While on the boat, Greg was friendly and super fun! You are able to sit in the back by Greg, up in the front or down below deck. There's a bathroom, seating and a refrigerator for drinks below deck which was an added bonus. The music Greg was playing was great, but you can also play your own music via Bluetooth. This feels like a make your own adventure sailing trip because you can choose the amount of hours you need, the vibe of your music, how rowdy or calm you want to be, etc. We had an amazing time and we would absolutely do this again when we are back in town. It was my first time kayaking in costal waters but I felt very comfortable with our guide. She was very familiar with the waterways and educated on the local wildlife. The tour was amazing! We had perfect weather, calm water, and several site points. It was cool seeing the pluff mud marshes up close! Please note: COA is located off Folly Rd which happens to be a main road to Folly Beach. Thankfully I did the 9:00am slot, because there was bumper to bumper traffic along Folly Rd by the time the tour ended around 11:30pm.

We were a group of 10…read moregirls in town for a bachelorette weekend and Will & Cameron helped set the bar high for the first full-day of the trip. As the Maid of Honor, I was in charge of plans for the weekend and I wanted to start the trip with my own version of a bike tour around Folly. I called 2 days prior to our arrival because I didn't initially think we needed a formal reservation, but started to get nervous as we got closer to the trip. When I called, the guys told me it would be no problem and they would have 10 bikes ready for us at 11:00am that Friday. I wasn't sure what would happen when we arrived, so I held my breath and crossed my fingers all would work out. I was ecstatic when we arrived to see Will and Cameron already at the door waiting on us!! We were maybe 5 minutes or so after 11:00 (10 girls can be a lot to get out the door) but they both commented on us "being on time," so I felt much better. They got us setup and on our way very quickly. I even asked for some of their "expert opinions" on restaurant/bars we should stop throughout the day and they provided us with great recommendations. I think having the bikes on a Friday was perfect because we didn't run into too much traffic and it felt very safe everywhere we went. We were really sad to return the bikes at the end of the day. I thought we would only spend a few hours on them since Folly isn't that big, but we were having so much fun we stayed on them until the shop was closing. By the end of the weekend, I asked the girls what their favorite part of the trip was and the most common response was the bikes!! If I had to do it over, I would probably pay to rent bikes for the full weekend. It was the best way to get 10 girls around Folly Beach!

He offered us things to do or see or he gave us an option to anchor and go ashore. I loved all my options and he honestly would have been happy with whatever we wanted to do. After a bit of research, we ended up on Captain Jerry Slayton's boat for a two-hour sail. Captain Jerry (who is USCG licensed and ASA certified) provided a short safety orientation and invited us to roam the craft as we pleased. We had the absolutely best time! The Captain was not only a top-notch sailor, he was also a top-notch guy, personable and fun. His sailboat was beautiful, comfortable, and spotless. What a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours. It rained like crazy while we were out, which made for an even more exciting, interesting, and beautiful experience. The six of us highly recommend a sail with Captain Jerry. You will love it!

Will was very punctual at the meeting time and once we stepped on the boat we went immediately into action. Within 15 minutes we were catching fish! Will was extremely knowledgeable about the area and knew a lot of the history that other tour captains don't tell you. We went to several spots that all had fish almost exactly where Will said they would be. By the end of the trip we had caught 10 redfish and a few other species as well. We hope to make Tight Line Outfitters part of our annual tradition in Folly Beach. 10/10 would recommend.
