to hack with the long narrow cleaver instead of the meat cleaver, you will ding the blade. Yay! Another place to buy Kiwi knives. Was going to lee's and saw this place. I love a decent asian market and this one's better than average. Still has a strong odor when you enter but it's worth it for the produce. A lot of the produce looks like supermarket rejects but the price is fair. There's a corner of fresh pickled veggies and seafoods that smells horrible, a corner of asian snack foods and a corner of live molluscs and other seafood. I noticed that their freezer section also has a ton of fake meat products from shrimp and fish to beef and duck for all the vegans who aren't satisfied with the fresh tofu they stock. read more

This is one of the cleaner Vietnamese supermarkets in the area. It has a wide selection of meats, vegetables, and Vietnamese snacks. I really like their spices section because of their variety and good deals. When ordering at the butcher, make sure that you try to grab their attention. There is no point in waiting in line for your turn because they'll never get to you. You have to wave your hands and holler if you want something and speak loudly because other Vietnamese mothers will speak over you. It's really feels like an old school asian fish market in there. If you speak Vietnamese, it is a plus. The market is smaller compared to other supermarkets in the area, but it carries enough goods that can satisfy any large Vietnamese family. read more

This is favorite Vietnamese supermarket for weekend grocery shopping. Pro: I like this supermarket since it is roomier than many other VN supermarket, it is bright everywhere inside supermarket, especially in the vegetable, herbs section. Their vegetable seem to be fresher than other VN supermarket. Cashiers seem to be friendlier than other VN supermarket. Con: Their return policy is sucks! One thing I don't understand about VN supermarkets return policy is why they don't adapt the mainstream US supermarket or MiddleEast supermarket, they open, operate their business here in the US. I am not a fan of vietnamese grocery stores in general but yesterdays experience made me loathe them even more. If there were zero stars, that's what I would've clicked on for this place. I went to the seafood department and waited five minutes plus to get help. After finally being acknowledged I asked the man behind the counter for 3 pounds of shrimp. He then said "We don't have 13 pounds of shrimp, we only have 7. Do you want to take them all?" And I said no, I only want 3 pounds then again he repeated "We don't have 13 pounds of shrimp, we only have 7. Do you want to take them all?" Then I said again, no only 3 and I put up 3 fingers to show him because I figured that he might be hard of hearing. Then again he said the same thing. At this point I was pretty frustrated and I kept shouting no, I only want 3 and so did a few other people who were around me. Then when he finally scooped up the shrimp he said, "Okay, have you finally had enough?" And then repeated it as he smiled. And the lady standing next to me looked at each other and realized that he was just screwing with me the entire time! I was pretty upset and he probably deserved me chucking a fish head at him but I just walked away. NEVER AGAIN will I go to that grocery store. read more

oohhh how the saigon supermarket used to help me out when i was a poor college student a while back. instead of spending maybe $60 at albertsons/ralph's/vons, i would spend about $50 at mitsuwa, and more like $30 at the saigon supermarket. why? meat is cheap produce is cheap condiments are cheap dry/raw noodles are cheap cooking utensils are cheap and everything is great to medium quality too. there are tons of asian vegetables & noodles, so that's why i love it here. i still visit from time to time because it helps with my budget! as for service, i really don't care. as long as the food is prepared properly under the health code, it really doesn't matter who or what attitude the workers have. read more

Butchers refuse to cut meat into smaller portions for the customer even though your gonna buy the entire piece but would like to have it cut in smaller portions. Honestly, people only come here for the cheap produce. It's a Vietnamese market.. so don't expect customer service. I had a bad experience with one of the cashiers. She was a young adult, not fluent in English, but I still greeted her first in Vietnamese and asked about her day as she was ringing me up. Shouldn't it be the other way around? So she didn't greet me back or say anything. I could be wrong. Maybe she was deaf/mute I don't know. I wanted to give her the benefit of doubt and say she was probably having a bad day, but when she started to angrily throw my grocery and jar items at the bag boy, I had to call her out. I told her (in Vietnamese of course) if she was going to give my mom and I attitude, I don't care but it was unnecessary for her to treat my items like that. She just gave me a dirty look and continued to do it so I grabbed the rest of my items and decided to bag them myself. She didn't say anything and neither did the management. The man in charge of the cashiers didn't scold the girl or apologize on her end at all. Very, very bad service if you ask me. If I were you, I would just get in, get your groceries, and get outta there. Don't try to make small talk or bother to smile because they could care less about customer service other than taking your money and ringing up the next person. read more
