Very disappointed with Big Bully Turf's customer service. They came out to my home to do a site audit and told me to look out for windows that could reflect the sun and burn the artificial grass. There were no windows, so I was given the all-clear. My yard has a metal fence, they never mentioned that sun reflecting off it could burn the grass, otherwise I would never have installed turf there. After a few months the grass started burning from the fence reflection. When I called and sent a photo, the representative instantly identified the fence as the cause, which tells me this was something they already knew about, yet failed to flag during the site audit. They are now asking me to cover the full cost of replacement and repair for something they missed. Very disappointed in a company that does a site audit but takes no responsibility when that audit falls short. read more

We finally pulled the trigger on redoing our back yard in artificial turf and we couldn't be happier! Kenny was our designer, I had a good idea of what we were looking for and Kenny kept right up answering questions and making suggestions where I wasn't sure. John was our project manager and kept everything running smooth just as one would hope. Jesus and the boys busted their butts in our previously barked, dry dirty and hard as a rock back yard and got the whole thing 98% done in 1 day. A bit more rock was needed for a bed around some peach trees and Jesus himself brought it, hauled it, and didn't just call it good once the rock was in, but took the time to spray the rocks off and blow off all the turf making everything look brand new fresh! We had Big Bully Turf installed at our home. It was approximately 1800 sqft. We had 8 large trees. Mike was our contract lead and Michael was our overall installation lead. The job was done over 3 long days. Each tree had 3 to 4 underground drip lines installed. The job was extremely professional. Everything was done with care. I highly recommend Big Bully Turf. Unfortunately I can't say my experience with Big Bully was anything great. I was sold on a bunch of open promises. Had a series of miscommunications. First had my install moved up but then due to issues with wrong product being delivered or not delivered and weather had to move the install to a later date. Then they showed up late in the afternoon on my rescheduled day and only did half the install. Had to end up returning 3 times to complete the install of the turf. I was promised a one day install that would be easy and seamless process. Now having a the turf for a week. I have already had them come back twice to fix things. With all the trouble I had it wasn't worth the price I paid. In the end the turf may look good but it was a lot of trouble to get there. read more

Two years after giving Big Bully a five star review and after having this turf, we are very disappointed. We are not new turf owners. We have had fake turf for over 30 years now. Wanted to try something new so we gave Big Bully a chance since they came in with the lowest price, I guess you get what you pay for. We have a lot of weeds peeking through the turf and the quality is definitely not what we expected or agreed to for the long haul. Kind of makes me wonder and question whether or not the sample we approved was actually the turf that they installed because it looks like crap right now. We are only two years in and this grass looks old and REALLY pathetic. We were told we would NEVER have weeds I trusted them and then when I called to complain, REPEATEDLY, not even one year later (well under the warranty date for the install), , they finally sent someone out to just shut me up to spray a little weed block. One year later we have yet even more weeds again and worse than before,! NEVER in 30 years of owning fake turf have we ever had weeds, now we have a bunch of them, I called them immediately and they told me they do not cover weeds that is not with the sales person told us he promised us. We would "never have weeds." That was a huge concern of mine because I know chat is not cheap and a lot of companies skimp on it. This one was no different . I blame their installation policies. They do not seem to use enough chat underneath the actual "grass" to prevent weeds from happening. They also never put (or offered), underlayment under the rocks that they laid. I didn't need to think that I would have to babysit them to make sure that they were doing what the standard practice is for any normal landscaper laying rocks on dirt. I now have weeds poking up through the rocks too as well as having areas that are now "peeking up" that were never secured properly with the right amount of nails. This is going to have to all be redone at some point. Just a VERY disappointing experience, two years later because we were so excited in the beginning and it all looked so beautiful. First and foremost, I'd say this company has a great turf product and it looks great in our backyard. The entire process however, not so much. The consultation went well and James did a great job designing the space and answering all our questions. It seems like the sales consultants have wiggle room in their pitch and can offer you "discounts" and move on the price. Make sure if you use this company, to ask about discounts so you're not paying their full marked up price. Once we came to an agreement, we were told scheduling was 2-3 weeks out and we would be contacted to schedule a date for install. 3 weeks passed, nobody reached out, and I had to call the company myself. We finally got on the schedule an additional 2 weeks out, and were told the project would take about 2 days to complete. The week of our install came and I got a call from the company, stating their truck had broke down, and they needed to reschedule. Two weeks later the installers came and did an awesome job getting the yard ready, laying the turf, and starting a retaining wall. We were informed they did not order enough blocks for the retaining wall and would have to come back to finish. A few weeks later they came back with the block and mostly finished the wall. However, they informed us they didn't order enough cap bricks for the wall and would have to come back again to complete the job. Throughout the course of the project, we were in contact with our project manager and sales consultant who provided little remedy other than "thank you for being patient." The communication was poor throughout the process. I asked to be put in contact with a supervisor. The supervisor also provided little remedy for the situation other than answering general questions about the project and expressing that she wanted to get the job completed soon. The crew finally came back and finished up and it is a big improvement on what the yard looked like before. The install crew was the best part of the project and seemed to be the only ones who were forthcoming with information on the project. Overall, working with this company was delay after delay and poor communication about what was happening. I would recommend buying the turf directly from the company and having someone else install it. Hopefully this review can let others know what to expect when dealing with this company. read more

Failed to show up to give a quote. We called to find out why and they blamed it on their AI (which had been sending us marketing text messages). We set a new time for today. The guy showed up at the wrong time (90 minutes early), so I asked him to come back at the right time and he showed up 30 minutes late, with no apology or explanation. Then he gave us a quote that was more than their next competitor, even with the 30% discount that they offered for the inconvenience of the first no-show (that same discount is all over their website, so they weren't actually giving us anything we couldn't have got anyway). I paid almost $4000 for a tiny bit of turf. Looked great at first, but I can't get the leaves off. The small stuff sticks like glue. I called Big Bully to find out the best way to keep it nice, but "customer service" was only interested in selling me more turf. She said she couldnt answer my simple question, that I had to email the warranties department. Of course, warranties didn't respond to my email. Stay away. To have turf installed is an investment and is expensive. I went with this company because I believed that they offer a good product and take pets into consideration, especially when it comes to odor. Well here is the deal, the turf this turf isn't anything special. Now mind you, I know there will be some odor and routine maintenance necessary like all turf. This just isn't anything special. The installation: they used old rusted nails for the install. How do I know, well my dogs pulled up the edge within one week of it being installed. How did they do that? Easy when the minimum amount of nails were used and if they are old. So what now? They have a warranty on the turf for installation purposes. I'm still waiting for them to fix my turf and this happened in April. Constantly leaving messages. The project manager I spoke to ( I won't leave the name out of respect for privacy) would say he would follow up or call back on a specific date but never does. Then he will say, "nobody called you?" Well duh or I wouldn't be calling back. Then he will say, " oh which property is this? I'm working on so many I can't keep up." Mind you this is after providing the address and explaining the concern. When was the last time I called. Saturday. Asking for a call Monday. Nothing. Oh and I still don't have a direct person to talk to because they keep passing the buck. Meanwhile I have pieces of lawn furniture down on the edges so the dogs won't dig it up any further. Don't waste your time with this company because the customer service and installation process are poor. BUYER BEWARE We hired this company to replace our existing turf after our dogs damaged the old installation. During the sales visit, Michael inspected the area, acknowledged our prior issues, and told us he had never seen turf fail the way we described. He assured us that if anything similar happened, it would be taken care of. Based on that reassurance, we signed a contract and paid a 50% deposit. Communication problems started immediately. No one called to schedule installation. When I contacted the office, the person I reached seemed unaware of our project. We were later told the company uses remote workers who have limited information. On installation day, we were told materials would arrive at 5:30 a.m. so they wouldn't interfere with other construction crews. No one showed up. The install crew arrived before the materials, hours late, with no communication. Within 36 hours of installation, a golf-ball-sized bald spot appeared. When lightly tugged, the turf fibers pulled out easily, and seams were clearly visible -- something that should not happen with properly installed turf. Despite: The sales rep sees prior issues, assurances that problems would be handled, a failure occurring almost immediately after install, and the Warranty Department denied coverage, claiming this was not "normal damage coverage." After repeated escalation, a repair was done, The Project Manager confirmed the turf fibers were coming out abnormally, and we were told that replacement would happen after talking to the manufacturer. Then the story changed again. We were told the manufacturer found no issue and that turf fibers pulling out was "normal." At that point, we requested full removal and a refund. A product that fails within 36 hours -- and that the company refuses to stand behind -- is not acceptable. After requesting a refund, we were ghosted. Calls and messages went unanswered until we contacted every number we could find. Only then did someone respond, suggesting we "wait a few weeks" -- knowing full well turf does not grow back. End Result: The turf was finally replaced. CREW was exceptional, but we still to this day have not received a call from Michael, Randy, or even Chelsea. Summary: Missed schedules and poor communication Conflicting information from multiple employees Turf failure within 36 hours Warranty refusal despite prior assurances Ghosting once payment was complete If you're considering this company, proceed with extreme caution. Overall: the execution and coordination of my job has been messy and resulted in a remodel that frankly looks a little sloppy. Strongly recommend you make your contract with this company very explicit. background: I contacted Big Bully Turf in October November of last year. This is a belated review. The sales guy I worked with. Promised to fix some of the issues with my . One of which was old concrete and a slanted slope. The plan was to make it flat. However, when the was being done, they ended up putting pavers on top of the concrete, which actually increased the slope/slant of my patio. It now has a near 15% Angle to it and is nowhere near flat. Additionally, the pavers were put on top of old concrete and they didn't remove concrete as was promised so the surface is not smooth, it looks like I did the job myself. So I brought this up to the sales person and said that I wanted them to fix the work and add additional Astroturf. He quoted me $800 for the work. and they sent the original crew out there to do some of the rework. Which wasn't done very well. Also about three weeks went by (Holiday break) but nobody responded to my texts so I reached out multiple times and finally got in touch with the project coordinator who told me the sales person had been recently fired. I then had negotiate with the warranty department to redo the work and they refused multiple times and I then asked for a new sales person. He visited, agreed the work was sloppy, and accepted the quote I had gotten earlier from the first salesmen. I had the screenshot showing $800 but then the warranty depreciated said they would not honor the price. So, I was bounced around to a few different folks within the company. The new sales guy said a new crew would come out and re- do the work then disappear and I would never see him again. They had the original crew come out to redo the and their crew complained to me that they were not making enough money from the job. This is pretty inappropriate so I told the company about this, and also the patio Turf was just not flatten or smooth, so then big bully and I agreed to extend the Astroturf like I wanted they sent out a second crew, and I was told the first crew had been fired from the company as well! The second crew did a good job of fixing mistakes, but there's still gaps in pavers, it's not a smooth paver surface, and there's again that 15% decline in my Patio. They did what they could, but I think they admitted the work wasn't done properly in the first place and redoing it would be extensive and costly. Which is why I don't think the company approved to doing that rework and fought me on it. I don't think this is one person fault within them the company, but it definitely seems like a systemic breakdown. And I'm also disappointed that professionals could execute to a job that was sloppy and frankly half assed from the first start; this is a classic issue of not doing things right the first time. by the way, the company did execute the additional but cost of $1.3 thousand so $500 more than my original quote. To be honest, the does look better. And so I think it was a good move, but it wasn't smooth, painless what I was originally hoping for. I recommend you make your contract, extremely detailed with this company to not allow them any wiggle room execution. read more
