I wanted to be able to use my iPod in the car. My Toyota had a DVD based nav system. Updated DVDs were around $170--can use my phone for directions much cheaper! Chris, the manager, suggested a new audio system for me that was reasonable in price. The tech who installed it was fantastic. He even suggested I hold onto the factory installed system in case I eventually wanted to sell my car and the buyer wanted original parts. Nine months later, I had a minor problem with the new system. I went to AE and Chris tried his best to fix it and eventually said they would order me a replacement. When the replacement arrived, it only took about 5 minutes to pop in the new one. I have recommended AE to friends for their many services. read more

I was having problems picking out good sounding door speakers. I installed aftermarket speakers myself, but they ended up sounding worse than the stock ones. I wanted something loud. Loud enough so that I could hear every note, while cruising, with the windows down on the highway. I wasn't very familiar on how to pair up stock stereo with aftermarket equipment. They offered Great products, and I ended up getting more things than just door speakers. Good customer service. Told me exactly what I needed. The place is pretty small, hard to see from the street, and very low key. Not much of a waiting area, except for the tv with satellite control. But when It comes to me getting things done for my car, I don't expect to be sitting on a red velvet chair and served champagne. I was looking to improve upon the sound from my car's (horrible sound from 2016 WRX) stock head unit and Ata took his time to go over options, quoting the work at a fair price. Ata did not attempt to push high end only equipment, but he showed me (and sampled) several options at various price points and left it at that. The attention to detail on the install was excellent, something I am very particular on. After neck fusion, I needed to have a camera system installed on my RAM truck and travel trailer. I purchased the system from another source and had Ata and his team install the system. The original monitor was found to be defective during the installation and to my surprise, Ata, the owner, worked with both the manufacturer and the out-of-state company from who I bought the system to troubleshoot and replace the monitor. Once the new monitor was received, the installation was completed and worked great. Finally broke down after months of "suggestions" and bought a flip-down DVD player for my SUV. Installation went well and the unit looked great and sounded great too. Upon testing it on the highway for the first time, my snobbish ears heard some white noise in the background of the Alpine wireless headphones - my wife didn't notice and my three-year-old couldn't have cared less. I took it back to Chris and after figuring out that the Infrared can be dicey if you are in the front seat or tucked in the backseat by the window, we realized it wasn't the best sounding system but was more than fine. Still, the FM transmitter seemed off and the team ended up installing an audio cable connecting the DVD player to my AUX input. They did it for free because of the hassle I had in coming back before my vacation. While the unit I bought might be two or three stars, the team installing it gets a five. read more

At least for car audio installments, I had a 2000 watt system installed in my car, keep in mind that as the consumer I dont have a substantial amount of knowledge about audio systems that you would think these guys would. After returning to my car about an hour and a half later the guy was just finishing up, I had mentioned to him that the 12" subs he had just installed didnt sound good at all, or that they werent hitting like they were supposed to. His only response was "thats all I can do". WOW seriously bro! He had no intention on trying to help me adjust the amplifier settings or my HU settings to get the right sound. Had a remote start installed, owner was very nice on the phone but in person he was very rude. Didn't give instructions on how the system operated. When I got home I thought there was a problem because my car was Turing it self on an off. I called ATA the owner the next day, explained to him I was having issues an he stated bring the car back, I don't want to deal with your issues an ill rip my stuff out an give your money back. I asked do u not want to look at it an try an fix it an he stared NO, an hung up. I took my car to another place in Baltimore the next day an found out the device was installed ok but I needed to do a couple steps after remote starting the vehicle an he did not explain that at all. This shop in Gaithersburg is very small, In a warehouse. No waiting area an in a bad neighborhood. Very getto an not professional. Good store. This review is based on the "boss" of the store, who I worked with primarily. I read good reviews here on yelp so I called to see if they could fit me in same day during the holiday season (New Years Day) for a new radio. They said they were busy but could squeeze me in. So I took my lady there because her radio has been broken for a year. They suggested to take a look at her radio first to potentially save a lot of money and fix it for $30. If they couldn't, we could use that $30 towards a new radio. The end result was her radio had a malfunction which they showed us first before moving forward. Within an hour, we had a new and better radio which was $200 and an $80 installation fee. The "boss" gave us the radio for $120, and only $40 for the installation! Crazy! What a good person! Saved me a lot of money! They showed us how to work this awesome radio and my lady and I left very happy and pleased, especially her! I highly reccomend this store for audio purposes. read more
