    Cheese gyukatsu

I went here for dinner with my friends a few weeks ago. The food here was great, probably like an 8.5/10 in taste for me. The experience itself adds to the food. I got cheese gyukatsu when I went. I think portion wise it was excellent because I did not have to stuff myself but I felt satisfied and good after finishing my food.

Service: we came around 6pm Sunday dinner! Not busy the time we came. There was a guy wearing glasses and a girl. Both were very nice! They were welcoming as well. 10/10 rating! Food: I ordered the beef gyugatsu. When you order (on the tablet) it will give you a choice if you want the full set or just the meat only. Of course I had to try the full set. It came with 2 sauces, salad, edamame, radish, rice, and a bowl of miso soup. It was delicious! Meat also came with a little grill for u to cook on and wasabi on the side. My partner ordered the curry pork cutlet. Pork cutlet was a tad bit dry, nothing crazy but the sauces that came with it made it better! It also came with miso soup, salad, radish, edamame, and a bowl of rice. Since my partner ordered the curry cutlet, ofc it came with a bowl of curry and katsu sauce on the side. Both meals were delicious! 8/10 rating for food! Ambiance: cute, clean, nice and small! You order on the tablet. They close around 830pm keep in mind! Overall I will come back to try their other food items on the menu!

I came here earlier in the evening with my boyfriend since we've been craving gyu katsu for so long since we went to Japan. We came the last hour of closing and there was still a couple of tables eating inside still. We were greeted upon arrival and we didn't need them to tell us how to order as the only thing on the table was the ordering tablet (self-explanatory). We ended up ordering the premium gyu katsu set along with the curry pork cutlet set that comes with rice and sides along with some beer. The drinks and food came out fairly quick and were steaming hot. I like that the curry came on the side so the pork cutlet wouldn't get soggy and you could pour over as much as you want over the cutlets. The veggie sides were a nice touch and complemented the meal well. The gyu katsu didn't taste like Japan to us, but it was still good especially with the wasabi and sweet soy sauce that came with it. If I came back here, I would give the beef tongue a try along with the creamy udon because those also seemed like a favorite for customers. Service here was friendly and we were checked up on multiple times without having to flag someone down.

My first time trying this location! The inside was clean and held lots of tables. When we arrived around 5:30 on a Friday, it was empty. You order through their tablet that is fixated on the table. We got the cheaper order of the gyukatsu, cream carbonara udon, soba, and tempura plate. The meat in the gyukatsu is super tender and is a fun activity to sear before eating. From personal experience, I think the cheaper gyukatsu option is sufficient as the quality increase to the more expensive cut is not worth the extra cost. The meat pairs really well with their wasabi and sauces. I enjoy eating the soba, especially on a hot day because they add ice cubes into their dipping sauce. The soba, though, were sticking together and we had a difficult time pulling them apart to dip and eat. The cream carbonara udon came super hot (which is good), however, we felt that the flavor was lackluster. The tempura plate was def the star of the show. For about $18?, you get a whole variety of tempura (onion, sweet potato, shrimp, broccoli, pumpkin) and 4-5 pieces of each. The breading was phenomenal and crispy. I think the tempura is the best bang for your buck.

Came on a weekday and it wasn't too busy! They have parking in the back with friendly service and an ipad to order everything from. We ordered 2 sets of the beef gyukatsu ($27) -- super yummy and enjoyable grilling experience despite portions being tiny.

The bar was very high as we visited Kobe Gyukatsu after having been to Tokyo and having the very trendy Gyukatsu Motomura. I was pleasantly surprised to find a dupe of the meal we had in Japan! It was like 70% similar to what we had in Japan. I liked that it came with a lighter ponzu sauce, but wish there was more wasabi. The breading for whatever reason was sticking a lot to the hot plate, which caused burnt panko to accumulate over the course of the meal. The broth was great. The cabbage salad with ginger dressing was identical to the one in Tokyo as well! The meat was very tender already, so I preferred the plain meat compared to kalbi marinated ones. It was a hearty meal, so I would come back for just this alone. The cream udon was just ok, the cream dissolves pretty quickly in the heat of the curry. The curry is very standard Japanese curry, which plenty of veggies. I would say skip this. The service was very fast and we were the first table to be seated upon opening, so we didn't have to wait. I am glad we went out of our way to try Kobe Gyukatsu since it scratched an itch that we've had since our trip!

Came with a large party of 8 so got to try a few things off their menu. Their beef Gyukatsu and curry were good. The chicken katsu was a little on the dry side, but the panko crust was nice and crispy. Also ordered the Japanese chicken rice pot and that was delicious for something a little different. Service was excellent and super friendly. They found out it was my son's birthday so proactively gave him a birthday dessert without us mentioning anything. We had a wonderful lunch here!

[Food] Takeout - Curry Pork Cutlet ($20.95): Comes with rice, salad & dressing, miso soup, curry, side of edamame and spicy pickled radish. There were two portions of pork cutlet which were nicely battered and crispy. Happy that they also included tonkatsu sauce! Curry was hearty and delicious! [Service] - Fast, friendly, helpful [Overall] - I ordered over the phone for pickup and felt so bad that I was 20 mins late past their lunch closing time. I made sure to let them know that I'd be late and if that'd be ok and thankfully they waited for me! - Love at how big the portion is and definitely coming back!

The Beef Gyukatsu is delicious. The quality is fantastic and the salad, miso soup and everything thing else that comes with this dish pairs very well. The service was great along with the cleanliness of the restaurant and restroom. I would definitely recommend visiting during lunch hour just make sure to call ahead.

We came here before I think 2 or 3years ago but never did a review. We enjoyed it the first time and we definitely enjoyed it this time again. Portions are big and service is good. We order on a tablet now which is convenient. There's quite a few tables.

    Cream Curry Udon
    Lisa Y.

Came for the Cream Curry Udon but stayed for the Beef Gyukatsu. We made a reservation for a Friday night and were seated right away. You order on the tablet at your table, and someone will bring the food out to you when it's ready. I really wanted to try their Cream Curry Udon that has a Japanese curry broth with udon, topped with potato cream. The curry has meat and some vegetables cooked in. The broth itself wasn't as thick as I thought it would be, but when you mix in the potato cream it thickens up a little. It was not bad; I would say try it at least once! We also got the Beef Gyukatsu, which is a Japanese-style beef cutlet. The outside is breaded, and they bring an individual stone grill to your table so that you can cook the beef cutlet on it. If you order the Beef Gyukatsu as a set, it's also served with rice, miso soup, cabbage salad, side dishes, and housemade gyukatsu sauce. The meat cooks relatively quickly on the grill, so make sure you're watching it so you don't overcook it! Overall, very tasty and fun to eat!

The food here was so filling and satisfying. My husband and I came here for date night everything was great. You order through the tablet and all of our meals basically came out at the same time. The meat was soft and delicious. We loved the sides and thought everything meshed well together. The sauce on the lettuce is sooo good, I don't even eat veggies like that but I wanted to steal my husband's dish! Haha. The drink was dangerously delicious and compliments the meat. I highly recommend getting it with any meat dish. The mazemen was hearty as well with the noodles giving the perfect amount of bite. I look forward to trying their creamy udon next time (gave up potatoes for lent!)

Love this place! I live close to one in Rowland heights but was glad that on a day I was in Buena Park and hungry that I was able to find one here as well! One of the better katsu places over many others! My usual is the Spicy Pork Cutlet! Service was fast, food was great, and the place was alright, but this is a good solid place to go to overall!
