Based on my experience, he engages in this practice to prevent patients from seeking a second opinion advising that they do not need the expensive surgery he is advising. In April of 2026, I visited Ravon Dental for an initial consultation about my gums and possible gum recession. Prior to my visit, I had not experienced any gum discomfort or pain. During the initial visit, Dr. Ravon advised me that I needed major surgery for both my lower and upper gums. Not wanting to do the entire mouth at one time, I scheduled the lower gum surgery. Dr. Ravon completed the surgery on my lower gums using a large amount of tissue from the roof of my mouth. The recovery was quite painful and I am currently still experiencing discomfort from it. When I returned for a follow-up visit a few weeks later, Dr. Ravon advised me that I had to do the upper gum surgery and replace my silver fillings by the end of 2026. In light of the pain I was still experiencing from the April surgery, I sought a second opinion from another periodontist whose office is also located in Beverly Hills and who is internationally recognized for his excellence. The second periodontist I visited advised me that I did not need any work whatsoever on my gums, did not need any fillings replaced, and that anyone who wanted to do any surgery on my mouth "is crazy." Do not go to Dr. Ravon and if you do, PLEASE get a second opinion before you have him engage in any procedures.

During my recent visit, it seemed like Dr. Ghiam tried getting the two receptionists to talk me into scheduling future appointments. Towards the end of that appointment, the two front desk staffs came into the room I was in and tried convincing me that future appointments were necessary to "fix the damage." I felt like this was simply a way for the doctor to get more money from me because I have been a patient there for a year and he would put minimal effort in fixing the issue during the teeth cleaning appointments. I've reached out to the office multiple times to obtain my dental records from all visits and they were deliberately sending me files that were corrupted or unopenable to complicate the situation. If you weren't going to fix the issue then be transparent about it and give me my money back. But don't lie and say you're going to repair the damages if you have no intentions in doing so just so you can keep the money. If you're looking for a cosmetic dentist that's built on trust and transparency, look somewhere else because the one here does not meet those standards.

Understandably he's a very…read moremature man, so his treatment plan did not include newer, less destructive techniques such as adhesive dentistry. Crowns, a 100 yr old technique that grinds down significant amounts of existing tooth enamel and relies on adhesive what is known to fail in approx 20 years, is perhaps too archaic to consider, when newer composite adhesion techniques preserve existing enamel that can never be regained. The biggest impediment to pursuing treatment is sitting at Dr. Torbati's front desk. Mary, who likely learned her high pressure sales techniques at a weekend auto sales seminar, made every attempt to pressure me into a contract. This was during Covid, when no one knew how long employment earnings would be suspended. I had already been completely unemployed for 10 months when our conversation occurred. Still she threatened increased prices if I did not sign by the end of the month, showed zero empathy for my painful condition and treated me like a potential criminal, who would skip out on bills. I had agreed to the $15,000 treatment price and informed her I could send $4000 immediately and another $1200 in 30 days, but for the purpose of transparent honesty, said that after that I might need to put treatment on hiatus, until more funds were available. She doubled down on her pressure, like an angry badger. Mary attempted to exploit the fact that I was in constant pain. I further explained I'd never left a bill unpaid and my commitment was real but my own ethics would not allow me to sign a contract, in which I was not 100% sure I could deliver on the terms. The bridge broke a couple of weeks ago, so this time I contacted the insurance company and discovered that, indeed, a bridge is FULLY COVERED by my insurance. So when I went back to the office and they AGAIN tried to charge me full price for the service, I asked for a pre-authorization (I recommend that everyone does this no matter who your dentist is). Having no choice but to tell me the truth as this point, they agreed that my bridgework was fully covered, however, they then attempted to give me several reasons why they would still not honor my insurance, all of which were either untrue or did not apply to me. I contacted the insurance company to complain, and found out that not only had they charged me full price for my bridge procedure three years ago, but they also reported it as a claim and were paid by the insurance company too, which makes them liars, thieves, and criminals. This office will do everything it can to bilk you for every cent that it can, then act like the problem is you. If I could get someone arrested or shut their business down, I would. Dr. Moldovan discovered three cavitations, and I underwent cavitation surgery that same day. I thank God I did. It's now been 7 months since the surgery, and I am feeling better than I have in the last decade. Many of my health issues have improved or resolved --one major one being heart palpitations. Dr. Moldovan, Leeshane, Helder, Garry, thank you for your patience, kindness, compassion and the way you made me feel safe, supported, and truly cared for. You should literally go to any other dental practice!…read more In my experience, the quality of care is average to poor - I've had to pester the office over a period of multiple weeks stretching to months to get new clear aligners after the dentist was unhappy with the initial results. If you don't pester, you'll just never hear back...After my last treatment, the dentist needed to do "research" to find a product that could help him finish polishing my wax up and promised to follow up once they had the product. That was August of 2025! Still no word. Perhaps worse, I've experienced the office staff at The Lounge pressuring my dental hygienist to upsell me on various products like an oral detox (which is manufactured by a company that is also owned by Dr. Moldovan). This would be bad enough to warrant a warning to stay away but the office staff is truly abysmal. I've experienced promises that they would submit insurance forms that they never seem to submit (at least according to the insurance company) and have had to send 10 email requests just to get a "super bill" so that I can submit to the insurance company myself. Amazingly, Dr. Moldovan refuses to have a conversation about the quality of her staff and the service level they provide. Instead she seems to prefer to tell her staff to quote her as saying, " I will not discuss the dental insurance with our patients, for this has never been my speciality, this is my practice and insurance is not accepted as payment, I am a periodontist trying to heal the world." I've never known another business owner to refuse a conversation with a customer because the topic "has never been my speciality". Again, you should literally go to any other dental practice!

Dr. Nejad took a much more conservative approach--he was able to save the tooth with an onlay instead of a full crown, and he also replaced my old crown with something that finally looks and feels natural. I never thought it was possible for that tooth to look right, but now it blends in perfectly. The entire process was incredibly smooth and reassuring. Dr. Nejad and his team are warm, meticulous, and truly exceptional at what they do!

However when it came down to it they would not let us use our money for any dental treatments. We were only allowed to use our $10,000 if we continue to give them another $30-$80,000 for veneers. We gave them 10,000 upfront with the reassurance that we would be allowed to have that as a credit at this office for ANY treatment or service. However, when we decided to use it for Invisalign and bonding with this offiand other cosmetic dental services we were not allowed to use it and they will not return our $10,000 and will not allow us to use the money for dental work at this office unless we want to give them another $60-$80,000 for a mouth full of veneers. We were completely lied to during our consult and feel completely scammed and conned by this office. We did not sign up for their $80,000 veneer plan we only wanted some basic cosmetic work. We got absolutely nothing except a few X-rays and a few photos and they have $10,000 of our money that they will not let us use unless we want to give them a fortune for a mouth full of veneers. They told us We will not be allowed to use this money for any treatment as they told us during our consult we could use or otherwise we wouldn't pay them as we had no idea what we were going to do to our teeth.
