I am raising my Yelp rating to 5 stars based on tonight's experience, which was much better than the previous visit. Perhaps, since the restaurant was not crowded as last time, service was terrific and the food came out very quickly, once we placed our order. I went with the 5 Spice Pasta with Chicken. The taste becomes more intense if you use the serving spoon and transfer the sauce around the pasta and cut up the strips of blackened chicken into smaller pieces. The French bread is a nice touch to ease the spiciness of the meal between the main bites. We were checked upon more frequently and the check came very quickly compared to the last visit. Everything was very good, especially the soft shell crab dish, which was fresh and had a unique flavor. The hurricanes are on the sweeter side, but seem to have a nice balance of booze and juice. Attentative, prompt and pleasant. We started with Abita beers and gumbo. The gumbo was hearty, tastefully with nice sausage and chicken. Needed a little more rice which Tara brought. Had to ask for more hot sauce as it was too mild fore my taste. It was Friday so I had fried catfish with cajun fries. Big plate of catfish lightly battered, freshly fried hot. Very tasty fries with a light batter. My brother had crawfish etouffee. Hearty, tasty, again added more rice. We had a great meal, great service and would highly recommend. read more

This has been a go to for us. But,something has changed. The 5 pepper soup that we were craving was like a nice velveeta cheese soup with little bit of veggies in it. Maybe we hit the bottom of the pot? We asked twice if the recipe had changed or new cooks perhaps? Before it was a nice red base with a bit of cream or sour cream added before served. First time here and I was excited to try this place after hearing about it. The service was great and quick. We ordered the gator bites app and it was really fresh and flavorful! The sauce that comes with it was a raspberry sauce that was different but paired well with the gator. We got the hurricane drink which was VERY strong, wish it would have had a little more flavor. For entrees I got the crawfish étouffée, it was amazing and packed with flavors! They give you a lot of meat I was happy with my choice. We got a side of cornbread which complimented both dishes well. My girlfriend got the 5 pepper cream with blackened chicken and pappardelle. Which was decent overall, but the sauce was pretty spicy and the chicken was a little dry. Would have been an easy 5 stars other than the drinks and the blackened chicken. My family and I werein the area when we decided to try this place. I was very excited to see they offered Frog legs as an appetizer. We started off with those but was disappointed in the fact they were 2 small sets of frog legs. They were seasoned and cooked nicely but rather small for $14. The boys enjoyed their chicken sandwiches, and my wife enjoyed her Gouda Mac-n-cheese. I really enjoyed my crawfish étouffée. Went to Acadian last Saturday night. I was very happy with the food and the service. Our food took a little while to get but they were busy so I understand. I have grilled Cajun chicken with cheese and avocado. It was very juicy and tasty: the coleslaw that they gave me was amazing !! I enjoyed my meal at Acadian Grille and I thought it was a solid Cajun restaurant. The restaurant itself is a fairly small establishment and I would be careful bringing large groups there on a weekend night. That being said, our group of 4 had no wait at 7pm on a Saturday night. Service was excellent. Good: Value- was solid, it was about $12ish a sandwich. The Po'boys were large and each came with a side. Shrimp Po'Boy and catfish po'boy- Both of these sandwiches were blackened, not fried, and we enjoyed both. They had similar tastes due to the seasoning and I liked the blackened spice quite a bit- spicy, peppery, etc. I think the po'boys both would have eaten a little better if they had dressed it a bit differently- something like a slaw would be awesome. That being said, I still liked it. Mac and Cheese- Our favorite side dish. This wasn't a super special gouda mac and cheese, but it was good. It was smokey and delicious (probably could have been seasoned a bit more though). Boudin Balls- Were pretty decent. These are basically deep fried rice balls with sauce and spices. The rice had some ham and other ingredients in it. Creme Brulee- Pretty good but I couldn't really taste much of the blood orange flavor in the actual pudding itself (though there was some orange on top). Mediocre/Bad: Cajun chips- Were forgettable, don't get these. Basically potato chips with some sauce; I think that these are poor value and would not get them again. Since fries are such a staple in so many American restaurants, I think they would just be better as a side dish. Coleslaw- I liked the flavor but I thought it was a bit too sweet. They changed it a bit from normal coleslaw flavors, though, and added some apples (I think?). This value was also not great (side came in a small dish). banana Fosters- was not really worth it; just a sweetened banana and some ice cream (with a cinnamon butter sauce). Something to soak up the ice cream would be really great with this dish. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Acadian Grille. I'm not sure of how many other Cajun places there are in town, but this one is decent enough. read more

Okay. I love spice. I love flavor. I love good wine. I love jazz. I love good service. I found a place that combines it all into one slice of Cajun beauty. I mean, like, wow!!!! The other reviews said that there was not much to look at on the outside. I mean, it's in a strip mall. But they also said the food was worth waiting for any day of the week. Fortunately, there was no line. The menu is simple, but don't let that fool you because the choices were plentiful. Want a Po Boy??? They have three choices. Shrimp and grits. They have it. Shrimp Étouffée? They have that too. Gator bites? Gouda Mac? You name it, they serve it. They also have this thing called a taco, with fried dough and meat and cheese. It was so good, I forgot to take a picture. What stands out first about this place is the service. Everyone is wonderfully friendly and en pointe. When the food came out, we were blown away. To steal a phrase from Guy On The Food Network, "This place is a one way ticket to Flavortown!" We had the Po Boy and the Étouffée....epic flavor. We really enjoyed our visit to Acadian Grille. My husband enjoys much spicy foods than I do so I appreciated the waitress's assistance at guiding me to the more mild options on the menu. Everything we had was well done and delicous. We started with the gator bites and fig jam, which sounds like an odd combination but it really works. Next I had the shrimp po boy with the spicy sauce on the side. I used it as a dip, so worked well on the side, it would have been too much for me as normally prepared. My husband had a house specialty with a side of the gouda mac. The mac was so good we got an order to go for our daughter who loves macs and cheese. Ended the meal with the house made creme brulee. Service was a little on the slow side, but I'm hopeful they'll work that out over time. Definitely worth a visit! read more

I will preface my review that I am born and raised in Louisiana. I am Cajun. I set the bar quite high when eating Cajun food , especially outside of Louisiana. We just ate here and my heart is singing with delight that Omaha has a delicious Cajun restaurant! We have tried other around town and they are fine and well, but it doesn't hold a candle. The gumbo is more of a southwest Louisiana than southeast Louisiana (if you're from there this will make sense), which personally I think is better! The blackened shrimp poboy was delicious. My husband said the shrimp and grits was really good and the crispy Tasso is such a treat. We also enjoyed the scalloped cakes. Everything was seasoned perfectly - not overly salty and lots of spice. The wife and I decided to try the Acadian Grill, a quaint Louisiana Cajun resturaunt in the miracle hills area. When we arrived the place didn't look like much.... Kinda like a grill would look like, but when we looked over the menu there were so many fantastic options to choose from, it was difficult to avidly make a selection. Started with the scallop cakes as an appetizer and they were superb... Light, flaky and flavorful, with a nice sauce to compliment the dish. For our entrees, the wife had the five pepper pasta with blackened catfish, and I had the jambalaya and D beans and rice. I also had a Louisiana Abita Andy Gator to drink. All the dishes were a bit spicy, so be prepared, but they were all delicious. The blackened catfish melted in your mouth, the noodles looked homemade, the jambalaya was very flavourful, with lots of goodies in it, and the red beans and rice were quite tasty. If you are looking for a little Cajun Louisiana in omaha, this is the place. By the way, they have great desserts, and a selected flavor of homemade ice cream to finish the meal, if you have the room left. One of my favorite West Omaha lunch spots to meet with my husband. They have great flavors for every dish. I don't love hot hot food, but my husband does and this is the perfect place that packs a punch. He loves the shrimp an grits and I opt either for the sandwich or gouda mac and cheese. I will preface my review that I'm not a huge Cajun/Creole fan to begin with, but also that this place has had enough raving reviews that I wanted to see what the fuss was about. Tucked away on the Davenport strip of stores, Acadian Grille has an unassuming front, but a beautiful interior (see my pictures). Tastefully decorated between modern and comforting. Our server, although nice, seemed maybe either new or a bit unsure of herself. When my hubby and I try new restaurants we usually ask the server for recommendations. He ended up with the Jambalaya and I had the Shrimp and Grits. Both dishes were fantastic! The flavors meshed well together and just the right amount of kick (although if you like no spice, you may need to mention that ahead of time). So why 4 stars? Again, I'm not a huge Cajun fan to start but this was excellent food. We will definitely be back to try a Po Boy and possibly save room for that Bread Pudding! read more

The Patty O'Brien taco was everything I heard it was! Fantastic! I've never had a taco quite like that. I can't wait to stop in for another. I also had the Acadian Burger which comes with andouille, roasted poblano, gouda cheese and then it is topped with onion straws and served with remoulade sauce on the side. Excellent! All of the staff were friendly and accommodating. My son is in a wheelchair and they helped me out in getting him a comfortable spot at the table. We ate dinner at Acadian Grille last night. It was delicious! The restaurant is located in a strip mall. Don't let the location fool you; this place has tasty food. The owner waited on us until the waitress came in. He was nice and personable. We started with a small bowl of gumbo and boudin balls. Both were delicious. The gumbo had plenty of andouille sausage and chicken in it. Many restaurants go light on the andouille. We ordered the blackened catfish which came with a salad. We split the meal and it was good sized portion. The fish was served on a bed of dirty rice. Wonderful! The fish and rice had really good flavor. We ended the meal with bread pudding. Oh my! It was delicious and huge. Even splitting, we couldn't eat the whole serving. We don't live in Omaha but we come up fairly often. Acadian Grille is definitely on the list. read more

We loved the array of Abita beer selection and the dinner prices were fair. Everything had a sprinkle of NOLA - not the debauchery of Bourbon Street, but a slow down and immerse yourself in the experience kind of feeling. We had to buy a cooler for the leftovers because there's no way we're throwing out the leftovers. Location is odd - you want more from the atmosphere - like a lounge and bar and Insta-filter lighting but the food is so foxing good you'd sit on the floor if you had to...you come for the food to feed the soul, not the aesthetics. Best shrimp and grits I've had in my entire life, holy cow.i would say order extra grits because it's so good I just wanted to keep eating the grits without the toppings (which were delicious too, don't get me wrong). Before long I had toppings left but no more grits! I had bread pudding for dessert the portion is huge. It is easily shareable for 2 people, or for 3 people who are already mostly full. The thing I didn't like is that their Fling premade canned cocktails, which are at the MOST, 10% alcohol, were $7. I can't believe this restaurant was so close and it took us so long to try it. We got the frog legs as an appetizer. We wanted to try both the blackened and fried so we did half and half. Hands down the best frog legs I've ever had, and it came with a delightful salad AND corn bread (both were delicious). I got a side salad with their house made Cajun honey mustard. Very yummy. We also got the blackened shrimp po boy and the fried catfish platter. The po boy was good but the catfish was absolutely perfect, you really can't get better than that. Let me start off with this: This place is fabulous! It's tucked in the strip mall at 114th, north of Dodge. Went yesterday with a friend of mine for lunch. Started off with the Boudin Balls. Highly recommend starting with these. A little spicy, super crunchy, nice and piping hot! These are the best in town, hands down. We both had the gouda mac with with smoked tasso pork shoulder. Not sure what tasso pork shoulder is but you could find it in the dictionary under "little nuggets of heaven". Great dish, very creamy sauce and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The pick 2 lunch menu also had us trying the traditional gumbo. Again, knocked it out of the park! Nice chunks of chicken and sausage in a perfectly seasoned sauce. I urged my partner to try this place because I read the reviews...mistake! It's our 1st and definitely the LAST. Keegan (our server) told us to choose our table, we decided to take a smaller table since it's just two of us, the other tables are occupied anyway. The table was dirty, so we waited. Keegan once again told us to choose a table, we said "we did, but it's dirty". He wiped the table, I had to grab some napkins to wipe the chairs. We only had a minute or two to check the menu, when he came back to ask if we're ready to order. I asked for a few minutes, he decided that's his cue ... he told us about their "special for the day" I asked for a few more minutes. He asked what do we want for drinks. My partner ordered iced tea, I asked for coke - light on ice. Keegan said the machine is broken, but when he checked, he said it got fixed, then he gave me a glass of coke almost filled with ice I ordered The Black Cat, my partner ordered the Smoked Chicken Thighs...the Chicken is black, and it's not because of the spices! My fish was ok. The price of the chicken on the menu is $14, they charged us $16.50 (we can afford to pay - it's the principle). Also, we felt rushed. I had the pleasure of stopping in this past week. The atmosphere was very welcoming and the service was outstanding. As I was reading the menu, I felt like I wanted to sample almost everything on the menu. When the food came out I was impressed by the amount on my plate and its presentation. Once I gave God thanks for the meal, I jumped right in and I felt like I just walked into a famous New Orleans Cajun restaurant which happen to be in Omaha, and that was Heaven to me. They definitely knocked it out of the park. If you're ever in Omaha, this is a great place to get your tummy overly satisfied. Once you're done with the main meal, make sure to get some of their homemade ice cream. The Blueberry was my favorite but you can't go wrong with any of the flavors.
