This place is a field trip in itself! They have ALL the animals including chickens, chicks, birds, fish, etc. It was certainly a fun surprise. On 4/12 I have went inside Abe's pet shop in San Bernardino, I have walked in with my two kids and my wife, went for feeder and crickets, after paying and walking out the reptile store, remind you they have to store one for reptiles only, after walking out I decide to go inside where they have chicken, Gordonises, I was interested in two of them after they got baby chickens ready then the lady I'm not sure what her name is, she comes up to the register and tells me hey where is the receipt for your purchase, I asked why she looked at me from head to toes assuming I stole from her and that I did not make a purchase accusing me of something I did not do , really bad costumer service, very rude, and also very unprofessional service. read more

BEST pet shop in the IE. 100%! Family owned and local. I use to go to petsmart and petco before. It would always smell bad, the animals always looked sad. The service is always terrible. But this NEW spot I found was so much better! It's clean, they are informative they always have raffles where you can win LIVE ANIMALS. Plus they have three buildings. One where they have the parrots and parakeets as well as fish. The second has the pet supplies and their own mini vet. The third one has all the lizards. Love it. I lost my boa constrictor I named onyx and I called abes pet place and asked them if they had any other boa constrictor and they said yes but when I went to pick up the snake they gave me a ball python ( wich do not like to be held). When I went to blow in its face ( its how you get your snake used to your sent) they told me not to do that cause it will aggravate the snake. Not only that but I found a mouse swimming in the water bowl for qhay looked like hours and the staff were just minding their own business not even paying any attention to their animals. read more

Bought an albino tangerine milk snake from them and one day later it is dead. I am so saddened. The guy acted like he knew his stuff but then when I asked a friend who is very knowledgeable on snakes he told me the tank they sold my snake in would have killed him in a months time with how small it was and the guy told me he would be find for a while in there until he grew some. read more

Do not buy pets from this place. Recently we bought 4 parakeets from this place and bought males (2 birds) ended up dying. They have way too many birds to one cage and is not very sanitary. The place also smells awful. Seriously this place needs to be shut down. read more

If you see nobody is buying the animals your selling stop getting them and stuffing them in cages with no water. You guys have baby ducks dead, and some of the chickens have no water. Took my son to pick out a beta fish for his 4th birthday. Multiple were dead in their bowls/cups. Not for a short time ,but obviously a very long time. Had to have the hard talk with him about death Over crowded parakeets & water turtles. Chickens/hens were 3 to 4 deep in small cages. Beautiful parrots and exotic birds living in fish aquariums behind the counter. Pretty sad. read more

I purchased some bird food and my parents purchased some live chickens. There was a staff member who kept slamming the lids to all the glass cages and it would startle all the animals that was a bit off putting. Otherwise The staff was helpful and very patient. They have a huge variety of pet supplies, live birds live chicks and fish. The pets all were healthy and clean. read more

I bought a tortoise from this store for my kid for Christmas. He died of a respiratory infection one month later which is today.

This was my first visit there. The staff is friendly and helpful. They let my grandson feed some baby chicks. I bought my first bearded dragon, actually for my grandson. The place has a happy healthy feeling. Some pet stores make me feel sorry for the animals, but these people clearly take good care of them. It's an attractive, clean facility. read more

My bird (cockatiel) also has beak and feather disease. The staff is super nice, birds look happy and well feed. The hand tamed ones are always on someone's shoulder and run around are seem I would go several times to get my birds nails and wings done. I too was told my bird had a vitamin deficiency ( he refused to eat pellets so understandable) they also informed me my bird was under weight. Again probably because he is on a all seed diet, I got his wings clipped back in December of 2023 and since then his flight feathers never grew back and he wouldn't fly nor would he climb around his cage ( unlike my sisters cockatiels) since he wasn't flying or climbing I took him to the vet to get checked, and also went and got a second opinion and sure enough he has beak and feather disease. This disease is highly contagious to other birds the disease lives in their dust and dander and feathers. It can not be killed with bleach. If you've gotten a bird in the last year I would highly recommend getting them tested for it. I know these people who work here are not vets but they could have recommended me to a vet instead of just saying he had a vitamin deficiency and selling me vitamins if they weren't 100% sure I wish I would have been more educated on getting a bird. But I wouldn't trade my bird for anything. He sings and dances and is overall a happy bird. He just doesn't fly and most likely will have a short life. read more

My friend purchased a tortoise from here as a Christmas present for her son. Despite being well cared for, it died yesterday from a respiratory infection. She had to watch it struggle to breathe, unable to get it medical attention in time. When her husband went into the shop to let them know, the woman that he spoke to seemed nonchalant, even though respiratory infections in tortoises are HIGHLY contagious! They don't seem to care about the health of their animals, as long as they can make a buck. read more

Animals are malnourished, in desperate need of food and water. It's amazing to see the wide variety of beautiful animals they carry. But if they would care or cater to these creatures just a little more, I don't see anything wrong with supporting this pet store. Chickens are crammed into a small cage, multiple birds crammed into a small cage. You have piglets in a small container similar to ones that hold Guinea pigs. It's just not enough space and visible lack of care. If they could just provide these animals with the space needed, it would just be most ideal. read more
