They changed their menu, and now they have "unlimited toppings" every day instead of just Tuesdays, but many of the topping options are a "premium" upcharge (which I don't love) but at least now I can go whenever I feel like instead of timing my visit specifically for Tuesdays. Prices can really stack up though, so I just stick to the basic toppings. I got a half acai/half coconut sorbet cup with all the fruits and coconut shavings. It's SO good, I highly recommend the coconut sorbet to any coconut fan! The texture and flavor of real açaí here is so amazing, completely a different experience from any of the other açaí places. That makes this my favorite açaí spot I've tried so far in San Diego. The Brazilian bread is super addicting as well!
Finally somewhere with real açaí, not blended with other fruits/milks/juices or overly sweet. Super tasty! Best açaí I've had in San Diego. Very friendly service. Prices are a bit steep but I would say it's worth the splurge. Non-premium toppings are unlimited, so all of these in the photo came with it. So happy to have found this spot.
i'm never inclined to give out reviews but came here for dinner + sweet treat with my boyfriend before we watch the sunset at sunset cliffs and wow. The açaí bowls were amazing, the service was a 10/10. for sure we will be coming again especially after a workout/run as it will be the perfect cool down post workout meal
I had my first taste of acai outside a little fishing town in Brazil in 2010. I've been chasing that experience ever since I finally found it. I've now been to this place five or six times, and they have ruined me for any other açaí bowl outside of Brazil. And to top it off, the staff are true believers. I've only been served by Brazilians, and they all have been great extensions of this company's brand. This place is the real deal and I will be back for much much more..... including the cheese bread!
Gaht damn! I'll never be able to enjoy other açaí spots the same after trying this one. It's truly so much better than that frozen one that's sold everywhere. They have a range of sizes with my go to choice being medium for $15 with 3 toppings and I think it's totally worth it. Service is always fast and friendly too :) There's also a second business inside (cocoplaya bakehouse) that has delicious cookies. Ooh and this location has a big parking lot which is nice to have in this area
This is my go-to Acai spot. I feel most acai places are not comparable and aren't as high quality in variety and presentation. You fill out what you'd like to order on a menu with a marker and give it to the cashier after. I loveeee getting the coconut base with the acai and love that they serve leite ninho (milk powder)! This is authentic Brazillian acai and I personally would not get my acai anywhere else besides from here.
Our new go-to acai joint in SD. The texture and taste beats every other acai place I've ever tried and is closer to the actual acai in Brazil than the mixed berry acai most places serve. So glad we tried and found this place!!! Tried mine with the coconut sorbet (offered as a base) and hemp granola as toppings. The coconut sorbet is gooddddd, It tastes just like coconut milk if thats your jam. Can't wait to go back.
I just discovered Açaí carioca. This ain't your typical frozen açaí it's fresh, rich, and flavorful. You can instantly taste the difference. It's smooth, not icy, and honestly on another level. Everyone is super friendly, welcoming, kind, and helpful. It's also split with a cookie shop, which makes it even more dangerous in the best way possible It was our first time, and since we love to share, we went big and got the XL with tons of toppings. Everything from the fruits to the granola was fresh, crunchy, and perfectly paired. We were definitely in açaí heaven! Highly recommend this spot if you're craving something refreshing, satisfying, and a little indulgent. Already planning our next visit. bring a friend and go big you won't regret it!
Stopped in with some friends for acai bowls after a morning of pickleball! The place was a little hidden at first as it shares the same physical space as a cookie spot so make sure you look carefully for their sign. I liked the way you ordered, using a marker to write on a menu indicating what customizations you'd like. It was a little pricey, but the servings were very dense. I got a size regular but honestly probably would have been just as happy with a mini. The base was very good, but I wish they had included a little more of the toppings. The cheese balls were also pretty good as well. The "art display" they put your order on when it is ready is very cute and a nice touch to make it feel a bit special. A very refreshing snack after a sweaty morning!
I saw this placed featured on a YouTube video about a year ago and put it on my list of places to try. I'm glad I finally got to try it out because it was incredible. It's a hole in the wall spot and there's not much seating. They also share a space with a bakery. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The acai is very customizable and there is a good selection of toppings. I kept it simple and went with almond butter and bananas. I also got an order of cheese bread, which was so good. The acai was really flavorful, but not overly sweet and they were very generous with the toppings.
Delicious premium Brazilian acai with so many toppings! Inside coco playa cookie shop with cute decor. Seating outside as the shop inside is cozy/no seating. The Pão de queijo (cheese bread) was soooo good, cassava flour on point. The acai large had paçoca, strawberries and granola swirled throughout. On the pricier side but can't find acai more authentic just like in Brasil anywhere else. The large was $19, see pic for size with 3 toppings (good for sharing with 2). Additional toppings are $1 extra. On Tuesday's they have a deal on toppings. Parking is easy in the lot. Service is quick and friendly, obrigada!
I had just landed in SD and wanted a refreshing Acai Bowl. This place was super close so I stopped in. The customer service was phenomenal. From the minute I walked in I was greeted and assisted. The bowl is super yummy!! They had very interesting toppings. I was also given a sample of the Brazilian Cheese Bread & WOW! Must go.
So rich and delicious tasting with friendly customer service. The fruit is yummy and fresh tasting they really make your order with care. 10/10

If you're in San Diego and even thinking about getting an açaí bowl, stop what you're doing and go to Acai Carioca. This place is the real deal. The açaí is super fresh, perfectly blended (not icy or watered down), and has that authentic Brazilian flavor you don't always find elsewhere. The toppings are just as impressive with fresh fruit and generous portions all around. Everything tastes clean and natural, not overly sweet or artificial. Service was friendly and quick, and the vibe is laid-back and welcoming. It's the kind of spot you end up coming back to regularly once you try it. Hands down one of the best açaí spots in San Diego. The açaí was smooth, rich, and refreshing, super delicious. I ordered the classic with banana, cacao nibs, and almond butter, all toppings which I highly recommend. We got this as a dessert for our meal at Nico's next door and it was everything we wanted it to be. So fresh and tasty! The guy at the counter was super nice and pushed my order through even though they had already started cleaning up. It's a to-go spot outdoors and it's located next to the beach, so you can enjoy a nice view as you enjoy. The açaí was also served really quickly. I will definitely be coming back this weekend! read more
Acai Carioca is a small kiosk-like place in PB with super kind workers. You fill out a sheet with what you'd want and hand it to the workers. The acai is more watery than I prefer, but it tasted super clean and fresh. I like that you can taste the actual acai, but the texture wasn't my favorite, tasted like grainy and icy almost. read more
Drove right by this place twice because there isn't a sign on the outside indicating where this place was. It wasn't until I saw someone walking out of the shop with the Thicc Bakery sign on top of it and the sign on the inside that said "Healthy Superfood" that I recognized I was in the right place. When I went inside, I remained confused and unsure about whether I was in the right place or not because the menu board... had cookie flavors on it. The display was full of cookies. I looked to my right and there was a couple filling out these laminated menu cards, and I saw the signs that told people to customize your own acai smoothies, which I think is a pretty unique way to order. I was tempted to get the large but stuck with the medium because this was the first time trying this place and I didn't want to be stuck with too much of it if I didn't like it. Plus, it's $18, which is on the high side in terms of pricing. It gets busy around lunch time too. I'm now thinking that maybe I should've gotten the coconut sorbet base instead of the Carioca signature acai blend. It tastes okay, though I do like the peanut butter they use. If it weren't for the fact that I'm recovering from a cold, I think I might like the taste better. I'll try it next time when I feel better. read more
Literally the best açaí in San Diego. The toppings include items you won't find anywhere else. The açai is the best tasting in town. Literally just açaí and honey All you do is fill out a card with what you want and give it to them. Service is always great and they put care into the bowls (they're in cups). read more

This isn't a real açaí bowl -- it's more like an açaí smoothie in a cup. I didn't like it at all. It was $17 for a small portion, and it's hard to mix because it's not served in a bowl. I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

4.5 stars! This is an authentic Brazilian açai place that is a hidden gem in Point Loma (quite literally tucked inside a cookie shop.) The staff were very friendly and helpful in explaining their order process. They take pride in their natural açai base that is sweetened by honey. The large bowl that we got was ginormous! It comes with three free toppings and the rest would be an additional $1. The consistency of the açai was less thick than I usually prefer but nonetheless still good. They have a peanut butter carioca that we liked as well. Also must order-- their pao de queijo! read more

The vibe of this place was cute and the woman making our açaí and taking our order was very sweet and welcoming. As for the food, it just wasn't for me. The açaí tasted a little different then açaí I'm used to, and I wish the toppings were mixed in or we were given a little more considering the price. I've been coming here for a few years now and they have the best quality Açaí in SD! They are always so friendly and have a nice little seating area outside. Pro tip, if you go on Tuesday they have unlimited toppings. It's a little on the expensive side, but you're paying for the quality, many places have Açaí flavored sorbet and this is real authentic Açaí - you can't beat it! I also suggest trying the Brazilian cheese bites while you're there! read more

This is the best açaí I've ever had and my boyfriend's absolute favorite. He is a harsh critic and 100% correct. I love that they layer the toppings rather than just literally on top. Everyone there is always nice and it's fun sitting outside enjoying the açaí. It's very chill. 10/10. read more
For reference - Acai Carioca is inside of "Baked Thicc". We ordered the Carioca Signature. We ordered 2 mediums, you get 3 toppings per. We had 6 toppings per, in total, they did not charge us for any additional toppings. It was absolutely delicious. They had put layers of bananas, strawberries, granola and honey at different layers of the açaí. It was absolutely perfect! Literally a bite of fruits in every bite. The acai had a smooth consistency, the honey added a delightful touch of sweetness but not too overpowering. This was just a refreshing yet tasteful and healthy midday snack! read more
I love coming here on Tuesdays because it's unlimited toppings! When you arrive, you grab a sheet up paper to choose your size, base, and toppings. I chose the passion fruit sorbet, almond butter, bananas, cacao nibs, and goji berries on one of my visits. I like that they toppings are layered, instead of just on top. Can't deny that the acai here is really delicious!! I will say that the acai cups/bowls here are on average more expensive than other places in SD. The acai itself has great texture and taste. It goes so well with peanut or almond butter. The toppings are also on the skimpier side and blueberries were wrinkled and not plump or fresh but overall it's a solid place to get your acai fix!! read more

This is officially the best açaí I've tried in San Diego. The base was creamy & refreshing! I added almond butter to mine & it was perfect! The price point was also great for the size. Grab yourself an açaí bowl from here & walk down the street to the beach, best combo :') read more
Tucked inside of another business you can get one of the best açaí "bowls" you've ever had. When you walk in the menus are on the right side & you build you açaí like that. It's a grab & go situation so no sitting, but you're close to the beach so I'd make that move! I went soon after they opened & there was only on girl working so I'm not sure if they have more than one throughout the day, but she was extremely helpful! While it is a little pricey, it is welllll worth it. The way they layer your toppings throughout was a dream. read more
