    Fried eggplant salad

This location used to be another Central Asian restaurant called Jannat, prior to which it was a Taco Bell. We went to Uyghur on a Sunday afternoon at 3:30 and it was packed. We barely found a parking spot and table. There is outdoor seating, but it was too windy. We ordered the eggplant salad, special lagman, and Manti. The eggplant salad was amazing. The pieces were nicely sized and fried to perfection, and the cheese was superb. The lagman was okay, but the noodles were kind of tough and rubbery. The mushrooms were interesting, though. The Manti (dumplings) were excellent; good amount of meat and the wrapper was cooked nicely without hard bits, and tasty sauce. Service and pricing were reasonable.

The food here is genuinely impressive -- both the Qorima Lagman and the Special Lagman were excellent, with perfectly made hand-pulled noodles and rich, well-balanced flavors. The Boorsak (fried dough bites) made for a fun and tasty starter, and overall the kitchen clearly knows what it's doing. No complaints on the food side at all. Unfortunately, the service didn't quite match the quality of the dishes. We waited around 15-20 minutes just to receive water, while a nearby table was attended to almost immediately. A brief acknowledgment or explanation would have made a difference. I also found the automatic gratuity a bit confusing. Our group consisted of just three people -- myself, my wife, and our 2-year-old -- yet a 15% service charge was added as if it were a large party. On top of that, we were prompted to leave an additional tip, which felt unnecessary given the included charge. Overall, the food is strong enough to stand out on its own, but the service experience and gratuity policy take away from what could otherwise be an excellent visit.

The ladies working here do not care about their job. One of the servers looks lost, didn't want to speak AT ALL with any of the customers entering the restaurant. Upon approaching a table and when serving food. She was annoyed when I asked her a question about the menu (the second server told me the menu isn't accurate). After waiting for my check, I had to walk to the register to find the two servers hiding playing with their phones! Horrible service, utensils are dirty, windows are dirty. Avoid!

Finally got to try this, and we were really pleased. Most dishes we asked for mild because we have littles--and they tasted great! We've had this style of cuisine before and elsewhere the mild was even too spicy. But this was really flavorful. Unfortunately, there was a dish we wanted with goat but they weren't making it with goat anymore, just beef or chicken. We didn't see it listed on the menu, but when I called to ask what other non-spicy dishes they have they said they have plov--this fragrant rice dish that you can order to be vegetarian or with a meat. This was so-so compared to the rest of what we ordered. The chicken big plate is a really generous portion and probably the best price value for a group. Not spicy, really flavorful. Chicken was tender. We essentially wanted to just drink the sauce it was so good. The little fried dough fritters were so, so good. It's kind of like a savory beignet and is great soaked in the sauces. The cucumber salad was really tasty and a nice light and bright mix up to the heavier stews. It's definitely pricier, but it's also halal and not a very common cuisine in the area. They were nice and super helpful over the phone when we placed our order, and everything was packed well and ready within the timeframe they said. All in all it was a really good experience and the flavors are so unique that it's definitely worth a try.

The food here is legit -- the Qorima Lagman and Special Lagman were both delicious, hand-pulled noodles done right. The Boorsak (fried dough bites) were a fun starter, and honestly everything we tried had real flavor. No complaints on the kitchen. But the service? That's where it fell apart. We waited almost 15-20 minutes just to get water, while the table right next to us got served immediately. No explanation, no acknowledgment. And the auto-gratuity for a "large group" -- it was me, my wife, and a 2-year-old. Three people. That 15% was added automatically, and then they had the nerve to ask for an additional tip on top of that. That's just not how it should work. The food deserves 5 stars. The service and the tip policy bring it down to 3.

I have to say, the halal beef and onion flavor reminded me of when I first had Uyghur food back when I was little at the Xinjiang Muslim street long long ago. The flavors are exactly as i remembered. It's not easy to get used to at first cuz it's very... "cow" like but once you acquired the taste, it's super delicious. Definitely a pretty meat heavy place, but all the flavors are really good. Also the first time I had chalap, although I have had savory milk teas before, this reminded me of that. Definitely an acquired taste also. Overall, what a nice find in the Chicago suburbs!

    Uyghur Manta

First time trying Uyghur food and it was delicious. The place is very clean and spacious. Servers were so nice. Started with the special tea, it was amazing! I asked if they sold the dry tea blend, unfortunately they do not. Ordered chicken stir fry, home style Lagman noodles, and manta. Everything was excellent. Highly recommend

Had a wonderful lunch here today, first time eating at Uyghur Lagman House, and I'll be back. Food was delicious and service was prompt and friendly.

And, dare I say, better version. Except for their avgolemeno soup. Such a weak travesty. Please fix this. It's just a watery mess. However, everything else is delicious. I ordered the Greek Chicken with their lemon-butter rice. They debone the chicken and serve atop a mountain of their rice. If also had their potatoes (which are good) but the rice is magical. The first time we went, they had a serve yourself soda fountain and they since got rid of it and sell soda in bottles and cans. They do still have a self-serve water station. Once you order, staff will bring to your table, so please tip when you order or leave on the table as they do come by and clear your table as well. The portions are huge so you're definitely going to bring something home. Nostimo is now in our rotation of places to go in a pinch and they do have an outdoor seating area, too.

Since there was a total of 11 and the seating is first come first serve, we decided to call to see if they had reservations. They did take our name and reserved a table. When we arrived we noticed a table was reserved and we were informed that it was our table. We sat and looked over the menus. When we were ready my 2 boys and I went up to place our order. My one son has major allergies so we spoke to the chef and he came back out to recommend the dishes he can have. It was great that he did so and gave us confidence that my son would be able to eat without worrying too much about the ingredients. I ordered the Shrimp Kalamakia with a side of the Greek Rice. My son with the allergies ordered the Pork Kalamakia with Greek Rice and no pita, my other son ordered the Traditional Pork Gyro with Greek Rice. The sides we ordered: Saganaki Fritters and Spanakopitakia. My son that ordered the Pork Kalamakia devoured it. He said it was tender and juicy and probably could have eaten 4 skewers. My Shrimp Kalamakia was nicely charred and seasoned, I squeezed some lemon and it provided a nice tang over the seasoning. The Lemon rice pilaf was soft and cook just right and was nicely balanced. I had one Saganaki Ball and it was delicious. My son had the Pork Gyros said it was really good and the Tzatziki sauce was creamy and rich with flavors. My in-laws bought the table desserts and I got the Baklava and my wife got Loukoumades (Greek Donuts with Nutella) and both did not disappoint. I really loved the citrus honey syrup in the Baklava. The Loukoumades had a crispy shell and nice a fluffy on the inside and the Nutella amount was perfect. This place is very good and well worth the price in my opinion. I loved the fact that they took the time to make sure my son with allergies was safe.

While I understand that this is a small run shop I will say that standing in line and waiting on a Saturday morning really is discouraging. The food however, a super delicious and came out very timely. So absolutely no complaints for me and they also have a water station set up so you can help yourself to water which is fantastic. After sitting around for about an hour to an hour and a half this place got super packed with families's children and strollers which made it even harder to move around. The ambience is fantastic so definitely worth it for your social media. I would come back here again, however I'm not really someone to order alcohol here at this time but for breakfast I think it's great.
