Caesar salad, caesar slider + onion rings
    Yaa A.

I went for lunch with a friend. I had the caesar salad and onion rings, and my friend had the caesar chicken slider with fries. The food was pretty good, nothing extraordinary but good enough. Customer service was good.

Cookies with milk - firm favourite among the group!

Didn't know there was an absurd bird in soho! It was a great night and the food was amazing! Wait till you see my pictures! Downstairs is cosy and i would definitely recommend making a booking if you're coming by. The bartender is great, so are the waiter and waitresses. Loads of banter going around and always up for a chat, which is always nice! On to the food..so I was waiting for artichoke dip to appear and YES IT DID! Oh my lord, the rave about absurd bird artichoke dip is real and legit! Can I say..I really did want to ask if i can pack it home, but was rather shy about it. People, this is a must to order when you're at absurd bird! Next on, the wings - hmmm, I really like the spicy wings! Oh and the garlic mayo wings (i think?), so so good. Although I kind of felt like we did kill a lot of chickens that night, the sacrifice made by the chicken(s) was definitely worth it. I know a lot of people in the group really like the dirty buns but hands down my favourite were the wings and artichoke dip with fried tortilla chips! Absurd bird, please keep this going, you guys are great! ;)

After being in Paris for two days and experiencing horrible food a trip to London and stopping at Absurd bird was awesome. The food was great and our waitress had such a good personality (Iliyana). It's your average southern fried chicken place with warm and cozy vibes and good food. Make sure you order the Hill Billy iced Tea if you're in need of a good cocktail with a good amount of alcohol. Be careful it sneaks up on you. After all it has moonshine in it. We ordered the biscuits, mac and cheese, buttermilk wings, and sweet potato bake. The chicken could've used more seasoning but was still very good. The sides were a hit! Definitely recommend this place and the waitress!

Stopped here for chicken and waffles for lunch and it was good. I may be a little spoiled by roscoes chicken and waffles in California but it satisfied our craving. I ordered the regular chicken and waffles that came with their absurd sauce (gravy) and syrup. He ordered the peanut butter and jelly chicken and waffles. We ordered a side of Mac n cheese that we shared and it was just okay.

The menu is very tempting and the food is genuinely quite good, however, this place is tired and worn. Needs an update, that maybe on the cards anyway as the building is being renovated. Steps to get downstairs are quite slippy, the kitchen is upstairs and open. The staff are less than attentive we'd finished our meal and they came to ask if we wanted more drinks, it may be that we were their last clients of the evening, but they missed out on an extra drinks round by leaving it too late. Had to ask for ketchup for chips and a refill of water. Nice chicken; great sweet potato chips; poor burger/sandwich buns; onion rings were really crunchy, some though tough as nails. I wouldn't rush back there.

I love chicken, but rarely get chicken sandwiches because I find white meat lacking. Chick N' Sours…read moreis perfect, because they give you a perfectly fried chicken thigh! I wasn't feeling very spicy, so I got The General, which is the most non-spicy sandwich option - so good and the chicken flavor took center stage. There are plenty of other options for those looking for more of a kick. It's a cute little hole-in-the-wall space with a few tables outside, and more seating downstairs. Very friendly staff.

We came here because this restaurant got five stars in TimeOut, and it seemed different and cool…read more We were not disappointed. I was not familiar with sour drinks, except maybe a whiskey sour or an amaretto sour, but they had all different types of sour drinks, bourbon, tequila, and gin based. I had a gin-based drink that was raspberry flavored and very sour and yummy. My friend had a chocolate cherry bourbon-based one that was quite good, and my sister had a tequila spicy sour. However, the chicken is the star here. I ordered fried chicken that came with pickled watermelon, it was delicious perfectly cooked and seasoned properly. The pickled watermelon was a lovely balance and a nice surprise. My sister and my friend got chicken tenders. I think we missed the mark because the chicken sandwiches seem to be the thing to order here. As we saw them coming out, we were disappointed that we had not ordered the sandwiches, which are piled a mile high and come in all different interesting combinations. They have a kimchi chicken sandwich, a Korean style chicken sandwich etc. If we go back, I would definitely order one of those. This place is not touristy. It was filled with locals at dinner time, and it was quite a scene, but not a pretentious one. The service was friendly, and the and the restaurant is reasonably priced.

Short Review: Ruuuuuuuuuuuuuunnn!! No, seriously. Run!…read more Long Review: Ok, so let's say hypothetically you are really hungry after a night of drinking with co-workers, and the bowl of chips you shared just wasn't enough. And also, let's just say hypothetically that in the past you've snuck out to get that midnight meal you know you shouldn't have, but you've got to put something in your stomach or you'll starve all night. And let's also imagine that on your way home, you spot a Chicken Cottage and think to yourself, "Self, it ain't Popeye's or KFC, but it looks really good, so go on and just try it"... and so you do. So in this hypothetical story, you get a leg and a thigh - cause who can screw that up - and you go on your merry way home to eat it. You get home, you get a towel (not a napkin) to ensure you don't get any drippy grease on your clothes or the furniture (because you know the best fried chicken is always greasy) and take a much anticipated big ass bite into the thigh. And then after 3 chews you realize its the most tasteless, disgusting, nasty chicken in the world! WELL THIS IS NO HYPOTHETICAL STORY!!! The struggle was REAL, people! The moral of this story: either starve or just find the damn Popeye's or KFC! Life is too short to eat there again!

I'm sorry but what? WHAT? I know my dirty chicken and you ain't no KFC. You charge me £2.89…read more.. £2.89 for a dry ass, bog standard chicken burger that costs me £1.50 in Chalk Farm. No hash brown, no relish, what the hell is this. Oh sorry what? Oh I am paying an extra £1.39 for the pleasure, nay the honour of standing in zone 1. You people are crazy. The burger tasted alright, simply alright, not outstanding, not lip-smackingly good. There was nothing inherently wrong with the burger and this is the only reason your crazy ass prized self doesn't get one star.
