The original Acadiana Cafe, off Marbach road, was an iconic place to eat for over 20 years. We visited in 2024, the last week it was in business, prior to closing down to what appeared for good. I recently saw that the Acadiana Cafe resurfaced itself, but now at the 113 year old Historic La Coste Hotel near Castroville. It offers a similar Cajun flair menu, but with a twist to the dinning experience. An open bar, a few tables for inside dinning and an outdoor picnic table seating for dinner time meals. Cooking is done in the parked Streamline trailer outside to give that true food truck like experience. Outdoor Live music playing on some nights and it appears to have a relaxed vibe to wind down the day. Goals for a weekend dinner. For today's lunch, I went with the Jambalaya and it had plenty of flavor and spice, while it brought me back to the original taste that I remember so well. Gotta do the biscuits, too to help you go down for an afternoon country nap. Like many small towns, the service was super friendly and we felt right at home even though you order at the bar and then wait to be served.

The food and service were good just like I was at the original Acadia Restaurant in San Antonio. I love the atmosphere and down home decor/setup. But, no military discount as it used to be at the original restaurant- Military City USA.

I was a bit disappointed by this restaurant reincarnated. The food is fine, what we ordered tasted good. But being a regular at the San Antonio version of Acadiana Cafe that closed I felt a bit cheated by the new La Coste version. It is no longer a cajun restaurant. The only Cajun dishes I saw available were the M-F daily lunch specials. Now more an Americana cafe. And it's interesting to visit. You enter into the La Coste Hotel bar, and order food at the bar. Then find a table (inside or out). The bartender takes your order ticket to a food trailer outside, then brings you a beeper and your drink order. Once your beeper goes off you need to go out back to the food trailer to pick up your order. The ruben sandwich ok, kinda thin but everything present. The chicken fried steak fingers were good, but had small pieces of beef inside thick breading. All tasted ok, well cooked and seasoned. Just was hoping for some étouffée and fried okra. I understand different owners than the San Antonio version, so maybe in the future might get its cajun mojo back.

This review is only for the customer service. I live over an hour and 15 minutes away. I called to ask if they are open whoever answered the phone said yes and gave me the times. I get in the car and drive there to find out that they have a private event. The restaurant is closed for this specific event. It was upsetting having to drive all this way. The building itself is historical. It looks like a really cute place for a dining experience. Also another sad news is they do not offer crawfish anymore. My trips to the old Acadiana were specifically to eat crawfish! What a bummer!

Food was amazing, definitely will be back! Such a welcoming atmosphere and great people, must try the chicken fried steak!

I had been a patron of the original location in San Antonio for decades so was really excited to see the new place. The menu is pared down from the original because this is a smaller location but the food was excellent! I was told that they are slowly expanding and adding to the menu. The cajun nachos, sausage & chicken gumbo and the pastrami sandwich were excellent.... But please bing the cornbread back!!

Catfish was excellent! Red beans & rice on point & fresh homemade lemonade was the best! Great meal!

Food was delicious. I had the crawfish etouffée which is always my go to here at Acadiana. It never disappoints.

Saw a lot of bragging about the burger and decided to challenge that lol we parked and were walking up to the door and were immediately greeted. Even opened the door for us. We were asked if it was our first time and when we said yes we got the run down on the specials and how the drinks work. Everyone was super nice and attentive. Our waiter was on point. We felt so welcome. I got a cheeseburger double, my son got a hamburger and his mom got a ribeye sandwich they had on special. We all loved every bite. And the basket of hand cut fries topped it off. This food was delicious. So worth the trip. It stayed busy while we were there. And I see why. The atmosphere was very welcoming because the staff was. Seemed like everyone was enjoying themselves just being here. This place is pretty out the way but if I'm ever near Fredericksburg again I'll 100% return.

They aren't fast and as folks trickled in we watched some folks get way too upset at the wait, but good food takes some time. The burger is very good. I had the Cover Burger (featured on the cover of TX Monthly) and added a patty, which they had no issue with, and they even suggested I try their burger challenge if I was REALLY hungry. I may, or may not, have agreed to give it a try some time. Only been once but we swore it was one worth going back to! Oh, sweet potato waffle fries...fan-freaking-tastic.

The chicken was crispy, the bacon was cooked just right, and everything came out hot and fresh. The fried pickle spears were crispy on the outside and went great with the ranch. We also had a root beer and a whiskey/Diet Coke to go with everything. Really good little stop after a day at the river--casual, filling, and tasty. We'd definitely stop at Bent Rim Grill again next time we're out that way.

When the guy behind the register read back the order to me, just from that, I absolutely knew I created a masterpiece. Luckily, the guy in the kitchen brought it life just as I imagined it! Absolute must: the sourdough jalapeno cheese bun. Really, every bite I thought, oh this really is a tasty bun. Two, count 'em two, patties, American cheese, bacon, and their own sauce. Man, so freaking good. Call this burger The Beast and get it on the board, baby! Had the sweet potato waffle fries, the onion rings, and the tots, and I would rate them just in that order. For a July day in TX we got super lucky and it was 80° so we sat outside (which I normally despise) and it was perfect. Could have spent the whole afternoon there!
