If there is something I dread, is getting the smog check notice from the DMV. This type of errands seem overwhelming to me. I searched for a reliable spot on yelp and came up with ACA. Was hesitant at first due to long waiting times but the couoen they offer online seemed like an offer that can't be refused. I arrived, filled a form and within half an hour it was all set and done. Don't go here. Came with one problem. Took them a month to take care of it. Turns out they didn't look up the information of my car (VIN code) till I brought it back for them to fix the exact same problem. They then preceded to try to over charge me. When it was given back to me, there was open wires and so on. Again don't go here. read more

ACA has done the Smog certification on all of our cars for the last 10 years or so. They get our older 2017 Element and 2000 Mercedes CLK 320 to pass! They are always polite and efficient. The whole service usually takes under an hour. Go in the middle of the week and avoid early morning, lunch hour and just after work, when most people have time to go - if you can! My husband and I are beyond impressed with the service at ACA Automotive. They're honest, efficient, and professional. Every staff we encountered had excellent customer service. My car was a little difficult to access to get the clutch repaired so it took a couple days longer than expected to get it back, during that time they consistently updated us on the progress and even offered us a rental. We didn't need the rental but we appreciated the offer. We never felt pressured or uneasy about their approach finding other problems with the car as it happens as many car repair shops. They found other electrical components which needed repair (that I was previously aware off) and we were given a better deal compared to other places. We got all that taken care off through them and I couldn't be more satisfied. I've been driving my car for a week now and it runs just as smoothly as brand new. took my car in to fix my transmission oil pan leak, they fixed the leak, but told me i was going to have to spend 5-6k for a new transmission because it was leaking, and the mechanic lied saying it was "blown" and wouldn't drive, i told the mechanic, Sal to clear the codes and makes sure the car isn't in limp mode, and he was being very rude about it, insisting it needed a whole new transmissio. came to pick up my car, cleared the codes, and drove the car home... very shady wouldn't trust them again read more

Called to get a quote to change out my brake pads, David answered. He would not check, and said I have to bring the car in. It feels like a scam and untrustworthy. I received quotes from other mechanics, but this place is either too busy to bother, or wants you to come in so they can hassle you on price. If I could give them zero Stars I would. I need a new catalytic converter for my car when I called in the morning to get a general quote Adam is the person I spoke to and asked for my VIN number amongst other things. Once that was given I was told you would call me back. I guess I missed his call because he called shortly after wanting to know if it was one or two cylinders and I'm sorry I have no idea so I called back and got their voicemail which I left a message. On my day off waiting to get my car towed hopefully that they can fix it and I had told them this this morning and it wasn't until I called around 4:00 because I knew they would be closing soon that the gentleman who answered the phone said they don't give quotes over the phone and I proceeded to tell him we'll I was getting one from a gentleman I spoke to and he said no because they don't do quotes on catalytic converters then he asked you I spoke to and I told him I didn't remember the name once they had this figured out Adam who is the one I originally spoke to got on the phone and yes by this time I was a bit frustrated anyways he gets on the phone saying he never responded because he never got the answer he needed from me and I told him that I did call back but got their voicemail left a message and he then told me that they don't listen to their messages till after the office closes and I proceeded to tell him what good does that do if it's a customer who's responding back to a call I guess he didn't like that because he started talking over me which made me want to talk over him. You can see this was going nowhere and by the end of it he said sorry I was too rude and upset and angry of a person that he couldn't help me. All with a smile on his voice. I have to say this was a blessing in disguise because shortly after I did get a call from the second automotive place that I had called with the man profusely apologizing for not calling back sooner that was enough to win me over right there. I'm not a mad angry person I'm just a frustrated customer who wants to get their car fixed. read more

LOVED dealing with this place. Called before AAA dropped my van. They answer the phone with such enthusiasm! which is hilarious and really sets the tone on how to talk to them. Although I did have a lapse in judgement with how hard finding parts are for a 25yr old van are . Regardless made my apologies to Michael and he shrugged it off and took no offense. Victor was the main guy I dealt with and was literally calling me with update and sending pictures without having to be prompt. Called and asked if I was in need of my van before he let his mechanic take a day off a couple of days before Christmas. (I was not and quickly said let that man enjoy his holiday) Honestly just great customer service with competence to tackle the job. We found ACA Automotive because they were AAA affiliated and had great reviews. And, boy, are we glad we did. Our first experience a couple of years ago saved us a quite a bit of money when ACA could do repairs on our older BMW that the dealer had quoted us a huge amount to fix. Since that time, ACA has been our go to spot for regular service on the BMW and also our Dodge van. Recently the Dodge van was having an issue so we took it to ACA. Initially, the work done did not resolve the problem. But ACA took full responsibility for taking the car back in, doing more research and eventually getting the problem resolved. While there were some additional charges, full credit was given for the work already done which lowered the labor costs. Adam keeps in touch with you during the whole process and the final price is always what they quoted. We highly recommend this business and are grateful to have found an auto repair business we can rely on. read more

Amazing service and advice!! It's sad to say that a good mechanic is hard to find. I went to a dealership and they recommended a transmission flush. Adam helped us out and let us know it was not recommended to have that done on a Chevy vehicle. Definitely would not recommend this shop if you'd like to get your car back in a timely manner. After taking a whole day to diagnose my car, I will not be returning. After finally figuring out the issue with my car, they let me know they'd figure out the quote the next day. I chose ACA because I found a great coupon on-line for a smog check (1/2 price!). I had two cars that needed a smog check, and one of those also needed alignment. I found the reception extremely friendly - even my son commented as to how "nice" the people who worked here were. The waiting area was clean, they finished the smog while I waited, and the alignment was done within the time frame promised. They recommended new tires, and gave us a price quote, but were not at all pushy when we declined the purchase for now. The impression I got while I waited for my car was that the people who work here enjoy their jobs, and are happy to be there. That is a good thing! read more

Shady or Incompetent, Neither is Good. Took my truck here for a smog. Been driving it for 6-8 months, had it smogged elsewhere 5 months prior. Decided to buy it from my friend, had to smog it again. Came on a Tuesday, it passed all the tests, but ACA failed it on a visual inspection, told me it was leaking fuel from gas tank. Didn't show me the leak, or advise me to be careful, nothing. "Vic" asked me twice if I had a regular mechanic, which I speculate was to try to sell me on some labor to fix it. I knew it had no gas leak and he stopped when I responded with an irritated "no" and paid for the test and left. I had it towed 15 miles to friend's, who then had a mechanic come look at it. Mechanic said: IT DOESN'T HAVE A LEAK. Brought it back to ACA on Friday. Clerk asked if I had any repairs done. I said I took it back to seller, seller said it was good to go. ACA re-tested it, it passed. I told them ftr I had no repairs done and they just passed a vehicle they failed 3 days earlier. Vic looked at me puzzled, said "that doesn't seem right." No apology for wasting my time and money. read more

Upon paying for my great service I asked if the person was around, unfortunately they were at a call center for ACA but with every employee I spoke with, they truly like their job.
