This company came to me recommended by friends. I had used them for a routine check up of my a/c without problems. But a while back I had a leak that was misdiagnosed by their service dept. The repair quote was over a thousand dollars. When the technician came to fix it, he realized they had misdiagnosed the problem, called the manager and I ended up paying about half the original quote. I think it was an honest (if unnecessary) mistake. 05/2104 When my 11 year old heat pump broke down a few weeks ago, I called them for an estimate. Their prices were the best around, and they did not try to sell me an overly expensive unit. The installer was very professional, cleaned up nicely, and offered me good tips on how to maintain the equipment. I wasn't thrilled with the thermostat they installed which made very loud clicking noises, so they are replacing it at no cost. I highly recommend them. read more

Recently used the $59 coupon for ac service. Tech showed on time, but within hours the a/c stopped working. They sent another tech later in the day, replaced the switch that had blown for 1/2 price ($80). Could be a coincidence that the switch blew after he was there. Could be a coincidence the same thing happened to my co-worker. Beware. read more

Do not use AC Warehouse. I beg you. We were called to see if we wanted a maintenance on our unit. The tech came yesterday and never introduced himself so we have no idea what is name was. We never saw him take any equipment back to the unit and when he came back he stated that our air conditioner would not make it thru the summer. He pulled out his temperature gun to show us the temp difference between the intake and the output. Well he didn't actually show us the numbers but said that they were bad. He tried to sell us a new air conditioner saying that heater was being phased out and they didn't make them anymore. He just pushing for us to buy. He never checked the heater. He said that we had several vents and we have 2. The other tech have always taken pictures of the gauges on the unit. We were not given a receipt for what we paid, i called AC Warehouse and was told that the manger would be calling back. As of today we have not heard from them. read more

I can't tell you how impressed we are with AC Warehouse. We needed a new HVAC Heat & Air System because the compressor went out on ours. To replace the compressor was going to cost around $1800 so we just decided to replace the whole thing. We have a Heat Pump system. We contacted AC Warehouse, All Seasons, Manatee Air, & Nice Heating & Air to get estimates for the replacement of our 2.5 ton unit. AC Warehouse beat all the others on price by between $500 & $1500. The estimates we got were for Bryant, Rheem and Frigidaire units. We ended up with a Rheem system that has 2 year labor warranty and 10 year parts. You could pay $600 more and get a 10 year labor warranty but we opted not to. What was really impressive was that the day we got the estimates, it was in the high 80s. Even though AC Warehouse was going to be able to replace our unit the next day we were set on having to spend another hot night not sleeping again. But alas ! The guy (Garth) from AC Warehouse had some of their service techs come out that same day and replace the outside AC part of our our system with another old one that worked (with the same old style coolant) !! They came out and within an hour had us up and running so we had air conditioning for the the night !! And true to their word, their guys showed up bright and early the next day and installed our new unit. Now that's above and beyond ! Not a single one of the other company even offered to lend us a window air conditioner until they could install. The install was quick and looks good, and best, it works great ! We HIGHTLY recommend these guys ! read more

I have had a unit with them for around a year. They have been at my house at least half a dozen times to fix the problems with it. Three months ago my ceiling started leaking due to the AC Warehouse system pooling. At first we were told it was a bad pan and that it needed to be replaced, and we had a plugged drain tube. When the crew came out they said that the unit was installed wrong and placed on the wrong setting causing it to blow too hard and spit water where it didn't belong. At this point the dry wall guy had to remove much of the ceiling and replace it (an entire day job.) Two months ago the AC Warehouse crew "fixed" a bad wire by running an exposed wire with PVC covering it across my living room, not meeting building code. The "PVC" is now falling off of the wall due to the double sided tape that was used not sticking. I was told this was an acceptable fix and I have had several people at my house to assess this situation and I have been passed around from person to person, yet nobody seems to make anything happen. Yesterday on 8/28 my unit completely froze up and was again leaking from my ceiling. I'm not sure if it wasn't fixed correctly the first time, or if again something is wrong with this "brand new" system that was installed one year ago. I have been treated very poorly by several staff members on the phone to the point where I was hung up on. I am very upset about this situation. I have called several times and conveniently the boss has not been in his office every time I have called and does not feel the need to call me back. I DO NOT recommend this company!! read more

Turns out I only needed a new float and thermostat. Total $200. I've used ac warehouse awhile back with good results but apparently now they are a rip off. Even the $4100 quote was a rip off. We called the office to complain and she said the delay was because of the bridge on Cortez. SHE LIED Cortez bridge is on the west side of Bradenton. A/C Warehouse sent a sales rep and not a service technician to find out why my heat pump wouldn't come on. He removed a small corner panel and pointed to a tiny white wire saying, "Here's your problem. Your compressor is shot." He highly recommended a new Rheem unit for a cost of $6,637. When I almost fainted, he said well you could try just a new compressor for only $3750 or a new Comfortmaker unit for only $4500. But he emphasized that the second and third options would probably not last very long. And emphasized I should really go with the $6,637 option. Well I paid Garth the $89 "service" (ha! what service?) charge and then called Cool Today and an actual "SERVICE TECHNICIAN" came out. Vincent took off the same side panel, checked all wiring and said he saw no problems there. Then he took off the entire top of the heat pump. I asked what he could see when he put his head in there. He said, "this is where the compressor is." I said, "Really. The A/C Warehouse guy never even looked in there to diagnose my 'failed' compressor." Vince, from Cool Today said the compressor looked fine. So he did a little more diagnostics and found that the problem was simply the "contactor" which is a little switch that lets the unit kick on when the thermostat tells it to. The cost was $249 plus tax - a far cry from the $6,637 that Garth from A/C Warehouse quoted to me. In fact the contactor replacement was 4% of the cost of what the A/C Warehouse "salesman" wanted me to dish out. A/C Warehouse is strictly about trying to take advantage of people by consistently telling them they need an entire new unit. They lie - right to your face. Deplorable business ethics! read more

Our air conditioner unit is 15 yrs old and we had been trying to ' baby it" as long as we could but it had worked its heart for us and could go on no longer. Joel Z. was our technician and was so friendly, professional, and so helpful. He made the whole process seem so easy. We were fortunate in having him and highly recommend asking for him if you have an a.c. problem. The 3 technicians that installed our new unit were great too. They were early (that hardly ever happens), took their time, and did a great job with the whole installing process. Having Joel Z. from the start set the stage for a positive outcome. I am very dissatisfied with their non service. They came to my house Wednesday and said I had mold. They were supposed to do the normal service but they only did part of it, although they checked it off on the receipt they gave my husband. They scared him and got him to pay $700.00 with a $50 coupon for the installation of a UV light in the air handler. They did nothing to the wires where they said the mold is. Mind you this is a 3 year old home. They left their garbage in the closet with the air handler and left. I will be calling them soon!!!! read more

I gave one star rating to A/C Warehouse due to being way over priced for parts and service. Their response time was very good after calling them after hours and the technician was professional and knowledgeable but a 45 minute repair to replace the fan blower motor cost me $575.00! Did check on line and found that the motor was only $75.00. Taking advantage of people on social security is not a very Christen thing to do, that is almost a month check. To add insult, my neighbor who does A/C repair said the repair average cost is around $250.00 for that job. I had called A/C Warehouse because they put the A/C system in and felt that they would give me a break but that was obviously not the case. That will be their last call from me. read more

Never got a chance to rate AC Warehouse on their expertise replacing our AC unit at our home. I can rate their customer service which I would say is poor. After waiting two and a half hours for the estimator to show, I called and was told they had left a message a half hour earlier at our contact number. An obvious lie. They were very nice and professional and had the answers to the questions I had. Then once the technician came out to my home, he was clean and professional in appearance and was also very helpful and courteous. He worked quickly but efficiently and didn't leave me home without telling what he did and without suggestions on going forward of what we may need. Overall, excellent experience with A/C Warehouse and I will definitely recommend them to anyone needing just a maintenance or something fixed, and I will definitely be calling them when it is time to replace my system!! read more

Been a customer for many years. Got new unit installed from them. Performed maintenance. Had issues from beginning but paid hundreds of $ in fees. Coil broke less than 3 years on new unit. They charged me $800+ for labor + diagnose fee. Just last week a/c out due to drain line clogged. Charged me $212. Asked NATE to cut me some slack and he said no and said he was surprised I asked. After spending so much with this company u think they would cut some slack. But greedy company and disappointed in their office staff. Avoid the hassles and go with a different company. Stay away from a/c warehouse. Sales rep was dishonest and high pressure for me to sign on the spot.. I told her that I needed to get at least 1 other estimate and did have 3 other companies coming out the next day. She said that she could offer a big rebate but only if I committed at that time. I said once again that I needed at least one other estimate to compare. Also the unit that they would install is low quality junk. After she left I Googled that brand and it is unreliable garbage. Also she told me that she would email me a complete quote but never did because she knew that once I had gotten the other estimates I would know that she was adding on work I didn't need and over charging of the cost of the replacement. The other estimates ranged from $2000 to $3000 less then what she presented me with and no one else told me I needed new ducts installed and all the others said they would use the same brand equipment as I currently have because it would less work and fit right in place. A/C warehouse's rep said they would have to major modifications to get their brand to fit. So many red flags popped up in my free in home rip off estimate that made my mind up not to do business with this company. read more

I called Joby the General Manager of AC Warehouse Thursday evening around 1700 hours when my AC unit stopped working. Within a few minutes a very nice gal from the office called and said a TECH would be there within the hour coming from South Tampa. Major arrived one hour later and was working on the unit nearly two hours before I decided it was time to replace the 15 year old Trane unit. I contacted Joby again who advised Billy would come by first thing in the morning to discuss new unit options. My better half met with Billy Friday morning and she said he was gracious, knowledgeable and pleasant as we decided on a new unit. Joby contacted me again and said his team of installers would arrive Saturday at 9 AM to install the new unit that was agreed upon. Saturday at exactly 0851 hours (yes early) Rob and Bruce arrived and hit the ground running beginning on the install and were knowledgeable, polite, efficient and clean during the entire install. Our home was cool again shortly thereafter and our new unit looks and runs fantastic. I would definitely recommend AC Warehouse and calling Joby if you ever need AC service etc and it should be noted I had previous experience with AC Warehouse at my prior townhome (nearly 4 years) and the service was impeccable. read more

I needed a new AC because mine was leaking, and this company by far had the best price, which was great. The installation went well and the guy who installed it was great. However, when it came time to schedule the required county inspection, things went bad. The woman in charge of that, Sherry, is very rude and unaccommodating. I had previously told her what times I wouldn't be available to answer the phone, and she called during those hours and started yelling at ME and saying that if I get a fee it is MY fault. I missed one phone call from her, because it was during the hours I told her I was at work. How can she get mad at me for not answering the phone when I was at work, especially when she knew exactly what time I couldn't answer? My life doesn't revolve around getting my AC unit inspected and I doubt anyone else's does either. AC Warehouse is fine, but Sherry is rude to customers and doesn't listen. She wouldn't let me speak to a supervisor either. Next time my AC has a problem, I'm definitely not calling them again. She turned what would have been a 5 star review into a 1 star. This happened around July of last year, but I know she still does work there. I didn't end up getting a fine, because the inspector understood that I wasn't at fault. No thanks to Sherry. read more

we called ac warehouse because the air conditioning was not working....we had them before under contract. he guy said we needed a new unit[and gave us a sob story his dad just had a heart attack and he was having heart problems}.he got on the phone with the warehouse, gave us a very high price. when we hemmed and hawed he called back the warehouse and got them to lower it some...we said we would get back to them.....we called another company who checked our unit and said there was nothing wrong with it...ac warehouse kept calling us even though we told them they lied to us.......they pulled the same scam with our son in lakewood ranch and he found out he did not need a new unit.....we do not trust some of their employees so we will never use them again......would like to give them 0 stars.......... read more

At first I thought these guys were great. They came within a couple of days, installed docs and central air. Cleaned up right away. 4 months later they sent a letter, no inspection. Had been done on their work and if I didn't call them, they would not be responsible. I live 53 miles away from the house they serviced. I have driven 3 times round trip for inspections that have failed. After the first inspection, the inspector took pictures and sent the many details that needed attention.system not grounded. Wrong piping in a closet it has to be metal, not plastic.and other things. Second inspection, no grounding done and upper piping replaced but not lower piping. My time is worth something. Taking off of work, driving 106 miles round trip and having to sit at an empty house for hours for another inspection. To set up appointments with them is terrible. Calling for 2 weeks with no returned phone calls. They got my money, gave unsatisfactory work and have cost me time, gas. Lost wages, and aggrevation AND put me at the bottom of their schedule. They should of came out for the inspection with me and fixed problem immediately. My system was put in in January. It is August and still waiting for inspection to pass. read more

I was having problems with my AC so I had a friend who's boyfriend owned his own AC business but she was working for AC Warehouse. So I called her and she sent out a technician from there to check it out. She asked me to call her as soon as I knew what the problem was. I paid the service charge of $69 and called to tell her the problem. She told me "don't use them, my boyfriend will come on Saturday and do it cheaper, just send them away." So, as I had known her for awhile I did as she asked and sent the technician away, did not mention anything to them, and waited for Veronica to send her boyfriend. So,no one ever came, I contacted her after being without AC for 4 days in 90 degree weather with my sick husband and two dogs just baking. She never did send him. First thing this morning I called AC Warehouse back and asked them to send someone back out to fix it as we had been sitting here in the heat for a week now. We waited all day long for the technician to show up and then at 4:00 this afternoon, my "friend" Veronica's supposed supervisor called and informed me that they decided that they would not be coming to fix my air after all as it was now a conflict of interest. So we sat here another whole day without air and too late to get anyone else. This person informed me that it was the owners decision to not send anyone. I don't know if that is true, but either way, it's not any way to run a business, especially waiting until it was too late for me to call anyone else. I give them 0 stars. This company is a joke. Only a handful of the technicians have gone to school for heat and air. The state of Florida does not care if they know what they are doing. If your unit is 8 or more years old it will be a salesman that comes to your door. They will tell you how bad your unit is and that it needs replaced. Always get a second opinion if you call them. It's not about the customer with this company. Call a smaller company it will save you in long run. Always pay the few extra bucks to get the labor covered for the next 10 years it's worth it. They push Rheem products and well the extra $700 is way better then $1000 or more a year for repairs. If you call to complain you will never get to talk to the boss. It's leave a message maybe they will call you back. Give you some excuse. But Carrrier or Bryant. It's a better product. Just so you know if you are replacing the ductwork also needs to be checked. Why would you not replace it to. They need to do their job. And well never ask for Garth he had NO clue about AC. Again he's a salesman in a technicians uniform. If you must call ask for Chris Burns or Jeremy Chapman. Both are great techs and won't screw you over. Good luck call veteran air your better off. read more
