We have eaten here several times and most have been quite good. Last night was a disaster. Checked in at the desk and the woman there easily found my Open Table reservation. She showed us to a nice table. We ordered and our starters arrived. The restaurant sent an extra starter which was not ours and we informed the person who brought it to us. The restaurant sent it back to us and said it was 'on the house'. Our main dish never arrived. At one point, we were told our main dish was delayed but coming out. It never arrived. We finally just asked for our check without eating the main dish as we had concert tickets that evening. At no point did our server or the maitre 'd come over and apologize. We paid the check and left. To add insult to injury, I received an email from Open Table telling me I had never shown up for my reservation at Acadia. 1 star -- Overpriced, undersized, and the bill didn't match the menu Went here for a casual dinner with a friend and left appalled. This place is not upscale -- it just charges like it is. We started with the Mezze dip trio, which came with one piece of bread that wasn't nearly enough. We ordered extra bread -- turned out to cost $7 for a single piece. Then we waited about 30 minutes for entrees. I ordered the beef kofta skewer for $39, expecting a solid portion for that price. What arrived was one small skewer, a small mound of rice pilaf, and a single long pepper. That's it. Not close to worth $39, even by NYC standards. My friend ordered the spaghetti, listed at $23 on the menu. We later found out there were actually two sizes offered at $23 and $33 -- but somehow we got charged $34, a price that wasn't even one of the options. Drinks were its own disaster: an 8oz bottle of Diet Coke was $8, and a cocktail I ordered rang up at $23. Food was average at best, service was slow, and the bill didn't line up with what was actually on the menu. Do yourself a favor and skip this one if you want a good meal for a fair price. We are staying at the Hilton Club, The Quin New York and just after 3:00 PM, we decided to grab a quick bite. This Mediterranean restaurant is accessible by street and by the Quin's lobby. When we entered we asked for a table for two and were politely told that the dining room was closed; however would we like a seat at the bar and YES we did. We were greeted warmly by the bartender and she brought us menus right away and offered water service. As we weren't STARVING but still wanted some food; we opted for (from their Happy Hour menu) to share a burger and fries and ordered an appetizer of the labneh. The burger was tasty and cooked just right. The fries hot and crispy and the labneh was fresh and delicious. You could tell she was uncomfortable. As was I, so I canceled my dinner order to leave. Really happy to be writing this follow up review. Finally got back to Acadia and so glad we did. Four of us had dinner mid-week. We were seated in Pren's area - the same waiter I had last time. We were celebrating and Acadia was the right place to do so. We started off with cocktails and six mezze, each one delicious and memorable. We followed with tableside prepared hummus which was beyond fabulous; the tahini shined through and the warm whole chickpeas added to the creamy hummus were delectable. Switching to a lovely bottle of Burgundy red, we enjoyed the sizzling garlic shrimp, kale salad (the chef softens the kale somehow) and the peach, tomato and parm crisps were perfect accompaniments. The chicken skewer was really tasty and the salmon was a crowd pleaser. And, of course, we had to add a side of crispy French fries. Finally, the house provided a Silan dessert in honor of my sister and BIL's 50th Anniversary which was unique (at least for us) and totally wonderful. Pren's service - and that of his co-workers - was attentive, helpful and not overbearing in the least. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, energetic when full but not so much as to hinder conversation. Thanks also to Alon for stopping by to check on us. We started with the Mezze, which had muhammara, spicy feta, and baba ganoush. The flatbread that came with it was huge! Our favorite from the Mezze was definitely the muhammara. Such a beautifully designed space. Luckily the food is just good. Came for lunch with a coworker and had the pre fix lunch special. For $35 you get 2 courses. We started with the Israeli Chopped Salad and Creamy Hummus which came with a homemade bread. Both items were great and so fresh. We followed up with the Marinated Chicken Skewer (mine - delicious) and Seared Salmon Skewer. Its a lot of food and you will leave full. Cocktails were also on point. My only issue was the service. We'd been sitting at our table for a while before anyone ever approached us. The server was nice, but hard to find from time to time. An older woman who seemed to be a regular ended up being sat by us and the manager kept coming over to talk to her and the way the tables were situated he kept bumping into us and hovering over us. We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at Acadia tonight. There were 4 us. Our meal was one of the best meals that I have had in a long time. The service was terrific. Our waiter, Prem was friendly, attentive, and helpful. We had 6 mezza's and bread that were excellent, as was the hummus. We then shared the sizzling shrimp, kale salad, chicken kabobs, and salmon. We enjoyed everything. To top off the meal Prem brought out a complementary dessert of Silan. It was one in the best desserts I have ever eaten. The owner came to our table twice to check on us and make recommendations. The restaurant is very nicely appointed. The noise level was a bit loud but we could hear each other. I came here for last Sunday because my father was staying in the Hilton upstairs. It was restaurant week and my sister and I were excited to try something new. I walked in thru the side entrance between the hotel and the bar and requested a menu to review with my party 3 adults and a 3 year old. We agreed to pick a place that would have something for the baby and the fact that I suggested this place was an absolute disaster. They brought out the babies food after everyone had eaten I could tell by the look on their faces and the body language that they mistakenly forgot to put in the order. I felt so freaking bad. The baby started getting upset when all the food was out like understandable little man. Things that did go well were- the table side drink service. Amazing, fantastic but they did it behind us and I had to get up in the booth and turn around on my knees to see the actual tables service. The drink tasted spectacular and I was glad for my choice. 5/5 The appetizers were all great we ordered three from the menu: latkas with smoked salmon, eggplant croquettes and Moroccan cigar I would give all 3 appetizers 5/5. I enjoyed each equally. My dad and I both ordered the lamb and one of us was happy and the other was sad. I don't know what I was expecting but I will say it smelled amazing when the food came out. I am not sure if it was the fattiness of the lamb or the style of preparation but it was not my cup of tea- it wasn't giving crispy roasted lamb 2/5. We were all very stuffed for dessert and it was difficult to decide for me as I didn't prefer either of the options panna cotta or cheese cake with blue berry compote. I tried the first and found that vanilla flan (panna cotta) texture is something I am not crazy about; however presented with different crunch factors and the strawberry compote... I rate it a 3/5. I made me wish they had different flavor options. So I definitely tried many new things mission accomplished there. Parking is scarce, the interior is dimly lit and the space was well managed. The bar was clean and the drinks were fantastic. I would not recommend you bring a baby as the food options are limited. The service kind of ebbed and flowed with the needs of our party clearly trying to make it happen despite the rambunctious baby we had in our hands. We visited on our recent trip to NYC. We ordered the bread plate, Mediterranean experience, and yogurt. Food was flavorful and reminiscent of my time in Israel, our hope in choosing Acadia. The bread basket sampler (Challah bread, muffin and cornbread was delicious. We didn't care for the croissant.) The Mediterranean experience platter was wonderful, poached eggs and salad for breakfast... just as I remembered! The yogurt and granola was probably the best I've had since Israel. Acadia truly exceeded my expectations! This place has a creative Mediterranean menu and every single item we ordered did not disappoint. We began with the Bittersweet Spritz to drink, which may just be one of my new favorite cocktails. To eat, I suggest ordering a bunch of different items to split. The Mezzes are a must and their delicious flatbread compliments the dips well. The Challah Parker roll is also a great addition. We loved the Beets, Falafel, and Hummus (which is plated tableside). My favorite item of the evening was the Leek Ravioli, which truly stood out and was so flavorful. For dessert, the Warm Chocolate Lava Cake was a hit, and we liked the Cheesecake Parfait as well. I visited Acadia yesterday and my experience was very meh. I popped in because I had many a great brunches at The Wayfarer, which was the restaurant that use to be in this space. The food itself was fine. I ordered a Niçoise salad and a couple of glasses of wine. The salad wasn't served in the classic French style, but more of a Mediterranean presentation, with cubed vegetables arranged separately on the plate. Overall, it served its purpose and the labneh potatoes were delicious. All this being said, it wouldn't have mattered that I spent $100 on the brunch, as I specifically chose this place because it's a nicer brunch option in the neighborhood. What I did not expect was the hostess's behavior. At some point, I noticed that she was watching me, which I initially ignored. But when another Staff walked over to her, she actually said it out loud... enough for me to hear her from the bar. The bartender serving me was pretty nice and attentive, and the food was nothing to actually complain about, but that hostess made me feel extremely uncomfortable and ultimately overshadowed the rest of the visit. read more

Thankfully, QI across the Avenue was not seating yet and on our way elsewhere, we looked up and saw Acadia smack in the intersection of 6th & 57th Streets. Loved the décor and ample lighting, after all it was 4:30 pm on a Tuesday and I dislike sitting in a dim space when it is still bright outside. Clean, playful, open air kitchen...reminded me of K'Far in the Hoxton with it's peach, lime and gold colorings. Beautiful bar, friendly server. Very unique cocktail list, I completely enjoyed the Acadia Sour, a decadent mix of Orange Vodka & Arak. My friend loved her refreshing Jaffa GNT served in a fancy globe glass with a robust citrus garnish. We really were not very hungry and ordered the Olives on the Mezze list and the Sizzling Garlic Shrimp which were phenomenal. The dinner menu begins at 5pm and was interesting and fairly priced. While at the bar we watched one of the men creating special round Cherry Brandy ice balls for their Acadia Old Fashioned. I know what I am ordering next time ! Delicious Mediterranean fusion place. The interior and ambiance is romantic, perfect for a dinner date or charming place to catch up with friends. We ordered: 1. Four cheese sambusak 2. Marinated black cod 3. Crispy roasted lamb with freekeh I wasn't as impressed with the sambusak. While it's delicious, it just tasted like fancier mozzarella sticks. The marinated black cod is delicious, cooked to perfection. However, the dish overall felt mismatched - the marinated citrus was a bit off putting and the radish has a strange texture. Our favorite dish was the crispy roasted lamb. I've never had Freekeh as a grain before and now I'm obsessed. The portion size is generous, you can easily share the dish with two people and add an appetizer. The service is great - attentive and friendly staff. Came for dinner as a group of 4 and had a nice meal. The ambiance is nice and the service was friendly and attentive. They switched our plates and utensils out in between courses. We ordered the hummus, sizzling shrimp, tuna ceviche, fried artichokes, parker roll, greek salad, leek ravioli, beef kofta terra cotta, braised oxtail pasta (special) and black cod. We left feeling quite full. The highlights were the parker roll, beef kofta terra cotta and black cod. I went here with two others rather recently. Shoutouts first go to our excellent waiter and if the review was only based on him, I'd probably be giving this place a 4.5 or something. He gave good recommendations, was funny, and was prompt when it came to anything that was needed at the table. Anyway, while this spot is technically the sister restaurant of the Israeli spot Dagon, this restaurant feels more like a hybrid of Dagon and Barbounia. The music is way too loud like the latter restaurant (but luckily not deafening like Barbounia,) the lighting is a bit dim, and the average age of the people here is a good amount younger compared to Dagon. The menu is very similar to Dagon but I would say that at least some of the dishes we ordered were imitations and not as good as the other spot. To drink I had the Levantine Espresso Martini for $18 with cardamom infused vanilla vodka, tiger stripe espresso, lucano caffé, hazelnut, and Turkish delight essence which was slightly sweet and slightly boozy with good coffee flavor. It was tasty. Another person had the Sabra Margarita which I tried a bit of (spicy with a hint of citrus) and the last person had some wine. A lot of the people there were ordering the gimmicky but fun tableside hummus but instead, we first started with three of the mezze for $31 (they can also be ordered individually for usually around $12 each outside of the cheaper olives.) Said bread came with a tasty piece of flatbread which was warm and had a good amount of za'atar on it. The Eggplant Confit with spicy tomato, cilantro crème fraiche, and shabazi breadcrumbs was less sour than the Dagon one with a better texture though I didn't taste the tomato much. The crème fraiche was a good touch. Just as good as the other spot was the Chicken Liver Mousse with silan, pickled mustard seeds, and baharat. Said silan refers to date syrup so it is a mix of those two. It's sweet and savory and solid. The last was the Labneh with grated tomato and peanut dukkah. Said yogurt was nice and thick with a bit of spice. All were solid overall. My main dish was the Dry Aged Beef Kofta Terra Cotta for $39 with spicy tomato sauce, tahina, Levantine vegetables, and a bread dome which was alright. There wasn't that much beef though it was very tender and the tomato sauce had a light kick to it with a bit of richness presumably from the tahina while the vegetables was just okra (why.) This was pretty similar to Barbounia though theirs by comparison lacks tomato sauce but had a wider variety of vegetables but was also a tad too rich due to the tahini base. Another person got the Crispy Roasted Lamb for $46 with freekeh, walnuts, dates, and marinated cucumber salad which I had a bit of. By comparison to Dagon, this was a good amount worse. I appreciated the freekeh for texture but the wild rice in the other spot was also spiced and added extra complexity and I am pretty positive there was also being walnuts in there for crunch. The lamb also didn't have as many deliciously charred pieces, but I believe there was overall more lamb here than at Dagon. The cucumber salad also tasted a bit less sour and overall, it was just a less flavored version of the one at Dagon. The last person had a special of the day which was Oxtail Pasta (I think fusilli,) with parmesan and also some mascarpone and some spices. I tried a tiny bit and the beef was well flavored and the pasta was properly al dente. I think it was around $38 which was reasonable for the portion size as there was a lot of meat and according to the waiter, it has been popular enough that it seems it might be added to the main menu which I would welcome as this was easily the best dish of the night. We got a side of the Rotisserie Roasted Honey Nut Squash for $16 with smoked muhamarra and labneh which I would not recommend. The squash was alright, but the smoked muhamarra was essentially non-existent and the labneh didn't work well with it. This was basically a much worse version of their labneh mezze, though larger, and I would recommend sticking with the latter. We shared the Silan for $14 with caramel rice crisps, pistachio, almonds, tahini mousse, vanilla sponge, silan, and vanilla ice cream for dessert. The presentation here was different which was appreciated as this dish made a bit too much of a mess at Dagon. It was pretty similar overall and just like the other spot, I would recommend it as long as you're a big fan of halva/halvah. The food here was alright. The best dish of the night was a special which hopefully will be added to the main menu, the mezze were fine, and the dessert was good. If you prefer a more party like atmosphere, go here but if you prefer better food and to be able to talk to people, Dagon is much better. Mid 3 read more

But speaking for the experience itself, I'm so glad our waitress fully owned the mistakes with our orders because that made it much more likely for me to come back. My friend and I both ordered the same thing, Israeli experience with an iced cappuccino. They brought out these huge bowls of Israeli salad and we thought wow how cool that we get such a big serving of this. They had brought out regular cappuccino but we didn't care too much. Then the waitress brought our bill and we were beyond confused? So we explained that we both ordered Israeli experience not Israeli salads (and I mentioned we ordered the iced cappuccinos instead of regular. She was very apologetic and brought our ordered food and new iced cappuccinos even though we didn't drink the hot ones. They didn't charge us for any of the items we didn't order. So because of this I would come back. Service was slow and some peoples food took a long while to come out. The food was good but the smashed potatoes were so hard I didn't even eat them.
