A absolutely wonderful man named Mike set up an appointment with me and came out and inspected my meter which passed with flying colors. He was very friendly and informative. Real nice guy and the cost of his service was very fair. We always use this company as Michael is great! We had a problem with our kitchen sink in Dec. Called Michael and he tried to advise us on what we could check to see if it would help. He also gave us the name of another plumber in our area that we might want to try. (This was because he was having some medical issues at the time and knew he would not be able to come out to our home to help us.) When he was back to making home visits, he called us to see if we still needed his services. Although my husband had been able to get the cold water back on in the kitchen, the faucet was still leaking even though he had replaced parts inside. Michael was able to come out the next week and repair the faucet for us. It's been working fine ever since. Michael takes the time to assess the situation and give you all the options available to repair or replace whatever is needed to fix the situation. Probably the most important thing about a plumber is that they are responsive and able to fit you in quickly. The second most is that they don't have them come back. It's the second time I needed a plumber for my rental, and I called Mike as he was great the last time I used him. This was also a great experience. He was busy as he just came back from a vacation, but he offered to talk directly with my tenants to schedule a time. The shower was not shutting off completely so I think I needed a new valve. Thanks to Dimond Plumbing we now have WONDERFUL water pressure in our shower...after 13 years of very low pressure. Michael came to replace our floor furnace's unregulated pilot with a regulated pilot which PG&E's recommended we do. He was courteous over the phone and was able to schedule a consultation quickly. After he inspected the furnace, he took the time to walk me through all the work that needed to be done and even drew me a diagram of how my floor furnace is setup. Michael was able to schedule the work to be done soon after the consultation. His priority was to make our floor furnace safe. He tested to make sure everything was working before he left. Michael was able to get the work done at a competitive price. He let me know upfront that there was an inspection cost but that it would count toward the final amount. Our water had been turned off by the guys installing our fridge and...it didn't get turned back on by them! So, after exhausting our options we called Dimond Plumbing ON A SATURDAY AT 8 AM. That's pretty horrible, but we all needed to use the toilet and we needed water...badly. Hadn't showered in a day, no toilet working for day 1/2 etc... Doesn't help that someone took a FAT SH*T in the toilet! Imagine that foul foul foul smell... by Saturday it became THREE FAT SH*Ts by the eating machine known as my little brother... Let's not get started on the horrible horrible fights following said sh*ts........ Mike was here 10 minutes from the call and was super nice and didn't even charge us anything for his laborous attempt at getting our water back on. Turns out that even using the right tools he couldn't get it on because it was frozen, a part of it broken already AND there was cement on it. He made an appointment for us with EBMUD's emergency line. I was left thinking, did this really nice down to earth man just not charge us anything after helping us even being injured (which he was at the time)??? No way. YES WAY. They have my 5 stars. Once upon a time a refrigerator needed replacing... and like any other family struggling during this time of economic depression, we could not afford a fancy new one with a ice and water dispenser like the old one. So we got a second hand fridge to hold us over, but we quickly realized that the line to our old fridge needed to be plugged up so it would stop spewing water. So we turned off the water to the house because we had no stop valve. Late last night we agreed to work on it later and started calling plumbers first thing in the morning. Plumbers, like most skilled tradesmen are defined either by stereotypes of their competitors & colleagues, or by the excellence of their individuality in service. Mike at Dimond Plumbing is absolutely in the second category. A true professional with over 30 years of experience, he remains tapped into the fact that customers are people too. I met Mike today on a Saturday when he was nice enough to come over and help me solve the problem we were having with the leaky refrigerator water line. He shook my hand, came in, and politely solved the problem in under two minutes. Honestly I would have been working on it for at least a few more hours, so to me it was very impressive to watch Mike carry on a casual conversation while replacing some valve parts and tightening everything up. He let me know the best way to run a new line in the future and was kind enough to give me some spare parts. He even helped us turn the water back on. The price was less than any competitor we got a hold of and well worth every penny. I will definitely be Calling Mike again when I need any other plumbing help and I would suggest you do the same. The guy (forgot his name) gave me the price for replacing my toilet, and quickly called back when he realized that he misquoted (only by $24, it was $384 total), I really appreciate that he was upfront about the cost. When I told him over the phone that I wouldn't be home for the job and that my parents don't speak much English, he offered to send somebody out who spoke Spanish or Thai (neither one would've helped, haha), that was appreciated as well. Dimond came out on a weekend three years ago and installed a new water heater, their prices were competitive and even below those folks who advertise "emergency" replacement. Then on Friday the water heater pilot light went from a gust of air from a vacumn cleaner.
