The Abdu Market transports you to another place. They carry so many different, difficult to find, ethnic foods and products. Items you might find in some other major city. The service was friendly and one of the workers hunted down exactly what I was looking for. The interior is well lit, clean, and tidy.

What a great market!! The staff make you feel like family. They fed us like family! There is even a bakery with fresh hot Pita bread and delicious meat pies. The produce is so fresh. I had never tried dates with Tahini before, absolutely delicious and healthy. I asked if they would consider giving cooking classes as they make such delicious food. The enthusiasm of all of the employees was overwhelming! I think I hugged at least 6 people.

There are not many halal meat markets in the city of Canton (I can count them all on one hand, and one of those is another Abdu Market). I'm not a fan of the meat at the Cherry Hill location, and by carefully observing what they offered I'm not so sure it's that much better here. But they do make up for it with a large selection of produce, ingredients, frozen items and specialty goods. It's definitely larger than the original location and more organized. What did peek my interest though are the bakery and pre-made meals.

The place is so good!!…read more A friend recommended me to come here and I said why not give it a try since I was in the area today. Staff were amazing. So kind and so funny and very helpful on my selection. It's a clean restaurant and I mean very clean. They have about 10 tables to sit down and enjoy your food. Do you see how big this bowl aka BOX is?!? I ordered the chicken shawarma bowl and it might be one of the best chickens I have had. It was tender and full of proper flavor. The toppings were fresh as well. They top it with garlic and I like it. Their garlic has a kick to it so you know it's freshly made. Their menu has a good selection of different things to order. So there's something that everyone will definitely love. They also make smoothies. They specifically in a Afrikano style which is more spicy. I wasn't feeling spicy today, but I'll definitely come next time to try it. I'm glad I finally gave this place and try and will most definitely be back to try more food.

The place has coffees and lattes, as well as a variety of desserts. The main draw, as you might imagine, is the Chai. They have several types, and the cool thing is they let you sample before you buy. My wife and I ended up splitting the BonBon Chai (caramel flavored), though the tiramisu and amore were a close 2nd and third. They also have flat breads and wraps, though we didn't try any as we had just finished dinner. The staff was super friendly, and there was ample seating. It looks like they also had outdoor seating, though not something we were going to do in January. I met my friend and his wife at this Middle Eastern eatery for lunch while I was in town. The…read moreSheikh Restaurant is located in a middle suite of a narrow Canton Township strip mall. Parking spaces were ample as the neighboring businesses weren't busy at all during this holiday week. The inside was not ornately decorated as some of the fancier places in the area that serve this type of cuisine. Between the booths and tables, my estimate was that the seating capacity was around 50 customers. The menu booklet contained several pages of offerings across the categories of appetizers, soups, salads, sides, wraps/subs, traditional dishes, and seafood/chops. For beverages, there were juices, smoothies, coffee, tea, and soft drinks. My friends each chose a different type of wrap for their meal. I picked one of the entrees from the traditional dishes which was the Gallaba over Hummus. In my hometown, I don't see gallaba as often as items like shish kabobs and shawarma. My order consisted of a choice of meat (lamb was my pick) sauteed with green peppers, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, and carrots with special spices added. The mixture was served on a bed of hummus with my choice of rice on the side. A cup of chicken rice soup (instead of lentil) also came with this traditional dish. While we were waiting for our food, a basket of warm pita bread and a cup of garlic spread were provided. The spread was very pungent so I used it sparingly. An extra dinner salad was mistakenly added which I saved for leftovers. The gallaba was essentially a Middle Eastern version of a meat stir fry. The pieces of lamb were tender and not gamey. The spices added flavor but not saltiness. Between the bread, soup, rice, and gallaba, it was a generous portion size that also became leftovers for later. For the quality and price of my meal, I gave a four star rating for our visit to The Sheikh Restaurant.
