Food was amazing! There was a small stone pot (just like Japan!) to cook our beef katsu. Ordered the premium beef. I actually liked that the slices were thinner. I ate till the fire was out. With $3 more I chose for the meat to come with a set: cabbage, miso soup, radish and rice. They tasted very well together. Ordered via n iPad. Parking was a bit hard but got a spot at the back alley next to the side wall. Service was quick and friendly. Nice little store and clean. Will come again!

3.5/5 My friends and I got there around opening and got seated immediately. They have iPads for you to order on and we got the Beef Gyukatsu (3/5 two different cuts - one being more thick; both were alright), Cream Curry Udon (3/5 idk why I thought the cream top was the sauce but it was instead actually cream LOL I'm glad there was a spiciness kick to it and meat was tender but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it), Premium Gyukatsu (4/5 meat was tender), and Pork Cutlet. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to get this but glad I could reminisce about Japan.

I am glad i do not have to travel to Japan or parts unknown to try out this self grill experience that has been on my list. My party and i started with some fried zucchinis to start off our meal. I didn't want to go extensively into the menu , so i tried what people would typically order , the beef gyukatsu The portions are perfect for a quick lunch meal, i wished i could have it every other week but red meat in moderation. As i cooked on the grill in front of me , i started to enjoy the compactness of the makeshift grill and started to load the mini grill with the goodies. The side dishes are a good break in-between to balance the crunchy meaty taste. I did appreciate how the venue had remnants of its former business A star is lost for the somewhat the forced gratuity when checking out. When the server brought the check they kind of indicated to me to press the 18%. As a paying customer , am i not in my right how much tip is to be offered ? Shall i remind the establishment of the tipping culture of Japan ?

We happened to be in this area and I wanted my son to try a Gyukatsu. I ordered him the beef Gyukatsu and I had the cold soba dish. The soba was filling and the noodles are really good. My son liked the interactive dining experience of cooking the meat in a small hot stone grill. I had a few slices of beef and it was tender but you really need to dip it in the sauces. The set is a complete meal. Service was fast and it wasn't crowded when we went thought it was on a Saturday but we came in around 2pm.

I came here earlier in the evening with my boyfriend since we've been craving gyu katsu for so long since we went to Japan. We came the last hour of closing and there was still a couple of tables eating inside still. We were greeted upon arrival and we didn't need them to tell us how to order as the only thing on the table was the ordering tablet (self-explanatory). We ended up ordering the premium gyu katsu set along with the curry pork cutlet set that comes with rice and sides along with some beer. The drinks and food came out fairly quick and were steaming hot. I like that the curry came on the side so the pork cutlet wouldn't get soggy and you could pour over as much as you want over the cutlets. The veggie sides were a nice touch and complemented the meal well. The gyu katsu didn't taste like Japan to us, but it was still good especially with the wasabi and sweet soy sauce that came with it. If I came back here, I would give the beef tongue a try along with the creamy udon because those also seemed like a favorite for customers. Service here was friendly and we were checked up on multiple times without having to flag someone down.

Service: we came around 6pm Sunday dinner! Not busy the time we came. There was a guy wearing glasses and a girl. Both were very nice! They were welcoming as well. 10/10 rating! Food: I ordered the beef gyugatsu. When you order (on the tablet) it will give you a choice if you want the full set or just the meat only. Of course I had to try the full set. It came with 2 sauces, salad, edamame, radish, rice, and a bowl of miso soup. It was delicious! Meat also came with a little grill for u to cook on and wasabi on the side. My partner ordered the curry pork cutlet. Pork cutlet was a tad bit dry, nothing crazy but the sauces that came with it made it better! It also came with miso soup, salad, radish, edamame, and a bowl of rice. Since my partner ordered the curry cutlet, ofc it came with a bowl of curry and katsu sauce on the side. Both meals were delicious! 8/10 rating for food! Ambiance: cute, clean, nice and small! You order on the tablet. They close around 830pm keep in mind! Overall I will come back to try their other food items on the menu!

The bar was very high as we visited Kobe Gyukatsu after having been to Tokyo and having the very trendy Gyukatsu Motomura. I was pleasantly surprised to find a dupe of the meal we had in Japan! It was like 70% similar to what we had in Japan. I liked that it came with a lighter ponzu sauce, but wish there was more wasabi. The breading for whatever reason was sticking a lot to the hot plate, which caused burnt panko to accumulate over the course of the meal. The broth was great. The cabbage salad with ginger dressing was identical to the one in Tokyo as well! The meat was very tender already, so I preferred the plain meat compared to kalbi marinated ones. It was a hearty meal, so I would come back for just this alone. The cream udon was just ok, the cream dissolves pretty quickly in the heat of the curry. The curry is very standard Japanese curry, which plenty of veggies. I would say skip this. The service was very fast and we were the first table to be seated upon opening, so we didn't have to wait. I am glad we went out of our way to try Kobe Gyukatsu since it scratched an itch that we've had since our trip!

I went here for dinner with my friends a few weeks ago. The food here was great, probably like an 8.5/10 in taste for me. The experience itself adds to the food. I got cheese gyukatsu when I went. I think portion wise it was excellent because I did not have to stuff myself but I felt satisfied and good after finishing my food.

[Food] Takeout - Curry Pork Cutlet ($20.95): Comes with rice, salad & dressing, miso soup, curry, side of edamame and spicy pickled radish. There were two portions of pork cutlet which were nicely battered and crispy. Happy that they also included tonkatsu sauce! Curry was hearty and delicious! [Service] - Fast, friendly, helpful [Overall] - I ordered over the phone for pickup and felt so bad that I was 20 mins late past their lunch closing time. I made sure to let them know that I'd be late and if that'd be ok and thankfully they waited for me! - Love at how big the portion is and definitely coming back!

Rice Pot with Japanese style Chicken

Came with a large party of 8 so got to try a few things off their menu. Their beef Gyukatsu and curry were good. The chicken katsu was a little on the dry side, but the panko crust was nice and crispy. Also ordered the Japanese chicken rice pot and that was delicious for something a little different. Service was excellent and super friendly. They found out it was my son's birthday so proactively gave him a birthday dessert without us mentioning anything. We had a wonderful lunch here!

The Beef Gyukatsu is delicious. The quality is fantastic and the salad, miso soup and everything thing else that comes with this dish pairs very well. The service was great along with the cleanliness of the restaurant and restroom. I would definitely recommend visiting during lunch hour just make sure to call ahead.

Came on a weekday and it wasn't too busy! They have parking in the back with friendly service and an ipad to order everything from. We ordered 2 sets of the beef gyukatsu ($27) -- super yummy and enjoyable grilling experience despite portions being tiny.

We came here before I think 2 or 3years ago but never did a review. We enjoyed it the first time and we definitely enjoyed it this time again. Portions are big and service is good. We order on a tablet now which is convenient. There's quite a few tables.

I did notice that they now have an option to join the waitlist ahead of time instead of having to waitlist in person, which might be more convenient and even cut down the wait time. We always get the Sashimi Premium AYCE, and they still have the iPad/tablet ordering system. There were a few times when some of our orders were missed, but if that happens, you can always call a server over to help, especially if it's a premium item. The sashimi was delicious--nice and thick-cut, fresh-tasting, and had a good chew to it. Our favorite cuts were definitely the belly cuts, as it is a little fattier. I also noticed that they seem to rotate through some of their appetizers and rolls, as the appetizer section has changed compared to the last few times I've been here. It was nice to see some different options this time around. Overall, it's still been a consistently good spot for AYCE sushi and sashimi, and I've continued coming back since my first visit.

It is something you need to try if you have yet to do so. The katsu meal itself ($17.95) with the combo (+$7 which includes either kimchi udon, or soba, Tuna roll) iis big on it's own. Also, the shaved cabbage salad is a great compliment to the meal. I'll be back with the family to check out the other offerings here. One downside, the space is tight, so strollers and wheelchairs won't be a comfy fit. However, there were littles here around 7 pm for dinner. All in all, is highly recommend Yoko Donkatsu.

At first I thought it was a fast food style, order at the counter and wait for your order to be ready, but it was actually a casual sit down restaurant. When I arrived around 12:30 p.m. on a Saturday, the restaurant was relatively clean and completely empty. The tables looked fairly new and had a simple, utilitarian style. I walked up to the counter and asked how the promotion worked. The owner pointed out the rolls on the menu and asked whether I was dining in or ordering to go. After telling her I was dining in, I looked over the menu. Since I don't eat much rice, I was immediately drawn to the three no-rice rolls, which were $16 each. The specialty rolls also looked good and were priced between $16 and $19. I asked to order three of the no-rice rolls using the promotion. That's when the owner told me those rolls were not included. The sign outside says "any two rolls," yet apparently there are exclusions that aren't disclosed. Since the no-rice rolls are in the same price range as the specialty rolls, I asked why they were excluded. The owner didn't offer any explanation--she simply said no, then walked away from the register and back into the kitchen. I found that interaction disrespectful and a clear indication that they weren't interested in earning my business. Customer service matters, and this experience left a very negative impression. I recommend choosing one of the many other restaurants in the area that value friendly, transparent service. Advertising a promotion as applying to "any" rolls while excluding certain items without clearly stating that feels misleading.
