Please accept my apologies for this very, very, very, inexcusably late review... Late on a Friday my front axle broke on my car and it was towed to ACA by AAA, but it was under warranty with a different mechanic. (I had also lost my wallet that day so it was a GREAT Friday the 13th.) The following Monday Mike called from ACA and from that moment on my life became so much more simple and pleasant. He was responsive, knowledgeable, competent, kind, and understanding of all of the problems with having another mechanic come to get the car. He called me several times to let me know what was going on and went WAY out of his way to help me pay the diagnostic fee since all of my cards were canceled when I lost my wallet. A friend had to pay for me and he sent her an email so she could approve the charge and then he responded with a thank you message for doing something she was asked to do! I will ABSOLUTELY be taking my car there if I ever get it back from the other mechanic (another story for another time...). If I could give it more stars I would. My car was brought here after it had stalled on Saturday while I was driving. Fortunately, being a AAA member- (even though AAA sells cash value life insurance... but that's neither here nor there... what do I know) I was escorted by a tow truck - finish line towing to this establishment. The customer service is bar none. They are ON TOP OF IT, folks! They informed me that my car needed a throttle body service - uh can you dumb it down for this lady here? Still learning! And were prompt in taking care of my precious 2013 Hyundai Sonata. The draw back- was that the diagnostic test was quite steep... $120...? EEEK!!! I understand that businesses do need to make their money though. I do wish they would have told me that my car was in the condition it was in, before proceeding. And I get that I shouldn't have had my car sent here. Wish I could have that $250 for rent to pay right now. Yikes. I had my car for a few days after it being worked on, and then I was given the news that it was dead. So sad. Hindsight is 20/20. my car had a slow leak in the tire, I took it to Mountain View on bellflower Street to have the tire looked at. The technicians at Mountain View told me I had a slow leak because of a nail but I would have to buy two tires at $220 each and that they could not repair the single tire that had a nail. From the greeting at the beginning--warm, friendly, professional--to the conclusion, where Service Advisor Mike Littleton went above and beyond to help me apply a coupon I'd been unable to access on my phone, my experience was stellar. Because I waited on-site about 90 minutes for my car, and because the waiting area is small, I observed multiple customer encounters. Everyone was treated with genuine respect, caring, and interest. Many appeared familiar with A.C.A., always reassuring when it comes to automotive issues. And most importantly, there was so much trust, camaraderie and good will. Mike didn't have to help me access a coupon that saved a considerable amount, and even when I said that it was okay (my phone is old), he insisted on persevering. Took my car to this place to get my AC fixed. I dropped it off sometime around 9am and they said it would take 3 hours, okay cool. So 7 hours later, at 4pm I still haven't heard anything about my car nor the pickup time. So I call asking what's going on and they said they're going to have to keep it for 2 days because whatever malfunctioned and just naming all of these things that's wrong with the car and that's the reason they couldn't fix the AC. the price estimate went from $218 to $650. I was already bummed about having to spend way more money than I already planned but initially it was worth it. So finally 2 days pass and I go to pick my car up and ending up paying almost $700 and when I drive off with my car, the AC stops working in less than 10 minutes! So I call and tell them what's going on and they ask if I can bring it back and I do. Once I go back they say that I need a new condenser fan and that it would cost around $350 for them to put it in if I were to bring my own (that has to be brand new cause they refuse to work with used parts) and $700 if they were to provide one for me. My thing is... first off, when you found out that you needed to keep my car overnight, why wouldn't you contact me and tell me rather than having me wait 7 hours to just call my damn self. Secondly, it's the fact that they were all acting clueless with dumb looks on their faces and just couldn't understand why I was so frustrated. Customer service was horrible. Not one apology was given to me after they scammed me out of $700 just to fix nothing. Then tried to add on another $300-700 to do what they should have done in the first place! On top of that, Adam was saying he can pay for a rental car for me to use while my car is being worked on. Uh thanks but no thanks. If you really want to be useful then just give me back some of my money that you stole from me or use the money that you were going to use from the rental car and put it towards the $700 I dropped! All in all, if they would have told me that it would have taken around $1400 JUST to fix my AC, I would have taken my money elsewhere with a quickness, but of course they knew what they were doing and I was dumb enough to fall into the trap smh NEVER AGAIN. My 2009 Prius' mechanical engine water pump was failing and leaking coolant, which was expected since my odometer just hit 122,000 miles (common failure in the Gen 2 Prius at this age and mileage). I brought my car in and they fixed it same day. The pump is working great and the price was way better than the dealer. It's wonderful having a hybrid certified shop so close with great pricing. Brought my car here twice, both for a smog check. My second time around was during Covid19 and I appreciated the fact that they had a section for clean pens, and pens that needed cleaning. Everyone was friendly and my car was done in the time they said it would be. Do yourself a favor and go on their website and print out their smog check coupon. You'll save money! I realized that I had to get a smog check on the morning I went online to renew my car registration. I called 3 local smog places and had been a little skeptical when they all gave me very different prices and sounded a little shady. But THEN I called ACA Automotive. Today I brought my car in for a smog check. This is the first time I have brought my own car. We have had my wife's car serviced here for many years and have always been satisfied customers. The staff is friendly and efficient and very customer service oriented. Today I put that to the test. The smog check was done fast and efficient. Couldn't beat the price with a coupon. I picked up my car and went home. Upon inspection under the hood at home I found what i thought was a missing piece. I went back to the shop and the mechanic who had done the work inspected the car with me. He explained what he had done and that the part I claimed was missing was never touched by him. He explained all this very pleasantly and took the time to explain the process involved. He even let me check the shop with permission of the manager. Although he was very explicit as to why he could not have lost the part I was still not satisfied and asked to speak to the supervisor. The supervisor was just as helpful and pleasant. He listened to my complaint and then took all the time to once again explain why I was wrong. Both gentlemen listen to me very attentively and took my issue seriously. In the end after more discussion with the supervisor I realized I was wrong and there was no missing part. This customer service is great. Both gentlemen listened attentively to my complaint, maintained their composure with an unhappy client and in the end found a solution even when they knew the customer was wrong. WAS a returning customer until now! Although, I may only be a drop in the bucket of customers and the lost of my business at this establishment will not affect this over glorified what I now know to be a "wolf in sheeps clothing" of a business, thus my review will be honest to the fullest. I've used their services 3 times prior over the last year and was happy with the first 2 services and on the 3rd was 50/50 satisfied with the service because I had a radiator changed on one of my other vehicles for $900 and the coolant wasn't even topped off, it was present but not topped off. Right then and there I started getting the questionable vibe. I had 2 failed smogs from a different smog testing facility and I decided to trust my vehicle with ACA to find the problem. I provided literature from the other facility on possibilities of why it was failing. I was told they wouldn't accept it but they would have to retest it themselves which was $80 and an additional $120 to diagnose the problem.... $200 just to look at it! I did inform them to take a look at the EGR system because that was 1 of 3 possibilities listed for failure. Anywho, I get a call later in the day that it failed smog and I was like, "yes, I know that"... well they couldn't diagnose it til the next day. I get a call the next day and then Adam straight out tells me, "I would like to let you know, you need a NEW engine". I was left stunned with my jaw hitting the floor for a good 30secs before I could say anything! Apparently the reason they said so was that they removed my spark plugs and claimed that 2 of 8 had oil present, I expressed that I myself had changed them 3 days prior and not even the old ones of 2.5yrs that I just removed and that are still located in the trunk do NOT even have signs of oil present on them, I told them I'll pick my car up ASAP. I left work to pick it up and when I arrived, Adam still claimed their was massive smoke coming out the tailpipe and he himself had see the oil present on the 2 spark plugs. I asked if the EGR valve was even looked at and he stated no, you definitely need a new engine. Needless to say, I decided to get the work done myself... ordered the OEM online (EGR valve and solenoid) and swapped them out once they arrived. Low and behold, it PASSES at the first smog station where I failed twice!! So a long story coming to a close end... returned to ACA to get a free retest within 15 days so they could verify it themselves that a whole new engine wasn't necessary but a mere $100 in parts. Trying to get my money back ONLY because it was a complete false diagnosis and a waste of my time and lost wages having to leave work. I'm supposedly waiting for a call from corporate to discuss this matter, but now I see on Yelp... Adam is owner and I'm thinking to myself he was present the whole time. This review is my own experience and I'm sorry to say my trust with ACA was lost over a smog. read more

I got my smog test done at ACA for the first time -- I loved the discount that I could purchase in advance. The staff was super friendly (both on the phone when I called in advance and in person). They even gave me a wet wipe to disinfect my steering wheel and car once I left. Friendly but not affordable. I came here knowing I needed my brakes replaced. They informed me that it would be an hour to perform the inspection and they would get back to me, the inspection itself was $35.00. They called me two hours later to inform me that the rear rotors needed complete replacement as well as the pads. I was told it would be $575.00, if I wanted the cheaper parts approximately $30 less. I know what the work consist of and to be honest it seemed high for what it was. So I told them I would call them back, and see if this was a fair price. Calling around, I confirmed my suspicions and found somewhere that I knew would be cheaper. Also, ACA only warranted the rotors for one year, and the other business I went to gave me a lifetime warranty on the parts, plus they did not charge to inspect my breaks either. Maybe it is due to their size, and overhead why the labor was so much more here but I saved $170 going somewhere else, and it only took 40 minutes at the other place instead of the 3 hours I was quoted originally to get the work done. So would I come here again, nope. Shop around people... Also, lots of places offer FREE INSPECTIONS instead of being charged. read more

I was fascinated by all the certificates on the wall and lots of people taking their car to this place. I was dead wrong. 1. They advertise free check engine light diagnostic. False, they charged me for it. 2. They change some parts and changed me $460 and still check engine light is on. 3. then quoted me $2200 to replace fuel injectors to fix the check engine symptom. I went in for squeaky brakes and they were honest and said they didn't need replacing. Very nice to have a mechanic that tells the truth. This place runs like a fine-tuned machine, but I have to say, they were less than honest with me. They told me my brake inspection was free. When I asked about the charge they told me "that's with brake repairs". My brake fluid was flushed and filled. Does that not count as a brake repair? It doesn't say anywhere on this yelp page or in the link that you are sent that the "free" inspection is contingent on repairs. When I balked at the price of a new coolant reservoir replacement (because I found a shop that quoted me over $100 less), Victor told me that they were going to "flush my entire coolant system" and that I was comparing "apple to oranges". My invoice says the coolant was drained and filled. No mention of flushing. Everyone is nice here, in fact, they're pretty slick. I'm a salesperson and I know all about promotions and discounts and how they work to the company's advantage while giving the impression that the customer is saving money. They gave me $50 off for being an AAA member, but that really amounted to $15 at the end of the day. I just lost my job, so every penny counts right now. Don't be afraid to ask questions if something doesn't seem right. read more

My experience at this establishment has been horrific and ridiculous. I've received passive aggressive / sarcastic customer service from pretty much every associate I have interacted with here. I felt completely grifted by these people and they have been stringing me along for weeks. I was told my car would be prioritized because I was back to get my check engine light tested, after I had just left their shop and dropped almost $1000 into my vehicle already. When dropping my car off I was asked if I could leave my vehicle for a "bit". I said yes and went on about my day. Almost 4 hours later I called and asked about my car and Victor, the sarcastic associate that helped me earlier told me they were keeping it over night and that they haven't even looked at it, like I should have just known?? Like I was a nuisance?? Don't these people understand this is our mode of transportation, this information is pertinent to the functionality of our lives? If I hadn't called they wouldn't have even told me anything, I just wouldn't have had a car. For priding themselves on customer service I felt like they are either completely full of it and stringing everyone along, or they are overwhelmed because they are operating outside of their means. Either way they will never get another dime from me, my family, or friends. Be careful at this establishment, they are over priced and I feel they lack integrity.
