It was a Saturday afternoon and I noticed a big leak coming out next to the house in the backyard. I turned off the irrigation valve supply line and that didn't stop the leak. I called several plumbers. Left messages for all of them. No response. Then my phone rings and it was American ace. He was in the middle of a 75 water heater emergency and he couldn't help me but he gave the courtesy of a call back and even helped me diagnose over the phone. He directed me to go to the main meter by the side walk. He said about 2 feet or so away from there is a green box of some sort. There is a shutoff valve in the box which will shut off the irrigation supply line altogether. Sure enough it worked. And now that I knew it was irrigation and nothing more serious, I called my landscaper and he completed the repair. American ace demonstrated great service despite not actually doing the job. Calling back to at least acknowledge my call and taking time to help me over the phone is indicative of their company's work ethic and service. HONEST, RELIABLE, TIMELY, CONSIDERATE, PATIENT, FAIR PRICING, QUALITY WORK. I found Fred, the owner of American Ace Plumbing via a Yelp request I submitted. My condo was built in 1992, so it's now that time when things need to be replaced or upgraded. Fred came by to see if he could identify the shower valve cartridge, but there were no markings as it is the original valve installed back in 1992. Fred let me know that he would need to cut a larger opening into the tile and then, cover it with a larger valve cover/ shower handle. He also let me know that I needed to have a backup plan, since I live in a 1/1, in the event it was more than just the valve that needed replacing. He said, "This could open up a whole can of worms." I am so grateful that Fred was honest and cared whether or not I had a bathroom to use, and made me aware that changing a shower valve is not like changing a bathroom sink faucet. This repair/replacement exceeded all my expectations and I am so very happy that I will not have to renovate my bathroom ahead of my timeline as that would be a big financial burden for me. Fred has also replaced a tub diverter, bathroom sink faucet, kitchen faucet and toilet. Every time it has been a timely response and quality work. Got home one evening during these hot days and noticed that our AC condensor unit was not coming on. I tried everything I felt comfortable doing (pulling the disconnect and resetting it, resetting the breaker, and even changing the filter). After none of these were successful, I gave Fred a call the next morning. He came the same day and quickly diagnosed that one of the fuses in the disconnect was blown. He ended up replacing both fuses and the capacitor in our unit just out precaution. His service was quick (20 minutes) and he was very honest with me. I'm not sure what the going rate for the work is, but what he did seems very reasonable to me. Fred let me know that even though my unit was really old, it was actually good quality and running well. Unlike other companies that would probably suggest replacing the 30 year old system, he suggested repairing over replacing. I will definitely make sure to give Fred a call if something else happens with our hvac in the future! read more

2nd time calling Fred. This time for a HVAC/Furnace repair issue. I really appreciate a quick diagnosis of a complex problem. The problem was due to the chimney exhaust pipe on the roof. He went into the attic and after several minutes suspected that there was an issue on the roof. While I was puzzled by his suspicion, his hypothesis was spot on! Wow! He deftly climbed to the roof and removed the jammed chimney cap which was restricting airflow. Immediately drove to get replacement part and returned in 30mins. American Ace Plumbing CEO FRED is a straight shooter, no nonsense kind of guy. I asked for an estimate last week and he and his two cousins, Frank and Jay came, on time. Looked over the scope of the work. Fred then explained what they will do, gave me an estimate with options of what water heaters I would like, length of warranty. Gave me time to think it over. No pressure. After a day of contemplating and cost comparison with two other companies, I then accepted Fred's offer. Frank and Jay came back 5 days ago, March 28 and right on time. Frank and Jay were amiable ,polite. Did the work in about 3 hours and provided everything that was promised,installed the Bradford White water heater, including the expansion tank. Frank even turned off my furnace inside the house and turned it back on including the thermostat after they finished their work. Good job. Found American Ace Plumbing via Yelp. Contact Fred for a shower drain unblocking at 8am. He was able to come same day-- time window between 11am and 2pm. He texted when he was on his way and arrived just after 11. Clean truck, organized tools and supplies and wore shoe covers to protect the floors. I appreciate the little things. Fred and a crew member got to work and snaked the drain. He had an industrial size powered auger that could go 60ft. He got a handful of hair and gunk from the shower drain. Fred tested it thoroughly and unfortunately there still seemed to be a block. He then proceeded to snake the bathroom sink and went pretty deep there too. He estimated about 40-45 feet. There were some nervous moments when the line seemed stuck but it came out eventually. He also collected a bunch of hair from the sink line. He explained that all the drain lines meet up and that's why he ran the shower, sink, and bathtub taps to see if they all drained properly and didn't back up the shower drain. Job done! Fred and his helper were professional and took the effort to lay down rags, buckets, and plastic sheets to keep surfaces protected and clean. Had to pay extra for the sink snaking but it was understandable. Fair pricing overall. They accept cash, check, and Zelle. After my own attempts to remedy the situation, it was clearly a job for the pros. I'm glad I contacted Fred and American Ace Plumbing. Like most of the other reviews here, very happy with the service and would recommend them 100%. read more
