After having excellent service in 2 previous jobs with ABR, my expectations for a 3rd one (today) were understandably high. Unfortunately, this was not the case. After arriving 30 minutes after the scheduled time, Tyler headed up to our attic to survey the work. As someone who wants to learn, I followed, and was disturbed at the carelessness I saw as Tyler moved around our attic. Hanging on ducting, yanking on the electrical cable, and a complete disregard for any strategic blown-in insulation, I was uncomfortable with him being up there. (not to mention his comments regarding how the access 'sucked' and overall lack of enthusiasm) After coming back down he informed me that the job was going to cost 60% more than what was quoted and was going to take 2+ hours to complete. I declined continuing the job and wished him a good day. After excellent service previously, I can't say that I am happy with my experience today and won't be able to recommend them to any friends or coworkers. I hope others continue to have a better experience than what I did today and will be on the hunt for a new go-to electrician. read more

Spent a good amount of time to ensure I understood the process and gave some extremely helpful suggestions for our projects (install LED can light, wire and install ceiling fan and move light switch) Will and another guy came to do the work. They were very conscientious about doing everything the way we wanted. They put up with our pesty dogs even! Pricing was much more reasonable than other bids I had from LICENSED electricians. The best thing ABR has going for them is their outstanding communication. No hesitation recommending ABR Electric. From start to finish, they were great. I needed to install a NEMA 14-50 outlet in my garage for charging an EV. I reached out via e-mail and got a prompt reply with various questions about my house and requests for pictures of the breaker box so that they could run the calculations to see if the a new breaker could be added. They then provided me with a quote for the project. I still had some questions so I called them and the person I talked to on the phone was great in patiently answering all my questions. The install team texted me saying they were running late, but they still arrived in the middle of the arrival window. They surveyed the garage and attic and gave me multiple options and their opinions for where to put the outlet and how to run the wires. They were extremely friendly and funny while remaining pretty professional. A few hours later, I had my EV charging from the outlet. ABR is a treasure! Thanks to Nathan's scheduling, they came to our rescue on July 3 at 3 p.m., then came back to do more work today. We couldn't be more pleased with the work or the professionalism. My workshop and exercise building had a freestanding AC until that wasn't working. James found a major problem with the wiring and got it repaired and running. He made major upgrades in the overhead lighting in the shop and replaced two wall switches. In our house we had him install dimmers on a couple of banks of lights that were just too bright with the new energy-efficient lighting. Very friendly. I have used ABR electric twice now and each time the guys did a great job! I looked on yelp before considering ABR and I'm happy to say that the other reviews r true! 1) One of the reasons I picked ABR is because they would reply messages VERY fast (within the hour) through yelp, EVEN on weekends! I guess most working people only have the weekends to search for household services (electrician/maid/repair), myself included, but most of these places are open only during weekdays, forcing customer to leave voicemails and wait for call backs on Monday. But I didn't need to wait on ABR because Jason always responds fassssst (to my surprise because other places normally don't respond outside of working hours), even tho ABR'a hour says it's closed on the weekend. I guess this is an example of going above and beyond one's job description. A big plus for the company! 2) Price: I asked for multiple quotes from different companies and ABR's was more than reasonable. Another company I contacted tried to get me signed up for some absurd membership in order to give me an discount, yucks!... ABR was straight forward with no gimmicks! +1 for ABR! 3) Service: both times the guys would call before coming and show up on time. They were courteous and explained to me what they were going to do. I have done the typical electrical work such as chandelier installation, fan installation, recessed lighting, under cabinet lighting, etc. Another +1! I hired ABR Electric to install a 50 amps outlet for my Tesla charger. James is the one who did the install. he was very professional and well spoken. He did not just install the outlet but he threw in a hook for the charger free of charge. James showed up an hour before the City of Dallas came to inspect the install. within that time he volunteered to check my door bell and fix it (free of charge). Jason did a load estimate, told me I didn't need to modify my electrical panel, and told me to be aware of other contractors saying otherwise. I called ABR after reading other reviews. I had fluorescent light ballasts to be replaced, LED night lights to be installed (they replace existing outlet plates and connect electrically), a ceiling light can that wasn't hot, and a ceiling fan that needed a new speed control module installed. Tyler and a co-worker arrived exactly on time and handled everything professionally and without issue. They went above and beyond trouble-shooting my ceiling fan that wasn't properly wired for the wall switches and remote usage, tightening the fan blades, and checking the lights and sockets. We just bought a home and had a warranty but the company they used wasn't helpful. We called ABR Electric and the electrician diagnosed everything that the previous owner had done incorrectly. He even added an additional outlet for my workbench in the garage and for less money than I expected to pay to have the other problems fixed according to the first electrician that came out. James came to our apartment in Allen and installed an electrical outlet in the bathroom. This new outlet was used to hook up my Washlet which requires an electrical outlet so it can heat the water and toilet seat. Jame plugged in the washlet to the new outlet and then installed the remote electric box that controls the washlet. Everything works great now and I could not be more happy. Had an potential electric grounding issue I needed checked, based on the reviews called ABR and so glad I did! James was quick to call back and discuss the issue, and was able to get out the next day to take a look. He thoroughly traced the grounding line even through the attic (on a 100+ degree Texas day) to ensure everything was connected correctly, taking time to explain to me exactly what he was looking for and how the entire grounding system functions. Recruited ABR to submit a bid on a scope of work for a home i recently purchased in order to bring the electrical system up to code. Their office staff coordinated the initial inspection so that James and a member of his team could look at what I knew needed to be repaired (from the initial home inspectors notes during purchase process) and to also look at other items that the home inspector missed as well as some custom requests I wanted completed. I can't express how impressed/thankful I was with ABR's thoroughness on the initial inspection and timeliness of getting me the info i needed to make an educated decision. Realizing that ABR educated me on several things that other vendors never mentioned, I chose to go with ABR. Their cost estimate was not the lowest I received (but it was within 5% of all others i received) however it was in line with other estimates, however their detailed scope made me confident that everything I wanted/needed would be handled and that was most important to me; you cannot put a price on peace of mind in my opinion. Previous bids detailed only the major things that the home inspector listed, while the ABR scope detailed things as small as the color of the receptacle covers which you don't really think about when starting this process. His team replaced my panel, installed a whole-home surge protector/hard wired CO2 and smoke & fire alarms/ several GFI outlets in required areas/ hard wired garage light fixture/ several custom outdoor power outlets/ 2 8ft. copper ground rod/ and they also rewired my power supply line for the automatic gate (which involved burying 40 ft of line in PVC about 8 inches in the ground). His team was extremely aware of the aesthetic impact for all items completed and involved me in every decision that related to "how I wanted it to look." All of this was completed in two business days by only two electricians - very impressive if you ask me. Once they were done, they assisted in scheduling the city inspector to come by and for the electric company to come back out to reseal my meter and remove the proverbial "red tag." ABR is easily the best contractor I have worked with since I have been in my home and I will definitely be calling upon ABR again when I have any need related to my home's electrical system. In my opinion, ABR is a well-oiled machine from top to bottom and when it comes to protecting an investment such as a home, as a consumer you really can't ask for anything better. I found ABR on Google and after reading such great reviews, gave them a call. I wasn't sure if my job was too small for them, but it wasn't. Nathan called me back the next morning (I called late in the day the previous day) and gave me a quote over the phone. He was very polite and professional. He was able to send Jason out within minutes. Jason was also very polite and professional. He didn't hesitate to take on my small job of taking down a ceiling fan and installing a chandelier. I also asked if he would take a peek at my breaker panel to see if it is safe and he didn't hesitate to do so, and on top of that, noticed a spot in the brick by my breaker box that needed silicone and said he would fill in the crack for me.
