    What a lovely night in Europe, it felt like! We came in for more of a Mediterranean vibe and walked away, feeling like we were in the Swiss Alps. The fondue was exceptional. We got the seasonal cheddar which has cheddar cheese cider and onion jam. It was delectable. The bread baguette was tasty too. Not too stale. For two people we added on the charcuterie, sausages and grapes. But it was so much food already. We really didn't need it. But they were tasty and well cooked. We also got the kale salad with an added chicken skewer. We also feel we didn't need the skewer. The kale was delicious and so was the cheese. Excellent service. Nice interior wood.

    Came here for brunch on a Saturday and was glad I had made a reservation. My friend and I enjoyed our food and the service was friendly and quick. The ambiance was cozy inside and there were some outdoor tables for when weather is nicer. My shakshouka was just ok and was pretty soupy with pouched eggs on top and not eggs that had been pouched in the sauce. Also was a little disappointed it didn't come with bread or pita and instead some potatoes that were oily. My friend really enjoyed her artichoke strata. We both like the appetizer we ordered mini boreks. Overall, I'd recommend this place but skip the shakshouka.

    Came on a chilly winter day to get our fix of fondue, and Kashkaval was the perfect spot! We opted for the $99 meal for two which came with a bottle of wine, an appetizer, fondue, and a choice of dessert. The fondue was so flavorful and bread paired well, we also opted to get the charcuterie to dip in, since it only came with bread. Dessert was an option of 3, and we chose to really dive into the fondue theme by getting the chocolate fondue too. We felt it was a good value for the price!

    Walked in for fondue on a cold, rainy evening and omg this is a gem of a place!! Service was amazing--- the manager was super fun and friendly. Ambiance was very cozy-- it almost felt like we were in a small chalet eating fondue! - Dip set (hummus, tzatziki, baba ganoush, butter squash): 100/10 (great hot pita bread + fantastic dips! I especially adoredddd the tzatziki and butter squash) - Truffle fondue: 100/10 (really great fondue-- you can really taste the truffle flavor. We added on the sausages and veggie platter) I'll definitely be back when I'm craving fondue!

    I came here last night and we decided to go for the $99 Prix Fixe for two. The server was very friendly and considerate, asking us at the start of our meal if we had any time constraints such as a show afterwards, which we did; we had about an hour til we needed to leave, so he said he would talk to the kitchen to make sure things came out fast. The KG Tasting board had a nice variety of tasty items; I actually liked the peppadews more than I expected to and the warm pita was delicious with the hummus. The kale salad was also quite tasty and very large with a nice variety of walnuts, shaved pecorino, and dried figs. We got the Chenin Blanc wine which was very light and refreshing and paired nicely with everything, especially the main course: the fondue! Our server recommended the Kashkaval cheese since we're not huge fans of pungent cheeses. It was flavorful and a fun experience dipping the baguette pieces in the pot. Lastly, we got the baklava which had a nice flaky top. Overall, the food was pretty good, the value of the set menu was great, and the service was phenomenal; even the other server would check in on us and everyone brought a cheerful mood, which really made it a delightful experience to dine here.

    Quiet Sunday brunch with friends and family and this place was not that busy, exactly what we wanted. While their cocktail and beer list was impressive, the draught beer failed to impress with a rather flat finish. Service felt slower, but that gave us the extra time to socialize! Their soup of the day was perfect for our little one, and the tapas & meze were perfect for our table. Nothing that stood out as such, but overall pretty good taste profile. We ordered a few things to share, including Heirloom Tomato Salad ($16), Organic Kale ($16) with King Oyster Mushroom ($10) which was pretty bland. The Shakshuka ($18) looked pretty good though and was polished by our table. The Two Skewers Plate ($24) were ordered were Chicken and Falafel - my hunt for the perfect Falafel still continues (with Naya Express as the unbeaten champion when it comes to Falafel) Fantastic experience overall, and will visit again possibly for brunch!

    This is a "healthy" Mediterranean spot that has been around for a while though it took me a while to show up because I'm not the hugest fan of fondue. The inside felt rustic and the staff was nice. I don't believe I had a drink. For a tl;dr version, the skewers weren't good so stick with the fondue and maybe get a dip or something. I went with the two skewer plate which is normally $24 but was an extra $6 as I got a specialty skewer which came with harissa and tzatziki and a choice of mushroom bulgur or seasonal caponata though they were able to split the two which was nice. My classic choice was the Kofte listed as Colorado lamb with herbs and spices while my specialty skewer was the Marinated Salmon wrapped in grape leaves. The former kofte was okay being pretty flavorful but was overall just a bit dry with the dips being quite necessary to help with the dryness. The salmon was a bit sour being presumably flavored from the grape leaves which were a bit burnt. It was better than the kofte but not by enough that I would recommend it. For the dips, they were alright. The harissa was a tad watery/less spicy than I would like. The tzatziki was standard but standard is better than worse than normal so it was preferred. Speaking of watery, the seasonal caponata was which was presumably from the tomatoes but it had some flavor at least. The mushroom bulgur was alright with not many mushrooms but the texture was decent. Combining everything, it just wasn't a particularly good dish. The portion size was a tad small for the price point, the flavors weren't particularly good even compared to cheaper Mediterranean or Middle Eastern spots, and some stuff was watery. It just wasn't worth it. For other mains, many people got skewers (someone liked the King Oyster Mushroom and someone else liked the Grilled Octopus) and I tried a bit of the Kashkaval Fondue which is $24 without anything to dip in outside of a baguette which was better flavored than the skewers so I guess stick with that and get the assorted veggies or some other dip. Speaking of fondue, the best thing was the dessert which someone else ordered which was the Chocolate Tahini Swirl Fondue for $15 which came with pretzels, apricots, apple, and chocolate chip cookies for dipping. The tahini/sesame flavor was a tad light but I was happy that the chocolate was dark and barely sweetened as it would have been overkill with some of the stuff to dip inside. This was good. While I liked the atmosphere and the staff was nice, I wasn't a huge fan of the food. The skewer plate just wasn't good by comparisons to the fondue not even including the price point. I wouldn't go back.

    For so many years this has been my go to place for a post-opera fondue. It's great if you want something delicious, but don't want something as a heavy as a full on meal. Plus perfectly conducive to wine and chatting. Kashkaval Fondue: While I love the traditional Swiss fondue, I can pretty much get that everywhere fondue is served (or make it at home too). So I go for their eponymous kashkaval cheese. It's got a unique tangier flavor than the cheese version. Ample bread is served, so you won't run out of carbs to soak up all this delicious melted cheese. Charcuterie: It's not a typical charcuterie platter you might imagine, but essentially a bunch of grilled up smoked sausage chunks. And that's actually perfect for dipping into all that cheese. Add even more protein to the protein sauce. I love how the sausage have a bunch of nice spices in them, for extra layers of flavor.

    My friend and I came for a dinner on a Friday night. My friend made a reservation, which was a good call because the tables do fill up pretty quickly by 6:30/7pmish, but they also have bar seating (presumably for walkins). We shared a classic cheese fondue, the Gruyère cheese was delicious and tasted real and sophisticated. I also ordered an Organic Kale salad, which came with a lemon vinaigrette, dried figs, walnuts and pecorino cheese. The portion was very large and filling. Overall we enjoyed our dinner, the ambiance was nice too. Taking off one star just because the food wasn't amazing for the price, I wasn't like wowed.

    David B was an outstanding server. Very friendly and helped make this experience better. Food was pretty good! I enjoyed both the lamb and chicken kebob. The tomato and squash side was good. As well as the walnut pepper starter. Bread came out nice and warm. Also enjoyed the baklava. As for ambiance it was nice enough. Not over the top or super casual. Somewhere in between. You could probably dress up or down here. It wasn't too busy Saturday night.

    The cheese was delicious, perfectly stinky and not too salty. The Veg was not that fresh, I saw brown spots on the cauliflower and the broccoli looked like it hadn't been washed. The grapes with cheese were an interesting combination and I was pleasantly surprised. For the grilled skewers, stick with the chicken. The lamb skewer was dry and tough. The side dishes with the skewers were not very good. Ambiance was cute. I went with 3 others and found that it was challenging to speak with those seated across the table and ended up speaking mostly with my friend directly next to me. Service was fine.

    We tried their $99 prix fix menu ($125 Thu-sun)! It offers 2 appetizers, 1 main course, 1 dessert and an entire wine bottle! We were so full at the end of it. We had a great time, the service was excellent and the vibes were excellent. The place was full even on a Monday night so reservations are highly recommended

The bartenders were attentive in a way that felt almost old fashioned itself, quick to set out a small glass of nuts without a word. My wife and I each ordered an Old Fashioned. We were pleased. They treated the details with care. The glass held a full block of ice. The garnish was proper Luxardo cherries. The result was as satisfying as you could hope for in a hotel bar. If you are staying in the Intercontinental it is certainly worth stopping by for a drink.

We went right around 7pm, and it was completely empty. That actually makes sense since Broadway shows start around then, so it's a great time to hit a bar or restaurant in the area. We sat at the bar. Service was a bit mixed. The bartender we had wasn't very friendly, but we did get our drinks without issue. We ordered a couple of Mexican mules and a martini. The martini was fabulous -- definitely the standout. Unfortunately, the mules were not great. I was also hoping for some specialty or holiday cocktails, but there weren't any. That said, the space itself is beautiful and has a cool, hidden-gem feel. The other staff we interacted with were very nice -- we just happened to get the grumpy bartender. Would I go back? Probably not, but only because there are so many other places in NYC I'd want to try. Still, it's a cool spot (if you can find it).

The bar is not marked by a sign either. What may have been a hidden secret in the past is not so much a secret these days. They take reservations over phone up to one week in advance. There's a number of tables and booth seating, and a few bar seats available for a walk in. The menu of food is pretty decent though lacking in many vegetarian or vegan options. I opted for a grilled cheese sans the bacon and it was good. The grilled cheese has goat cheese in it which may not be for every one. I had an aviation drink and a glass of riesling. The cocktail was pretty standard. The wine was good. Service was generally good and attentive at the bar. The host in the front was kind. It seems like they have a coat check which I did not use. There is one bathroom in the back. The bar is definitely more crowded pre and post theater. It was packed 5pm-7pm but around 7pm, it became noticeably quiet and the bar emptied out. I'd suggest coming here while a show is playing to avoid a crowd. However, even with a packed house, the bar was not loud. Of course, if you prefer a pre or post theater cocktail, I'd recommend a reservation to guarantee entry. While this bar won't be known for its drinks or food, I think much of the allure stems from the location and the reputation for attracting famous clientele. It's a pretty chill place in the midst of crazy Times Square, so I'd definitely come back. While it may attract some tourists (if they find out about it), it generally seemed to cater to the wider New York crowd (I.e Manhattanites but also Westchester folk, Long Islanders, New Jerseyans driving in, etc)

I was immediately blown away by their gorgeous "Frosty" Christmas display including various baubles hanging from the high ceilings, flashing lights and incredible candy cane staircase. We arrived around 4:00 between brunch and dinner, so it was fairly quiet until 5:00 when lots of families arrived. (I think there's a DJ later on as well). My dinner (nicely charred cheeseburger, crispy fries and "Buddy the Elf" cocktail) was yum; especially loved their signature 16 layer cake done up in red and green. You go up the staircase to upper level to the main dining area. It was called Frosty's Christmas Bar inside the Bacall's, and it sure was spectacular. Decoration in every inch of the place, from top to bottom. In addition to that, they had a few photo-op spots, which were really fun too. We ordered some drinks, Meet Me at Bacall's, Espresso Martini, and White Sangria. I liked that they had some blueberries in the Meet Me at Bacall's and the White Sangria. All the drinks were all nice and tasty, and a good portion too. For food, one of us ordered Braised Short Rib, but we somehow received Filet Mignon... Since the server never really came back to check on us, we just had that. It was a nice dish, although it was not what we ordered. Linguini Vongole was nice, the pasta was cooked well, coated in the flavorful sauce. It had a good amount of clams. Steak Frites was tasty. The steak was cooked just the way I wanted, juicy and flavorful. It was a nice sized steak, very filling too. The fries were addictive, went great with the steak. For dessert, I was very interested in their layer cake. I saw a few pictures of it, and looked really good. Bacall's 16 Layer Cream Cake looked different from the pictures I saw, which was all ivory color. The one we received was festive with red and green, perfect for holiday dessert. Unfortunately, it only looked good. Each layer of cake was a bit tough, and not as creamy as I thought it would be. Good thing we also ordered Japanese Cheesecake, because it was quite good. I was very curious what makes it "Japanese" cheesecake. When it arrived, I got it. The cake was round and stacked on top of each other, looks like popular and famous Japanese soufflé pancakes. We had a fun dinner there, with overload of holiday decorations. The atmosphere was perfect to take in the holiday spirit. However, we couldn't say the same for the service. At the beginning, it was ok, but then we felt like we were forgotten by our waiter. The place was not that busy when we visited... He never really came by to check on us, or brough our check. We had to get whoever else around to get our check. When we saw that they already included 20% tip to the check, although there were just three of us, we understood the bad service. If they thought they are going to get 20% tip regardless, then they might think they don't need to provide good service... Bringing the wrong dish, never checking on us, etc. Regardless to say, we were disappointed with the service. But, it was a fun place to go visit during the holiday season.

The restaurant is small, warm, and cozy, with lots of wood accents that give it a classic, old-school vibe. Drinks are solid--I went with a Mexican mule, which hit the spot. For my main, I ordered the beef short rib roast with mashed potatoes. OMG. Incredibly tender and packed with flavor--easily one of the best things I ate in NYC. My buddy ordered the liver. I tried it and thought it was horrible... but he loved it and said it was one of the best he's ever had. To each their own. Our waiter was funny and entertaining, which honestly made the whole experience even better without being over the top. This ended up being one of my favorite meals in New York, and I'll absolutely be back the next time I'm in town again.

Large portions, none of us had an appetizer or dessert. Two criticisms: first, the tables are sort of jammed together, which isn't unusual in Manhattan, but the chairs are somewhat uncomfortable; second, while you can get bread, but you have to ask for it, which at midtown prices, I find a bit cheap. Pricing is typical for the area. The entrees, other than vegetarian, are between $30 to $42, while the appetizers are about a third cheaper. The restaurant is elaborately decorated with beautiful pink flowers and greenery. We sat at the bar. The bartender greeted us and let us know it was happy hour, with $2 off cocktails, beer, and wine. I got their espresso martinis (actually, I got a second one when I finished it cause why not), and my husband got their mule, which had a nice piece of candy, ginger, and a light in it. We were only here for drinks and apps as we had dinner a couple of hours later. We went with the tempura oyster mushroom tacos (they are very mini) and the everything Ttaokboitti. We loved them both so much! The little tacos come with three, but they can add another for an upcharge. We just ordered another batch (they are mini) because they were so delicious. The Ttaokbotti was so so good, and since it reminded me of an elevated mac and cheese, it was my favorite.

About 10 minutes before opening on a Saturday night there were some people waiting for the doors to open. Once we asked for a table, we were asked to step to the side so reservations could be checked in first. Luckily in a few minutes we were offered seats at the bar since they had full reservations that night. The bar was comfortable and the bartenders were great. I loved watching the cocktails being made and speaking of cocktails, they are excellent. The Bool included tequila, pomegranate and jalapeño; the other cocktail was a spritz of sorts and both were fabulous. The menu is Korean tapas, so we ordered a bunch of items to try. As each dish was served the server described the dish and even provided some instructions on the best way to eat it, if applicable. Tuna Tartare was quite good, the knife cuts were a bit inconsistent which was surprising given the level of everything, but the dish was still enjoyable; citrusy with crispy sunchoke chips. Oyster Mushroom Tacos were incredible. It didn't even feel like I was eating mushrooms. The tacos were so falvorful and balanced. If they ask you if you want to add a 4th taco to the dish, definitely say yes. Berkshire Kimchi Fried Rice served with a beautifully runny egg brought the spice and the dish was both elegant and homey at the same time. Just wonderful Birria Mandu served in a bone marrow consume was spectacular. Fried Chicken Wings, we opted for the sweet and spicy version served with kimchi daikon were sublime and addictive. They also provided a wet towel with the dish so you can clean up afterwards. Those 5 dishes were a good amount of food to feel satisfied, but we couldn't stop there and needed to try dessert. Do not pass up the Black Sesame Bread pudding, it was sublime. Served in a sizzling cast iron pan with candied almond slices and ice cream. It was so unique and really really delicious. The whole experience from the hostess to the servers to the food was A+ and I can't wait to go back.
