Had on going issues with our AC unit and through Fidelity National Home Warranty, this was the 5th company that they sent out to us. We are extremely dissatisfied with home warranty and how they have handled this on going issue, especially during these heat waves and with a new infant and how they have sent out subpar companies to address the issue. This review is based on my interaction with Elaine and Bob. Elaine called me on July 5th and was able to get an appointment for today in the morning. She called and notified me that Bob will be out to my area in about 15 min. I greatly appreciated the heads up. He arrived as scheduled and we started by looking at the condenser unit. I turned on all the thermostats to 65, auto fan, hold mode as instructed. I explained what prior companies have/have not done and he did a quick check of the refrigerant/pressure reading. I was not sure what information home warranty had conveyed to them but he didn't need to check much. There was also concern of an issue with the liquid line filter drier but I forgot to mention it to him. I had mentioned icing on the outside pipes and a leak from the coil in the unit in the attic as how I initially found all these problems. Three companies have come out to recharge the system but the pressure reading was obviously still low. *One thing to note is that some companies may re-use old refrigerant to charge your line to cut costs but this is illegal and there's no real way to tell from the outside of the cannister* We then proceeded to the attic and he used a blacklight to highlight the dye/oily liquid that is commonly used to attempt to plug up the leak. Two different companies have come out to add this dye/oily liquid to attempt to the plug up the leak without success. He didn't need to check the actual coils because he was convinced there was a leak. I would have hoped he could have checked other components as I thought the reason for the service was to evaluate the entire unit. One thing to note is that were unable to give me a copy of the assessment that was given to Home Warranty, they said they were unable to give me a copy because they work for Home Warranty and not for me. Makes sense I guess but I do I find this to be a little odd in terms of business practices. I would assume a copy of the assessment is like a receipt even though the charge was $0. Everything that I have learned about installing and troubleshooting HVAC systems over the past month I was able to fact check with Bob directly or indirectly. I believe he is an upstanding individual. Having said that, I already knew that he could not do much with our system and I had no expectations of him repairing it but I think a more thorough inspection could have been done as opposed to being focused on what I told him. Common error that happens is "satisfaction of search". Happens to the best of us. read more

If I could give ZERO stars I would. Our A/C went out while we were out of town. We went through our Home Warranty, who sent this company. Initially, he seemed friendly until we received denial of further payment from the warranty company. When Bob came out, he checked the condenser unit outside and replaced the capacitor (which was covered under warranty). He only looked at our downstairs thermostat that we installed and was working for about 3 weeks (Nest thermostat). We installed 2 Nest Thermostats and our A/C was working up until Sunday, July 5th. He completely lied to the warranty company stating the A/C never worked after our Nest thermostat installation. Essentially voiding our home warranty for our AC system. He proceeded to blame the problem on our wiring and that we were the ones who broke the A/C while installing incompatible thermostats. We are obviously not HVAC experts, but still found his findings to be questionable since he NEVER went into the attic. He also proceeded to tell us, without looking, that we had a Beulter system, with a ztech board which we don't. Bob then had the nerve to send us the proposal (photo below) of over $2,700.00 to resolve everything, without a complete diagnosis. Needless to say, I would stay away from this company unless you want to be sold unnecessary equipment and overpay. Our AC is finally working as of today (7/9) after a simple and low cost replacement of a $20 transformer and $2 furnace fuse. read more

Hands down, this is the best ac repair/service company in the area. Bob the owner is down to earth, highly professional and a knowledgeable technician that provided our family with fast service and a thorough evaluation and repair of our ac system. Our ac crapped the bed about 2 months ago. We had a tech from another company come fand service the system, only for it to fail again 1 month later. Bob came out and fixed our ac unit correctly in about 1 hour and it's been pumping better than ever since then. You never want to have your AC go out during a heat wave, but that's what happened to us. Friday evening our air goes lukewarm out of the vents and we are stuck sleeping in a toasty house. The next few days are triple digit temperature days so I'm very worried about finding someone who can come out right away and solve our problem. 9am I called a few local options with no response before calling Diamond. To my delight, I got an answer right away that they could be out within the hour. I was given a 2 hour arrival window and Bob the owner showed up right on time. He was extremely friendly and polite while talking me through the steps to diagnose the problem. He found this issue right away and had the parts to fix the compressor on hand. We were up and running in less than an hour. He gave us all he tips to keep our system running well for the rest of the year and going forward. My expectations were met and then some! If you want fast, friendly and knowledgeable service of your AC then give Diamond a call. I will definitely be using them in the future when service and maintenance are needed. read more

We continue to be thankful that we chose Diamond Heating and Air as our HVAC company. Two years ago they replaced our old system and we were 100% happy with the work and 1000% happy with their customer service. This summer, after hearing random strange noises when the AC kicked on, I gave Diamond a call and they came out to troubleshoot. The technician spent almost 2 hours checking out the system and could not replicate the noise. He did notice that the return register near where I had been hearing the occasional noises appeared slightly loose. (It was so minor that I had never noticed it.) He tightened the register and put velcro on the filter to hold it in place, thinking that maybe the air movement when the system turned on might cause enough disturbance in the register to be making the noise. In the 24 hours since he was here, I haven't heard the noise again and think he may have solved the problem. It was not an obvious problem and it was attention to detail and thinking outside the box that found a solution. Since there was not an invoice with the paperwork the tech left, I called Elaine to find out how much we owed and was surprised when she said nothing; the noise problem was part of our warranty and that our first two maintenance checks were part of our contract. I had assumed that since 2 years had passed since installation, we would be responsible. I have so much respect for Bob and Elaine. They are customer oriented and don't consider a job done until it is done right. Their prices are fair and Diamond's commitment to excellence is unquestionable. We feel so lucky that we found them and will be lifelong clients. read more

It started with Elaine being extremely short on the phone and ended with Bob being the biggest jack wagon I have ever met. He wouldn't be allowed to do work on my Dog House let alone my A/C unit. Do yourself a favor and call another company as I am positive most of the 5 star reviews they have must be FAKE !!! Absolutely the best service imaginable. Elaine called me within a minute of my submitting the request for estimate. Despite being in a heatwave and calls backed up, Bob was able to come out later this morning, and here we sit with A/C restored! I don't want to set everyone's expectations about their turn around time, but in our case we were able to be visited right away (we have a new born baby and it's the worst possible time to have A/C die on us). BUYER BEWARE!!! The owners of this company are horrible! I wrote a review 3 years ago upon implementation of a new AC unit outlining the horrific working conditions and situation placed upon me during the 7 days it took this company to install the unit. Working with Bob and Elaine was beyond a nightmare and caused me and my family a great deal of stress and discomfort having them in my home. Elaine and Bob (owners) are both passive aggressive people who lack professionalism and human kindness. They had no problems leaving me voicemails swearing at me and accusing me of deplorable things (of which I still have a copies of those voicemails!) They should not own a business or anything else for that matter. Unfortunately, I need service and upon calling Diamond Heating and Air (who hold the warranty), they told me to basically "go fly a kite" due to all the issues they had with me (typical of passive aggressive people - never taking accountability), they refused to work with me or service my unit. For those in the same situation as myself, rest assured you don't have to deal with this company ever again!!! You can reach out to any authorized Lennox dealer and they can service your unit without voiding the warranty given by this company (that NO ONE SHOULD EVER USE - EVER!) Elaine sarcastically told me "good luck" prior to slamming the phone down in my ear and to that I say "thank you" because the company that will service my unit, sound lovely. read more

Just called these people to come out as an emergency call. Because they found mold in my a.c. last time they came out (and has since been resolved) they refuse to work on my ac ever again. Good to know this company is ok with leavung a family with a young child with no ac because they cant be bothered to work on a unit that once had mold. We try going with the smaller companies like this to help support them but I shoukd have figured after the last rime they came out and the owners gramdson was rude and was trying to charge me 100s of dollars for doing nothing but getting on my roof I should have figgured they would try and rip me off the next time or in this case just refuse business. Diamond Heating & Air provided fantastic service for me today. My AC went out so I called at 11:30am to see if they could come out and figure out what was wrong. I was told they had a technician available between 1-3pm which was great. I asked if he could come on the early side of the range due to my son's soccer game and they said they would definitely try. I received a call from Elaine at 12:45 letting me know my technician was on his way. Bob showed up at 1 and quickly diagnosed the issue. He quoted a fair price and fixed the problem part. After checking with several companies to repair our annoyingly load AC we went with Bob and Elaine. Let me just say my wife and I are more than impressed by their level of knowledge and professionalism. Our AC unit sounded like a jet engine down our hallway and Bob came out the same day I called and within 24 hours had 3 options for us to move the unit to the attic. Called for a tune up. A/C was working fine before the repaireman showed up. He had me turn the A/C thermostat on. I heard the unit outside come on. When I showed up at the A/C unit outside where the worker was working, the unit was off. He worked on the unit for several minutes and said he was unable to get the unit to work. He said it needed a new contactor. He replaced it and charged me $352. I called the company to ? the bill and they were very rude to me. Was working when he arrived then failed. They charged me $273 for a $25 part. read more

HORRIBLE. GO ELSEWHERE... We have done business with this company for 6 years, with no trouble in the past, but were appalled by the ownership reaction to a simple question we had regarding the lack of quality during a recent service call we had...in short, they rudely insulted us and said they would no longer do business with us. Here is the back story: Our system failed in the evening...we called them and they scheduled an appointment for the next morning. Their tech, who I understand to be the owner, arrived on time and climbed into the attic "to check the system". He swapped the outlet the system was plugged into, and then determined a circuit breaker had tripped. He flipped the switch and the system came back online...$114 bill, and he left after 20 minutes. Later that evening, the breaker trips again. We call the company to state the problem still exists...and says they cannot have someone out until 2:00p the next day..."to check the system". When we questioned the company about why the system wasn't checked for reason the circuit breaker tripping in the previous visit (we just paid $114 for them to come out again for another $114 to "check the system" they should have already checked?), we received a very unprofessional response from the ownership which included them notifying us that they would no longer do business with us. We called a competitor the next day, who within 5 minutes, found the melted wires that were causing the circuit breaker to trip...something that Diamond Heating and Air would have caught if they had truly done a "system check" on the first visit. read more

Wow, what a fantastic experience using Diamond Heating & Air today! Our home warranty company sent three different people out, three different times with three different diagnosis over the last week! We were hot, frustrated, confused and worried, to say the least. My husband and I spent the morning calling around to see if we could find a company to help us (outside of our warranty) and most were booked until the end of the month, or gave a price over the phone without having looked at our ac unit. Elaine, who was so kind over the phone, was able to send Bob out within a few hours of her and I speaking! I didn't get to meet Bob but my husband said he was so nice, cool and honest. He made the time to check everything, even looked at the Nest thermostat we had wired last year and determined that it was wired wrong causing the system to both heat and cool at the same time. He corrected the wiring then went outside where he showed my husband what was going while adding refrigerant to the system. My husband said he watched the numbers drop outside on Bobs machine as the house cooled. My husband told me afterwards that there were several times he thought any other company would have just said, "you need a new system" and call it quits, especially being that they were on the side of our house mid day with the sun beating down, but Bob stayed with it! Bob was able to get us cool air within a couple of hours, and added several pounds of refrigerant! Our ac unit may not have much life left, but Elaine and Bob bought us some time and when it is time to replace it, we know who to call! Bob mentioned to my husband that if we did the new system through them they would discount the amount we paid today for the new unit and even told my husband about rebate options he has used in Roseville! Long story short, if you have any HVAC issues, don't hesitate to call Diamond! You will get it straight as it should be; no gimmicks and no sales pitches from Bob, only quality service and what's needed to get the job done. I called Elaine after to tell her thank you, but once again ... on behalf of myself, my husband and our pets (who are happy as can be with the cool air now) THANK YOU!! read more

Our air-condition went out in the middle of the day Sunday, Father's Day. We contacted Diamond Heating and Air, two hours later, Bob diagnosed our problem (no Freon) and fixed our problem. They charged a fair price for a holiday emergency, I felt it was worth it.  However this story gets better, the next day our fan on the air-condition unit stopped working. We contacted Diamond again and Elaine was great, she told me to turn off my system and she would have Bob out to my house ASAP.  Two hours later Bob and one of his technicians were at our door. Guess what? Two wires need to be replaced, they did it for NO CHARGE! Simply amazing "Red Carpet" treatment to this client. One thing that ticked me off about all the other companies was the fact they would give me an estimate that didn't detail much of what the job entailed. He showed up within a couple hours on a Saturday after my call and e-mailed me his recommendations and advice a couple of hours later. When I would inquire on if this would be done or that would be done the response would be "oh yeah, we'll take care of that." Diamond spelled it all out!
