That's why this current experience is so disappointing. I've been dealing with a roof leak for almost a month now. I've called their office repeatedly, emailed photos and descriptions of the problem, and politely followed up asking for an update. Every response is 'We'll get back to you'--and then nothing. No call, no email, no technician showing up. It's radio silence after the initial promises. This is especially concerning since it's their roof work that's leaking, and one would expect prompt service on something like this (especially under any warranty). The lack of follow-through has turned a great experience into a frustrating one. This review too is solely based on their sales pitch. Guy knocked on my door. Said they were doing work down the street. I agreed to a quote in my old sun cracked siding. Afterwards I went down street. There was no work going on down there. When guy came over next day for quote he spent an hour explaining how great their company was and this special paint they have. After I finally got quote and I was hesitant he starts saying my boss won't like this but I'll take $1000 off if you sign the contract now. I wanted all my siding removed and replaced but he said they would patch and paint it. I suspect if I hired them they would not have removed the damaged shingles. I just did not feel comfortable. And when you look at their best reviews people call out their specialty paint. Like would a real reviewer mention that? Judge for yourself. read more

We didn't end up going with SunTrust so this review is just based on their sales pitch. I was not comfortable with their sales pitch at all. It was like talking to a bad car salesman. They spent hours pitching us and told us a bunch of half truths and outright lies, like acrylic paint is illegal to sell in California (it's offered and sold by all the big paint brands) and that their paint would make our house 40 degrees cooler (the claim from the paint supplier is that it reduces paint surface temperatures by 40 degrees not indoor temps). To top it off, we referred them to our neighbor for a quote and they told our neighbor we committed to SunTrust even though we hadn't. The quote was super high and only makes financial sense if you believe their claims that it will last 50 years and that they'll warranty it for that long. We checked out their recent work at another house in our neighborhood and it didn't even look that good. The paint was so thick that it looked like they wrapped their house in vinyl. It was bubbling in some spots so it didn't look like the wood would be able to breathe. Bad experience. Would not recommend. read more

The company is very budget-friendly, their work is top-notch, and Daniel took the time to clearly explain what was wrong. Read Before Hiring SunTrust (Very Very Bad Experience) 1. Document everything you need, like wood repair or stucco; they will charge you up to a 1/3 markup, or more than your quote, after they power wash your house. 2. You never get consistent, honest work from the crew. You know you are in trouble when they ask you for cleaning rags and bottled water. I later read someone else's review on different review where they requested McDonald's and soda for lunch, and showed their attitude. 3. They don't encourage painting a small color sample on your house before getting approval to start the job. 4. They leave dirty rags and sponges on expensive digital equipment. 5. They treat your home like it's a movie set. What you can't see without using a ladder, they want paint. 6. They did not take sufficient care to protect my outdoor lights, window frames, and the concrete outside my house. 7. I often found it difficult to get updates or clear answers to my questions. 8. Communication throughout the process was inconsistent among the two-person crew, the project manager, and their office manager. 9. I was submitting so many complaints, I felt like I was the project manager without the pay. I was truly working with the D-team instead of the A-team. read more

We had just barely started shopping around, then met Adam at SunTrust. He came to our home after our working hours, which was very helpful. He definitely saw something we didn't; potential. Recently someone knocked on my door and suggested giving me a free paint inspection & estimate. Ryan ended up coming out and gave me a very detailed inspection and showed me a couple options on how they could take care of my stucco damage and beautify my home. Ryan was very informative and answered all of my questions. I ended up going with CoolWall by TextCoat instead of latex paint because it came with a 50 year warranty and it's going to protect my wood from water damage. I've been presented with CoolWall from a different company before for a cheaper price, but I ended up working with SunTrust remodeling because they had amazing reviews, demonstrated all of the benefits of the product, and also they have done many projects in my neighborhood. We contracted Suntrust to paint the wood sidings and eaves on our house. When the crew hydroblasted the eaves, they also did the paint around the windows and garage doors. However these area were not painted along with the rest of the agreeed upon area. When we questioned Abel, the project manager after completion about this, he said it wasn't in the contract and "you can do it yourself". Since October 7th, my wife had reached out to Brooklyn, the scheduler at Suntrust (six test messages and one phone call), and has just gotten the runaround. Brooklyn either says she will get back to us, or she will have someone else contact us. To me good customer service dictates that if you or your vendors make a mistake, you make it right. Suntrust is not willing to do this. I cannot give this company a good recommendation to others and I will not do business with them in the future. read more

I would rate them at 0 if I could. Yesterday a sales person representing SunTrust knocked on my door and asked if I needed any facia repair, painting, stucco, or roofing work done. I said yes we have some facia repair and gave her an estimate of around 8 to 10 feet. She wrote this down and we set up an appointment for today at 11:30 today. Someone showed up promptly and looked at the facia work and some painting work. He said the job was too small and that SunTrust didn't want the job. He then started looking around for some bigger jobs that he might do. I said that if he wasn't interested in the work the sales person was told about then he could leave. I am a person that is very analytical and thorough before jumping into ideas or purchases so in this case as usual I did my due-diligence and research in regards to analyzing ordinary paint against Text-Cote definitely is an extraordinary product and my research revealed and prove that Tex- Cote is the winner it is very thick and it is more a coating even though it is paint like but reflects heat substantially like nothing else that I have seen that's on the market today and it doesn't fade like ordinary paint which in return gives you longevity and even reduces a homes cooling cost hugely ! I have owned many homes over a life time including Arizona that gets ridiculously hot and caused peeling cracking and fading which caused me major headaches I love modern technology we have come a long ways since then I also found it can be applied to roofs and floors even making it much more slip resistant ! My homes have always been my major investments and don't skimp on taking care of them and doing the right thing for my investment if it cost a few bucks more for quality longevity and heat savings yes it's more than worth it is comparing a Mercedes to a Volkswagen it's the same scenario there is no comparison in the long run! The proof basically as they say the proof is in the pudding after the knowledgeable representative of SunTrust Deanna showed me at my home in person the several test and you really can visually see in the test she displayed the difference and they are day and night differences between Text-Cote paint and regular paint it is not even close call. So after the demonstration of the products superiority in her presentation I dug even deeper to verify that it is the real McCoy in products! Horrible experience. I've been trying to get a straight answer from this company since May 6th. I've dealt with 3 different people, they were always late to show to my house and never followed through with giving me a quote for the right thing they've told me they would. They would continually say it's coming at the end of the day which wouldn't happened and then would need to follow up again. They are super unprofessional, one guy even told me it would be a waste of time to write a quote unless I gave him a verbal yes. My retaining wall came out beautiful! I was pleased that it's all work out since my permit was denied for expanding bigger driveway. I suggest if you need a permit for anything, just go to the city yourself first or have the contractor check it out first before getting the quote. From the sales reps Brandon and Abraham who were so patient and helpful to Brianna and August who were in constant communication with my husband and I on a daily basis reaching out to us to provide updates and ask us how we were feeling about the project as we went along. Today we had an inspection done & new roof quote provided by Reece & Justin. We were not prepared for a new roof but knew the day was coming that it needed replacing. A few days ago I had a really nice and professional young man come by the door to explain about this company "SunTrust Remodeling" from Irvine who does home remodeling, repair, and other things home improvement related. He asked what things we're interested in and what home improvement ideas on the outside he had recommended. Then after a few mins we were able to set us up on a future consultation a few days later to have a person come in the house to better explain things and give us a quote when the person does come by. I explained to them that currently we may not be in the budget for the things we have in mind because we just had our roof replaced as well as the rafters/facias etc. They were okay with that. They confirmed with a phone call the same day to let us know what day and time works best for us to have them come. Anyways when that somebody did come by that's when we met "Travis S." who was absolutely professional, kind, courteous, and someone who we knew was a person who cares about addressing all your concerns about what things you want and need within the budget. He walked around and took some pictures, measurements, and walked us throughout our house to show some areas that need attention and what they will do to address them. Once he was done we scheduled another appointment for the quote so my cousin would be present with his wife to sit together with "Travis S" in a couple days which I don't mind. When the day came it was late evening because that is what time we agreed when my cousin and his wife would be free after their walk, dinner, and work. Again we met with Travis, myself, my cousin, and my cousin's wife was too afraid and shy to meet Travis. Travis was so friendly and we appreciated him taking the time to discuss, talk about his company SunTrust, the material for the paint which is what we were first interested in doing. At the end of the day me and my cousin definitely like to say thank you to Travis S for explaining so patiently and willingly to answer all our questions. The quote he gave us was also positive and options were very reasonable. I would totally recommend SunTrust and Travis S who sat down with us in my next home painting project.
