Horrible customer service from the employee working around 3pm on a Tuesday. My daughter and her boyfriend ordered a custom açaí bowl and both have peanut allergies. When they received their bowl, there was peanut butter hidden underneath the fruit and toppings. After taking a bite, my daughter immediately had a reaction and had to spit it out. They went back to address the issue, but instead of taking responsibility, the employee dismissed their concern and simply said, "You ordered it." There is no way they have requested peanut butter given their allergies. The response was rude, careless, and showed a complete lack of concern for a serious health issue. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. read more

My friends and I randomly found this acai spot tucked in a corner. We were craving something with fruit and I'm so glad we found this place! Service was sooo fast and the person who helped us was so welcoming. I got the Cali acai bowl. The acai itself was so good and refreshing. And the fruit was so fresh and surprisingly really good quality and really sweet. I appreciated how they gave just enough granola since some places dont give enough. We have enjoyed several açaí bowls at Açaí Republic! Thankfully it's within walking distance from our house! It's conveniently located next to Peony Chinese & Carmelita's in Laguna Beach near Main Beach. I would recommend grabbing a bowl before or after the beach! They also offer traditional Brazilian Cheese Bread, etc. My only wish is that the bowl additions were more reasonable (most are $1+), but all in all they offer great options and additions if you'd like to customize. The bowls are similar to what we have had in Brazil! They also offer great promotions if you check their IG. The app is easier to order/navigate if you download and order ahead so you don't have to wait + the screen to order in store is a bit difficult to use. read more

Friendly service, just be advised that during winter they don't open until 9 am. We showed up at 8:20 & had to kill 40 minutes so we went to Starbucks across the street. I disliked that you have to order on a screen that's ultra sensitive so we didn't even notice that my bowl showed up as no coconut & my husband's had added collagen. Walked in on a Sunday afternoon. The young man working never acknowledged I was standing there, that I walked in, nothing. A few minutes later, a young woman walks out, who also doesn't acknowledge my presence, that I'm standing there, nothing. Two other women walk in and she IMMEDIATELY greets them with a pleasant smile and warm welcome. A bit off putting for me... The expression on my face was saying, "hello what about me?" and she finally said hello. She asked if I had been helped and I told her no, and that I'd been staying there for several minutes and hadn't been helped. She said "sorry, I was on her break" with an attitude... Yeah ok. I then asked her about an really bright pink drink I saw someone get, and if she could tell me which one it was on the menu. She acted confused like she didn't know what I was taking about but it might be the pitaya smoothie. I ordered the pitaya smoothie. I couldn't see her make it, but she poured the smoothie in the cup, poured it back in the blender to mix something else in, then she gave it to me. The drink is so bright pink, I don't know how she didn't know which drink I was taking about earlier. At any rate, the drink was bland and had very little flavor. I didn't like the young lady's attitude towards me, and that made me really uncomfortable consuming anything prepared my her, especially since I couldn't see her make it. And not to mention, she had poured it out and mixed in some mystery ingredient or something. I didn't trust it. The drink was too expensive to just throw away, so I asked for my money back. She asked the young man for help on how to do it, and they talked about me in some other language, which I feel is unprofessional and rude quite frankly. They obviously don't need or want my business. I won't be back. read more
