My friends and I LOVED this cafe! We stopped by on a Friday morning around 10 or 11am. The line wasn't too long, and we were able to find seating for all 5 of us. Drinks were all so good. My friends got the nutella latte and dirty chai latte, and I got the hot matcha latte. The lattes were perfectly sweet and creamy. Their matcha comes unsweetened, so you can add syrup or use sugar packets to sweeten it. Most places sell watery matcha, but this one is decently strong and very vibrant in color. Still craving that nutella latte! Savory foods were amazing. I got the half turkey sandwich, and my friends got the chorizo burrito. I'm usually bad at finishing my food, but I got through my whole plate! I don't eat pork, so I didn't try the burrito, but my friends described it as cheesy and filling. Can definitely share one burrito between two people. The sweet foods were too sweet for me. We had banana bread, matcha cookies, and matcha scones. Really want to come back soon! read more

Probably the worst matcha I've ever had. We were walking along the main street in Laguna and saw a huge line at Wild Strawberry Cafe. Since I rarely come to Laguna, I figured if this many people were waiting, there had to be something worth trying. Unless it was just another mediocre TikTok spot... unfortunately, that's what it felt like. We waited 40 minutes (I counted because that's what I do when I review). The menu is huge and honestly makes everything sound really good. While in line, I saw the Monin syrups and almost had a heart attack. I still gave it a chance and we ordered the strawberry matcha and banana matcha. After waiting about five minutes for the bathroom, I came back and our drinks were already ready. First sip of the banana matcha: incredibly bland. I stirred it thinking maybe everything had settled, but nope. The banana flavor was weak and artificial tasting, and the matcha itself tasted like the kind you just add water to. There was barely any depth or actual matcha flavor. After a 40 minute line, this was beyond disappointing. I couldn't even finish mine and threw away about half of it. I try not to be overly harsh when reviewing places because everyone has an off day, but I genuinely don't understand the hype here. 0/10, unfortunately Yelp won't let me give 0 stars. read more

The food was good, but unfortunately the customer service left a bad impression. I was ordering a salad for my friend and didn't realize it came in a small or large since that wasn't listed on the menu. I asked the cashier if I could quickly ask my friend which size she wanted. My friend was literally just a few tables away so I was gone for maybe two seconds. When I came back, the cashier had already moved on to the next customer, even though I had specifically asked if I could quickly check with my friend. The next customer also had a pretty long order, so I felt like I could have easily been given those few seconds to finish placing my order. To make matters worse, the tablet ended up malfunctioning, so they had to call back the previous customer and had her pay again which took several minutes. We live locally and have seen Wild Strawberry Cafe everywhere and all the amazing reviews, so we finally decided to try it this morning. Honestly, I do not understand the hype at all. It makes me wonder if a lot of the really high reviews are from tourists because as locals, we were extremely underwhelmed. We got there early and there was no line, which was nice. Everything in the pastry case looked really good, so we had high hopes. We ordered the breakfast bagel sandwich and paid extra to add avocado, a fruit salad for our son, an iced matcha latte with oat milk and vanilla, and my husband got the banana matcha latte. We paid around $60 for everything. The breakfast sandwich was honestly gross. The everything bagel was burnt to a crisp, the bacon was burnt to a crisp, and every bite just tasted burnt and charred. There wasn't even cream cheese or any kind of spread on it. The ONLY thing that gave it any moisture or flavor was the avocado that we paid extra for. I can't even imagine how dry and plain it would have been without it. My matcha was literally just oat milk and matcha. We paid to add vanilla and I couldn't taste any vanilla whatsoever. Nothing special about it at all. Our son ate maybe half of his fruit, and I ended up having to make him breakfast again when we got home. Honestly, this place seems more geared toward tourists and younger girls who want to take pictures of the flowers and cute ambiance, post it on social media, add the geotag, and say they went. The aesthetic is definitely there, I'll give them that. But if you're actually going for the FOOD? We weren't impressed whatsoever. For almost $60 for breakfast, it was absolutely not worth it. Cute flowers, cute ambiance, cute pictures but the actual food and drinks did not live up to the hype at all. As locals, there are way better places to spend $60 on breakfast. We skipped coffee this time and just ordered breakfast burritos. We were so bummed to see the chorizo burrito was discontinued! The bacon burrito and avocado burrito were still really good. If I had a complaint, it would be that you pay extra for adding either avocado or bacon, when the burrito needs them for flavor. They don't have their own salsa, but offer Tapatio if you want it. Overall, they were pretty good but I'm excited to try something else next time. Come here to support the nice staff members, listen to good music, and be walking distance to good stores. Unfortunately didn't have a good experience. What costs $30 worth of food, I wasn't able to enjoy and wasn't really a meal. I didn't take a picture of the quiche but it was super undercooked. The crust was soggy. Egg was runny liquidy slop and honestly I tried to eat it despite that and was just unpleasant. I ended up just not eating it. The poptart and fruit was the only redeeming quality. Pop tart was truly the best pastry I've had in a hot second. I wanted to like this place so bad but unfortunately the quiche left a bad taste in my mouth as well as the super inflated prices. The cafe is really cute and the silverware and porcelain are very aesthetic. The service was pretty decent, we came for a walk and took about 5 minutes to order in line, then 15 for drinks and food. An adorable cafe! I stopped by this cafe to grab a latte and a baked good. And, I received a delicious decaf oatmeal latte and a recommended lemon poppy seed muffin which I devoured! Service is kind. They have a small team of warriors who are ready and consistent in keeping the place clean. There's an accessible restroom that is also well kept. Outlets are hard to find so I wouldn't recommend this as a study spot. WiFi is available. The plating captures any tea-party lovers. Service is the first impression, and boy was service slow. I felt like i was waiting in a line made for Disneyland even though there were only 4 people in line (wrote this while in line). After the fact, i think the person ringing out customers was new. The food was very good. Wild strawberry Cafe, just the name alone sounds like my kind of place. The decor here is really pretty, light and airy and simple. There are inside as well as outside seating, we sat inside. There's coffee, tea and other drink choices. They have some pastries and food items too. We had egg sandwiches which were good but a little expensive for what you get...they could add a little more, maybe a few potatoes or avocado or lettuce...ideas from a place I usually frequent that makes killer egg sandwiches. This is one of the sweetest looking breakfast spots I've ever seen, and fits quite nicely in Laguna Beach on the quieter side of PCH. I love the sunny space, and the blue and white china they serve the food in. They have lemon sugar crepes, which I rarely see, and I love its simplicity and subtle flavors. The fresh whipped cream they serve it with makes it perfect. The pastry case is the gem of this restaurant because everything looks mouthwateringly tempting, and the girls who work there are so nice and friendly. My wife and I were in Laguna visiting for the day. We Googled Wild Strawberry Cafe and what a wonderfully charming place. It truly checked every box. The ambience and set up made you feel like you were in a European cafe. The cozy bistro tables, the rose in mason jar on each table and the brick floor and fountain made you want to linger. The service was above and beyond. The gal who attended to us was accommodating, efficient and so sweet. She's why people will come back The food and coffee didn't disappoint. Presentation was spot on. Details matter- the dishes went perfectly suited for the cafe. Real dishes, beautiful at that, and real cutlery.
