PROS: wonderful hygienists, both of the ones that I had (Allie and another whose name I believe begins with F...Francine?). They were all super friendly and very thorough, which is the only reason I kept coming back. CONS: Dr. Anderson and (less so) the staff. I had regular appointments at the office for several years and only saw the doctor ONCE, the very first visit I ever had. She was friendly and fun but didn't really give my mouth a proper examination other than a once-over...fine. The problem is I never saw her again because she was always too busy to give me a check-up. One time I was due to see her and I heard her laughing in the next room. By the time the hygienist had finished cleaning my teeth, they told me that Dr. Anderson had already gone home...who does that when you have a patient waiting in the next room?? Especially for your own business...clearly, she doesn't care. Maybe this was the fault of the staff for not telling her but she is the boss and needs to make nice with her patients, any which way you cut it. The staff at the front window were never especially friendly or well-informed when it came to insurance so that also rubbed me the wrong way. Sometimes they'd leave you standing at the counter for a few minutes before they would decide to help you, even if they weren't with another patient or on the phone. I'm sorry, but people in office come first before all other tasks. All in all, I would seriously avoid this place: you can find better. I hope the hygienists find better offices themselves. read more

Okay, Dr. Merle Anderson retired and I finally decided to see Dr. Denette as my last doctor was great but the office does accept my new insurance. Dr. Denette,,,,, is many things! She is smart, and she does over and above. I mentioned before that her father, Dr. Merle Anderson, was kind and good to his patients... well the apple didn't fall too far from the tree. Denette works hard to make sure her patient is comfortable and satisfied with the dental care she provides. Like this week she placed a new crown and asked if it was okay and made suggestions. Then we decided it is fine with me - but if I decided to make the bite better, she could just make a little adjustment. But, it's perfect! If you have a question for Denette or any of the staff, including front office, just ask! They will answer that question and/or make sure you leave with anything you may need before you head home. read more

Kind, brilliant, gentle, efficient, has more energy than the Energizer Bunny, and is an absolute artist with both the novocaine syringe and the drill. Absolutely terrible service... I went in 3 times in September, gave them my new insurance info & they failed to properly bill the new insurance... continued trying to bill the old one for SIX MONTHS until they called my mom instead of me about the issue (against HIPPA i believe) and then sent me a bill of $500 asking me to pay asap... I filed a grievance, as they were aware, with Delta Dental and lost but they hd the audacity to then bill add a finance charge onto the bill as the grievance was being processed... still figuring out how to fight it! I find the pricing to be more than reasonable, and the front office is wonderful at working with your insurance to make sure you don't overpay. Denette is absolutely fantastic. She sets a plan for you for dental care and fixes everything in a careful and thoughtful manner with dental insurance in mind. I am in need of extra Novocaine when I have work on specific teeth and she finds the exactly perfect combination each time so I do not feel a thing and I will admit, I am always super nervous for getting work done. I have had 4 or 5 crowns done by her now and they all went superbly well. My family went to her dad, Merle for about 40 years before he retired and Denette took over the practice. I've been going to Dr. Tavernakis for years and was devastated when he retired, and skipped dentist visits for a while for fear of a bad experience. So glad I finally went to see Dr. Anderson. She is at least as good. Everyone was very caring and attentive and accommodating to my fears. I get to wear the x-ray apron the entire time because I find it very calming, and they're not making a fuss about it or mocking me. Everyone always explains in detail what is happening, so I know exactly what to expect - the dreaded drill sound, or the exact same sound but now it's just to polish the tooth, a little mini-saw to make sure the filling is separated from the adjacent tooth so I can floss, now there is going to be a little bit of water, etc. Also, I just got my first bill that showed how much my insurance paid, and that Dr. Anderson could charge me up to $111 - but they only charged $56, and included a handwritten explanation. How awesome is that?!? I'm re-doing all my fillings and crowns this year and am happy to not have to go any more dentist-shopping. read more

I was recommended to Dr. Denette Anderson by a friend who has been going to her for a long time. I fall into the category as one of those people who went the dentist as a child, but hasn't gone since late college when my parents' insurance stopped covering me. Needless to say, I hadn't been to the dentist in almost 5 years when I first went to go see Dr. Anderson this past August. The staff there was great. I was in and out in about 40 minutes for a cleaning and x rays. Dr. Anderson is nice, professional, and a real person with a family and a life, not just a robot dentist. I had an old filling that needed to be replaced and a new cavity that had developed. I went back about a week later for my cavity filling and it was quick and as painless as can be expected. I've got my 6 month appointment set up for February and I'm actually kind of looking forward to it since her office made it so easy. read more

I took all my kids (my 10, 5, and 2-year-old) yesterday for our cleanings. My little one was there more so to look at what I thought were cavities. Turns out, yes, he had 2 in his lower molars. I just want to let everyone know it's not easy working on children, or adults for that matter. But my 2-year-old was treated with great care. They showed him the instruments they were going to use, and how they worked. He opened his little mouth and they worked their magic. No needles, no pain. He sat very still like a champ. They were able to fill his cavities and I couldn't have been more pleased of how smoothly the process went. You guys are awesome! read more

Dr. Denette has been treating our family for several years now. She is amazing with both adults and children. My daughters (8 & 5) have only gone to her for their dental work. The love visiting her office because they have no idea that a dental office can be a "scary" place (not to mention the toys and costume rings they get when they go there...) My girls have had to have (unfortunately) several fillings and Dr. Denette has been able to do them all with out anesthetic...That's right NO shots! It's important that my girls have good experiences at the dental office, but they also offer late hours for working adults, our hygienist, Suzan, is amazing, and the rest of the staff is wonderful too! My kids and I have gone to Dr. Denette Anderson for years. I decided to take advantage of my medi-cal covered dental offices and save some money. Both Western Dental and Dr. Zak Dental companies tried ripping me off; telling me I had periodontal disease and several cavities and require a specific deep clean that is not covered by insurance. They wanted to charge me $1,000. I decided to call up Dr. Denette's office and they had an appointment for the next day. Not only was the visit on time, and the service quick and effective, the staff are so pleasant. I was a patient of Denette's father forever until he retired. I had seen Denette in his absence once and found her too hyper for my taste but decided to give her another try. I saw her twice and in both cases waited an hour to be seen. On each occasion I had a tooth extracted and found her rude and rushed. After the second visit, she rushed out of the room and left me in the chair without saying anything. After about 15 minutes, I flagged down a staff person and asked, "Am I done?" I found Dr. Denette based on a close location to my home and positive reviews on social media, and I am pleased! Don't be put off by the very dated appearance of the building. This is a modern dental office with a crackerjack staff. The hygienist who did the cleaning was great and quite concerned about seeing me on time. I had to wait a few minutes to see the dentist and several staff checked on me. Based on typical experience at other providers, I had expected to read a couple of chapters in the book I had brought, but the wait was well under 10 minutes. The front office staff know exactly what they are doing, work quickly and efficiently--and they're nice! What a change from a typical medical/dental office! I had a minor issue from work done by my previous dentist (which is why I was shopping for a new dentist), and Dr. Denette was able to address my problem. I liked her conservative approach. The prior work was not optimal, but since the work was adequate, Dr. Denette didn't recommend ripping it all out and starting over. I also found that to be a refreshing change from other dentists who just want to start a list of all the procedures they can do and charge for. read more

Dr. Anderson is WONDERFUL! Over the years he has truly taken the best care of my teeth. I had to have 2 crowns done and a few fillings because my dentist I had growing up was horrible and I was scared to go to the dentist. Finally I came to this office knowing I just had to bite the bullet and get it over with. Not only was he gentle and quick but he really made me feel comfortable and not anxious one bit. Usually the worst part is getting the shot to numb you. His technique is so simple and he's always right on point. They don't over book the practice so waiting around would be the rarest of occasions. I just recently had a small filling done and they had me in and out in 40 minutes! 40 MINUTES!!!!
