Back in Anaheim for an event and my sons wanted to eat before we drove back so I looked for nearby Japanese restaurant on our way back and this came up. It's by Knott's berry farm, we came after 3pm so it wasn't crowded. They have a special where you get half off sushi when you order the bento. I liked their presentation of the salmon, it was my son's meal, me and my younger son already ate somewhere else so we just ordered these items. For the quality of the food, it was a good price and despite not being busy I would say that the servers were attentive and acknowledged us as soon as we got in. read more

I was in the mood for sushi and was looking for a good deal. I came across Sushi Mura! It's located a block or two from knots berry farm. Parking could be a little tight. It's actually a pretty small restaurant maybe 20 booths/tables. I got the $15.99 deal for lunch. You have an option for either salad or soup. Then you have to choose an appetizer and 1 roll. I got: Miso soup App: jalapeño poppers 2 pieces stuffed jalepeno with spicy tuna and cream cheese. This always hits the spot for me ! Sushi roll: Sunkissed Roll: A spicy tuna roll with salmon on top. Another classic. A bit spicy but so good. The waitress was nice and offered me an eel sauce to balance out the spice. Dang it was thick! Shoutout to my waitress. My wife and I having a wonderful time at the Knotts Hotel and having fun at Knott's Berry Farm. We're looking to try different restaurants around Knotts Berry Farm and surrounding areas. We decided to come to Sushi Mura just a block away from Knott's Berry Farm,this is our first time at Sushi Mura. The restaurant is very nice with a modern decoration that's a nice new look that's bring that people in to the restaurant. First our avocado roll and the veggies tempura brought to our table. I got on of avocado roll taste it amazing the avocado was very creamy then I got another one I little bit of soy sauce and wasabi it make the roll the level I perfer in flavor in each bite. Veggies tempura our favorite appetizers I enjoy fried veggies with side of dipping sauce. First I really enjoy they were cook nice golden brown but wasn't greasy I should order another one I didn't. They brought our Tonkotsu it look so good I add the bamboo shoots I order to my Tonkotsu and my wife added her egg in her Tonkotsu. First I tasted the broth very it was good but I didn't get the full flavor of the pork broth but the chashu brought the broth in harmony in the Tonkotsu. Chased was very good it was very tender and the fat brought flavor to the dish. We came from Knotts for a quick lunch, and this place was fantastic. The service was very quick and efficient, and we got our food within minutes of ordering. My friends thought their rolls and ramen were very good and my chicken cutlet was very filling and perfectly crisp. I absolutely love the different specials they offer as they're such great deals with a perfect amount of food. My favorite one is a soup or salad, an appetizer, and any roll for $14.95! The sushi was actually really good, which makes this even more disappointing. My fiancée and I have been here twice, and both visits felt the same. These young staff came across as cold and unwelcoming. No smiles whatsoever. I am not expecting Michelin star service, but basic friendliness goes a long way. When we asked questions or spoke to the staff, we were often met with silent head nods instead of a response, which made the experience feel awkward and uncomfortable. Maybe I am old fashioned, but if I am paying for a meal, I at least want to feel welcomed. Tuna roll and salmon skin roll weren't very remarkable, but their other rolls, like their eel roll and hand rolls knocked it out of the park. The main point of feedback I have is that the seaweed wrap for the rolls and hand rolls were extremely thick. While great to maintain the structure of the rolls themselves, I found them difficult to chew through, especially for the hand rolls. Everything tasted fresh and well put together, and it felt like this is what they do best. The ramen on the other hand was pretty lackluster. The #3 ramen in America? I gotta try this. The interior is super clean and modern. We checked in with the host and were seated immediately. I ordered the tonkotsu broth ramen and a cut roll. We ordered a miso ramen at a reasonable price, and got a 50% off deal for all sushi, so we ordered a Philadelphia roll and cucumber skin roll and we were very happy, until we noticed the sushi quality. Our first time here and oh my god this place is amazing! Had three sushi rolls, three sashimi pieces, ramen and their delicious tempura ice cream and everything was delicious! 1000% recommend. Came here for dinner the other night and was pleasantly surprised what a great gem this Japanese restaurant is right here in Buena Park nearby Knotts Berry Farm. We were greeted and seated right as we walked in on a Wednesday night they were pretty busy which means this place is pretty good. We ordered spicy tonkotsu ramen, miso ramen and Jessica albacore and another roll. Let me just say the broth on both were nicely cooked and flavored not too salty or fatty. The Jessica albacore was divine tasted so fresh and melted right into your mouth with each bite. I was highly impressed with the polite and prompt services here as well. Came here yesterday to try the ramen, since the restaurant boasts being top 3 ramen in the US. I will say that I was a little nervous upon entering, since there were almost customers at 11:30 on a Sunday, but glad to report that the ramen is quite good. We ordered a black ramen, a spicy tonkatsu, and a Jessica roll. They have a deal where, if you buy a ramen or udon, you get a specialty roll at half off. The sushi was very mediocre; the ginger was extremely dry; it's not bad for the half-off price, but I wouldn't pay full price for the sushi. The ramen however, was really good. The spicy tonkatsu had the perfect amount of spice, the black ramen had an umami flavor that didn't overpower the ramen. The eggs were cooked perfectly, just a little solid yolk, but still runny enough. I have to say, walking into an empty restaurant, where they advertised a new mozzarella stick appetizer, I was extremely skeptical. I was afraid that it would not be an authentic experience, but I have to say, the ramen was really good! While the ramen was good, the service was a little lacking. Even though there were only 2 other customers, no one checked in on us during the meal. Server was nowhere near us, and so we did run out of water, with no refill. to be seen. I visited Sushi Mura for lunch with my dad and my brother, who both raved about the food and the affordable pricing. I feel like it's been especially difficult to find affordable meals these days, so I was very happy to have found Sushi Mura. They have a lot of lunch special discounts, and they definitely don't skimp out on the food. I shared a combo with my dad; he ordered the salmon teriyaki entree and I took the specialty roll that was half-off. Even as a combo both were reasonably sized portions. It was quiet when we arrived around 5:30 but got busy & packed as the evening progressed. I ordered the tamago (egg) & shrimp tempura roll. Flavors were good and I appreciated they did not pack them with just rice mostly. My sister-in-law ordered the scallops handroll & rainbow roll & enjoyed both. We finished everthing we ordered - it usually can't finish the rolls as there's too much rice & it fills me up. I didn't have to leave excess rice on the plate as they had a good balance of rice to the rest of the ingredients. Came here twice for their lunch specials. There are two options: first buy an entree and add an appetizer for $1, second buy an entree and add a specialty roll for half price. This far we've sampled four ramens, and my preference in order is Tonkotsu, Black, Spicy Tonkotsu, and Habanero Miso. The tonkotsu base is solid, very creamy broth, tender chashu that pulls apart and has a nice grill on it. I am a purist and I like the standard tonkotsu. Adding black garlic oil is a lateral transition to me, the broth seems less creamy but now the aroma from the garlic oil is distinct. We were cautioned about the spice levels and the Spicy Tonkotsu is indeed packing some heat, just at my spice tolerance limit. The Habanero Miso ramen is beyond that, I could only tolerate two spoons, it's very spicy. The miso broth itself is good, nice and smooth, and I predict I'd like the normal Miso Ramen (though I'd get the tonkotsu over it). For the ramen the portion sizes are appropriate, a nice soft boiled egg, sufficient noodles, and three pieces of chashu. If I finish the broth then one ramen fills me up all the way. For the rolls I do like each one tried. The Crunch Dragon Roll has lots of flakes on top to create a crunch sensation, good flavor and high quality fish. The Super Dragon Roll was very similar, being a little bit taller from additional spicy tuna and therefore just a little bit harder to fit into my mouth. The AngryTail roll was very refreshing. Description includes spicy tuna, jalapeno, and yellowtail, but I was tasting a light citrus (yuzu i think) that was more dominant than the spice. It struck me more like a calm and cooling roll, would get again. The Dynamite Roll looks tasty, and is admittedly heavier than the other options. We ate it all on both first and second visits. Lastly, there is a birthday promotion to get the Matcha Tempura ice cream. I was wondering how it's done, but I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was. Matcha ice cream was battered and fried, done quickly so a very thin layer of melted ice cream between tempura shell and the still-frozen ice cream inside. Good quality matcha ice cream, maybe more sweet than an Asian palate would want but still enjoyable to a Western palate. read more
