The technician came to see our water heater which had issue with the pilot staying lit. He said "oh you need to replace the heater". I said It's 5 year old heater and it can easily be repaired. They didn't want repair but instead w aged to rip me off by replacing my 5 year old water heater so they couldn't make more money. Not very honest people. Take your business elsewhere. FYI - another company came and quoted a very reasonable charge to replace the thermo coupler which barely took 30 mins. read more

Great affordable service! I have been using JC Green for about 10 years now and I have no complaints. Jesus and his team are hardworking and quick! I very recently had my sewer lateral replaced from his team and they were quick in action from dealing with the permits, digging, replacement, the whole sha-bang. It's not always easy dealing with plumbers as I find a lot of them kind of grumpy and looking to get out ASAP or milk the time (since most bill on an hourly rate), this whole team is the complete opposite and easy and friendly to deal with. And they had a Saturday appointment for us, so we didn't have to take time off work- always a plus! Since the service provider had to go under the house, there was a fee. Great experience with this company! We had incredibly old plumbing in the house we purchased, and we'd spent a ton of money paying for commercial grade snaking. We consulted several companies in San Leandro and Oakland, and ended up going with JC Green. The front office was incredibly helpful and friendly, and the technicians who came for the quote and for the service were super professional. The job was done in one day, and they replaced the entire upper sewer lateral, and placed two new cleanouts. I'm sure this was no small job for them, as the piping from our bathroom to the street stretches across the entirety of our property. They did most of this job without digging, and only had to knock out and replace a small portion of our concrete driveway. The job was just under $7000. We are incredibly happy. It's been about 5 months since this job was done, and we haven't had a single issue. Before, we could only go about 30 days without having the pipes cleaned out professionally. I've used JC Green plumbing for multiple jobs now. In particular, Alex has come for at least 4 jobs and has always been kind, professional, and honest. The other plumbers were equally excellent as well as the customer service rep (sorry, can't recall her name!). I have used other plumbers previously and they were NOT always honest. That is key. I believe the charges for my various projects (repair to a broken pipe, clearing out clogged pipes, replacement of my shower system, and most recently full pipe replacement) have been quite fair. We recently discovered a backup in the sewer line, and I remembered the great experience we had several years ago with JC Green Plumbing when we needed our water heater replaced. This time was no different--they were quick to respond, communicative, efficient, honest, and reasonably priced. I needed some help with a leak in my backyard water line: options either caping off a line or replacing a buried line in my backyard. I liked how responsive they were and quick to offer a free estimate through Yelp. The plumber Alex was friendly and knowledgeable on site. However I was a bit disappointed with the cost, paid $350 for 5 minutes of work cutting & capping off a simple copper pipe. I agreed to the work but I have regrets seeing how simple it was. In 2019, we decided to change our entire pipe from the house to the street. Not only did JC green plumbing had the best price, but they also did an incredible job. Recently we changed our toilets and started to have trouble again. My home appliance insurance covers plumbing. They sent 2 x plumbers without succes. I called JC plumbing again, and they came the same day to honor their warranty. We got the happy news that the pipe is 100% intact. It was a possible tool that the workers dropped in the line. They also cut the price in half for us just because this was unexpected and they had to bring huge equipment to flush out our line. Also, from being prior customer. Bathroom shower faucet was leaking and I called for a technician. They had an opening in the afternoon and I got a text reminder prior to the arrival. The techinican arrived on time, was knowledgeable and knew exactly what needed to be fixed. He was very honest about the costs and I opted to have him get the parts for me as well. Since it was the afternoon he didn't have enough time to finish the work on the day. Luckily he had an opening the next morning for repair. The next morning he showed up right on time again, and fixed my faucet in no time! It did cost me a few hundred dollars (labor and parts) for a shower faucet cartridge replacement, but I feel it is worth every penny for the punctuality, the experience and the professionalism. After my toilet base started leaking, we decided we needed a professional. I reached out to JC Green Plumbing and scheduled an appointment. The company called me a day early and offered a time slot they had opened due to a cancellation and I had a technician at my home within an hour. Not only was this accommodation fast, but I really liked being given the option to have the problem assessed and fixed a day sooner than anticipated! The technician Francisco arrived early, professional and explained all the steps and his assessment of the leak. Fortunately it was just a wax ring installation and I opted for a new toilet to be replaced since we are new homeowners and wanted to switch the toilet anyways. He cleaned the surface, showed us his assessment and installed the new toilet in no time! We were thrilled to have the problem fixed and no more water seeping on our tile floor. They also offered to haul away our old toilet which was convenient for us and we paid the $50 fee. I got a quote/estimate for shower feeder pipe reconfiguration and a new drain connection very promptly. The work was arranged and done early the next week. The plumber and the owner were easy to talk to, and willing to negotiate. Also--and this is much appreciated--they were honest about what they were *not* able to do, which made it easy for me to break the job in two and get someone else to build the custom shower pan/base. The plumber came on time, worked three hours, and showed me photos of the completed work that he took in the crawl space.
