Great food, great people, great atmosphere. Would highly recommend the trip, and very accommodating of our group. Thank you Alamo spring cafe for hosting the San Antonio chapter of the Cadillac V-Club.

A decadent and delish dive next to the state park. We went to see the giant bat feeding and found this little spot with live music blasting. We came late because the bats, but they are open late on Friday and Saturday for the summer. Lucky us. The fried mushrooms were plentiful and double fried. Their flavorful batter is a standout. I could not believe how tender the sliced ribeye was on their sandwich special. It was mouth waters and messy in the best way. And finally, their cheeseburger, just their standard one, not the Cover Burger, was amazing. A perfect balance of umami, tart pickle, and fresh buns. I can still taste it now. Next time we come see the Batnado at Old Tunnel Park, we will definitely stop by the cafe again.

Very cute eclectic eatery with quality grade ingredients & very close to our cabin. The reason for 4 stars vs 5 is because the fries are sub par & our young waitress forgot about us on the patio which sometimes tends to happen. We ordered the portobello mushroom sandwich on pumpernickel rye bread & I added a slice of Monterey cheese & it had just the right amount of carmalized onions. Hubs got an ole fashioned hamburger & the meat patty was thick of good quality & flavored perfectly. We also ordered the frings (onion rings/fries) the o rings were fantastic but the fries were slightly below average as the seemed both overcooked & not fresh like the rings. When we put in our order, we also told our waitress, Indeara that we would like the fried pb&j to go. Once we were done with our meal we waiting about 15 minutes for her to come out & offer us boxes but my husband needed up having to go inside & she then came out with boxes & I asked her if the dessert was ready to take & she said, "I forgot" we said okay, it happens, paid out tab still left her a decent tip. Highly recommend their avocado ranch which has actual chunks of avocado which does change the taste of the ranch. I'm already craving that mushroom sandwich again- left a lasting linger on my taste buds!

Frings - some of the fries and onion rings were gone! It was served hot and fresh from the fryer! Delicious!

First of all, this burger place was closed for a few months and pretty much gave up on seeing this place ever open again. However, a minor miracle happened - a few dedicated people wanted to get this place reopened. A few weeks ago, they had a soft opening and from what I saw today, it seems like they have ironed out most of the kinks. On a Saturday afternoon, we decided to eat here after walking around the Trade Days in Fredericksburg. The last time we were here was the pre-pandemic March 2020. I'm so glad they are back in business. As for the food, the burgers are still huge and delicious. They have a menu item called Frings, half onion rings and half French fries. It can feed 2 people. Personally, the burger was huge and could barely finish it but I soldiered on. Now, a couple of hours later, I feel very full. No dinner tonight for me. As for the service and ambiance, their servers are very young - like teenagers - enthusiastic and energetic, and willing to get your orders correctly. The place seems brighter and cleaner than our last visit. The tables are new or at least have new tops. Their liquor license is pending so there's no beer sales yet. Overall, I'm definitely coming back here. We'd like for them to stay in business for as long as possible. They deserve to be here and I really feel that if they get enough local and tourist support, they will be in business for a long time.

Alamo Springs Cafe is amazing. Both the onion rings and frence fries were cooked to perfection. The hamburgers had a wonderful flavor and were HUGE. The chili was the best i ha e had in a very long time. If you leave there hungry, you didn't go to the right place!

Always a fun place to stop and grab one of their fabulous burgers, huge onion rings, and icy cold beer. Beautiful drive thru the Hill Country to get to the cafe. The service is always friendly Fun bunch of servers. Certain times, they have live music. Give 'em a try!!

Great burgers, fried pickles & onion rings. Evening was a little chilly so we ate inside but the outside seating area looked inviting maybe next time. Employees were friendly and customer service was excellent.

Great food. Terrible service. 30 minutes+ to be greeted and 45+ to have order taken. Had to ask twice to have our order taken.

Bankersmith takes advantage of that situation in order to scam people to showing up for their "events." We saw an "All you can eat crawfish festival" on VetTix. Signed up and thought we were lucky enough to get 4 tickets for an all you can eat crawfish festival We drive 2 hours to get there. At the door, we are told our tickets are just good for entrance, but the all you can eat crawfish is 40 dollars per person. However they did give us each a free ticket for a sangria. The was no festival. There was a mediocre one man guitar show, but otherwise this was just a dive bar. Admission for a dive bar? No large pot of crawfish anywhere. Seems they were doing HEB crawfish packs in the back. I went back and forth with the lady doing "admission." She seemed kind of upset she was doing this to people. Said she would upgrade our sangria tickets to beer tickets. Immediately after getting past admission, another vet customer came up and asked, "You thought this was on VetTix for all you can eat too?" I said yes. They said they drove for 2.5 hours. They were kinda pissed to. I mean, we are grateful to get free stuff, but when you drive 2+ hours because you think you are getting a great deal and then find out it's a ticket to get into a dive bar... that kinda sucks. So... we went to the bartender and ordered a couple of drafts. We saw the plastic tank of sangria and the tiny glasses they were handing it out in. Glad we we got upgraded to beer. She handed over the beers and we handed over the tickets and she looked confused. She said, "oh... okay." I asked what was wrong. I said the lady at the front said we could upgrade for beers. She then said, "OH. YOU ARE THOSE PEOPLE" really loudly. Way to make people feel welcome. Was planning to tip bigly for the free beers at least, but not after that. We drank our beers quickly and left. It's been a few weeks. Reported to VetTix. Saw they are still doing "all you can eat" festivals of various kinds. do not recommend. p.s. There is a petting zoo for the kids. A few cute animals. Drawback, the outdoor area smells like poo.

The biscuit and gravy was the real star of my meal, so good that I almost wish I had ordered it as my main! Definitely getting that next time. My husband went for The Big Ass Sandwich and loved it. Fair warning- it lives up to its name. It's big, it's messy, and it's absolutely worth it. He said the same thing I was thinking: we need to come back. We'll definitely be returning on our next trip to Fredericksburg. Highly recommend if you're looking for a great breakfast spot with good food and even better service!

They encourage more Formal which is refreshing in a town where most restaurants invite casual. We were on time for our reservation, but waited a few minutes in their small waiting area. The hostess/manager had a bit of a school principal attitude, but overall was pleasant. We were seated in a small room amongst several other tables, but still felt intimate. The lighting is a bit on the dark side, but the candles bring out a great atmosphere. A violinist and cello created a romantic feeling (Enchanted Rock Orchestra Strolling Duo). We started with cocktails, which were crafted beautifully. The menu has old classics as well as innovative ones. For the appetizers, we had the focaccia bread which was delicious as well as the stuffed mushrooms which were delicately made and quite tasty. The wine list is short but encompasses Old world and New World wines. My wife had a Bordeaux while I had a Tuscany blend. Both delicious. For our entrées, we shared the filet mignon with peppercorn sauce with candied brussels sprouts and hand whipped mashed potatoes as sides. The food was surprisingly delicious, well presented and portioned. We truly enjoyed our entrées. For dessert we had the bananas foster cheesecake. Unique, not too sweet, delicious ending. I've visited tiny islands where the locals truly depend on tourism for every dollar of their livelihood, so you can't tell me this restaurant needs to charge for reservations to survive. I've never experienced this anywhere as a frequent traveler! - I respect their strict NO ball caps policy, but it was odd that my husband and I had a large naked Marilyn Monroe portrait on the wall for our main view.
