After many years, we finally decided to go ahead and replace our classic hurricane shutters with accordion shutters. We looked up different providers and ended up with three vendors. AC Shutters wasn't the least expensive one, but their price was reasonable, and it all paid off. We chose AC Shutters due to Armando's overall professionalism: he not only described but actually demonstrated how his product measured up to the competition; he explained in detail the deliverables, the price breakdown and the time it would take to get everything installed. All our questions were also properly addressed. Armando also accommodated the date of the installation to our schedule. Installation was done professionally within one day. Permits and inspections were also taken care of. We were so satisfied with the final results, that we re-hired AC Shutters to install a motorized, roll-up screen to close up our covered patio. There were some challenges that had to be overcome, since the patio opening wasn't entirely square. Armando faced those challenges and completed the job professionally, without taking any shortcuts, and without complains. The end result was stunning! I went to all of the owners in my HOA who were in a similar quandry and let them know that I would be researching companies if they wanted to join the group. We interviewed 4 shutter businesses over about 2 months and chose Armando with AC Shutters because he was the most professional, the most thorough and the most knowledgeable about all things shutters. He brought samples, he answered all questions. In addition, he used 5 1/2 inch anchor tapcons where all of the others we interviewed used 3 !/2. We had AC Shutters install accordion shutters on our one-story house in Rock Creek, HOLLYWOOD FLORIDA and they did a beautiful job. In addition, the front door posed a special problem because of walls on both sides AND being flush with the entry floor. Armando designed a special installation for us, because the door had glass plus a glass sidelite, in order to get insurance coverage. Because of the great experience, we also used AC Shutters for our 2-story townhome in The Township in Coconut Creek. Again, beautiful job. It has double-wide sliders both down and up. Also, Armando and son are very kind. When we installed new glass sliders on the Rock Creek house, they very kindly came to remove that accordion and then again to reinstall for us. After Hurricane Irma in September 2017, my husband and I decided we could not wait for another Hurricane to come by before installing shutters. A few of our neighbors settled on AC Shutters & Awnings and we have been very pleased with the result. We ordered them a little too close to hurricane season so it took him longer to install, but they are custom made, and he does by the date they are ordered. When the city came for the final inspection, the inspector told us the company we hired did an excellent job. To me that is a great compliment. Armando is the main guy I dealt with. The business he runs is busy. He installed all new accordion shutters at my house in Sunrise, FL. And he did such a nice job that I recommended him to my next door neighbor whom also was very satisfied. You do have to chase him a little bit (several calls/msgs) for any install adjustments. But he is worth the wait and does come through. He will either come himself or send one of his guys to adjust whatever is needed. As he likes to say he is with you for life after the install.
