Additional $2.00 and $1.00 dollar charges even though you're paying for AYCE.
    Raul R.

I presented here last night for dinner and enjoyed my meal for the most part. However, the ordering system has changed from a simple sheet of paper and pencil to a tablet you use yourself. I was a little disappointed with the electronic vs. paper approach, and my orders kept coming out differently in appearance than what the menu featured. In my opinion, part of the dining experience is being catered to, which includes having a server come to take your order--not taking the order yourself. Additionally, I paid slightly over $110 for two all-you-can-eat meals. This price was driven up by an extra $11 charge per person, which included the restaurant's premium and sashimi options. However, even after paying the additional $11 per person, not every item on the menu was included. There were still a few items that required an additional charge. I would have thought that if I'm paying over $50 per person, I would have access to the entire menu. A few final thoughts that left me a little disappointed this time around compared to prior visits: 1. You're only allowed 90 minutes for your visit. This includes the time it takes to bring out each round of food. 2. After you place your order, you're temporarily locked out from ordering additional items. So, be sure you get everything you want with each round of food. 3. Be prepared to pay additional fees for premium and sashimi options, and keep in mind that the upgrade still doesn't include desserts or certain other menu items. 4. If you leave the screen stagnant for too long without adding additional items or placing your order, the tablet will erase your entire selection, and you'll have to start all over again. I would have left a 5 star review prior to this visit, and I really think the food here is phenomenal. It's just the change in the ordering system, the timed dining experience, and the archaic tablet left me with a poorer taste in my mouth. Lastly, I might add that all the staff did a great job in bringing out our orders & clearing the table promptly.

As always, the experience here was good. If you come during dinner time, you may experience a bit of a wait since the waitlist can get pretty long. I did notice that they now have an option to join the waitlist ahead of time instead of having to waitlist in person, which might be more convenient and even cut down the wait time. We always get the Sashimi Premium AYCE, and they still have the iPad/tablet ordering system. There were a few times when some of our orders were missed, but if that happens, you can always call a server over to help, especially if it's a premium item. The sashimi was delicious--nice and thick-cut, fresh-tasting, and had a good chew to it. Our favorite cuts were definitely the belly cuts, as it is a little fattier. I also noticed that they seem to rotate through some of their appetizers and rolls, as the appetizer section has changed compared to the last few times I've been here. It was nice to see some different options this time around. Overall, it's still been a consistently good spot for AYCE sushi and sashimi, and I've continued coming back since my first visit.

Great AYCE sushi spot with fresh sashimi included!!! (We picked the AYCE dinner + sashimi deal) The sashimi was fresh, and there was a nice variety of premium sushi, skewers, tempura, mussels, and soft-shell crab. We ended the meal with fried Oreos and ice cream, which was the perfect sweet treat. Definitely a great value for the quality and selection. Would come back for sure! IG: socalhkfoodies

One of my favorite AYCE sushi spots! There is a great selection of dishes even doing the non-sashimi and I would heavily recommend maxing out your premium sushi dishes like the salmon belly and yellowtail belly. Their ratio of fish to rice was really good, however, there were some rounds where the rice seemed undercooked so it didn't bind together well. Some non-premium dishes that were good were the shishito peppers, seared salmon nigiri, and crispy rice spicy salmon. Service was somewhat busy on the weekends so I would definitely order your dishes 15-20 min beforehand to keep a good pace.

I usually love AYCE sushi, but our dining experience at Aburi Sushi in Buena Park was an absolute disaster. We were seated outside on the patio, and the service was incredibly bizarre and frustrating. The servers were super quiet, and we constantly kept getting the incorrect orders brought out to us, and lots of missing orders. When we brought this up, one server mentioned that the staff is supposed to be telling us the names of the dishes as they place them at our table--but not a single server actually did this. To make matters worse, one girl serving us sounded completely high and spoke so softly we couldn't hear a word she said, while another male server angrily grabbed the patio door and flung it open right next to us. Worst of all, the hygiene here is a major concern. We found hair on our sushi rolls. Between the completely checked-out, aggressive service and the hair in our food, this was a terrible experience. Save your money and go somewhere else in Buena Park.

I got AYE dinner and found their table order tablet easy to order except the salmon collar was $1 extra but since the way it's categorized I didn't realize even though it's labeled $1. It's fried to a crisp on one side. Too crispy for me But everything is was amazing. Food came promptly except miso soup was delayed due to batch making. Inside it's modern and light wood color. Playing 90's and early 2000 music Would come again

Brought my whole family here to celebrate my son's birthday. Everyone love the food and the service was excellent! This place is crowded even on a weekday and we were seated right away . Place is still clean and food served hot and fresh. My family would like to come back again soon!!

My family and I have been going to Aburi sushi for more than a year now every time we craved sushi. We love their small portion size which allowed us to try more varieties before getting full. We also really love their carpaccio and limited order premium sushi. However, we noticed their nigiris were more filled with rice now and the staff doesn't seem as welcoming as before. The waiting time for appetizer also took a lot longer than usual to come out. Furthermore, while we can not pinpoint exactly if Aburi was the reason, but my mom and my sister did end up getting really painful stomachache two hours after eating sushi here up until the next morning. Overall, we still enjoy Aburi but we are more hesitant going just based on the fact that some of us got sick after eating here.

Great price around the area with quality food. I got the $34.99 ayce dinner/weekend deal for my sister and I, there's also a premium $39.99 sashimi ayce price. Came like 10-15 minutes before they opened at 11:30am incase the wait got bad and we were first but the line grew quick closer to opening time. I would recommend going right when they open and placing your order on the table tablets ASAP because after like 30-40 minutes of the restaurant opening, their kitchen was backed up and it took a lot longer to get our food. I love that there's a special section for no-rice options for people trying to cut carbs. There's plenty options to choose from! Overall would come back when it opens or a weird off time. Parking is ample in a quiet shopping center.

I wanted to like this place because of all the positive reviews, but I just couldn't. Food wise, everything tasted great. Even the servers were very friendly. The thing that really bothered us though was how long it took for our food to come out. We did about 2 rounds of AYCE and we didn't even order a lot, but in total it took us 2 hours to be finished. Not because we eat slow (each roll only had 4 sushi in there), but it just took forever for them to bring it out. They didn't even bring us all that we ordered. Each round we had an order missing. I didn't even bother telling them because I was afraid it was going to take another 15-20 min for it to come out. This was our second time trying this place after 3 years and I don't think we'll be coming back again. There's other ayce places around the area.

thats not real sweet shrimp, no head. but the belly pieces are good, very small and rice is hard and cold af

AYCE premium needs to be for everyone at the table and you can just have 1 or some get it and some do regular menu because they use the same tablet. tablet is a bit janky tbh its not user friendly. pros: sashimi pieces were good texture food comes out fast some of the rolls are good(salmon crunch) ramen was good flavor belly pieces were good but really tiny cons: small premium pieces, 1 piece of tiny sushi per person uni really stank, we didnt eat it because it smelled rancid so we had to send it back sweet shrimp is not real ema ebi and no fried head rice is cold and hard some apetizers were undercooked and raw siu mai sucks, weird flavor overall i wouldnt come back. the bill for 2 was 100$ and i felt it wasnt worth it since the premium pieces were not great, too small, rice cold and hard plus the uni(sea urchin) was not edible whatsoever. we were here Friday afternoon and the uni bas already gone bad. was told the entire batch is the same so either no one is ordering it or they just arent getting fresh shipments. place was empty around 2pm. the undercooked apetizers also left a bad taste in my mouth. if you just eat rolls then i think the regular 35$ for ayce is okay but if you want actual premium sushi, dont come here and spend the 46$. not worth it.

Trying out a new all you can eat sushi bar because it had some good reviews and a lot of options, including no rice options and an upgraded ayce sashimi for $11 more. The service was 50/50. Some of the pop working were super helpful and friendly and others, it felt like when they brought you food they practically tossed it on the table or didn't ask if you needed anything else. I'm not sure if it's because everything is ordered from a machine table side. I did appreciate the waiter going over the menu and the limitations on certain items. The appetizers on the menu that I tried were a miss. I had the shumai dumplings and they were horrible. They did not taste like shumai and were mushy. The chicken thigh yakitori was nicely grilled and the sauce had great flavor, but it was greasy. The garlic shrimp was good but it was a total catfish because they looked nothing like the menu I really enjoyed the carpaccio options they had but without the upgraded ayce you're limited to two orders of two pieces only. The fish was fresh and I loved the sauces and garnish they added to the overall flavor. The salmon belly and yellowtail belly nigiri were amazing and I loved that they don't give you a huge chunk of rice with it. I was able to taste the fish. I had a variety of their no rice rolls but in my opinion, a lot of them are one dimensional. I didn't care much for the crab mixture they use in their rolls. It was too sweet and was lacking texture. Even the veggie roll was a let down. It was far from a veggie roll with crunchy fresh veggies, instead it had a glop of avacado, soggy cucumber, and a single soggy piece of asparagus. The ambiance is chill. They have music playing in the background and it's a vibe. There's table, booth, bar, and outdoor seating. They can definitely accommodate a large crowd but I would call ahead to ensure you don't have a crazy wait. This place got pretty crowded as the night went on. Overall, it was an ok experience and I don't think I'd consider eating here again because it took over 10min to get the check and over 20min to get the last roll requested. I ended up requesting a manager because we confirmed the last order was in but it never came! We could walk out and not pay, that's how disconnected they are.

Haven't been here in a while, but because it was nearby and my friend and I were really craving sushi we went here. We came at the end of the night and were one of the last parties to be seated. The hostess was very sweet communicating with us to let us know about the wait times. The servers checked in on us regularly and were also very nice as well. Although the service was good, $50 for ayce (including the additional charge for sashimi) is honestly so expensive. Esp given the quality of the fish we were served. The cuts were uneven and some still cold with an icy texture, which ig makes sense since it was the end of the night. The carpaccios cuts were also thick and I wish there was more sauce that came with them. I remember a few years back I used to love their carpaccios but now they are so underwhelming. The cut rolls were just okay, and a lot of appetizers weren't available anymore bc it was the end of the night which is understandable. I wish aburi had continued to live up to my prior expectations :( I feel like it's not as great as it used to be.

Aburi Sushi Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Aburi Sushi

Can I sign up for the 100 piece sushi challenge?

From what I gathered when we inquired about it. There is a waiting list. A long one in fact

Does the restaurant allow single diners?

    They do.

Do they have seared peppered salmon?

Yes, our seared salmon has lemon pepper seasoning.

Would you say this place is better than X-Fish Izakaya (Buena Park) Which one is more worth?

As someone who has been to both, i have to say Aburi is SO MUCH better!!! No competition. Right now for the month of december it's 30$ for AYCE. Can't beat that! Also X fish has awful service sadly and if your server is laggy at X fish, you won't be…

    Do they accept cash?

    Yes

How's the quality AYCE Sashimi here compare to the HB AYCE Sushi? Is this restaurant good for group or 12 to 14 people?

It's about the same quality. Service is probably faster here. You will do great w a group that big. Tbh I haven't been back to HB ayce since coming here. I do miss the birthday music tho

Do they take reservations if I call ahead?

No we do not, it is first come first serve!

Plan to go with friends and I would like to have $9.99 option for AYCE Sashimi and Carpaccio. Is it requried everyone to add the $9.99 option?

Yes, everyone that is seated with you has too

Hi Can I ask that if I eat ayce when I order any round how many pieces sushi and sashimi can I order ?…

If you get the extra 9.99 option for AYCE Sashimi and Carpaccio, you can order unlimited amount of any sushi, carpaccio and sashimi. Just make sure to finish everything as we charge for leftovers!

Is every person that sits down at a table charged for all you can eat? My bf is joining me but he doesn't like fish and isn't going to eat but I want to enjoy the all you can eat but I don't want both of us to be charged. Does anyone know the policy?

Every one that sits does not have to get ayce, I just went a couple months ago.

How do you do the 100-piece challenge? The booking link on Instagram claims there's no openings at all.

We are unfortunately booked out for the entire year! We will open 2025 openings later on in the year. Thank you!

How many people can participate in the 100 piece challenge?

    1 or 2

Can i just walk in and do the 100 piece challenge or do i have to do the booking on their instagram link?

Booking the 100 piece challenge is initiated through the restaurant. There is a few weeks wait because of the challenge popularity...

Is AYCE available when you open at 11am or until 2pm?

I believe it's available all day! Enjoy!

How much is the 100 piece challenge with a friend of you fail?

    100

Hello! Are prices different for kids?

I'll be honest with you, I went with my 10 month old baby so my bill was only for 2 adults which was $39.99

Can one order AYCE sashimi independent of AYCE sushi? Can you order AYCE sashimi only with a couple rolls, for example? at the $9.99 price per person, or is it more?

In order to do AYCE Sashimi, you have to have the 39.99 AYCE and do the 10 dollar add on for a total of 49.99 for the AYCE sushi with the AYCE sashimi add on

Does anyone know the restaurant's number? I had a question on whether or not, when dining with two or more people, is there an option to have AYCE and a la carte ordering together for the same table/party?

Hello, our number is 714-828-1260. Yes, you guys can do a-la-carte and ayce at the same table. If the table chooses AYCE, everyone must choose the same option of AYCE (Everyone must get Regular AYCE or everyone must get AYCE Sashimi). Thank you!

This place is marked as having outdoor seating. Is the patio still available for seating?

Hi, we have our patio open on fri-sun! patios are closed on weekdays due to limited number of staff. Thank you!

What is current weekday lunch price? Many of same questions are asked in 2021.

    $32.99 until 4pm
