This company preys on the elderly. My 98 year old grandmother had a church coupon for an AC check up so she gave them a call. They proceeded to cut off her electricity accidentally and then had the audacity to upsell her on an $1800 service she didn't want, need, and can't afford. They had her sign something she couldn't see and didn't understand. They are not returning my calls to attempt to make things right. We bought our a/c from AC warehouse, and also purchased their multi visit maintenance plan.Each time they schedule a visit, it is with a 4 hour window. And each time we have been at the final moments of that four hours, or they are late. Today, after 1/2 hour past the scheduled window, I called and was told the technician was running late and we were his next visit. Then to add insult to injury, I was told the technician would call when he would be here within 1/2 to1 hour. Since he has not called it could possibly be much longer than another hour before he eventually appears. If this is the last maintenance visit we have prepayed for, it will definitely be the last time I use them. I intend to put this review on Yelp and Home Advisor so others can see how little respect this company has for customers. read more

BEWARE, UNETHICAL COMPANY--A/C Warehouse installed a new cooling system (Rheem compressor and evaporator coil unit) at my home in 2012. During a recent supposed "tune up/maintenance" visit, the tech (actually salesman) claimed that among other problems he found that the temperature variance was off, the power draw was too high and the coolant level was too low. Consequently, he insisted that the entire system needed to be replaced at a cost of $5,698 despite the fact that it was still under the ten (10) year parts warranty period! To add insult to injury the system he was recommending as a replacement was a discontinued, contractor's grade, all electric heating and cooling system. As a result, he was proposing not only to remove and replace the cooling system components, but also my existing and perfectly operating Carrier gas furnace/ air handler. I declined his suggestion and called three (3) other companies for a second opinion. All three (3) of the technicians dispatched by the other companies completed a thorough diagnostic on the system. Although they each did find that the temperature variance was slightly off, none found any need to replace the system. The company I ultimately chose to go with for subsequent annual maintenance (Green Cooling Solutions) found that A/C Warehouse had actually at some point over inflated the system with coolant, and upon relieving the pressure, got the temperature level and all values back to normal! My total cost was $179 for the annual maintenance contract, a far cry from the $5,698 for the new system A/C Warehouse was trying to scam me into buying! read more

Nothing but issues with this company. Purchased a new unit through them. New unit constantly breaking down over the course of a couple years. I expected to eventually have issues with the system, but not so fast considering it was a brand new system. Their maintenance contract claims they're supposed to lubricate moving parts, and clean the AC coils. They don't do any of that. When they started trying to charge 400 dollars just to flush out my drain line, that was the last straw. I can flush the drain lines by myself for free. Keep away from these guys. I purchase my AC from Them about 6 years ago kept up with my maintenance always changes out our filters every 3 months my last schedule maintenance which was this past April That is when things went south with this company the first tech came said that if we did a algaecide tablet done it would keep the system running better and deter for rust any some more things he suggested so after 483.00 and then I told him about sound like ice freezing up and he preceded to tell me that was a normal sound which I didn't think so so off he went. 2 weeks later discovered water leaking out damaged my floor and also went to the downstairs unit called them up and they came back did not charge me a service call because it had been within the month so then was told that the coil in my AC unit where leaking and that they would have to replace them order the part came and fixed them another 583.00 then one week after the system was still not working right and said that it was leaking from compressor by this time I was pretty fed up the tech Dennis said these thing just happen suggested I might want to consider a whole new AC so needless to say I told them never come back. This company thinks nothing of peoples times had to wait home all for when they would come even I have had no show before...they did not offer any money off for our inconvenience or I stand corrected she offer me 89.00 off for service charge (and there wasn't even a service charge) because they where coming back with a month of the last service. Zero communication. Bad office management. Set up service to be billed for moms service when we called to schedule. Literally 10 mins after service, I was called to pay and yelled at that the tech should have collected payment. Then another office loser called mom out of state for payment. The big whopping $39 service was paid via credit card literally 35 mins after service. The office then proceeded to call my wife for payment and then call mom 2 more times for payment that was already completed. They even emailed a receipt for the payment. 3 hours later mom was called again for payment. Then they called wife again for payment. I ordered a package AC unit on a Monday, and was advised it would ship within 2-3 days. I called on Thursday to check on the status of the order (since I hadn't heard from them), and was advised that my unit had been on backorder (but was now in their factory & would ship that day). On Friday, I called (since I didn't get any tracking info), and was advised that the unit would now be shipped on the following Thursday (11 days after I placed the order). I have had the misfortune of using AC Warehouse twice for new AC units. (I know, shame on me for expecting something better the second time). They are never on time, sell units that break down and promise the moon. And underdeliver, exceptionally. It took them 3 years and $2600 in unnecessary repairs to finally figure out that the airflow wasn't sufficient. For service calls- yes they will schedule them- and never show up on time. After the air went out, AC were there the same day, I checked the price which was competitive and they installed two ACs & two air handlers within two days. After finding the fuse kept going, they corrected my wiring (which was the problem - so not their fault) and all works great. (The previous owner had the whole pool fuse system hanging off the back of one of the ACs 25 fuse !!!). But they found it and corrected it. Having been in Sarasota since the mid 90's, I have run the gamut with A/C companies and contracts. When I needed a new system, I called several companies for quotes and recommendations. That's when I met Pat from A/C Warehouse. He actually recommended that I DO NOT get a new system and to try and get by a few more years with the exisating system-which I did. Pat=Honesty=5 Stars. When I did replace the system this past summer, Pat gave me the best price (yup i still checked) and made sure I had all the applicable rebates being offered. The entire unit ,inside and out,was replaced quickly and professionally. They are responsive to your calls and I love being reminded, by Carmen, that I need a yearly maintenance call. She always waits until there is a special to give me the best deal. They called me today to set up appointment for my semi annual service - like I already paid for it, which I have not. So the call within it's self was a scam. I haven't used them in 2 years. When asked to set up appointment I replied no thanks. THATS WHEN SHE SLAMMED THE PHONE IN MY EAR! Hello, your rude attitude and awful customer service are one of the two reasons I stopped using you. When they miss their appointment they tell you it's your fault or you didn't actuslly have an appointment Office people are rude and lie. The awful customer service was actually the second reason I stopped using them. They installed my top of the line a/c unit, air handler, extra air filter system ($1000) and all new duct work about 6 years ago. To the tune of almost $11,000. I the first month we had 8 service calls! Fast forward, then started semi-annual service. The first three years after installation was fine, but then something drastically changed. Every time the service man came here he told me about all the mold inside my air handler, and wanted to put in a $1700 blue light to stop the mold growth. Said the mold was making sick. I refused. He then said as a favor me, his good customer, he would spray something inside the unit that should tide me over till the next visit. I have a camera in my garage... I watched him take the filter to the sink and wash it off! The following year my service contract was with another company who gave my HVAC system a great review and no service was necessary. I heard they are under a different ownership, and have transgressed into another lowlife, dishonest, AC company that is among so many here in Florida. I was happy with my service initially, had a great tech and honest guy. Now, when the tech comes all he does is try to sell you something you don't need, and basically are totally dishonest so they can make an extra buck! First of all, they are paperless. Concerned about the environment? Maybe. More likely, this allows them to give no paper estimates, invoices or receipts. I talked on the phone and was told it would be $89 for a diagnostic visit. I make an appointment for my mom but can't be there. I later find out she paid $242. Mom is 88 yrs old and hard of hearing. She told Greg, the technician ,she didn't understand why it was so high, and she doesn't know what he did. Could he give her something in writing? "No". It sounds like he was rude to her and she paid him reluctantly. As he leaves, she tells him she's upset, but rather than taking time to help her understand, he says he's upset too and talks about his family problems. A neighbor called, spoke to Greg, who told him they are a paperless co. but he sent her an email. I called the next day, woman who answered was not the least bit concerned. "We are paperless." "Email is not paper" I say. She says they never got an email address from us. I give it to her. Wait. Check spam box. No email. I call back. I repeat the address, and she repeats it back. She offers to send a paper copy in addition to another email. I'm sure you see what's coming--no email, no snail mail. Just a cashed $242 check with only a reminder to be smarter next time to show for it. This place is a SCAM. Don't call them and don't let your friends call them. My rating is 0 stars. I placed a service call for a unit that stopped working. It was installed by A/C Warehouse in 2012 with a 10 year warranty. A tech named Donovan made the service call and said that the compressor is no good. He said due to us not paying for A/C Warehouse's 2x annual service inspections at $189 a year, we have voided our warranty. This repair would cost $3,800, however he also found a LARGE AMOUNT OF MOLD inside the blower unit in the house. he recommended paying the additional amount to REPLACE THE ENTIRE UNIT INSIDE AND OUT. This would cost $5,100, after "a discount for a trade in', and as long as the duct work was ok. If the duct work needed replaced, that would cost $3,500-4,500 additional or they could seal it for half of that amount. I called another company for a 2nd opinion on the price of a new unit, and was told that the A/C Warehouse quote is excessive and the fact that not having a unit serviced has NO EFFECT on a manufacturers warranty. The 2nd company came out today and our parts ARE covered under manufacturers warranty and come to find out, THE COMPRESSOR IS ABSOLUTELY FINE!!!! As far as MOLD, it is just a little dirty. The module and blower motor and cage have been replaced for under $500. I called A/C Warehouse and requested a refund of the $89 service call fee for the scare tactics to cause unnecessary stress and lying to me about the warranty and bad parts. I was denied a refund unless I submit an email with the 2nd opinion estimate. I called the tech Donovan and asked why he lied about the compressor and lied about the warranty being void and he said "that is what the office told me". read more

Tech was at my home for 60 minutes. I couldn't understand why he kept taking things apart because he found why the fan wasn't blowing within 15 minutes. The thermostat relay control was gone, so he bypassed the relay and wired it directly to the fan. When he finished and began his maintenance hard sell, I got concerned. I asked him how much todays work was and he said $89.00 for the appointment. He than said plus labor and I asked how much for labor. First he said he had to check, then when I pressed, he said $90.00 and hour. My assumption was that the $89.00 was for the time spent diagnosing the (15 minute solved) problem. But no, he said so far it was 60 minutes, then he said "by the time I write up the invoice it would be 75 minutes". THIRTY DOLLARS TO WRITE AN INVOICE? $200.00 total to move a wire from one plug to another. $200.00 FOR ONE HOUR. If you decide to use these guys, don't allow the tech to (as he did to me) climb into the air return, take apart the fan, examine the thermostat, etc., etc., he tore into everything to take up more time, then told me I need to replace my jalousie windows. What a genius!! when I called Nate at the office, he told me that they need to charge those prices to cover their overhead, and to get professional diagnosis ... which amounted to REPLACE MY WINDOWS...... read more

I am feeling manipulated by A/C warehouse.They keep finding things that need fixing,like my duct work. They said it was torn and it needed removal and replacement.Since i do not go up in the "attic" through my garage ceiling. I believed them but I can never be sure that I really did need $3000 duct work.I just have a growing distrust.My daughter was told today she needs a $900 + uv light.. It just keeps going.These are 3yr.old a/c in each home.i think I will look for a self employed a/c guy who has integrity because i don't see it anymore, just overpriced and not so honest anymore.I was charged $89 to come out on a week day during regular hours and paid over $240 + for the guy blowing out a clog in the line. If I could give less than one star I would do it. I was stupid and bought my AC unit from them and then bought endless filters...The unit they sold me they said never needed filters,,,,but you could see straight through the filter, so I had coil damage, the unit was under warranty but they didn't tell me that. A different company did. Oh I tried to get more filters after buying the filter plan, guess what...when I had service call that I said specifically bring filters, the man showed up with NOOOO FILTERS. So I said no problem, bring them by when you are in the area!!! SInce that day On January 20 of this year 2021 I have called 3 times it is now THE END OF APRIL.....still no one cares enough to deliver filters. They don't want you to have a good filtration system, even told me the See through filter and said it was all you need, All they want to do is part you from your money. Thank Goodness another small company said, your coils are all rusted....and the unit of coils is still under warranty and they fixed it for cost of labor only. AVOID these people like the plague, you will get no filters if you pay for the filter replacement program... because it is better for them to not have someone that has clean ac unit. read more

We called Comfort Pro for a second opinion they repaired the unit by replacing the Capacitor for less than $100.00. We feel AC Warehouse was trying to take advantage of us. Stay Away! Crooks! They came out and said I had a leak and by the time I found it and repaired the problem it would be close to $3K so I might as well buy a whole new system for $8K. The tech really was pushing for the new system and just kept ignoring me asking for an official estimates for both options. One star is to high! I originally purchased my 1st a/c unit in 2014 when their service tech advised us our unit would cost more to fix than it was worth. His top of the line a/c unit cost us $8400. Over the next 7 years I've been told by different A/C warehouse techs when they were here for the maint. check that different things were necessary to maintain our unit. Such as a lead nut place on the outside unit to keep it from corroding --$250. A Reme halo UV light to keep dust from entering our home and stop mold from forming in the unit-$1150. Another tech later on says the lead nut is only needed in homes located near salt water not way out here in the country we re we live. Another tech showed me mold in the air handler and said the reme halo was installed in the wrong place and he wanted to in stall another one in the lower part of the air handler. I didn't fall for that lie. In 2016the unit stopped working. The service tech came out and worked several hours replacing something called a TXV. When he finished he said it would be $800 plus. He said I could buy an extended warranty to cover everything (parts & labor) for the balance of the ten years and it would even cover todays charge of $800 plus. So I went along with his offer and purchased the extended warranty since it would cover everything and cost only and additional $300 plus for the next 8 years. Then in 2018 it actually paid for itself, the unit broke down and they replaced a leaking coil at no charge. Skip the next few years and get to the present 4/2022. The unit stopped blowing cold air. The service tech came out and was able to find a leaking coil in a short amount of time. He was quick to let me know it would take 2 to 4 weeks to get the part but the bad news is the cost of Freon has gone sky high and it would cost $3000 and Freon isn't covered under the warranty. He did some quick figuring and said he could install a new unit the next day for $7254 and it would include a 10 year $1125 extended warranty that covers everything, even Freon. I told him I should get a credit of $240 for the balance of the extended warranty I already paid for. He went to his truck to call his manager (he said) then when he returned he said the manager approved 50% credit of $120. So the total cost ended up to be $7134. Because my wife has Alzheimer's and gets upset easily I didn't want to get second opinions or have more people out so I went with his offer. When I received the extended warranty paper from A/C warehouse I found items excluded that I would have to pay for. When I called the office I was told what is written in the warranty prevails and I would have to pay for those services if I needed them. I told her I wanted to cancel the extended warranty and a credit of $1125 applied to my account . That was 4/29/2022, I've talked to the office personnel several times and still haven't received my credit. I have placed a dispute with my credit card company for the $1125 charge so time will tell where that will lead. My advise is don't deal with A/C warehouse! read more

June 30th, 2015, I called AC Warehouse to provide service at an apartment in Bradenton. Kayla was very helpful locating someone, and within the hour I had a technician "Jeff" at the place. He look around the unit, and within 15 minutes he told me the "king valve of the AC was broken and he could not charge the system with freon" he immediately recommended to replace the unit since it was 13 years old. He added that replacing the valve could cost me between $1800-$2000, and that the new system in cash will be $3400 or finance $3800. I told the "tech" that I had to think about it overnight. My surprise was, the tech asked me if I was the landlord of the place, and I told him yes. Hours later, my tenant called upset because her house was at 90 degrees (Summer, Florida). I called the "tech" and left a couple of voicemails. So I decided to call someone else since he was not responding. The real AC tech from the other company told me "most likely the "tech" left the handler off, and that they most likely do that to force the choice of buying a new AC" I drove to the apartment and "YES" the system breaker was left disconnected. The "tech" never mentioned he was going to do that, he decided that on his own, knowing that the house had a tenant and we are in the middle of Summer in Florida. I think his actions were outrageous. The other tech guy, stopped by the apartment today, after an hour my AC is working and the bill is only $325 dollars. I called to complaint and Kayla pickup the phone. While she continues to be very helpful, I requested a refund of my $69 service (or should I called it disservice) call. She mentioned that is not possible for them to refund it. I recommend you never call this company. I believe there is good people working there, but a business that defends such an outrageous and corrupted behavior don't deserve your money. read more

AC Warehouse has the WORST customer service ever. I was told that my first AC check up would be free, but on the day (I wasn't home) my husband was told to pay $60. A few calls later, we found out the person who told me it would be free was FIRED, but the manager Kayla said they would refund our money since we were lied to by that former employee. Cut to the day I get a check for $20 and a screw-you attitude when I called her back to ask where the rest of my money was. I was promised a $60 refund, and they magically feigned memory loss on that promise to return all my money, saying that they had bills to pay too. They just don't care about their customers or making sure that their employees say the same things across the board. read more

They charged less for diagnostic then anyone else I called and said they would apply it to the repair if it was over $200. When they came out, they did not try to sell me a new unit. They found they problem and repaired in less than an hour then put all the screws back including ones that my sister and neighbor had taken out thinking they might repair it. They only charged for the part replaced, not the extra time or screws. I highly recommend Jim and his team, they are honest, knowledgeable and hardworking. read more
