I've used Absolute Bikes for both of my trips to Sedona. The service is always friendly and knowledgeable. The store is located very close to the Red Rock trails of Sedona. You can easily make reservations over the phone in advance or the same day if bikes are available. A map as well as advice on trails were given. This Bike store rocks!! The Flagstaff general manager (Anthony) arranged for my wife and I to test ride a few bikes from this Sedona Abolute bike store. This store has an absolute amazing staff. I saw Jarod the manager spend 30 minutes answering some guys questions and helping him tweak a few things free of charge. Jarod even offered to drive bikes up to Flagstaff for my wife and I to try out so we didn't have to drive to Sedona for a third time. Darlene and Mckayla made my wife feel like she was part of their family. Both ladies promptly returned multiple calls to help answer any questions my wife had. I could go on and on. Awesome experience at Awesome Bikes. After being told at Bikes and Beans we needed reservations, we walked across the street to Awesome Bikes where we were greeted with open arms. Within minutes we were fitted to some brand new bikes, given safety tips, and helmets, and were off to the adjoining trails. The outfitters were professional and fun to deal with. They also gave us plenty of info on where to go and match our experience level with the correct nearby trails. These guys are experts and locals and had a wide variety of bikes to choose from. $25 for two hours was what we paid, and the discounts are higher for longer rental periods. There's a full service bike shop there too with lots of equipment (far better than an espresso bar, which is what the competition offered). This is the place to rent a bike in Sedona. read more

Was in the store with my family this Thanksgiving Friday 2021 after a ride and purchased $250 worth of cool touristy "Absolute" goods for my kids. I knew it was worth it as I have been in the Salida CO store many times and was thoroughly impressed with the customer service so I was as confident dropping some dough in the Sedona store. However, when I got home and was reviewing my receipts it turns out that I was heavily overcharged for numerous things when comparing to the tags on the clothing. Too late now I'm from out of state. I know I know...My Bad for not babysitting at the register. I paid 99.99 for a KIDS jersey that was marked 79.99. Happy Black Friday!!! Folks, don't make the same mistake that I did. Absolute Bikes was absolutely terrific, from the moment my boyfriend and I walked in (vacationing in Sedona) to rent a mountain bike ... to the rad map they give out and walk you through describing the local trails including mileage and difficulty level... to their 24 hour rental policy... to the ease of return. This was the first time I've ever been truly "weighted and measured" in renting a bike, and the difference was noticeable. The full suspension bike I got from Absolute was comfortable, very shock absorbing, and helped me navigate (fairly) fearlessly through terrain I hadn't been on, from rocks to mud to some sandy trails. From a design perspective, Absolute Bikes is also cool because their logo is impressive, their t-shirts rockin', and damn it (how cool!) they give you a free Absolute Bikes water bottle with your rental!! We are for sure coming back to Sedona, and if I don't have my own killer mtn. bike by then, I'll be renting from Absolute Bikes. read more

Was on a trip for my boys birthday, brought up a bike to surprise him with but the assembly instructions were ridiculously vague, after running into a few issues I brought it in to see if they could help fix the issues, they were kind, friendly, affordable and took care of it in a day. I made a special trip to purchase a specific item. This was my first visit to the shop. Upon getting out of my vehicle I saw a cart with their phone number plastered on red poster board and several pages of writing along with the word "stop". As I approached the door, I saw there was a 4 or 5 page manifesto (presumably about the Covid hysteria) taped to the door. I opened the door, it pull up the mat, almost tripping me. Once I entered, I was immediately yelled at from across the store that I needed to put on a face diaper ( the only greeting I received). So I did and proceeded to go to the area where they item was on display, selected my item, then asked if they had any tubes since there didn't appear to be any in the store. The apparently extremely busy employee (the mask czar) got one from the back. I was ready to give them money (the thing that pays their wages) and was told something about 4 people in the store and some other comment indiscernably muffled by his mask. Another employee did ring me out and I quickly left. I try to support local businesses through this Covid hysteria, but enough already. I'll go online next time. I will give this business a 5 star rating however in their level of Covid hysteria. read more

Great bike shop! Very friendly staff. We took our bikes up to Sedona, and I stripped a bolt on my stem. Stopped in for a new one, and everyone was extremely friendly. Since I was just looking for a quick fix, they gave me a stem at no charge (it was a used Bontrager stem, and since they don't sell used parts---they just gave it to me). I was blown away by the stellar service and knowledgable employees. My hats off to these guys--you have earned a customer for life! ...and thanks again for the stem! read more

Great shop. Rented premium bikes for the week. They had been used hard as expected in such a town but very well maintained, not even the typical dropper post issues. They had no attitude and weren't all weird and warning us about us scratching up the precious carbon like the Moab shops. Made sure we were happy with shock adjustments. Rented a Specialized Diverge to cruise around the mountains on the road! Good and friendly staff! Would rent again from them!

Title: We can't rent to you... We attempted to procure mountain bikes for a ride around Bell Rock and this place was the closest to our resort. We asked to rent mountain bikes and were quickly dismissed being told "The trails are trashed so we can't rent mountain bikes to you today. Today is a hiking day." Interestingly, there was another family trying bikes out in the lot. We called Over the Edge bikes and asked if they were renting bikes and if the trails were okay, and a very helpful employee said, "Come on over. The trails are great today." We did and they took wonderful care of us. We had a great time riding at Bell Rock and quite coincidentally we saw the family that Absolute did rent to on the same trail. I don't want to read into this, but perhaps our bi-racial family (Hispanic and White) was why they might have been unwilling to rent to us. I can only postulate this might have been the young lady's rationale. Bottom line: they missed out on $250. Do yourselves a favor and go to Over the Edge for a professional and friendly experience. read more

Have not ridden a bike in 12 years and was a bit nervous. We just hiked at the grand canyon and wanted to try biking for the red rocks. I am so happy i called this place first. We had a rental car and did not want to have to ride our bike on the road to the trails. The lady was super nice and put up with my million and two questions. To get to the trails it is just cutting through two parking lots and a short side walk. They explained the different types of bikes and prices, we got the basic since i have no clue anything about bikes- they were perfect for us!! Really cheap for four hours. They also explained and recommended trails to use. Had an AMAZING time, spend the whole time out on the trails!! We were really lucky it was a slower day bc we did not have to worry about tons of other people. Which was great bc i screamed going down all the rocky hills! Only thing is we thought did not need sunscreen bc of a cooler day... My arms did not agree!! Wear sunscreen and bring plenty to drink!! read more

We rented mountain bikes for a weekend of riding in Sedona and strongly endorse them for rentals. We called ahead with specs and they were happy to set the bike up with SPD cleats and have the bikes ready to roll when we arrived. So we could get out early in the AM they let us pick the bikes up at closing without additional rental costs. The rental rigs were well-maintained. I baby my bike and through the rental rig was every bit as well-taken care of as my bike. The shop is literally meters from some of Sedona's most iconic trails. You can roll right off their lot onto dozens of different trail combos. The most distinguishing factor was the lack of that bike shop attitude. You know the attitude. It doesn't exist at AB. Instead, the staff here is eager to help and share their passion for riding. We'll be back to ride again in Sedona, and when we do, we'll rent at Absolute Bikes. read more

We rented bikes here because they actually rent based on the hours you plan to use the bike, not just full or half-day rentals...we weren't sure how long I would be able to keep going, so we didn't want to commit to or pay for a lengthy rental. The staff was great about fitting us with bikes and helmets (I have a very large head and have difficulty finding a helmet to fit in some shops) and quickly checked our bikes and had them ready for us. They showed us how to get to and navigate the trails on the map underneath the counter and we were on our way. We had no trouble with the bikes themselves and thoroughly enjoyed our ride. My husband is just getting started on trying to perform some repairs on our bikes, so when we returned he asked the staff a few questions while we waited for our friends to pick us up. The staff was very friendly and patient as they took time to talk to him; obviously they didn't have to take time out of their work to answer questions not related to a rental, but they did. That level of customer service is nice to find in a "touristy" business! read more

I love this shop, great experience. I rented a bike there to demo, and the owner Steve let me try two bikes out during my half day rental, a Pivot and Scott bike. It was a great demo and they fitted the bikes well. The staff is super friendly, down-to-earth and a pleasure to talk to. They even helped me out with a stem swap on another bike for a better fit.
