I don't often leave reviews, mostly because I'm super busy, but my experience this morning with Bill was notable. I reached out to several plumbers for estimates, thinking I needed to completely replace the valve for our tub/shower knob. Bill was the only one that pointed out that I could easily order a new knob to fix the problem myself, if I wanted to. He didn't charge me for this brief assessment, even though it meant that I didn't need to hire him. I appreciate him suggesting low cost options, given that we'll be completely renovating our bathroom in the next year and I just needed something to work until then. We had been home from vacation for a week and noticed a drip from our drainage pipe. We thought perhaps it was morning dew off the roof collecting in the drainage pipes from the down spouts but after a few days the drip got faster and there wasn't any more morning dew. So we searched Yelp and since we like to use local CV people we called Bill and he said he could be over in an hour. Exactly 1 hour later he came over. He quickly showed us how to read the water meter to determine we had a water pipe leak. Then we showed him the drainage pipe and he determined it was probably the pipe fitting below the main shit off value that was leaking water down into the drainage pipe. Sure enough after poking around and removing some dirt there was the water squirting out of the pipe fitting leaking down into our drainage pipe. Bill went to gather a few supplies and had it fixed in a timely fashion. He was very nice and very knowledgeable. The job was finished and we had our water back on in no time to the house. It is so rare to find such honesty and integrity in a person as I experienced with Bill.The plumbing in my jacuzzi tub was leaking. I spoke with a few plumbers and was told that they would have to cut into my tub to find the leak and it could cost a lot. Bill said to send him pictures. Bill and his colleague, Greg, have done two major repairs in our Castro Valley home. The first was a leak in a pipe that was in our concrete foundation. He hired a professional who was able to pinpoint where the leak was (we have no crawl space), pulled up the tile and concrete, fixed the leak and put everything back the way it was. Nobody would ever be able to tell the job was done - they even kept our tile in one piece so we didn't need to buy new tile. Next, we had another water leak under the house in a different location (yay). Because of the location of this leak and the age of our pipes, Bill recommended we re-pipe the whole house. We knew this was coming when we bought a 60 year-old house, so we agreed. He was extremely flexible with us and our schedule. He and Greg did the entire job in less than 2 days. To be honest, I didn't get any other quotes because I trust Bill enough to know he's not taking me for a ride. He's also great at the little things like kitchen sinks. Say you, hypothetically, decide to take apart the 50 tiny pieces in your kitchen faucet to install a broken piece, try to put them back together, hypothetically, and you can't figure it out after 3 hours of trying. I am absolutely glad I called Absolute Plumbing. I have used Roto Rooter and other plumbing companies, and was never impressed, but with Bill I had a very pleasant experience, and felt I found someone that knows and embraces his trade professionally. DETAILS: From the first phone call, Bill seemed very pleasant, professional, and clearly customer service oriented. If that isn't enough then read on. After explaining the bathtub/shower diverter issue with him and other jobs that needed attention, I asked if there was any price difference for weekend or weekday jobs, and he said its all the same. What a relief, other places charged differently for weekend work. I explained to him the facets are Kohler faucets that the builder installed, and he seemed to know exactly how to work with the Kohler faucets...what a relief (by the way I'm not a fan of Kohler facets, I had to replace other items before). At the scheduled appointment, Bill was on time, he quickly knew what type of water diverter I needed and offered two types. I picked the $30 diverters versus the $20 types, the $20 version looked exactly like the ones the builder used, and the $30 ones just look better, and after the install they worked better than expected. I explained to Bill that we had a slow drip in two showers, I failed to mention this during the initial phone call, he explained what he would have to do to stop the leak. I informed him on the technique that the Roto Rooter guys used, and he mentioned that was a "patch / bandaid" treatment, I guess it was as I still have a slow drip, sigh. Good news is that he knows how to fix and I will be scheduling the next job with him (he needs to order the correct parts), the Roto Rooter guys went to Lowe's to get parts and the weird part is that I had to drive them in my car, weird, just weird. Lastly, the price point was reasonable too. If you aren't convinced with Absolute Plumbing then good luck in your search, I'm 100% sold on Bill and Absolute Plumbing, and will be calling on him again. read more

Bill just installed a high efficiency American Standard Champion 4 toilet with handicapped accessories for my mother. It's the toilet with a Yelp following. You can flush 10 fat Hot dogs down it at a time. Even a bucket of golf balls. He's been here many times and we trust him implicitly. Does clean impeccable work as always. I received a call from my water utility company, stating that last month I had been using over 800 gallons of water per day and either I had a leak or was using excessive amounts of water. I tried to trouble shoot the problem, and it looked like I had a main water leak, I got 5 bids to have my main water line replaced. When I called Bill from Absolute Plumbing, he was very responsive and came out to give me a bid on re-routing my main water line. His bid was in the middle of the pack and I decided to use him because his pricing seemed reasonable and his great reviews on Yelp. I thought I would again test the shut off valve to the main water line one more time (maybe this time I used more strength to shut off the valve) and I notice very little leaking and less of a spin on the meter. I called Bill and told him, that I am noticed very little leak and maybe it is not my main water line. Bill said he would come out that day (since he was close to my house) and try to trouble shoot the problem. Bill was very skillful and diligent in finding the leak. It turned out the leak was my irrigation valve. PROBLEM SOLVED! He saved me thousands of dollars. Bill was exceptionally helpful. I have not had water in my house two days now because I had a broken water valve to the kitchen sink. Our whirlpool water heater's burner was not functioning correctly... the burner which was "recalled" was expressed mailed to us immediately. I recently called Bill to repair a ruptured water main. He came over and verified the situation and returned immediately after the excavation was completed to repair the leak. This was early on a Sunday morning no less. The piping material used required a special technique to repair which Bill was clearly familiar, and he affected a perfect repair that I am confident will last indefinitely. I had hired Absolute Plumbing for a minor leak repair under the kitchen sink at my house. While work was done properly, I was overcharged a lot for the job. 1. I was charged $47 for a small valve and two small pipes. I checked the price at the Home Depot and the cost for all three was under $20 total. 2. On top of charging me more for the parts I was charged for the time he had to make a trip to the store to buy the parts. When I called him I had described the problem and what needed to be replaced. I expect a plumber to have basic parts like this with him. He could have also told me to buy the parts before his visit as well. But instead of bringing the parts with him, he first came to my place and then went to buy the parts. However, he never told me that he will charge me for his time to buy the parts as well. He simply said I will come back with the parts and then at the end just presented me with the cost that included cost for his trip to the hardware store. Bottom line, for those $20 parts I was charged $107. The total job that required one hour of labor costed me $227, not reasonable for the work by any measure. I had expected better from a service with 5 start rating on Yelp. read more
