I managed to botch a thermostat replacement at the start of a heat wave, shorting out the blower control board (pro tip: flip the breakers before replacing your thermostat, kids!). Mel came out almost immediately, quickly diagnosed the problem, and explained that we'd need a new circuit board--which unfortunately wasn't stocked on his truck. Instead of making us wait days, he tracked one down at the office and came back that same evening, after 6 p.m., to install it. To make matters worse, I'd also managed to damage my brand-new thermostat. Rather than leave us without A/C, Mel temporarily jumped the fan so we could keep the house cool overnight, then recommended a thermostat model that would work well with our system. I picked one up the next day, installed it myself, and everything worked perfectly. On top of the outstanding service, I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the bill was. Our system is the original 30-year-old unit that came with the house, and plenty of companies might have used that as an opportunity to push a complete replacement. Instead, Mel fixed exactly what needed fixing and got us back up and running. Honest, knowledgeable, responsive, and fairly priced. I really can't recommend A/C Mechanical highly enough.

George was able to come out same day to…read moregive a price and was the only one to suggest keeping the furnace as a backup to a new heat pump AC unit, as our old furnace was still working and didn't need to be removed. I'm sure this cut some costs with remove/setup, but based on some research this is ideal as the weather can get down below 40 degrees where I live. We went with GVK due to this, the fact he took the time to answer all questions thoroughly and honestly, and they were able to install the next business day; got a quote on Friday afternoon and scheduled me for Monday to install the new system. The price was also very competitive with the other options. We did have a delay in starting as they had a mix-up on install dates and had to postpone one day. However, George called and apologized and offered a discount for the mistake and to charge our current system to help keep the house cool until they came out the next day, which I think reflects how he runs a customer focused business. When he did come out that day I had more questions about the setup and based on our discussion we changed the coil for more flexibility in moving the unit in the attic one day. It was pretty clear that George runs a solid business; he double checked they left no trash after leaving, his workers made sure to set up mats everywhere they worked inside, they let us know when they would be using louder tools (as we have a baby), and they stayed until the unit was fully installed which meant they stayed pretty late. I couldn't recommend them enough. George is really easy to work with, does a great job on the customer side and also steps in to do the work himself which is all reflected in the impressive reviews he has.

Once here, he was able to quickly identify the issue with our furnace with the description of issue and confirmed after a quick visual inspection of the related components.
