How do you get a five star rating without doing any work? Read on. To be clear, we did not hire Absolute Paradise Landscaping (APL) at this time. Nevertheless, we felt APL deserved our review anyway. Here is why: First, the company's communications with us were excellent. Our initial meeting was scheduled at our convenience. They were also very clear in identifying and explaining certain limitations regarding our project- a strong indication our general project plan was not just read, but studied in advance of our meeting. Our project was a complete front and back yard redo (including building planters and installing hardscape). I met with Steve, a very personable and knowledgeable individual. I was very impressed with his candor and honesty. He explained to me what his company's licensing authorized them to do and some things about our project that were beyond the scope of their licensing. Imagine, an honest contractor! I respected Steve's candor and integrity for disclosing that during our meeting. It signaled what we could expect in the quality of the work (had we hired APL). I felt APL had our best interests in mind in laying out its capabilities to make our yard dreams come true. I am keeping APL in my contacts for future reference. Reach out to them. Steve came out and gave the bid to tear out 180'sq2 of poorly done pavers that had come woth the house. Several days later, Kelani and Pono came out and in three days, they had installed about 380'sq2. I liked that their guys didn't rush but moved methodically/systematically make sure to grade it perfectly, carefully lay out the bricks based on color, and even helped me move my pergola off of the old patio. I really liked that theyre locensed, bonded, and insured and their guys are American citizens (as opposed to borderline slave labor recruited from a Home Depot parking lot - I've been in construction for 25+ years so I know the chasm in quality between the two). They showed up on time and got done what they said they'd get done. I didnt have to deal with the "no-call, no-show" only to show up days later as if nothing happened (as the Home Depot parking lot demographic are notorious for doing). A few days after they finished, I sealed it with Eagle Supreme Seal from Lowes, it took about 4.5 gallons of it with a roller. Pictures are attached read more

Very happy with our backyard! We had our original patio ripped up to match the pavers for our second patio. We also got artificial turf for our dog, irrigation for plants and stepping stones. Steve gave us a fair quote/estimate after the free consult. He listened to us and gave us recommendations that fit our needs. I first used Steve's company almost three years ago, when I wanted artificial grass in my backyard for my dogs. When I moved last fall, I had a much bigger yard that needed artificial grass AND landscaping. I didn't bother to get a second bid because I was already familiar with Steve and his work. We live in Henderson and used Absolute Paradise to convert our front lawn to desert landscaping and to add a new walkway down the side of our house to the backyard. We weren't exactly sure where to start and needed suggestions on the types of plants that would do best in our yard. We also wanted to make sure we used a water-smart contractor approved by the SNWA. Steve came to our house helped us with a plan for the design, including suggestions for the plants, landscape rocks, and pavers. They removed our grass and replaced the sprinkler system with drip line irrigation. His crew had everything planted and the paver walkway installed over a couple of days. The job was completed faster than we expected and they left our yard spotless. It has been about 6 months, and everything is thriving and looks amazing. This company overall did a decently good job and the employees were good. The costs unfortunately were much higher than others. I hired Steve, who was friendly, and his team mostly to support a veteran-owned local company. I had a small paver extension, a 2x10 paver walkway, and a few trees planted with irrigation by his team. I live in a new neighborhood and talk to neighbors a lot and had given them Steve's company info because as I mentioned I like to support veteran-owned companies. Several of them mentioned getting quotes from Absolute that were much higher than other quotes. I've since gotten quotes on other work to be done and had them quote the work done previously. All quotes from licensed landscapers with good reviews were significantly lower than Absolute (by 30-50%) higher than others. Again, nice people but I definitely paid too much. I also feel like my communication with them was very fragmented and several times had to make multiple attempts to get a hold of Steve (the owner apologized which was good). read more
