Very professional and have done an excellent job so far. I have about a half-acre property, and my previous landscaper suddenly disappeared, so I needed someone reliable. On their first visit, they removed almost all of the weeds and cleaned up the property far beyond my expectations. Since then, their monthly service has been consistent and thorough. They've also been flexible with scheduling when needed and always send invoices and payment receipts promptly, which unfortunately isn't always common in this industry. My only minor issue is I've asked for a list of ingredients and brand type for their request to spray and I have not received that, it's been nearly a week. Very minor issue at this point. I found Jr's lawn Maintenance on Yelp, and got a quote from them along with some quotes from other landscapers for a broken rainbird system and dead plants we had in our front yard. We knew we had to fix the problem, but we didn't want to spend the money right then until we started getting those HOA letters. Anyway, I really liked Horacio and his team. They were punctual, professional, polite, knowledgeable, and he explained to me in detail what he'd have to do to fix the problem. I got in touch with his office staff who is just as nice btw, and she sent me a quote, I paid the deposit, and they did the work they quoted with no issues. A few months later I was setting up a Christmas inflatable and I must have stepped on a sprinkler head and busted it straight off. I called their office, and they sent Horacio out next day to repair it for me. I did have to pay for that, which is no problem because after all it was my fault! We had a great experience with JR's lawn Maintenance. From the initial consultation to the finished job, the professionals at JR's were great. The main concern was a leak coming from the pressure regulator/filter/valve. They not only replaced the entire assy., the crew rerouted the assy. to allow unobstructed room with all new parts. We also had our planter excavated about 3 feet down and after the roots and hard dirt was cleared, the entire irrigation drip lines and timer were all replaced, as well as a "Canopy irrigation" system of bubblers for our tree. We bought the soil ourselves for the excavated planter, (Go to Home Depot, it's cheaper than STAR) and the only charge for a "Backfill" was $25 per plant that went back in. Worth it, as they arranged everything and routed the bubblers perfectly. All said and done, this Company outdid themselves for 3 hours and cleaned everything up and even pulled most of the weeds that were all over our front rocks. Do yourselves a favor and have these guys do the project. They are REALLY good at it!! read more

I booked an appointment to have someone come out for an estimate 2 days before the appointment . I was told I would be given a 2 hour timeframe. On the day of the appointment I waited around for 2 hours no one showed up. I called they gave me a new timeframe for two hours later. REALLY? No notice nothing just changed my time like that? If you're that unprofessional on a 2 hour timeframe for an estimate. I can't imagine what it's like for you to actually do work. RED FLAG! I would not recommend them for services. I hired JRS for what I hoped would be professional irrigation and pruning, but they delivered a classic "blow and go" service with zero knowledge of local flora. Despite my specific instructions, they treated my yard like a construction site rather than a landscape. The "Highlights" of their damage: The "Cupcake" Special: They ignored the natural growth habits of my desert plants. They turned my Deer Grass and Purple Fountain Grass into flat-top mounds and "pineappled" my agaves. Everything now looks like a gumdrop or a cupcake. Zero Plant Knowledge: They trimmed cactus and flowering plants I explicitly told them not to touch. They showed no regard for the timing of pruning or the wildflowers I had clearly identified. Cleaning Negligence: They used leaf blowers directly on delicate plants, causing visible trauma and damage. To top it off, they blew half the debris from the yard directly into my pool. I understand some dust moves, but blowing toward the water is just lazy. Thankfully, they never got to the irrigation system before I stopped them, but I'm still out the money for a service that I now have to spend weeks (or months of growth) fixing. If you care about the health and aesthetic of your desert plants, do not hire this company. They are for people who want "mow and blow" speed, not professional horticulture. read more

I wanted to leave a review regarding my experience with Junior Lawn and Landscaping. I had a leak in my front yard irrigation system, so I contacted them to come take a look. I was informed they first needed to send out an estimator, which was understandable. The appointment was scheduled for the following morning between 8 AM and 12 PM, so I took the morning off from work to be available. Around 11 AM, I called for an update, only to be told that I was actually scheduled for the afternoon. While that was frustrating, I decided to work with them and wait. The estimator eventually came out and advised that they would need to send a project manager along with the actual technician who would perform the repair work. The scheduler then contacted me, and we scheduled another appointment for the following morning. Once again, I took another morning off to wait for them. Around 9 AM, I had a feeling I should call again for an update, and once again I was told that I had actually been scheduled for the afternoon. The explanation given was that since I live in Las Vegas, their project manager had started the day in Henderson and would not be able to make it out until later. At that point, I decided to cancel the service and requested my deposit back, which they did refund. Overall, the communication and scheduling experience was very disappointing. It felt like there was little regard for the customer's time, especially after I rearranged my schedule twice based on the appointment windows I was originally given. While I understand delays and scheduling conflicts can happen, better communication and consistency would have gone a long way. In the end, I decided to move on and find another company. read more

Then, when it's not working correctly, instead of just taking down the needed info, telling me to jump thru additional hoops so the automation works? How about just straight forward communication without the additional steps I get it, you're trying to "streamline leads" - but if it's not working, it would be nice to just give you the info over the phone. I reached out to Jr's Lawn for a quote. A knowledgeable supervisor came and thoroughly walked the property with me. Subsequently I received a quote that I thought was fair, to service my yard once a month. After 3 months servicing, I received a notice requiring me to approve Jr's to provide service twice per month at double the cost originally quoted. The "Bait and Switch" routine to double their fees doesn't work with me. I was surprised at how they chose to work with me as a client. UPDATE: Update: My housesitter noticed the day after they left from the final service that one of the mainlines was busted. This is the third time I have had to fix an irrigation issue since I hired them. While they insist that it is not their issue since they don't service irrigation, it is still their responsibility since it's being damaged with their visits. I do not think they are doing this on purpose; however, whether it's an accident or not, it's still their responsibility to fix what they damage in the course of their work. If you look through their other reviews, especially on Yelp, you'll notice this is a recurring theme. For lack of better phrasing, there are "side effects" when they work, and while the work itself may be decent, the damage caused to other areas that are not in their work they will not be responsible for. There seems to be a misunderstanding of how and what accountability means. I had a mixed experience with Jr's. At first, things seemed to be great. They are more expensive than most companies, but you get what you pay for and their professionalism is top notch, I'll give them that. However, in April, I was in pieces because a rose bush that I had personally planted with sentimental value was completely destroyed; all it's spring blooms had been blown off when they came through for monthly maintenance. I reached out and asked them to be more careful. Later, when one of the plants they had installed died, I asked them to replace it. They told me it would cost me another $75, despite the plant not making it more than a couple months. All the other plants had, and I paid over a grand for them to initially clean up my landscaping and install several new plants. It came off as nickel-and-dimeing. I am willing to pay more for a better experience but I do expect a level of accountability that comes with it. It wasn't due to my negligence or because the plant was super old and on it's way out anyways. They planted it not long ago, so to hit me with a $75 bill just seemed like poor accountability on their part. I would have even paid for the cost of the plant, that seems reasonable, but the blunt invoice that I was sent in response to the photo I sent them was just handled really poorly. I'm also bummed I have to find a new landscaper now because I can't have a company around unwilling to be reasonably responsible for their work. read more

The process to get an estimate and schedule the work was very smooth and easy. On the day the workers came out to start the work, they were all great and worked hard. In the end, I'm happy with the way they installed the pavers and the work those guys did. The reason for the low rating came in how the company dealt with me after they got the almost $4,000 payment from me. During the estimate, they came out and actually shared a great plan for the work they could do. At that time, they mentioned that my gate door would likely need to be lifted because the level of the pavers once installed was probably going to interfere with its function. I asked if that's something they could help me with as well, and the representative said yes, it was easy enough to do. Perfect. I received the estimate later in my email, sent the nearly $2,000 deposit, and scheduled the work. On job day, I talked to one of the workers as they were finishing. He mentioned they were almost done, but that their boss would come the next day to fix the gate. He stated because me it was something his boss handles. That night I got the notice I was charged the other nearly $2,000 on my card--no problem. The next day, nobody showed up. Two days later, I called into the office and inquired about the door needing to still be fixed. In short, I was told that they communicated with the person who spoke to me about it and they confirmed he did talk to me about it, but it was not included in the written estimate. But no problem, they could schedule to come out and fix it the next day if I paid an additional $150. I will say the lady I spoke with was nice, and it wasn't her fault. She confirmed she called the employee, and he agreed we had talked about it during our planning, but it was never included in the written estimate, and that I should have caught it earlier, she could've done something about it. I just spent $4,000 on a landscaping job, no haggling or anything. I could care less about spending another $150. But I don't believe it's my fault that I was told the gate would need to be raised. They confirmed they could raise it as well during the planning stage. The worker is finishing the job and tells me the gate will be fixed the next day, then nobody shows up and then I get told this story over the phone. Just to get another $150 out of me!?! To be clear, they needed to remove the gate to complete the work. They put it back, and just like I was told... the pavers block the gate. My gate DOES NOT OPEN. I can't take my trash cans out or do anything through that one and only gate to my backyard. Thanks, but I'll pay someone else double the $150 to fix the gate. Beware on doing business with this company.....maybe like the lady on the phone told me....it should be in writing. If you decide to work with them, make sure to double check what you want is in writing, no matter how small. read more

We had used this company in the past, and had a pretty good experience. When we called them back to trim our oleanders to wall height, they gave us a quote that was similar to other companies, so we used them since they had been reliable in the past. This time was totally different. We needed work done by a Saturday for a neighbors Sunday party. We asked them to come on a Wednesday. They said yes. They didn't show up until Saturday, and we agreed to have them work since the event was on Sunday and we needed the yard work done. They showed up on Saturday finally and none of their power tools worked. My partner heard the horrible sounds coming from their gear and went out and bought a chainsaw. 2 hours in nothing had happened, and they left to get more equipment! They came back 2 hours later, and tried to hand carry everything the underaged child had hand cut out of my yard because they didn't even have bags or wheel barrels for oleanders! No gloves. No masks. No equipment. Masks partner ended up cutting back the oleanders for our neighbors event. They wanted to come back on Monday to finish the job, and then complained about how much was cut back and they couldn't take all the "trash" away. It was literally oleander which is what they were hired to do and didn't. I had to help a friend and left them to the backyard while I was gone and came back to the older dude drinking Michelendas, the middle aged dude was spun out from EDC and the kid was on his phone the entire time. After I confronted them, they kept telling me the job was done. The kid told me they needed to leave all the oleander on the ground to help them grow. He told me I knew nothing about gardening. It was a calm Karen moment with me for sure. Do not use this company. I gave them their money that was undeserved because honestly I was scared. read more

Do not use these people. I was quoted roughly $300 for a job. A field rep came out and I explained what I had wanted done and we agreed on the price. It was done incorrectly the first time so I had them come back out to fix it. After they did half of the work they proceeded say they would need another $300 to finish because they underestimated how long it would take. The additional time that they needed was due to them doing it incorrectly in the first place. I tried to express my dissatisfaction and they seemed to not care. Awful. read more

Called to schedule a quote for overseeding and weed control. Lady says they are only available when I'm at work and if I give permission to access my yard then they can come. I said great that's fine and schedule an appt. Then almost immediately after that I get an email from Victoria saying it could be quite the job and it would be better to replace everything with sod, turf, or rock and if I wanted a quote for that they could (already trying to upsell me). I said no thank you I want to bring back my original grass which isn't that bad. No reply. This was on the 20th, on the 24th they were supposed to come out and give me an estimate for overseeding. I messaged on the 25th asking if anyone came out because I didn't hear anything. Again Victoria emails and says; "We would like to inform you that we will not be offering reseeding services this year. However, we are available to assist you with resodding or exploring alternative materials for your lawn care needs." Again this seems like an upsell. I asked if anyone even came out to look at the lawn and got no response. Definitely not a company I would ever hire in the future if they can't fulfill the expectations to come out for a quote and try to upsell you without even looking at the lawn. read more

So Yelp has never let me down comes to home owner repairs. After searching several different company and reading reviews I settled on Jr's Lawn Maintenance. I needed to replace irrigation valves that was leaking pretty bad. Thankfully day noticed found Jr's Lawn Maintenance cause same day called they were able come out locate problem and quote me free estimate. Juan was very honest talking about my issues. He was receptive to my questions the whole time, thoroughly explaining the pros and cons, and not did I feel overwhelmed but felt like part of the process. Never felt pressure do anything that not comfortable for me. He found two out of the four valves needed to be replaced. Suggested change all four. I had one of the four valves change years ago. I know made sense do all four since house close twenty years old and only done one valve. I feel Juan had my best interest long term. I also have been thinking about fixing my front yard. It been long past due. You can see looked bad nothing to be proud of. I could not be more happy the way desert landscaping turned out! Again Juan explained vision one that learned lot about rocks. I wanted it simple put rocks on that section. He explained the different color rocks options, sizes of rocks, and way it all comes together. Juan and his crew are artists cause made something ugly into front yard proud of! The communication from first call absolutely FIVE stars! Victoria has been pleasure work with from day one. Our main is turned off due to the large amount of water exploding. Our tree company landed a HUGE log from the tree onto the ground and punctured a pipe. Victoria said they would call 30 minutes prior. Ten till 4 on Juan called, didn't leave a message. At exactly 8 minutes later I called him back and he said they couldn't get to us today. So basically they had us waiting and now we have no water tonight. Called Victoria to say NO I don't want their appointment tomorrow and she said that he had tried to call, another total lie. I came to Yelp and realized they close at 4pm, so basically just another garbage company that doesn't want to work here in Vegas.
