I met with the owner Mathew McGuire, who I found to be friendly, sincere, and someone who is vested in his business, his people, and working to ensure that he wins life-long customers with every job. I had done a lot of research with AI, so I knew my options well (that research was very helpful and I'd highly recommend doing it in advance of having people out to give you pricing). I had no intention of beating up each of the companies, I simply asked for their best pricing and options. I used AI to carefully review each bid in detail, including the proposed equipment and how appropriate it was for our home. All companies gave solid bids, but there was a very large spread between the highest and lowest. That usually concerns me, but all my research about American Energy indicated that they were a solid, competitive company. It was a big investment, but I ended up converting to an electric heat pump and also getting all our ducting replaced. We have a 2750 sf single-story home with 17 vents, so the new ducting was nearly as much as the system itself. That said, the ducting has made so much difference in terms of balancing the temperature throughout the house, which was a real probelm with the old system. The new system is extremely quiet and maintains a consistent temp throughout the day--and we've had some extremely hot days since it's been installed. American Energy's installers were all very friendly and professional, and did a great jobs with prep and clean-up each day they were here (the initial install took two days). There were a couple minor issues after the install was complete which required two follow-up appointments. One was a equipment issue that required Carrier to provide a replacement part, but Carrier was responsive and quickly provided it. For the additional follow-up appointments, their scheduling person as professional, courteous, and accommodating. In fact, she went out of her way over a weekend to re-schedule an appointment that was supposed to happen on a Monday morning. To me the company has to be a good one to A.) get that kind of diligence out of employees, and B.) to keep those kind of employees. In the end, I'm extremely happy with the system and will gladly subscribe for their annual maintenance contract.

We paid a $100 inspection fee and were told we needed a new indoor fan motor. We were quoted almost $1,565 for the repair, and they didn't have the part available but said they could order it. Before agreeing to the repair, I decided to get a second opinion--and I'm very glad I did. Frost Energy Solutions came out and diagnosed the same issue. Josh replaced the same motor for $775 TOTAL, including the inspection, and even topped off our Freon. That's nearly an $800 difference for the exact same repair. I understand companies have different pricing and overhead, but I felt the original quote was extremely high, especially after finding another reputable company willing to do the same job for almost half the price. I would definitely recommend Frost Energy Solutions and Josh. He was professional, honest, fair, and transparent about the repair and pricing. In this economy, that kind of integrity means a lot! Do yourself a favor and get a second opinion before paying a high HVAC repair quote. We're very thankful we did!

Thankfully, they were able to come out the next day! Jason was our service technician. He was prompt and polite. He quickly found the problem and got to work making the necessary repairs. He was knowledgeable and explained everything to us. Within an hour our unit was up and running again! We will definitely be using Good Guys whenever we need any heating and air repairs.

I requested their service on Aug 4 2026, to repair a tenant's air conditioning unit at an upstairs…read morecondo in Rosemont Sacramento. they did not make it out til August 7, then after arrival, the tech was unprepared. he was 6'3" 275 lbs and complained about not being able to access the attic, did nothing, and left. saying something about the dispatcher would eventually set something up the upcoming week with a smaller guy and a ladder. meanwhile Sacramento was in the middle of a 10 straight day 100+ degree heat wave. the tenant had two children under 4 years old in the condo, and had withheld rent because of the situation and also reported the landlord to code enforcement... desperate times called for desperate measures. we called another company based out of elk Grove, one hour heating and air, They completed a diagnosis Sunday, and had the AC back on Monday evening. fast forward to August 25. I'm now getting calls from the office at good guys (they're not very good) demanding payment for a diagnostic I wasn't even fully aware of, nor present for. that apparently happened Monday morning. and a repair quote that mentions parts being unavailable and taking 5-30 days to come from the East Coast. with a recommendation we replace the whole a/c. they're ramping up the threats for a $100 diagnosis, threatening to place a lein on the condominium. they failed me when I needed them the most. I reserve the right to amend or delete this review, should we find a resolution to this. but needless to say I cannot reccomend their service at this point.

In the last 10 or so years in the area I've called RHA, one other place because they could get me to faster - had a bad experience, waited for RHA had an amazing experience, and decided they're going to be my ride-or-die for HVAC. I called them at 7am and by 11:30am their tech had fixed and tested everything and off to help someone else. Yesterday was the start of a heat wave and ... our AC unit quit on us. I called RHA as soon as they opened this morning at 7am, asked for Joe in particular, and they gave me a window between 10am and 12pm. Joe texted ahead of time at 10:30, diagnosed the blown capacitor, swapped it out, cleaned things up a bit, tested the coolant, answered a bunch of questions, and was on his way in just under an hour. The diagnostic was $129 and the capacitor was $186 today. By a complete and total coincidence, I had been running some experiments with home temperature sensors for the last week. You can literally see on these pictures exactly when the AC unit stopped working - and when RHA saved our bacon. The "other" place I called years ago only had a $79 diagnostic charge, but wanted to rip out and replace the entire HVAC system - and claimed we were taking our lives in our own hands by not getting it fixed with him immediately. Joe and RHA took care of everything for the diagnostic. Yeah, you can probably find someplace to charge you less for the diagnostic or maybe less for the part, but when your house is boiling hot / freezing cold, you want to be able to call on someone you can trust to help you out - and not take you for a ride.

He was very polite and got to work right away. Turned out to be a bad capacitor. Frank had everything we needed in his truck and was able to swap it out in no time. They were quick to take my money and install it but failed to install it correctly by finishing it with a final inspection with the city as agreed on our receipt. Its been 5 years that I've attempted to reach out to RPM and all I get is "we are to busy continue waiting". This is not ok! They even mentioned installing a light in attic due to new regulations and they have yet to come back.

They've worked on my 2017 Ford Transit Connect, 2014 Mercedes GL63, and 2014 BMW X5. They replaced a driver-side CV axle, did oil changes, replaced brake pads and rotors, diagnosed and fixed an A/C and heater blower issue, repaired a trunk/liftgate problem, and also replaced a valve cover and gasket and battery. What stood out to me most was how knowledgeable, honest, and fair Samson and his team were throughout the process. The staff are friendly, the front desk is welcoming, and the customer service has been great. It's hard to find a shop that does quality work at reasonable prices, but 916 Auto Repair has done that for me. Definitely recommended.

My AC Drier was cracked and inoperable since last year. In this region of the Sacramento Valley and Placer County, 916 Auto quote beat 5 shops I contacted in the region and 1 shop even told me it's not worth it and I should get a new car. Bet if my car was a 69 Camaro, they'd do it. Why? Cause its a Classic Camaro. No matter the condition. Some shops don't want to work on Imports. But oh well. Their loss, not mine. I contacted 916 Auto and spoke to Samson to schedule an appointment and he said to come by that very same day. And so I drove from Roseville to Gold River that morning. Samson is honest & to the point. When he pulled my car in, he noticed a coolant leak. Now I didn't notice any leaks in my driveway, as it would seem the Coolant is evaporating or dissipating, but he notice it was getting on my Alternator, by the stains. It turns out, my OEM water pump (factory part since 2003 for this model year in 2004) finally gave out at 262K miles. Who'd ever think a Mazda/Ford part would last this long. This was an unexpected thought as I only had budgeted for the quote. So I called my CFO (Wife) and let her know of the issue. She said get it fixed and she'll adjust other expenses as she knows I need AC for the upcoming summer temps. So I authorized Samson to proceed with the entire job. Now I can't couldn't do any price comparison, but he did give me a discount which still fit in my overall budget. I spent my whole day in their lobby. They have updated their lobby to make it feel more comfortable and less Auto Shop feel. I notice the many people who drop by to have their car service are all happy and are returning customers. From a Dealership oil drain plug that was torqued too tight, to oil changes, brakes, and even a customer who was a bit upset where the Dealership sent the wrong part twice. The Dealership. I spoke to many of them and they all had the same answer when I ask. "What made you come here?" They replied, "Their price can't be beat!". In summary, my AC is now working as it should. Now I only used my AC for 2 whole days It gets cold and it has been awhile since I have felt cold in my aging car of 22 years. With my new water pump installed as well, my car is running smoother overall. Smoother shifts, heater gets warm fast. Almost, now almost like it was in 2004. So, Did I find a new shop for my Project Commuter Car? Yes I sure did. They have gotten a new customer. Up next is my Transmission Gasket & plug. One thing at a time! Have fun out there & do your research!

Laura has been out several times to fix things on my HVAC system. I am happy to report that she is everything all the other 5-star raters mentioned. I also think she is unique in that she really listens to my amateur observations and diagnoses, and fully explains what is wrong that causes the problem. I like solving problems and understanding all about mechanical and electrical things, and she really seems to like that (not so with most folks I have had in to fix things). Plus, I really like supporting the small business person who works hard, knows her stuff and keeps a sunny disposition. I recommend her ALL THE TIME! read more

Had on going issues with our AC unit and through Fidelity National Home Warranty, this was the 5th…read morecompany that they sent out to us. We are extremely dissatisfied with home warranty and how they have handled this on going issue, especially during these heat waves and with a new infant and how they have sent out subpar companies to address the issue. This review is based on my interaction with Elaine and Bob. Elaine called me on July 5th and was able to get an appointment for today in the morning. She called and notified me that Bob will be out to my area in about 15 min. I greatly appreciated the heads up. He arrived as scheduled and we started by looking at the condenser unit. I turned on all the thermostats to 65, auto fan, hold mode as instructed. I explained what prior companies have/have not done and he did a quick check of the refrigerant/pressure reading. I was not sure what information home warranty had conveyed to them but he didn't need to check much. There was also concern of an issue with the liquid line filter drier but I forgot to mention it to him. I had mentioned icing on the outside pipes and a leak from the coil in the unit in the attic as how I initially found all these problems. Three companies have come out to recharge the system but the pressure reading was obviously still low. *One thing to note is that some companies may re-use old refrigerant to charge your line to cut costs but this is illegal and there's no real way to tell from the outside of the cannister* We then proceeded to the attic and he used a blacklight to highlight the dye/oily liquid that is commonly used to attempt to plug up the leak. Two different companies have come out to add this dye/oily liquid to attempt to the plug up the leak without success. He didn't need to check the actual coils because he was convinced there was a leak. I would have hoped he could have checked other components as I thought the reason for the service was to evaluate the entire unit. One thing to note is that were unable to give me a copy of the assessment that was given to Home Warranty, they said they were unable to give me a copy because they work for Home Warranty and not for me. Makes sense I guess but I do I find this to be a little odd in terms of business practices. I would assume a copy of the assessment is like a receipt even though the charge was $0. Everything that I have learned about installing and troubleshooting HVAC systems over the past month I was able to fact check with Bob directly or indirectly. I believe he is an upstanding individual. Having said that, I already knew that he could not do much with our system and I had no expectations of him repairing it but I think a more thorough inspection could have been done as opposed to being focused on what I told him. Common error that happens is "satisfaction of search". Happens to the best of us.

This is who I chose and the reasons are VERY obvious. Why? Well, it was easy. They were the ONLY one who did not try and up-sale me to system(s) that I didn't need for the rooms I was adding the units to and for the system I had planned. THE ONLY ONE. Greg Mosburg came out to do the estimate and did a great job explaining what we needed and designed a system exactly to what we NEEDED and not to what her could sell us. You don't get that much these days. They were also very easy to schedule with and coordinate dates with my complicated schedule. We were adding a Sunroom which had multiple scheduling and delay problems and Mosburg Hearing & Air was right there to make it happen to fit our needs as that air conditioning head needed to be installed well after the others. Tiffany was great to work with on the scheduling and billing side too. I really like working with a family owned, local company that I can trust. I have recommended Mosburg to many people who have visited our home since the system installation. And, when you go with a Mitsubishi Diamond Dealer, you know you're going to get someone who can do it right. YouTube has videos that shows it can be done it minutes. LOL! Yeah, right, go try that one on and see what happens. Bottom line? We are completely, 100% pleased with our system and it is running perfectly. It is a great addition to our home.

In temperatures over 100° he noticed that his unit was not kicking on correctly. Two companies came out and told him that he needed entirely new unit and furnace totaling over $30,000. I called statewide and Visily came out right away and walked through the system. He determined that there was nothing wrong with the unit and showed my father parts that would need to be replaced if it did go out and the cost of each part so that he was not taken advantage of by other companies. Visily was very honest And charged a minimal trip charge which saved my father thousands and thousands of dollars.

Belle Air Systems was recommended by a couple friends and they were quick to respond, professional, and able to come out the very next morning. Update August 22nd, 2023: Well I thought the AC unit had died but Nelson Air brought it back to…read morelife. For the first visit in early August, all they needed to do was manually spin the blower fan to get it unstuck. They didn't charge me for that service call. However, they told me that the fan bearings were going out and I would likely need a new fan soon. 20 minutes later the system stopped working so I called them again. They came out later that day, installed a new fan, and got the system working again. Several weeks later on a Saturday, my condenser (the unit outside) was on and air was going through the intake vent but no air was coming out of the vents in each room and the house was getting hotter. I climbed into the attic and noticed some ice on the refrigerant lines that run from the condenser unit to the AC/furnace in the attic. I called Nelson Air again and was advised that the evaporator coil (not sure if that's what it's called) was likely frozen and that if I turned the air conditioner off but left the fan on, the coil would unfreeze and the water would drain out. I turned off the air conditioner but left the fan on and sure enough, water started to stream out of the drain pipe near the condenser unit outside. I was also advised that my thermostat was old enough (1998) that it did not have a temperature swing or differential feature, which is essentially a ±1° degree buffer so that the system cycles on and off less often. They said that if your thermostat does not have this feature and you set the thermostat temperature low in the summer, your system will run too often and ice may form on the evaporator coil. They recommended that I replace the thermostat and said I could do it myself. I did manage to do it myself, but I had to call them to get some advice on connecting the common wire to the system in the attic. They provided that advice even though I called on a Saturday. System is working again. Can't recommend Nelson Air highly enough!
