It was not by chance that I came here! Oh Yelp my Yelp! I attended the first Yelp event at a market here at Abdu's! When you cross the threshold, there is a beautiful aromatic scent that gently brushes across your nose. Freshly cooked grape leaves, samosas, and whatever else may be in the menu placed for eyes to see and baked goods coming from the bakery. Enough to keep you in the store just a tad bit longer. The store is immaculately clean and well kept. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. Since this was a Yelp event that I was present for, we had the pleasure of trying a multitude of various items sold in the store....from the delicious cilantro hummus to the Moroccan sweets and lamb grape leaves. One thing I did notice....they have lamb samosas in the freezer and I am too excited. Needless to say, I did make a few purchases. If you are ever in the area, stop in, grab a bite to eat and shop a little....or a lot...whatever floats your boat. read more

I recently moved to Belleville from Ann Arbor and assumed that I would not be in close proximity of a market for my Indian / Middle Eastern needs. I was pleasantly surprised to find this place! They have all the spices, legumes, breads, cooking implements and even imported fragrances you could want. Prices are great, there are fresh baked and cook items. Staff is very friendly, as well. This will be my new staple for groceries. read more

The Abdu Market transports you to another place. They carry so many different, difficult to find, ethnic foods and products. Items you might find in some other major city. The service was friendly and one of the workers hunted down exactly what I was looking for. The interior is well lit, clean, and tidy. read more

What a great market!! The staff make you feel like family. They fed us like family! There is even a bakery with fresh hot Pita bread and delicious meat pies. The produce is so fresh. I had never tried dates with Tahini before, absolutely delicious and healthy. I asked if they would consider giving cooking classes as they make such delicious food. The enthusiasm of all of the employees was overwhelming! I think I hugged at least 6 people. read more

Abdu Market is a hidden gem in Canton. They have a decent produce section with amazing prices, a bakery, and packaged foods from several different countries. I personally picked up Masala flavored potato chips, a few sauces and dips, Turkish desserts. Fun variety and I can't wait to try more from the bakery. If you get a chance to try the samosas, they are excellent! read more

Service was excellent and this family owned market represent a variety of countries for every taste of that country! Great bakery and food for lunch and dinner. The staff is super friendly and willing to give you a history lesson of the food and why they eat what they eat! We will most definitely return to enjoy lunch and go grocery shopping. My mom lives in the area but somehow we didn't catch that this was open until a couple of weeks ago when we were out running errands in that shopping center together. We were both SO excited to see it and popped in immediately. SO many great things here, including a bakery where I got some fresh meat and spinach pies and cheese manakish, a butcher counter, and wonderfully stocked shelves and freezers full of staples like oils, sauces, spices, and rice, dairy, frozen prepared foods, and a produce section with fresh fruits and veggies. It's all very well marked and clearly laid out but if you have trouble finding something just ask them. They're incredibly helpful here! There's also a hot food/prepared food counter where I got a delicious to-go dish of spiced rice and potatoes with a quarter of a chicken (I believe it was called maqluba). I added a second chicken quarter for an extra $2 and that was enough for two if not three meals. I'm usually in the area at least once a week and I'm excited to add them into my grocery store rotation! read more

There are not many halal meat markets in the city of Canton (I can count them all on one hand, and one of those is another Abdu Market). I'm not a fan of the meat at the Cherry Hill location, and by carefully observing what they offered I'm not so sure it's that much better here. But they do make up for it with a large selection of produce, ingredients, frozen items and specialty goods. It's definitely larger than the original location and more organized. What did peek my interest though are the bakery and pre-made meals. read more

Highly highly recommend! This is a fantastic Middle Eastern market that offers a variety of international food items. They have a good selection of fresh produce and Halal meat as well. They also have an amazing bakery and kitchen and sell fresh bread and a variety of food including grape leaves, samosas, and meat pies. The food is truly incredible and will not disappoint! The place is big and fully stocked, the prices are average, its clean and its got a bakery, staff is friendly and the owner listens, so if you can't find anything let the owner know, he'll try his best to make sure its there next time. The place is clean, the meat is Halal and the bake goods were also great. We got treated on opening day and was not disappointed. The veggies are fresh and clean, and there's finally big selection on rice, plus its more closer to my house. Will be my new go to. read more

Went in to check this place out today. It was an odd experience. They have a hot food counter with falafel, samosas, shawarma already made and wrapped. There's a variety of each thing but nothing is labeled. I asked the worker what each was, because visually there's no way of knowing what filling is in each of the samosas, etc. Why not label the products with the name of the item and the price to make it easier for both workers and shoppers? So then I order a couple of each thing and they are put in these tiny brown bags that are falling all over the place in the cart as I shop. When I get up to the register, the cashier also doesn't know what each thing is, and uses her hands that have been handling money to rifle through each of these little bags to figure out what I got. At that point, I was pretty turned off from eating any of it. Their hummus is the worst hummus I've ever had in my life. I might be a white girl, but I used to work in Dearborn and am a lover of middle eastern food, frequently shopping many locations and seeking out this cuisine. Their hummus had no flavor at all and was separated and lumpy. Went right in the trash. Staff there was not very welcoming. I'm generous in giving 3 stars here. It was a clean place and I would really like to shop here for the products that carry, but I will hesitate to return because I felt really strange being in there. read more

Nice store but the butchers need training. I asked for whole chicken cut into 6 pieces. This is pretty standard. 2 breast, 2 quarters, 2 wings. He cut the breasts in half and I got some other strange cuts from the saw he used. Plus the chickens were full of feathers. Very disappointed. The bakery is decent and hot food kitchen was the best thing about this new store so far. Very friendly service. Falafel sandwich was on point. Cant wait to try the biryani next time. read more

Went in to grab a chicken shawarma and ask to taste the garlic before I purchased and they refused and I just declined the meal. I've went to other Mediterranean places and never had a problem and then absolutely ordered the shawarma. Won't be goin back there. read more
