On their website it states that cakes are two layers but this was only a one layer cake. I am so embarrassed to present this cake to my guests. Cake was extremely dry and tasteless as if you were eating stale bread. Last time I had ordered a cake it was very expensive and very dry/stale as well. I thought to give them another chance but unfortunately they disappointed once again. This will be my last time ever purchasing from the danish bakers.

We went there this morning to pick up a raisin challah - we were making French Toast! The challah is excellent - rich, soft and sweet, it has a tender, delicious taste. The raisins added an extra touch of sweetness to the French Toast. Then there are the numerous pastries and cookies. We decided to get a few Hamentashen (chocolate and poppy), a raspberry croissant, a chocolate and a raspberry rugelach, and the most amazing looking Sticky Bun. I'll start with the Sticky Bun. It was exceptional; a soft, fluffy, and slightly chewy dough - challah like, but denser. It was laced with a sticky, caramelized glaze, studded with raisins and walnuts. It was 'melt in your mouth delicious', and a must try. Next up - the raspberry croissant. This is not your typical croissant - I'm used to the plain, or chocolate - I can't recall having a raspberry croissant before. It's one of the best I've had. It combines a flaky buttery croissant with a sweet, tart raspberry filling. The Hamentashen were good - the chocolate was better than the poppyseed - as the later needed much more Mohn (poppyseed paste). The rugelach was good; the raspberry was too sticky, but the chocolate was fine. If you're near Elkins Park, and you haven't tried Rolings Bakery, it's time you did!

However, one of the items I purchased, I was rung up for $17. I know it is a small difference but if you're going to have an item that is going to be a different cost, you need to advertise that to your customers. It's pretty shady and just leaves a bad taste.

Typically, I never really liked the lighter texture, as I've had all different kinds. My favorite is a plain cheesecake with a sour cream frosting. However, the taste of this cheesecake was superb - it was rich and flavorful - not too sweet. The deliciousness of the cheesecake compensated for its lighter texture. Apparently they weren't listening to him because they gave him the stalest pound cake. The cake crumbles when you put your fork in it. The icing is gross (very salty) and has a stale taste to it. I guess the mistake is on our part for going there. Won't make that mistake again. I'm gonna stick to FGT's from now on.
